External users can communicate web server, Internal users can't communicate

Hi All,
This Babu, I have Cisco - 1941 and ASA 5510, ISP was terminated on Router point ot point connectivity(10.10.10.0/30). Router isdie ip is Public ip
(49.49.49.1/28), firewall inside ip is 49.49.49.2 and i have done nating in firewall with private ip 192.168.1.0/24.
we have web server, this is also connected in Intranet, this internal ip was 192.168.1.13 nat with publi ip 49.49.49.13.
In this scenario all external users can communicate with web server ie www.example.com. but internal users can't communicate with www.example.com
All internal user able to ping the web server with 192.168.1.13 successfully and get the internet also.
Please help me, what is the problem...

Hi Jereen,
my user tried the following :
- went to http://oraclepartnernetwork.oracle.com/
- at top of the page, click on the "Register / Sign In" link.
- entered user name [email protected], and password (he tried also with a reset system generated password)
- got "Invalid Login" Error
so it seems the issue is not with beehive online, but with SSO to start with...
my other sun.com users have the same issue. Could it be a restriction on Sun.com domain ?
I understand now my issue is not with beehive online, so don't hesitate to redirect me to the appropriate support team if necessary.
Thanks a lot for all your help

Multiple users logged into one server, each users printer has a different name, application needs ONE name to print to.
I'm NOT in any way a Terminal Services expert and I need help trying to get an application program working in a multi-user environment.
The issue is that the printer changes for every user that is logged in. The application needs to print NOT to the default printer, but to a "special" printer which is selected in the application... let's call it a label printer to simplify the explanation.
You have your default regular printer, easy for the application to find that one, and then you have a special printer that labels get printed onto. The application needs to know what printer is the label printer. So we allow the user to select that in the
application and the selection is stored in a config file in
    C:\ProgramData\mfgr\prog\setting files
I don't have access to the application so I can't change how this works.
In the "regular" world, selecting the label printer driver to use should be per machine, NOT per user. When a new user logs into a machine, the physical printer doesn't go "poof" and a new printer suddenly appear. Same printer for all
    users.
Yet in terminal services, the physical machine is "merged" with the virtual machine on the server. And there can be many users logged in at the same time. So each users real machine (and real printer) is injected into the "fake" terminal
services machine. The name of the printers is made unique for each user. So the printers DO go "poof" and change names depending on the user logged into terminal services.
So user "A" logs in and sets up the application to print to "LabelPrinterForUserA" (or whatever the name of the printer happens to be), that setting is stored in the ProgramData subfolder, and all is well. Later, user "B" logs
in, and when they print, the application tries to print to "LabelPrinterForUserA" which doesn't exist for user B or is only accessible by user A. If user B re-configures, that breaks it for user A.
SOLUTION 1: The way that /should/ work (in my mind) is that you define one "generic" printer in Terminal Services... call it "Virtual Label printer" and when the user wants to print to it, the print job gets re-directed back to whatever
physical printer is actually connected to their local workstation. There is a map of virtual printer to actual printer depending on the current user. The application is told once to print to "Virtual Label Printer" for all users.
SOLUTION 2: Or... there should be some way to make the ProgramData sub folders separate per user. E.g. when user "A" tries to access:
    C:\ProgramData\mfgr\prog\setting files
    they actually get
    C:\UserData\UserA\AppData\mfgr\prog\setting files
    and user "B" gets
    C:\UserData\UserB\AppData\mfgr\prog\setting files
So the question I have is: Does either of those solutions exist hidden somewhere in the setup of terminal server? Or is there another way around this issue that I don't know?

I don't really have a "for sure" answer to this, but because people here can't seem to deal with a question that hasn't been answered I'll provide the best answer I did receive from ServerFault.com user Nathan:
I can feel your pain with using old software on terminal servers ...the solution I've come up with definitely won't scale as it requires some manual configuration, but I've gotten this method to work with our label printers (which require to be
printed to an LPT port...yep, that old).
Share your USB-connected printers to the network on each machine. Then, have the user log in on aunique session for each of them
(a TS account cannot be shared among computers for this to work) and install a network printer pointing to the USB one they shared. Try to use a DNS name to account for possible DHCP movements.
After, it should work. Each user can do this since display names can be identical as long as the ports are different (which they are).
This was clarified by the following series of comments:
I think you are on to something here, and I originally advised the admin to do this. The problem he ran into is that it setup the printer names in the TS as "printer on usersworkstation"
and he could not rename it except to change the "printer" to whatever. E.g. the "on userworkstation" remained. I believe there is another way of installing the printer which avoids this, but I can't find it. Ages ago, one used to do NET
USE LPT2 \\computer\printer password /USER:domain\user /PERSISTENT:YES and then tell the driver to print to LPT2 –  James

@JamesNewton That's actually the exact method we used. The way around the "network printer" part is to install it as local printer and map it to a TCP/IP port that way. –  Nathan

You mean in the case where the printers are TCP/IP connected and not local USB / LPT to the users workstation? That makes sense. Wonder if this will work for USB connected printers... –  James

@JamesNewton You'd share the local printer on the client's PC then on the server connect via TCP/IP to it. You'd need static addresses or use DNS names if DHCP, though. –  Nathan

Ah. Yes. I see. Looks like the LPT thing should work even with a USB connected printer:superuser.com/questions/182655/… –  James

  • Problem with NAT? can get to web server internally but not externally

We are trying to setup our helpdesk software website so external users
can access it. However, we have been unsuccessful. We don't have any
issues accessing it internally from our 10.1.1.X LAN
We have had our ISP setup a public DNS "A" record of
customerservice.amerinet-gpo.com which resolves to 198.88.234.40 and that
    appears to be working.
Next we added a NAT to our Firewall to take 198.88.234.40 traffic and put
it to the local IP of 10.1.1.23 which is our local address for the
    webserver running the helpdesk software.
We also made sure that BM filters are allowing traffic on ports 80 and
443 to the local IP as well.
We have 4 other webservers (on a separate servers than our helpdesk
software website) that are exposed to the outside in this same manner and
    all work fine.
The helpdesk website is on Windows 2003 server SP1 running IIS 6.0. Our
firewall server is NetWare 6 SP5 and BM 3.7 SP3.
I have tried to just telnet to the public IP of 198.88.234.40 on port 80
and it times out. I can't understand why, and have checked my entries on
BM and even deleted and re did them 3 times to make sure I didn't make a
mistake. I even have another web server on that block NAT'd the same way
and it works (198.88.234.36), if you telnet to it on port 80 it goes
    right away.
What else can I try? Any insight would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks,
    SCOTT

I was really hoping that we had the wrong sub net in BM for the
198.88.234.32 block! When I read your post last night, I thought that's
gotta be it...sadly I checked and it does have it as 255.255.255.240 when
I look in inetcfg under bindings. I even checked our Cisco router as
well to make sure it had the sub net correct since this is the first time
I've tried to use an IP above 198.88.234.36. The router looked fine as
well. Is there anyplace else that this could be wrong, maybe a config
    file on BM or something?

  • Sun ONE Web Server & Remote User field

    Hi,
I look for a tip to my Sun ONE Web Server 6.1 SP2 configuration.
    I have:
    - OS: Sun Solaris 8
    - Apache 1.3 (listen port :80)
    - Sun ONE Web Server 6.1 SP2 (listen port :81)
    - Weblogic 8.1 SP4 (listen port :8001)
The 3 applications are in the same server.
    My first configuration works:
    - Apache works with basic authentification by password file (generate with htpasswd) and communicates with Weblogic
    - Weblogic listens http requests and work with the remote user id (use method HttpServletRequest.getRemoteUser())
    My second configuration doesn't work:
    - Apache works with basic authentification by password file (generate with htpasswd) + reverse proxy mode (use VirtuaHost) and communicates with Sun ONE Web Server
    - Sun ONE Web Server works with no authentification mode and communicates with Weblogic
    - Weblogic listens http requests and works with the remote user id (use method HttpServletRequest.getRemoteUser())
The HttpServletRequest.getRemoteUser() returns null in my second configuration.
How I can configure my Sun ONE Web Server to foward the remote user id ?
    Thank you.
    Christophe.

    Can you send your obj.conf?

PathCheck fn="find-index" index-names="index.html,home.html,index.jsp"Why do you need this?

  • Cannot access web server internally with ea6200

I have the same problem as found in these posts:

    http://community.linksys.com/t5/Wireless-Routers/EA6500-NAT-Redirection-Bug/td-p/583820/highlight/fa...
Basically, I can't access my local http http server.  Like the other posters, this is a new router and I've never had this problem before.  I know very little about networking, but I am a developer and need my server to be accessible on my LAN.
The only things I’ve done since setting up the router are:
    Setup the wifi security
Enable the media prioritization as a user suggested in the last link I posted.
Forward ports 80 and 8080 – I did this knowing that it made no sense because I only care about local access, but since nothing else with this stupid router makes any sense, I figured, “what the hell!”
I really appreciate any help I can get.  I’m thinking about just ordering a new router and sending this PoS back to newegg.

Hi jerred121, I've done a bit of a research about this feature. There is what we call DNS Rebinding Attacks, certain actions will not work from behind the router, this is for your own protection. I know it worked before with older routers.
If you need to access your server locally, you can use the private IP of that device rather than the public IP.

  • Can I do automatic page refresh? How many of them can the web server take?

I'd like to ask this question in both short and (if you be so kind) in long form:
Short: Can a portion of my APEX page be set to refresh automatically ones every few minute? Not the whole page, just a portion. Would I have to use frames for that? Can they be invisible?
Long: I'd like to create a web interface, which would allow multiple users to track duration of some tasks. More importantly it has to allow other users to see each other's progress (which task somebody is on, how long he has been on it down to several minutes). I understand to server side of it. However, the client side presents a problem of information refresh. I want users to be able to sit without touching their mouses or keyboard and see changes for other users as they happen.
What do I mean by "as they happen?" Ideally, I'd like to present changes in real time. My brief research of Push HTTP technology, pointed toward Comet or Flash. However, I don't know much about web development and as of now, cannot commit too much time to learning new technologies.
The second best option, is to update information every couple of minutes. Two question arise here. First is the "short" question - please see above.
Let's say the page sections can be refreshed automatically. Then I have a question about the load. If I potentially get thousands of simultaneous users, each sending a refresh request every 2-3 minutes, how bad would be the load on the web server and on the network throughput. The amount of data passed can be small, but I am very concerned about the load on web server and the traffic. (I am planning to do virtual hosting with a web hosting company). Somehow I am not concerned about the load on the database (maybe I should be). All calculations will be put in a stored procedure, at least I can optimize it.
Any other suggestions on how to approach this client refresh issue?
    Thanks a lot.

These answers are helpful but I still need more info. The first answer suggests putting html refresh tag. But that would refresh the whole page, wouldn't it? I just need to refresh one region. Can it be done with html tag?
I reviewed the Javascript code in the example referenced in the second answer. It showed that I can refresh a region using Javascript. It looks very nice. However, I need to refresh with data pulled from the database. I am not familiar with AJAX (need to lear JavaScript first) and I know that JavaScript cannot query database on its own. So I am not sure that this example is relevant.
What I need is: Only 1 region of the page needs to be refreshed every 5 minutes. The rest should "stay put." Everytime the refresh is performed the database will be queried for new data by means of stored db procedure. Do I need to jump through hoops to do that or is it fairly straightforward thing to do?
    Thank you for your time.

  • Can SunOne Web Server get REMOTE_USER?

    Scenario:
Users authenticate to Active Directory on Windows and browse an application from their IE browser to a web application hosted by SunOne Web Server 6.1.
Will the SunOne Web Server application be able to pick up the REMOTE_USER HTTP header?
    Thanks in advance.

IE will not send user id in http headers. You can get the user id if you do NTLM authentication which the web server does not support. If your app is java based you can look into doing NTLM auth in Java and get the user id that way.

  • When i open safari it is very slow but once it has opened i can switch web sites very quick, can anyone tell me why.

I have a problem when i open Safari.it takes a few minutes to open, the home page opens but if i try to open ( say Amazon) it just sits there for more minutes before opening ,but once it has opened i can switch from web site to web site very quick.can anyone tell me why this and is there anything i can do to

Try changing the "Top Sites shows:" to the smallest number possible.  Safari is loading these sites when its starts so it can give you an image of what the site looks like when you start blank new window.  A smaller number of sites will make that quicker, assuming the top sites do not have a very slow site in the mix.

  • How can i store latitude and longitude (of registered user locations) in sql server and how can i query it for finding locations inside X radius from point y (or any user)?

    Hello
In my app (WP 8.1) i have to store user location (lat, lon) in sql db so how can i store that location detail? And i also have to find all the location which are inside certain radius X from another user location, How can i do this?
Any Sample project or code or any blog post?
    P.S. I use sql server 2012.

If you need to do spatial queries like the one you mentioned you'd need to store it as a spatial geography type. For points, a simple SQL INSERT statement using the Point() method would do it. Example here:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb933811.aspx For locations inside a radius, you'd use STDistance() method. All of the methods for the geography data type are documented here:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb933802.aspx and can be used in ordinary T-SQL statements.
If you need to use the SQL Server spatial library in your .NET application direct, Alastair has some nice blog posts, like this one:
https://alastaira.wordpress.com/2011/08/19/spatial-applications-in-windows-azure-redux-including-denali/ , he even wrote a book. Or search the answers in this forum.
    Hope this helps, Bob

  • Possible to communicate to server when user terminates an app?

    Hi,
We have a location based messaging app which utilizes CoreLocation updates.  When the app goes into background state, we use significant location changes.
We mark users as 'online' and 'offline'.   We are trying to alert our server that a user is 'offline' when they terminate our app, however, we have been unable to find a suitable solution when users terminate the app by double clicking on ios home screen and terminating.
We had thought to resolve the issue with a timeout (if user doesn't send location data within a certain time frame) but this is not working as expected because when the user hides the application on device (push it into background execution) it will be unable to send updates to the network if user doesn't move to a new cell tower using significantlocationchanges.
    Any thoughts on this?

  • Meeting Place Web Servers ( Internal and External )DNS and IP Addressing

For the Meetingplace 8.5 what will be the IP addresses of the Internal Web Server ( Internal IP's from the same subnet as of the CUCM) and for the External one interface from the internal network subnet ( CUCM subnet)  and the other Public IP address?
How we will be mapping the DNS FQDN for these IP addresses?
Do we need to have one internal DNS server and the other place in the DMZ?

    Hi Ali,
You need two Web Server one Internal and one External. While configuring you internal web server you also add external if external particpants are allowed or not.
For internal web server you want to make sure it's on the same subnet so internal particpants can access that one. For external you need to make sure the IP configured on external one is either natted ip or public ip so that when they type the external domain name it resolves to this external server ip address.
Let me know if you have more questions.
