Externel Display Samsung

I have a externel Diplay (Samsung) connected on my iBook G4 1.2GHz. If i switch the iBook to "Sleep" and close the iBook and then press on the externel Keyboard the ENTER or Space Button, it will wake up for e Moment and then fall back to the SLEEP Modus. Is something wrong or does this Modus not work with iBook's? Greets Thomas

There may be a way to recover from that kind of problem, but it's kind of a pain. What might work is to set up screen sharing between the mini and the iMac, or some other computer in the house. Then, when the Samsung goes black, you should still be able to see and control the game from the second computer to which the mini's screen is being reflected or shared. From there, you may be able to change the games behavior in the the game's settings menu. There might be an alternate resolution the game can be set to that the Samsung will be compatible with.
Also, you didn't say, but is the Samsung cabled to the mini by DVI or by VGA? Whichever one is being used, try swapping to the other interface and see if the problem goes away. That would be something to try possibly before resorting to the above screen sharing trick.

  • Display Samsung 2233SW

We just bought a mac mini. The display, Samsung 2233 SW works great except when I try to play a kids game that needs to run off CD. The display will not stay on with the game. I get the image on the screen with a superimposed error message to the extent of not running 1980X1020 (or whatever was recommended). The display then turns black after a few seconds. Is there something the mac can do about this or is the monitor just not compatible with the lower resolution games (which would be a big bummer!)
    Any help thanks?

  • Display (Samsung LCD-TV) does not sync after wakeup anymore...

    Configuration:
    Mac Mini early 2009 (nvidia 9400), 2GHz, 4GB Ram, Mac OS 10.6.1
    Samsung 26" LCD-TV, connected to mini-dvi by Apple mini-dvi-to-vga adapter (resolution: 1360*768)
    Problem:
since upgrading to Snow Leopard, the display will not sync after the mini wakes up from sleep. Works fine after reboot. Also, changing resolution in the control panel does not work with 1360*768.
    All this worked with leopard.
Any help would be highly appreciated.

I have no solution to this issue, but I've been having the same problem for about 2 weeks now. I never had any other issues with my iPhone in the 15 months I've owned it, but this is causing huge problems for me.
My computer setup is very similar to the above poster, and I've tried the uninstall and complete reinstall (and every other suggestion I could find) to no avail. iTunes just won't recognise my iPhone and it hangs every time I try to connect it.
In the iTunes diagnostics (which I can only get to work if I open it before I connect the iPhone) everything is green except the sync tests, which it fails. The help button there is completely useless, Apple's website generally isn't helpful and there's really no other way to get support from them.
    Does anyone have any ideas?

  • Mac Mini to Samsung LE37R87BDX 37" VGA to Pc Input - No Display

I have a mac mini 1.66 Intel running 10.4.11, into which I've got the VGA adapter plugged, this is cabled with a VGA cable into my nice new Samsung LE37R8 flat panel LCD on the pc port.
The image flicks up briefly, but then it goes black and it won't display.
Connect the same machine up running windows XP under boot camp and bingo, it works beautifully.
Oh and I've tried a windows pc running xp as well and that displays also, so I'm pretty much convinced there's nothing wrong with the tv or the cable.
I think it must be the Os settings..
The odd thing is that I can remote desktop to the mac mini and it detects the display correctly, as far as I can see, even listing 'Samsung' as the colour profile and the changing the resolution to a supportable (well, as far as I can see from the tv's manual) to 1366x768 at 75hz.
I've tried changing the resolution, 1024x768, 800x600 etc etc, changed the frequency to 60, but to no avail.
    Anyone got any ideas?

I am having an identical issue with an intel dual core mac mini and a 50" plasma Samsung TV (PS50Q97HD). I've sucesfully connected my mac to a 17" LCD monitor with the DVI-VGA adapter and I've connected a windows XP laptop to the Samsung TV using a VGA cable.... but I have had no success with the mac to Samsung connection. • Trouble connecting Macbook to Samsung LCD TV

    Hello,
I tried connecting my Macbook to my Samsung LCD TV (through a DVI to HDMI cable) but I only got a black screen and "No signal". The macbook detects the Samsung and even displays "SAMSUNG" as a detected display.
I checked the TV manual and there I found "Don't connect a PC or laptop computer to the HDMI/DVI connectors (it will result in a black screen)"
Does anybody know why? Any solution?
Will this happen with a MacMini too? I had the intention to connect it to my TV and use it as a media center

Sorry to tell you that DVI does not support sound.  You either have to use a HDMI cable (with the appropriate adapter) or tap your audio output port with a 'Y' type cable configuration for sound.
    Ciao.

  • Crash with ATI Radeon X1900 XT and second HD display (DVI) ?

hi ! i have a realy tough one for you guys : since 3-4 days i've been getting this realy strange (and scary!) kernal panic screen / crashes / freeze with my macpro dual 2.66 with ati radeon X1900 xt.
the crashes keep coming while doing extensive work (video converting, renders) or just letting the macpro running doing nothing much all night long...
now this is what i found for now : if i disconect my 2nd display (samsung syncmaster 2493hm HD in DVI 1080p) it seem to be stable. when i reconnect it sometime it can run again with this 2nd display for a while but when i leave a render all night long the next morning it will be frozen, nothing on screen (all black).
after rebooting it get this crash report from the system :

Are you really still running 10.6.3? you will need 10.6.5+ so do that and make a clone.
ATI 5770 from Apple Store - like 1000s of others have done and in the comments section on the store page.

  • External display issue when Macbook wakes up

    Hi there,
I have an external display (Samsung 920nw) used as an extension of my desktop. When I go to sleep so does my Macbook... I close the lid and the computer goes to sleep mode within seconds (the white led on the front right slowly flashes confirming that the computer got to sleep).
The problem starts in the morning when I wake up the Macbook. The white led is still and not flashing anymore and when I lift the lid only the external display works with a poor resolution. The macbook display remains off. To solve the problem I need to detect displays and rearrange everything again between the screens.
I am not sure but I believe that sometime during the night the Macbook wakes up and he thinks that I am using the external display as the only display.
I want to lift the lid and both displays to be working as they were before going to sleep mode. Is anyone facing the same problem and/or have any clue of what is happening?
I have a bluetooth mouse and a usb hub with printer, pen drive, external hard drive attached to the macbook.
    Thanks for helping.

Could be caused by a backup drive or some other application running in the background.  There's no way to be sure without looking at your crash logs.  I keep my computer on but I always close down my apps at night to protect them from power outages.

  • External Display and AC charger (together ) Causes 70% CPU usage :(

Ok, here is what I have :
    - MacBook Pro 13" early 2011
    - Mac OS X Lion 10.7.3
    - External Display ( Samsung SyncMaster 2333)
    - MiniDisplay port to VGA adapter.
    Here is my problem :
When I'm using my computer normally with AC charger plugged in everything is normal, once I plugin the external monitor, a process called LoginWindow takes up to 70% of my cpu and the cooling fan goes noisy.. If I unplug the AC power, everything is back to normal, and the external monitor keeps working normally, AC back -> 70% cpu is back, if unplug the monitor, everything goes back to normal again, In conclusion, external monitor and AC power doesn't work together...
PLEASE IS THERE A FIX FOR THIS ?
    thanks for reading.

Hey I figured something out with "insomniaT" ( a prefPane that prevents macbook pro from going to sleep when closing the lid ) ... I don't know why this worked but it did
    here is the steps :
    - while the power cord is unplugged and external monitor plugged in,I activate insomniaT
    - then I closed the lid of my macbook pro and plugged the power cord, and then I woke up the MBP with an external usb keyboard...
--> the Samsung monitor woke up and worked normally, LoginWindow process works fine ( 0.1 to 0.4% of cpu )
IT WAS ALL LUCK, have no idea how this worked ...
    thanks.

  • Brand new macbook pro 15" when connected to external LCD display in high resolution ,flickers often

    Hi,
I have brand new macbook pro 15" with retina display.
I have connected external LCD display (Samsung B2230) using Apple VGA adaptor & thunderbolt port. But LCD display flickers quite oftenly. I read community blogs where many macbook pro users like me are facing similiar issue.
There is no problem with LCD display as it works fine with Lenova laptops.
Can anybody please provide me the solution to this problem.?

  • T41P external Display

My T41P is installed with Windows 7. I like to use an external Display (Samsung 2433BW) but it does not work. FN + F7 to switch between Monitor and external Display is not possible. Any ideas?

    Hello,
Do you use an external keyboard with a Windows key on the keyboard with the ThinkPad T41p? If so, pressing WinKey+P on the keyboard brings up the Display Switcher and from there you may be able to select the external monitor.  Alternately, you could try running it, the path to it is %windir%\system32\displayswitch.exe under Microsoft Windows 7.

  • [X300 intel external display] Problem to display correctly 1600x1200px on external screen

    Hello everyone,
I have a problem with my external display on my X300 laptop...
    I have a X300 with WinXP, and a 20" 4/3 1600x1200 external display (Samsung 204B).
When I want to use my external display as an extended desktop, it didn't work well... First I configure my display as an extended ... into 1600x1200px resolution. As the ratio isn't 4/3 on the laptop, there is some border at the top and at the bottom of the external screen, consequenly there is an "lift" (when I go down the screen move down.. etc.). It's not very ..cool.
So there is an option into the graphic proprety to set the screen in "full screen : not keeping the proportions". But, in this case, my external screen display an ... triky ? There is still an "lift", but there is also two border on the right and the left of the screen, and the image quality isn't there. It's too deformed to can be read.

  • Portege 3440 Display driver problems (2nd Screen)

    Hello to the complet comunity.
I hope you will understand my post and will have not so big problems to understand it. I come from Germany.
The Toshiba is a very wonderful Notebook. But since I have updated it from Win98Se too Windows 2000 I have a porblem with the display driver. I want to expand my desktop to an external display. This was no Problem under Win98Se. But with Win 2000 Sp3 I did not get it working. I have dry a lot of divernt drivers. Of course also the drivers from the support page. In the displayproperties I can choose S3DuoView, but it doesnt work. The internal and externel display with the same picture is no problem. But I want seperate pictures, for a example with PowerPoint or only to have more place on the desktop.
Have somebody a woriking 3440 with Win2000 an two Displays.
Temporaly the actuell version 5.12.01.7048 is "working".
A new installation does not help. The same problem apears.
Thank you for reading this long text.
    Greetings Spothuhn

    Hi
I assume you want enable the extended desktop on your Portege.
You have suggested that the 5.12.01.7048 graphic driver is working.
On the Toshiba driver page I have found 2 different drivers for S3.
One version is 7.31.26 and the other driver is 5.12.1.7009.
I suggest that the 5.12 version is a little older. In this case try to install the 7.31 driver version. It would be very interesting to know if it will help.
Which BIOS version did you have installed on the unit? The newest version is 1.6.
Maybe the newest BIOS will help you.
    Bye

  • Second display via Thunderbolt "flashes" after EFI 1.7

I have a second display (Samsung SyncMaster 245BW) connected to my 27" iMac via Thunderbolt and a miniDisplay -> DVI connector.  I just recently got the 1.7 EFI software update and noticed that the second display will flash every 2 - 3 minutes.  Anyone else seeing this?  Should I revert back to the previous EFI?

KVM switches are either compatible with Macs or they are problematic at best.
I had a KVM here that when I switched to another screen/keyboard, the screen would stay black, until I disconnected and reconnected the Mac video cable. It was a PITA. Threw it in the trash eventually.
I now have a mini and a nettop Linux box, both connected to the same monitor with DVI and VGA respectively. The screens are switched with a button on the monitor. If I need a keyboard on the Linux box, I attach one, otherwise I ssh into it and use the Apple keyboard. There is a separate wireless USB mouse on the Linux box, as needed.
