Extra Blamk page in Duplex Mode

Hi,
We start to print the invoices in Duplex Mode. We get a right print of the invoices in  printing models that support duplex printing.
The bad behavior comes in printer models that not support Duplex. In this case we get an extra blank page after printing only in the first side of each page.
This question has many posts in the foruns but no one give me a definitive solution
Thank you for your answers

  • Smartforms - Extra Blank Page in DUPLEX mode

    Hello Friends,
I am printing my smartforms in DUPLEX page mode. Its printing fine but i am getting an extra blank page.
Searched the forum but no luck.
I have defined 3 pages Page1, PAGE_INST,Page2. I need to print instructions(say) on back of each page.
I had set page1 to duplex mode 'D' and next page to blank.
My pages flow is in the following way:
    page1>Page INST>Page2
Page 1 & 2 have main windows and have a command to print PAGE_INST.
Page_INST Does not has main window.
    Page1 : next Page 2.
Page INST : Next page is Page 2.
    Page2 : is a continuation of page 1 next window is blank(or page 2)
Its printing fine in Duplex but always there is a blank sheet in the print out at last page.
Can someone help me how to avoid the last blank page.
    Thanks

    Hi,
Define a first page named FIRST for a form to be printed in duplex mode. You therefore set the Print mode in FIRST to D.
To make the duplex printing work correctly, you must define a second page FOLLOWER in which Print mode is left empty. In the form definition, you specify FOLLOWER as the follow-on page for FIRST and for itself as well.
Your text is then printed in duplex mode. FIRST switches the printer to duplex mode and forces printing of the first page on the front side of a new sheet. FOLLOWER accepts the duplex mode and sends no further mode print controls to the printer. The printer therefore alternately prints FOLLOWER pages on the fronts and backs of sheets.

  • Printing SD Documents in DUPLEX mode

    Hallo,
i have a big trouble. If i want to print all pages in DUPLEX mode (via change in SE71), first page is printed separately in SIMPLEX mode(all of these pages are set to DUPLEX mode).
Standard attributes are: FIRST page then LAST page.
    Please help, thanks

    Hi,
I don't know, but a weird guess is:
Is it S/w-realeted issue or H/w-related..
    I think its printer-relaed.

  • Printing multiple copies of 3 page BOL in Duplex mode-

    Hi Gurus!
I have created a smartform to print the BOL on front side and terms and conditions on back side. I used the duplex mode to print and it works perfectly fine. When I have a BOL with 3 pages of information , it prints the items on the front side and terms and conditions on the second side and it does everything absolutely correctly.
At our organization we always print 5 copies of any BOL and that is when the problem arises. When we do a printing of the BOL form with number of copies set to 5 , it prints very akwardly with the settings. First it prints page 1 front and same thing on the back, then  again the first page on the first and its back and then front on the third side , then similarly 5 sides of terms and conditions and then followed by 5 sides of page 2 items and followed by 5 sides of terms and conditions, which is very akward. Actually it should print first set with page 1 and TC on back of it , then Page 2 and TC on its back and page 3 and TC on its side like it does when I make a single copy.
Is there any settings that I am missing thats making the above happen when I print multiple copies of the BOL?
    Please suggest.

    Hi!
Thanks for the reply. I changed the settings of the printer to 'Pass Copies as Separate Output Request(in SAP System)' and re-tried printing 5 copies of the BOL and it again seems to print the first page 5 sides then Terms and conditions on 5 sides, then again 5 sides of page 2 and followed by 5 sides of T&C.
My settings on the smartforms is front page "D' and the back and the Last page is blank setting. This runs well when I just have to print one copy of my BOL , it prints the front page and then T&C on its back side , then again the second page and T&C on its back . This only messes when its more than one copy of the set of BOL.
Please suggest as to what to do next to make it print in proper sets.
    Thanks and Regards
    Aarav

If i set page 'Next' duplex then the 3rd page is getting printed on the back side of the 2nd page.
So how can i Print the TC page on the backside of the Last Page.

  • P2055dn Locked in Duplex Mode

I have a LaserJet P2055dn printer with the duplexing unit installed.  I have it connected to my router and have two computers attached to the router; one with the Win 7 OS and one with Vista.
I can print from both machines directly to the network printer, but only in Duplex Mode.  No setting on either computer will allow me to print on only one side of the page.
I've uninstalled and reinstalled the software (downloaded from the HP site) several times, but that doesn't seem to make a difference; still no one sided printing.
The message boards indicate two other situations where this has occurred, but no answers were provided to either thread.
Can anyone help on this one?

I called HP Technical Support and  paid for the one year warranty extension as the printer was out of warranty.  It cost me $37.65.  She took control of my machine, dumped the driver, uninstalled all the HP software relating to the printer, and then downloaded and installed the software and driver.  It worked after she was done.
Uninstalling the software as well as the driver seemed to be the step I hadn't done.
I don't know if the software she downloaded and installed was the same software and driver that is available online. I know it wasn't the same as the software and driver that was on the DVD that came with the printer.
It was the best $38 I've spent in a long time!

  • Printing on the A5 in duplex mode on the printer HP1606dn

Good day! When you print on A5 format in duplex mode on the printer only prints HP1606dn second page - the printer does not return the page to be printed on the other side. When printing on A4 prints on both sides of the paper. Format settings before printing exhibited true. The problem is the driver? Installed Software 2012-10-17, Version 9.0
    Need help! FNX

Don't know the answer, just a comment:
    The User Guide manual states:
The printer driver only supports certain media sizes for automatic duplexing.
Use the manual duplexing procedure for media sizes not available in the printer driver
although it doesn't appear to say which sizes are affected!

  • Need Help...HP x476dw Printer and Duplex Mode

My printer won't stop printing in duplex mode.  I have disabled all duplex settings and it's still printing double sided.  Don't know where else to look????

From all of your apps or from one of them?  Where have you disabled the settings?  There are setting for page layour in apps (usually set to one page) and page settings on the HP (sest to duplex by default if my memory serves me on setup).

  • Configurations done at SAP gui level to print in duplex mode

    Hi Gurus,
We had a requirement to convert a printer to duplex mode, we changed all the settings at SAP level( kept duplex mode in printing mode and changed device type to SWAN (as post and pre2 device types are not available) ). But still we are not able to get the desired duplex mode.
Is there are any further settings or something done in server?
Is there any settings done at SAP gui to get the print as duplex from a report?
    Thanks in advance....

  • Print jetform in duplex mode

    Hi!
We have a multipage jetform (designed using Adobe Output designer) called from smartform. User has requested to print the pages as duplex rather than single page printing.
I explored all the options of setting "Output option" at the smartform page level but no luck. Many solutions on SDN are mentioning the same option but in reality it does not work.
If anyone has come across similar situation please share.

  • Print in duplex mode

    Hi experts,
I need to print on duplex mode ABAP list documents. My printer works with  HPLJ4 PCL5 driver  (ricoh Aficio 3045) on SAP but when i try to print on duplex mode (the printer properties are set to print on duplex by default) i can't get it.
I don't use Smart forms. On SPAD i have created a new device, the acces metod is F: Printing on front end computer,  the device type copy of original HPLJ4 to test it, but i only can get paper printed simplex.
    Please, Can you help me?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
The duplex settings in SPAD only work for device types that have the special list driver, Try using device type HPLJ4000 instead of HPLJ4 and create a new spool.

  • Printing an extra blank page at last in the report with result!

    Dear Team,
I have one report  ZFI_KKKKK  i.e working fine with the result.
The problem is that this report prints an extra blank page in the end of the report.
It should not print the extra empty page. Itu2019s a bit annoying for some users.
If you execute and print this and you will get a page with results and a blank page with just the title.
Any input from your side to rectify the issue?
    Thanks and Regards,

  • How do I "Print Booklet" with just odd pages and even pages for duplexing . . options disabled

I have InDesign CS5.5 on a Windows 7 64-bit machine hooked to a Xerox 7750 printer.  I have created a 8.5x11 portrait document and trying to create a booklet on 12x18 sheets.
I need to print duplex manually and so I need to print just the odd spreads and then the even spreads.
I have printed to Adobe PDF and printed from my created PDF file and have it working, but I want to know why InDesign won't let me do it.  When I click "File > Print Booklet > Print Settings" then it shows the Print Dialog box with the Pages section, which includes the Sequence that normally would allow me to do Odd Pages or Even Pages, but it is disabled.  Why?  I can define Print Presets and I can choose Odd Pages, but when I choose that in the Preset box it does not show anything, everything is still disabled.
Anybody have any idea of why it is disabled?  Is it my printer driver?

I too was very frustrated after upgrading to indesign cs5.5 and the latest LION OS on my new MAC.  I missed the odd/even page selection in the print dialog box within Indesign.  I tried about everything and found little of value in various forums.  But I did find a workable solution that makes since in terms of Apple's OS.
My objective is to "impose" my document and also end up with a file that I can just print again and again without "ripping" in the InDesign Print Booklet Dialog.
Here is the quick version of what to do.  I am not including every little step with pictures. =)  (I can if there is interest.)
    1. create your document
    2. Print Booklet
    3. At the first dialog box, just ignore the printer in print preset (you will come back to this) and go to the 2-up perfect bound option and select 16 page signatures.  This will impose 2-up on 4 physical pieces of paper printed both sides.  So 16 of your document pages printed duplex on 4 physical sheets of paper.  It would be nice to then just select the printer and scaling, etc. and the option to print even pages, flip over and then print odd pages but that ain't an option.  If you have different needs, do the math and input the correct numbers before proceeding
    4. Click on Print Settings  to pull up a second dialog box.
    5. Select for Printer PostScript File (not your printer)  Also select for PPD your printer or Adobe PDF 9 if you have that installed.  Don't obsess on this just pick your Printer for the PPD.
    6. Select 1 copy and All Pages while in the General Tab
    7. Select the Setup Tab Here is where you put in the actual physical paper size that you are going to print your document on. Don't scale to fit.  You must do this.  If you feel the need, check out all the tabs and options but for now, you are just trying to get an output file.  You probably do want to select CENTER for page position in this same setup tab.
    8. Hit OK whcih will return you to the original dialog.  Check when you return to be sure that at the top Printer is populated with PostScript File.  Click on Print and give the thing a name and a location to save at the resulting dialog.
Breathe as you are almost home.  You have sucessfully created a file that can be called up again and again without opening InDesign. (albeit, a postscript file but not a problem)
    Now,
    1. Double click on this new file (it will have a .ps extention) or just open it in your PREVIEW (apple supplied utility)   Preview is where you accomplish the even and odd page objective.
    2. Preview will show you a short progress dialog while it rips this postscript file into a PDF.
    3. Click on PRINT
    4. Select your printer, page range, select the Paper Size (again not document size  but  the size sheet that you are printing the 2-up , imposed (booklet) document on. If not in the selection dialog, then use the custom option to create it (custom paper size) and give it a name.
    5. Click on SCALE and insert 100% in place of the weird number that it will insert for you.  You will then see your document correctly displayed in the sidebar preview window.
    6.  OK, now what you have been waiting for. Click on the box that says Preview (the active window) and select Paper Handling from the drop-down and select from Pages to Print the coveted odd or even page selection.  You can also do other things that should have been back at the InDesign print dialog but are now gone.  Explore. Enjoy.
    7.  You will have to work out your own work flow about reverse or no reverse order and how to flip, etc. But you will be working with something predictable at this point.
    8.  Since this has been ripped into a PDF , you might as well Click on the PDF button and click on save as a PDF at this point to save that postscript to PDF rip.   Also print using PREVIEW for the newly created PDF file next time as you will not have to learn a bunch of new dialogs and be frustrated all over again.
I am now back in business printing the book blocks for my handbound journals.
