External XML data for more charts in a single page

I am using a plot chart which gets data from an external XML file through <mx:HTTPService>
I create another chart in the same page which also gets data from another XML file.
How can i provide data to this chart through the HTTP Service ?

External XML data files to add values to drop down lists

I would like to have external XML data files to add values to drop down lists in my form.. But when i create a data connection it is working properly only in the Preview in Livecycle Designer.. but not in the PDF form(Adobe Reader). Moreover im not sure whether it will work in the form manager..!plzz help me!

Can a QuickTime movie play for more than 60 seconds per page

Can a Quicktime movie be set to play for more than 1 minute per page in Keynote. I have clips that run up to 3 minutes. For now I have pulled the clip into 3 different pages and set the times to match but I get a 10 second delay between the pages that is very distracting.

Yes I am trying to set up an automatic transition after the movie has played. I have still photos between the movies. I want the entire presentation to be self running. I did use the special builds in and out and have the action set at none. The movie clip will not run more than 60 seconds?

Loading external XML data into XMLObject

hey all,
i've been working on a basic fl2 app that generates a list of
posts from an external XML file located on my server
(www.omedia.mobi/forum.xml) The swf file is also located there in
the same directory .(crime.swf).
The app runs fine in the emulator, both when i tried to load
the data locally on my mac, and when i load it from the server. But
when i put the swf file on my N70, it fails to load the data.
I'm banging my head against a wall trying to get this sorted.
has anyone had any similar experiences?
any help would be apprieciated...

Dumb question, are you 100% sure that your phone is making
any connection to the internet? Does your phone read a name/value
variable from an external file?

Filter XML Data for ListBox

This is the continuation of "Filter ListBox w/ XML Data using a TextBox"
Andy, I read your paper last night. You are so high that I can only understand some of it right now, but you do bring up a performance issue, which needs to be considered for this thread.
Is myListBox.Items a view or the items that have already loaded into the myListBox? I am confused. If myListBox.Items are the items that are currently in the myListBox, then there will be an performance issue if there are a huge amount of items in the myListBox.
Am I right?
Then, the process supposed to be:
1, add XML source to Blend
2, filter the source
3, put in the listbox
Then the code will be much complicated than the 1st one. right?

There's a pattern that almost every wpf dveloper uses and it's called mvvm.
Google it, there'll be a shed load of articles.
It's a passive view pattern in that the view has minimal logic in it.
The view is your window ( or usercontrol).
You can add a listboxitem to the listbox.items collection but i would only do that if it's a very simple static collection.
You can bind a collection to itemssource and the listbox will create a listboxitem for each things it gets from that collection.
It creates them using a datatemplate.
When you do that binding apparently directly to a collection a collectionvie is automagically created between control and collection.
You can explicitly create one of those collectionview things yourself and this is agreat way to filter and sort.
You can also use one of those collectionviews to navigate the collection setting the current item in the viewmodel.
That can be synced in the view so you select an item from the viewmodel.
I think I probably drifted off topic there somewhat.
Mvvm is probably different from stuff you've done before.
It's easier to do a bunch of things using mvvm plus it's what any prospective employer will want.
Along with tdd/bdd it's industry standard.
Big tip: learn it.
You want to avoid showing a user a huge load of data. Not so much for performance reasons but because users can only cope with so much data at a time.

Form with dropdown lists using external XML data - Distribution

Hi all,
I have created a form which has a series of drop down lists that populate dynamically from an external XML file. The option selected in the first list determines what data can be selected in the second, and so on.
This functionality worked well within designer when I previewed the form - the problem I have is when I go to distribute. I (perhaps mistakenly) assumed that when I distributed the form, the external XML file would be absorbed into the main PDF, but this as not the case. Not only that, even if the XML file is in the same location as the published PDF, the dropdowns no longer populate with any data.
Am I doing something wrong? Is there a setting to draw in external XML when a form is published? Is there another method to dynamically populate dropdowns that will provide me with a single PDF as a final product?

XML data for Spry Menu ?

I maintain several web sites with static pages that all carry
a common Spry menu bar hard coded into each page via a template.
How can I use an XML file to feed a Spry menu widget to save
uploading all the pages every time there is a change on the site
that requires the menu to be updated?
I've searched the web and help files for an answer to this
without success, so any help or pointers would be most appreciated.

I made this example that uses a xml file to build the spry
menu, the page is html, you need to make a seperate dataset for
each <ul> tag, or item group in the menu, notice the two
datasets in my sample, you could expand and make as many as you

Problems handling xml data for tree control.

Hi,
I have tried using tree control for displaying my xml data
but I had a problem that i did not have labels in my xml data. A
sample xml data is attached. So it displays the whole data at each
level in the tree. The root label will be the entire the xml data
and then one level down the remaining xml data and so on...
How do i solve this issue i,e get the tags names itself as
labels..

An update after some efforts..
Could get the folders perfectly i.e until the level of
CPUTime perfectly but could not get the leaf: 32 since i used the
following to set the label.
I would like to know if there is a way to find out if a node
is a leaf or folder and according set the label

I'm trying to display a single record out of an XML database
into dynamic fields in my MovieClip. I need to be able return a
single record based on the current time. Attached is a sample of my

I was wondering if this could be acheived with a DataSet
filterFunction? If it is possible, what code would I need to

This is a little tricky. When you don't use /text(), looking for space is the right thing. But when you use /text() you should look for NULL:

Single row editing for multiple tables in a single page

Hi!
I have split a table with many many columns into more tables with a lower number of columns. There is an ID column (sequence generated) that is Primary Key common for all tables. Obviously, the relationship between these tables is 1 to 1, so its not about having to build master-detail pages.
What I need now is to edit all these tables in a single page: one single row from each table. The Automated Row Fetch & Automatic Row Processing (DML) processes used for the old table must be replaced by something else.
Is there a way to use in a single page more pairs of such processes for more tables?
I want to avoid manually writing processes with lot of PL/SQL code to handle row fetch & update.
Keep in mind that the page will have an ID item that can be used to identify unique rows in all my tables.

IMHO that is a very bad idea. There is nothing wrong with having many columns in a table. If you would like to split them to better "categorize" them, just create views on the table and expose different subsets of the columns.
I want to avoid manually writing processes with lot of PL/SQL code to handle row fetch & update.
That is unavoidable given how you have designed the underlying tables.
You could try creating a view that joins all the tables by the PK and creating a form based on that view. Then write a INSTEAD OF trigger on the view that "doles out" the DML on the view to each of the underlying tables.

Sharepoint 2013 - Search for link names on a single page

I am messing around with SP13 and trying to get my search result web part to only search for link names and display all results.
I have created the search source to point at the sub site. If I search for part of a link name it will list all links in one long row as a single result.
Example: One single page contains all links. Each link points to a .aspx page. The search source is pointing at this page and it can display results but only as a single result containing all links as one line of text.
Say I have 1000+ links of which 50 has names such as Link1-Item1-Basket1, Link1-Item1-Basket2 up to Link1-Item1-Basket50.
When I search for Link1-Item1 I would like my search results to display 50 results as 50 individual links.
Is this possible?

Yes, you can format the search results as you expected. But you have to create a custom display template to format your results such as extract the links from each results and display it as separate link.
Once display template created you have to map the display template to your search results web part.

Preformatted RTF string in XML data for BI Publisher merge

I have been presented to the question: Can we send a preformatted RTF text as one of the input fields in XML stream to BI Publisher (mail)merge?
We're using the MS Word plugin to create a RTF template. Effectively we want to merge RTF text using RTF template.
I cannot find any documentation stating that it is supported. My tests locally in the MS Word plugin are'nt exactly sucessfull, but there is a number of possible reasons for that.. :-)
Does anybody know explicitly if it is supported (or not)?

Obviously the buffer size need to be extend...also its look like you are customizing the report ..so it would be better if you check for data redundancy once.
you have to increase the size of buffer ....and then let it completly open the xml output file...till its done and then save it and use for preview.
You have to ask your dba to increase the buffer ...or from sysadmin --->conc manager--->output post processing ...check for the manager and increase the buffer size as well.

My iPhone5 has terrible Network connection. It rarely works at the normal speed-if ever. I usually get 3G or 1x network dozens of times a day. My phone also gets pretty hot when i try to use any data for more than a few minutes.

My iPhone5 network connection has been terrible for the past week and a half. My phone is no more than a year old so I don't see why it would be a problem with the phone. When I try to use the internet or look for apps or anything like that, anything that uses data really, it takes FOREVER if it even loads! Most of the time it won't even load. My network changes from LTE(which doesn't work well) to 3G(which works even less) and then to 1x(which basically doesn't work at all). This happens dozens of times a day. It's getting quite irritating. I've tried turning my phone off and letting it sit for a while and that does nothing. I'd really prefer NOT to restore my phone. What is the deal??!

Are you broadcasting your SSID? Sometimes this can cause a problem connecting. Is this Cisco router running any turbo modes or special preparatory protocols.
There are no know issues with Wi-Fi connectivity except on first connection; and the chance of 2 devices having the exact same issue is very unlikely. This sounds like something to do with your wireless router.
Have you tried to connect to another Wi-Fi hotspot elsewhere?
Do you have any 2.4 GHz wireless phones or security system that could interfere with connection?
