External webcam compatible with Presario CQ56 z-2100

Need to find external webcam for Presario CQ56z-2100 that is compatible with its AMD V140 processor, 2.3 Ghz.  Looking at Logitech but requirements are for 2.4 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo.  Will it work for my Presario?

Just need something reliable for calls.  I also realized the upload speed requirements of 1Mbps are way more than our internet service provides (250 Kbps).  Looking for whatever works reliably with Skype considering the low-speed upload.

Yes if the monitor has a VGA D-Sub input port.
Otherwise you'll need a TB to Whatever The Input of The Monitor Is adapter. Could be DVI or HDMI.

  • Need an external HD compatible with OS 9

Can anyone recommend a good External HD compatible with OS 9 (160GB - 500GB). Thanks for your help

    Hi, coolins -
Yes, they are easy to use. An external hard drive can be used just like a large floppy - you can drag and drop files to it, or save files directly to it via simple navigation in the Save or Save As dialog window. You can copy a multitude of files at once - select a group of files, folders, or mixed files and folders on your internal hard drive and drag the group to the external drive; Finder will copy (not move) the group to the drive.
As far as setup goes, although the drive may come preformatted for a Mac (or not; most won't), it should be reformatted before you use it. Unfortunately, OS 9's Drive Setup utility (which can be used to do that for internal drives) is not capable of formatting an external drive. Some drive manufacturers will furnish a formatting utility with their drive; for those that don't, you will need to use a 3rd-party utility. The one that I use is the VST formatting Utility. Another option is to use a machine running OSX to do the formatting - OSX's Disk Utility is capable of formatting a firewire (or USB) drive. In any case, be sure to select Mac OS Extended (also called HFS+) as the format for the drive.
Once the drive has been formatted it will appear on your desktop as an icon, on the right-hand side where all drive icons (those for hard drives, floppies, aip drives, CDs, etc.) appear. You can open it by double-clicking it; change its icon; and even rename it (provided File Sharing has not been enabled for that drive).

  • What type of external webcam works with iChat?

Is there a certain type of external webcam that works with iChat or can any webcam do the job?

Logitech Quickcam Vision pro for the Mac was recently released and I am using it with G5 QUAD and OS X 10.5.4 without problems. It is quite expensive compared to other cameras but it has a Zeiss lens and I think a much better picture. Works with evocam also. (evocam is a shareware program to do time lapse photos, or motion sensor movies and webcam stuff). I'm very happy with it.

  • PC Webcams Compatible With iSight?

My friend wants to get a PC webcam so she can videochat with me. However, I often find that many PC webcams do not work in iChat when I attempt to connect with them. Does anyone know of a PC webcam that can videochat with my iSight?

I really don't quite understand your question. Does your friend use a Mac which does not have a built-in iSight so she needs a webcam? Or your friend uses a PC?
    Anywho, check out the following:

  • Muvo Slim external charger compatible with Zen Nee

    Hello.
I'm new here. I have a Muvo Slim and I bought the optional USB charger for the player so that I could charge the player without using my computer. I just need to plug the player using the charger to the power supply while the player is charging.
Now the problem is, I just got myself a Zen Neeon last month and I'm wondering whether the Muvo Slim's external charger is compatible with my Neeon? I noticed that both players are using the same USB port and I even charge them through my computer using the same cable. It would be very good if I could use the Muvo Slim's charger for my Neeon because it will save a few hours of electricity leaving the computer turned on everyday. Anyone can help? Many thanks.
    Cheers.
    -Rizal-

I've heard the Slim charger works with the Micro, and the Micro charger works with the Neeon. So by deduction it should work. If you want an official answer though you'll have to ask Creative Support.

  • Is isight external camera compatible with mac mini?

I just bought an old isight camera from ebay. I used a firewire 800 to 400 cable to connect to my late 2012 mac mini. I test to cam using facetime but the screen said no camera connected. So I connect the isight with my old macbook to test the camera, and the connection is fine.
I wonder if the old isight cam is still compatible with mac mini. If so, that might be the problem of the fire 800 to 400 cable.

Other users, including myself, could not get the barrel iSight camera to work on the 2012 Min with Mavericks. It did work on my late 2009 Mini except the mic did not work. It does work on my late 2013 Mac Pro desktop except again, that the mic does not work.

  • Any external HDDs compatible with Tablet 2?

    Hello everyone,
Lenovo Solution Center is reporting that the 64 GB of storage in my tablet 2 is running out, and I would like to connect an external hard drive to it and move some programs and files to the hard drive to free up space in my tablet.
Someone else had a similar problem and was suggested that they use a micro SD card, but I don't have any that has enough space to fit my apps. And I'm not sure if some intense desktop programs such as Microsoft Office will be able to run off a removable micro SD card.
Any compatible devices you might be aware about - perhaps the new Thinkpad Stack system announced at CES?
    Thanks,
    Student Thinker

Why not just plug an $8 16 GB thumbdrive into your dock? I have a hard drive hooked to my dock but I still use thumbdrives for many things, for instance I can get it to boot to my Macrium restore thumbdrive from the dock and reload a backup image. It's also faster to write large files to a thumbdrive and transfer them to another computer than it is to do it over WiFi. I also have a 32Gb micro SD drive and pointed the Windows Libraries ( Documents, Music, Photos, and Video)  to that drive just like I do on my machines that have a SS hardrive .... Point your TEMP folders to that also and that will free up some space and make the onboard storage more responsive since it doesn't have to constantly erase a block (Or wait for the OS to send a TRIM command) before it writes new information to that block. Fortunately Windows does do a real good job using SD cards like a hard drive unlike Android devices that usually bork the SD card when you need it most and the only solution is a full reformatting. That's why the Google Nexus 7's and the Nexus 10 don't even have a built in SD card slot
You have to understand how solid state storage works and it';s different from a hard drive which can overwrite information while with solid state storage it has to erase a used block before it can write to it again and erasing a block is one of the slowest operations a soilid state drive does. Because of the need to erase a used block before a write you will start to get a noticable slowdown at 75-80% full and by 90% it will be unresponsive and often unusable and crash the system especially if you are doing something that writes a lot of files back and forth to storage. That's why these devices generally suck for large file size photo video or sound editing

  • Thinkvision 2251 WEBCAM compatible with Thinkpad T60?

    Greetings,
Purchased a Lenovo Thinkvision Monitor with integrated Webcamera model L2251x 22" wide screen. Have a Thinkpad T60 laptop. After nearly 7 hours of online support, telephone support and researching customer forums, loading every driver I can find for the monitor and laptop, I'm down to a program called Lenovo Webcam Center by Intervideo. Driver from Lenovo website noted below:
    HYPERLINK "http://download.lenovo.com/ibmdl/pub/pc/pccbbs/options/mediaonegallery.exe
I am at the point where it asks me to enter the serial number for the software. As the webcamera came integrated with the Monitor, and the T60 had no webcam, I have no serial number. I checked out the Intervideo website to see what it would cost to get the SW license, but it says it is no longer sold. I would be willing to pay a nominal amount to get this webcam working.
Can I get a serial number for this old software? If I do, you think the T60 and 2251 Monitor are even capable/compatible for Webcam? Lenovo has been poor at support and this seems a common issue on the customer forums.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Painfuul 7 hours trying to figuure this out, anyone know?
Have loaded every driver I can find for Webcams from 2251 CD, Lenovo for both laptop and monitor and every forum link I could find. Down to this WEB gallery driver from INtervideo that seems no longer supported and stupms me at the SERIAL number during load as thwew 2251 didn't come with this (and the T60 had no cam to begin with).
    Any help appreciated.

  • ISight cam (external FW) compatible with 10.4 ?

    Good afternoon.
I have an original (700 MHz) eMac that I would like to add a webcam to for use with Skype.
    The eMac is running 10.4.11.
Is there any additional software/extensions/plugins required for plug-and-play use of the iSight?
    Thanks for your time!

Is there any additional ... required for plug-and-play use of the iSight?
No, not iSight related. However, the software that runs your iSight governs.
For Skyping, see Skype System Requirements at bottom of page: http://www.skype.com/download/skype/macosx/
It appears that" G4 800 Mhz processor or faster" is required, at least for the current version.
Some other apps might be worth a look: http://www.ralphjohns.co.uk/EZJim/EZJimpage7.html

  • Car Cradle for Charging and External Antenna Compatible with Tour

Is there a car kit that allows easy charging and connection to external antenna for the Tour?  I had Comfort Cradles by Bury for my last two BlackBerrys, but I just was disappointed to learn that Bury does not have or even plan one for the Tour.  Any suggestions?  If I had known this before, I probably would have stayed with my 8830.  Thanks.

To answer my own query - I just spoke to someone at Smoothtalker and was informed that Smoothtalker will be releasing a charging cradle, with external antenna conttection, for the "Tour" in "about a month."
I still would be interested in hearing from anyone else with any information concerning this.
    Thank you,.
