External video settings, how to reset/change

ok, have a MBPro, had the external mini->DVI which worked great (never opening the lid). I never turn this laptop off (another great + over M$), but I simply unplug, take home, open the lid and it adjusts and I work. Goto work, plug it in (never open the lid), just hit the external k/b and things just work.
I upgraded and now have (2) 24' monitors at work, so I got a Matrox duel, and a new mini DV-> Matrox -> 2 HDMI monitors. It should go 3800x1050, I set it for that, but the monitors went black with the please set correct range. So I opened the lid, set it down one 3200x1050 and they came alive and still look good. Problem is if I close the lid, I guess that setup (closed lid + 2 monitors) it thinks should be 3800 so if I close the lid, the monitors go off. I googled around, but don't see how to clear that out and say when the external is plugged in, make it 3200 and allow the lid to close and save that setting.
Any ideas or help is appreciated.

Do you have access to another Mac? I ask because I think the best thing to try in cases like this is Screen Sharing between two Macs. On the second Mac you should be able to see the screen of the problem Mac even though its monitors are dark. And from the second Mac you can set the desired settings and hopefully light up the monitors and get them working.

This has nothing to do with iTunes as iTunes provides no way to move or relocate the backup files.
A search of google or the fourms would reveal ways to create a folder link to relocate the physical location where the files are stored.

As I stated, you cannot change the Apple ID that an app asks for, it is forever tied to the Apple ID that was used to purchase the app. You need to use the password for the Apple ID that was used to purchase it.
Apps are not transferrable.

To change the Camera mode you must touch the desired mode, say, Photo, and swipe it to the selected positioin. Just touching Photo is not enough.

Slipped into strange video mode - how to reset?

My mac slipped into a strange video mode. It looks like some kind of reverse-video. I was playing around with configuring the icon view, and with a script that automatically positioned my windows, when this happened.
The video mode - when I boot I see the normal white-screen with apple, then the normal blue background for a second, and then it switches into "reverse-video". Menu bar is dark, lettering on menu bar is white. The usual "shadow" effect appears like a highlighted halo; the pop-up menu on the desktop appears black; the letters on that popup appear white. etc.
If I re-boot in safe mode the video appears normal.
Any suggestion what sequence of things I might try to get this reset?

The Mini Display port and Thunderbolt port use compatible connector bodies. Your current Mini Display to DVI or VGA adapter will still work as before on the newer Thunderbolt capable machines.

How do I change my external editor in Lightroom back to CS5?

I have Lightroom 4 and Photoshop CS5. I installed CS6 to experiment, but I don't really want to "work" with it. However, it changed the settings in Lightroom to default to CS6 as my external editor. How can I change this back to CS5?

I checked with Kelly Castro on the LR team and he said you should be able to save each of your external apps as presets and then they should both be available. He gave me the steps, too:
1. Lightroom > Preferences > External Editing
2. Under Additional External Editor,clci the “Choose” button next to Application
3. Navigate to Applications folder and select Photoshop CS5
4. Set Editing attributes (File Format, Color Space, Bit Depth, Res)
5. Click on preset menu and select “Save Current Settings as New Preset”
6. Name the new Preset “Photoshop CS5” and click “Create”

How can I reset/change the account/library on my Apple TV 2?

I was given a used Apple TV 2nd Generation that is no longer covered by Apple Care Phone Support.
I was able to successfully pair the Apple Remote but I cannot seem to change or reset the account from the previous users name/email address to my own.

External Video Problem

Macbook Pro (late 2008) connected to 24' LED Display. Final Cut Pro Studio 2. Final cut A/V settings for external video to LED display. Mirror on desktop checked. LED display is connected and black but I get no playback in the display. All frames, single frames, nothing. When I use motion and the LED display is selected as my external video, playback is perfectly synced in the viewer and display. All other programs allow me to use the LED display as my monitor except FCP. Why? I posted this before but got no answer. I have searched and searched. DVcreator.net, creativecow.net. etc....Nobody seems to know why I am not getting external playback in my LED display. I have trashed prefs, I have reinstalled the entire box set. Nothing. Anyone have any idea?

Yes, it is a computer monitor (like I said Apple 24' LED Display) but its not DVI. The new Macbooks have that new mini display port. That is how it is connected. These new LED monitors were designed specifically for the new macbooks. You are correct about the " Digital Desktop Preview" part BUT a second display can be used as an external monitor via the external video settings (as long as you monitor audio from the built in audio). I have an AJA IO and I use that with my G5 edit bay and I am currently looking into the new Matrox MXO2 for my Macbook but the point is this works but only when I do as I said in my last reply. If I was editing video for NTSC viewing, of course I would use an I/O and monitor it on a NTSC monitor but considering a bulk of my editing is for the web and 720p, why not use a second display for monitoring? This is how I have gotten playback so far,
create new project, select "Digital Cinema Desktop Preview-Full Screen", import a video file that does not match the sequence settings. When I drag a clip to the timeline, choose NOT to change sequence settings to match the clip when it pops up. Then render the clip and I get synced playback in the viewer and LED display in fullscreen (but not with the preview slug). What is strange, if I export the rendered clip, re-import it and place it in the matched up sequence, my initial problem occurs. Unlimited RT is off (tried on as well). I have tried everything. The only reason I am **** bent on getting this to work is when I first got the computer and display, this WORKED!!! Perfectly. I imported HD mov files from an SD card and used the settings I am using now and had no problem what so ever. Then one day (only thing I can think of that changed was an OS security update) it just decided to NOT work. I believe it is a sequence/project setting problem or the fact that the media isn't logged, it is just imported. I'm trying to make a custom setting to fix this but no luck at the moment yet. If someone has the exact same setup as me please tell me you have the same problem and I don't have a hardware issue.....hmmmm In fact, I'm going to switch to the other lesser internal video card and see if that works.
