Extigy Mixer resets bass,treble,fader to zero on resta

I had the Audigy 2NX installed and I did a complete de-installation and installed an Extigy with the original disk, then went to the web and got the three updates. I'm using the Extigy because I have a 5. sound system and the Audigy would NOT upmix external stereo to 5. sound, the Extigy does this with CMSS. When I restart the computer, the Creative Mixer resets three sliders (bass, treble, and fader) all the way down (off, off, rear). The other sliders on the mixer retain their settings. What is causing this and how can I fix it's

SB Live! 5.1 Bass/Treble turn g

Hello!
I've been using SBLi've! 5. for some about 2,5 years and everything was just wonderful. Till today morning. When i turn on computer and try to play my favourite RadioABF i didint hear enything. I turn winamp and my speakers to max. Still silence. When I turn on Creative Surround Mixer i realized that everything has change. Some chanels are disabled, turn to min. When I try to enable them I realized that Bass/Treble are turn off and there is no possibility to turn them on. It has happened for the first time. Also in windows sound settings Im not able to adjust or even turn on bass/trebles.
I have read some topic but they were about SB Li've 24bit, some people say that this soundcard does not support bass/treble in Surround Mixer. But SBLi've! 5. does support and Ive been using it for all the time whenever I want.
I try to uninstall all creative drivers (I even try step by step cleanswep/uninstall from the Technical issues written by Creative), install all drivers as I used to do but nothing has change. The strangest thing is at the end of instalation one of the process does not end (I use Device Menager to end it, only then instalation is finished). It doesnt happend before too...
Can anyone help me PLS?

Ok no help is needed enymore :smileyvery-happy: I realized that somehow my onboard buildin soundcard has turn on and doesnt allowed SB to work correctly. Ive turn off AC97 Audio in bios (something like that) and everything works just great. But the strangest thing is still unresolve... how does it happen that it changed itselfs...

What are the flat frequency settings for bass & treble knobs on X-Fi Elite Pro?

Ok, I have the X-Fi Elite Pro and I need to set its bass & treble levels (volume control panel) to a flat frequency response setting. I noticed that the default value given by creative is 50% for bass level and 50% for treble level. So, what is the flat frequency response setting for bass and treble knobs? 0% or 50%?

Ok, I get the picture. The reason why I asked this question came up when I bought a new set of monitors (the Edirol MA-15DBK). I found out that after changing speakers (I had a set of Philips SPC-3208) the new ones were set to 0% boost/cut for bass/treble, but the sound came out quite bassy in an almost irritating level. So, I thought that maybe my card's bass levels were somewhat boosted. I guess now some lower frequencies are revealed, so I have to take care of my room acoustics. However the reviews for the Edirols gave low bass levels, so this gets more complicated. I am still in a 30-days trial, so maybe I will have a look at the Gigaworks T40 series II and I'll see what happens then...

Adjusting bass/treble for Thunderbolt display speakers?

My new refurbished Thunderbolt display speakers cut out higher range of speaking voices. I had to return to using the Retina MacBook Pro speakers to hear a conversation over Skype. Is there a way to adjust the bass/treble balance?

No way with any stock software. Not sure if any third party software will work. However I have no issues with voice quality but I do not use Skype.

For the Audigy 2 NX , the tone controls are greyed out as this feature is not supported. You can use the Creative Graphic Equalizer application to do the bass and treble adjustments.

Greetings. I just installed a fresh new copy of Windows XP Professional-- and decided it was a good idea to upgrade from my Li've! value from 999 to a better sound card...At least so?I hoped. I purchased this card from Wal-Mart the other night, and if it's anything like the other sound cards purchased at mega-retailers, I am going to be in for a huge headache, aren't I?Anyway, to the point:? When I run creative diagnostics, both the left, and the right channel, come out of the left and right, and right and left channel, respecti'vely... I can take one ear off left, and hear "left channel" in my right channel, and vice versa. Problem #2: I am unable to adjust my bass or my treble on the sound card. I checked the FAQ, but I didn't see anything terribly relevant, unless of course I am just blind. I look forward to any help I can get from you great peoples. Thank you for reading my message. What about the inability to adjust bass and treble? I google'd a bunch of different phrases about Audigy SE cards, and it seems they don't have that functionality. Am I missing something here?I installed the EAX control panel and that didn't help. Edit: Okay, so the left and right channel part is my problem-- but I have a headset by Sennheiser that has such a small headphone jack, it has to be halfway plugged into the sound card, in order for me to get full audio. Advice needed with mix of Bass sound.

Apologies to all as I'm sure this is a 'newb' question, but I need help!
I'm at the final stages of mixing a track. It's all sounding great, apart from one small section in the middle, where the only sounds playing are the kick drum and bass sound.
It's House music, the bass sound is a regular fingered bass.
The problem is when certain lower notes are played, there seems to be too much 'sub-bass' and the speakers vibrate quite annoyingly. I've tested it, and it happens on nearly all speakers I've tried it on.
In the rest of the track, when other sounds are also in the mix with the bass, it is fine. It's just when the bass is alone it seems to cause this result.
I've tried EQing out the lower bass frequencies and fiddling a bit with compression, but I always seem to end up filtering out too much bass (in fact, even when I remove nearly all the lower bass frequencies, the 'annoying' vibration is still there), or removing all life from the original sound.
I know it's very hard to offer advice when just going off a flakey description, but any help would be appreciated.

Create a cycle containing your middle section. Open the channel EQ, and click the 'analyze' button. the analyze display should give you an approximation where the troublesome frequency is. Then select the appropriate band, and set the Q very narrow (higher number, probably around 50), and drag down the level to cut. Be quite extreme in cut dB.
Now slooowly drag the cut left-right around the frequency in question and you should be able to find the point where the resonance is reduced. Now tweak so that your cut is the minimum you can get away with, and fine tune.

Can't I save Audio (bass/treble) changes in Quicktime Pro???

I bought Quicktime Pro. They have some handy A/V controls. Cool! I enhanced the bass and treble settings for an AIFF file and I could NOT save the changes. Doh! Why in the world would a Pro program only let you change the playback and not the editing option??
Hopefully I am just overlooking something. I have an hour and a half long file that I want to adjust without chopping it into many pieces to throw into another program. THanks!!!

QuickTime version 6 allowed volume adjustments to be "saved" with the file. I hope this is just a "bug" in version 7.
You're not "overlooking" anything. It's "in there", just not "working" properly. I've tried with the same AppleScripts that worked with QT 6. No luck. Maybe in the next upgrade?

Does nano 5g support manual adjustment of bass & treble

I would like to purchase ipod nano 5g. Am aware that nano possess some 22 preset equalizers. But, does it have the facility to manually adjust bass and treble switching off the preset equalizer. I do not mean to tweak the equaliser to create a new setting.

No, it does not have manual equalizer/tone control settings.

Every time I press play or reset back to the start of my track the levels in the mix reset themselves to default levels

Ive just purchase logic and immediately loaded a midi file from an iPad app called MusicStudio. All fine except when I try to set a balance between the tracks in the mixer or using the inspector all the levels return to there original positions when I return to the start of the track. Im I missing something simple? help

Reset BufferedReader pointer back to zero

How do I reset the position of a BufferedReader object back to 0? For example, I want to do something with the BufferedReader object, namley use the read() method, and then once I do that, I would like to reset the pointer back to index 0 (or the beginning of my file).
I am using BufferedReader to open a file.
I tried using the reset() method, but that does not seem to work. I also used the skip() method, hoping to "skip" backwards, however that is not possible because you can only skip forward.

Yes, originally I got an IOException, that I simply caught.
Also, thanks for pointing out that the reset() method does not do what I want, meaning reset it back to the beggining of the file. So I have gotten absolutely nowhere.
Do you know how I could reset my marker back to the beginning of the file? What I actually want is to go back 9 characters in the file after I have made the call read().

SB Live 5.1 for Dell Vista driver questi

I've been reading this board and though many Sound Blaster issues are covered on it I don't think the specific issues I am having were discussed. Pardon me if they were. I have a Dell Dimension 4600 with the SB Li've 5. card for Dell. After updating my computer with a clean install of Vista Home Premium Vista did not recognize my card as a Soundblaster but as a "mulitmedia device". For a day or so I had no sound until suddenly Windows Update provided a driver for the Soundblaster 5., installed it and I had sound again. OK, not as good as before (no mixers, etc) but stereo sound and both my speakers and my subwoofer were functioning properly. Then, for reasons I won't get into here, I had to completely reinstall Vista again, once again a clean install. This time, after several days of no sound, Windows update did not provide any drivers. So I installed the original drivers provided by Dell and it installed the SB card and it worked, at least until I started getting BSODs and I was forced to uninstall it. Once again back to a "multimedia device" in Device Manager I tried every which way of getting MS to install its driver again with no luck. So this afternoon I installed drivers for xp and an update patch, both downloaded here from Creative and once again the SB works, though I have disabled it to avoid more blue screens. My questions:? Can I remove the drivers without removing the Sound Blaster card as a device in Device Manager so that Vista's Windows Update?will see it as a Sound Blaster card without a driver and provide the drivers as it did during the first installation? After I installed the Creative drivers I tried, though Device Manager, updating the drivers by having Windows Update search for them and the response I got from Windows Update was that I "have the latest drivers", clearly wrong. OK, Creative is not supporting the SB Li've 5. in Vista and I cannot use the Kx drivers because they do not support the Dell OEM Sound Blaster. Fooling Windows update seems to be the only way I can get around buying a new sound card at this point. Anyone have any suggestions?

Kx help files say the Sound Blaster OEM for Dell is not supported and I already tried it. I think I may have stumbled on something because the card now seems to be operating properly and though Device Manager lists the Creative driver for the card if you look inside at the Drii'ver Details, among the Creative files listed are two files by Microsoft, dmk.sys and portcls.sys that are clearly marked "vista_rtm", so somehow I may have gotten a mix of Creative and MS drivers since I have the very limited "mixer" that comes with the Vista SB driver. I am no techie, not by a long shot, but as long as the card works and I get no blue screens and no reports back from Security Manager complaining about a conflict I am going to leave everything just as it is. I don't play games and just need a sound card that works. It actually sounds pretty good now. I wish there was a mixer and bass/treble control but I can li've without it, especially since drivers really aren't finished for Vista. Thanks for your suggestions.

After my last reconfig, I tried to load the drivers for the sound card. I kept getting a problem with the computer restarting in mid-install. After finishing the install in Safe Mode, I went to load a midi file and my computer restarted without warning. After trying to upgrade to the new beta drivers, my computer restarted once more (stopping at the soundfont driver). Apparently, the SoundFont drivers no longer work in my setup. I'm currently using the MS GS Wavetable Synth for MIDI.

875P Neo-FIS2R sound settings

I just got this new board (875P Neo-FIS2R) and I'm mostly happy with it but just realize something... After installing all provided driver in the box, after running liveupdate3 to make sure all driver are up to date, I got a problem with the onboard sound... But before stepping to conclusion, I need your opinion/technical knowledge before buying a PCI soundcard like an Audigy...
First, I cannot find any sound mixer that can allow me to set the bass or treble, adjust the balance etc...(if I look at the windows default mixer, I got bass and treble but they cannot be change) Yes, I got this little icon from soundmax that allow me to change speaker setting (close together or far appart) and also I can change the environement setting like the sblive! and newer card to give specific ambient context like deep forest or bathroom (btw, for the last one, environnement setting, I can change to anything in the list but I do not hear any change... )
Second, for sound quality, I got chop and crop once in a while when I play mp3 or CD music... Generally, I found the sound to be bizarre...
So, maybe it's me, but I really need your opinion on this to figure out if I need to install something else or if it's just a limitaton of the onboard sound... I know asus P4C800 is also using Soundmax but the use the SoundMax 4XL which come with a great mixer and seems to be more convenient and versatil that the solution provided by MSI on this very high end board...

For wiring spec and speaker spec, I got a altec lansing sub + 2 satelite... wired with stock cable from altec lansing. Very common setup... I dont think that this is the issue... Before, I had a NFORCE2 chipset with the MCP-T as the southbridge, which had a great onboard sound setup. Sound was perfect and the mixer, also perfect (perfect for a gamer and mp3 playing) So, if anyone else confirm that there is no mixer (with bass/treble control), I will have to live with it... My next question would be: which PCI sound card do you recommend for great quality sound, 5.1,6.1 or 7.1, gaming performance and bug free with the 875P neo FIS2R ??
