Extra Calendars

Hello, I have quite a full calendar with different names and work schedules on it. Suddenly one day, after printing, my iCal began to add an extra calendar that appears twice in one day. So that I already have mine, "Deanna 12-Close", then it will add another one that says " ...-Close " This extra calendar does not appear on the screen when I am adding/deleting calendars, but only appears on the print preview and then the print out.. so there is no way to delete it! It seems like a defect and what an annoying one!--does anyone know how to fix this?

Should all occurrences of the word "calendar" in this be taken to mean "event"?
Does the duplicate have the same name as the original, or literally the "...-Close"?
What calendar view have you? If not daily, have you looked at daily to see if the duplicate becomes visible?

  • How can I delete an extra calendar

Besides my normal calendar on iPad I accdently created a other one. Both gets synced with icloud.
My problem is that I cannot delete the extra calendar. Every time I delete it from my calendar app, its back in a few seconds from icloud.
I then deleted my entire icloud account and deleted the calender and it stayed away.
Then I created a new icloud account and the calender is back.
Really? You cannot do a simple thing like deleting a calendar?

I created the second calendar by deleting my main calender, turning off iCloud, creating a new calender and turning on iCloud again.
Then I had two calendars and none of them could be removed again from iPad or iCloud.
Actually I now managed to delete the empty calendar (thank you Windows).
But now iCloud is not getting updated from iPad.
I really miss my Google setup where everything worked logical.

  • I keep deleting extra calendars (the catagories on the left pannel) and they immediately reappear. i just want to remove all old calendars to clean up the interface.

If you erase the hard disk and you install a new Mac OS X copy, Time Machine will start a new backup and will stop using all backups you made in the past.
One option you have is to reinstall Mac OS X and restore a Time Machine backup, but restoring only some files: for example, instead of restoring everything, restore only your user files, and not your applications, so you will have more free space. Also, doing this, Time Machine will continue backing up to your old backup, because Time Machine will detect that you have "the same computer with the same files and the same Mac OS X version", but it's not.

  • Extra Calendars on dotMac

    Hi
When adding a calendar to my dotMac Group page, there are additional calendars i the list, many look like duplicates of some calendars in iCal.
Anyone know where these are stored and how to delete them safely?

    Okay... now, I'm going crazy....
I made this post it's own discussion, so I apologize if you're answering this question again.
I figured out how to delete a calendar from a device.  Between deleting from my iMac, my iPhone, and my iPad, I accidentally deleted some iCloud Calendars that I really need.
Any way I can get those back?
    Saving grace might be this....
My wife's phone has a copy of the calendar still... she never connected her phone with iCloud.  Is there a way I can copy an iCal calendar from an iPhone to my iMac and then turn it into an iCloud Calendar shared by all?

  • How do you get rid of extra calendars??

I've upgraded to 2.0, now I have several calendars on there that I don't need. They only seem to appear on the iPhone. Only two are valid calendars. How do I get rid of the rest?

I would try adding them back, then syncing the phone, then removing them from the computer, then syncing again.

  • Extra calendars appearing in iCal

I have a problem of proliferating calendars in iCal related to my various mail accounts. Two out of my 3 IMAP accounts have generated group entries in my iCal calendar list. One shows a single entry named "calendar" which I'm sure I didn't create, the other shows "Work" and "Mail To-Dos" which don't seem to correspond to any existing calendar or to do list.
Is there any way to make these entries disappear? I'm running 10.6 and sync to Mobile Me.
Obvously there is no delete option when I right-click on the calendar or group heading, and they do not exist as accounts in my iCal preferences.

As long as all the devices are logged into the same iCloud account, and are running Lion 10.7.2 or iOS5 as applicable, and have the calendar syncing turned on in System Preference (or Settings)>iCloud then they will all read the same calendars from the iCloud server.
If you have more than one iCloud account then it's still possible by Sharing.

  • Ios 5 firmware update, adding Extra Calendar!

I already updated my Ipod touch 4G to ios 5 but I selected United States as my country instead of Iran (in the introduction), and now I couln't have any access to the Persian Calendar which is available for those who selected Iran as their country (in the introduction of ios 5). What should I do? Unfortunately Apple doesn't allow us to select Iran as our country from any menu and choices of its new ios!? when I restore the firmware to view the introduction it doesn't show up!
So many thanks for your responses (in advance)

United States! That was mandatory to select USA, because I couldn't have any access to too many applications via other countries Apple id account!
for the second question, No, I didn't, because i could have missed the apps which had been synced with my iPod previously!! R U sure that by clicking "New iPod" settings, the introduction would be appear again?
    I'm so thankful 4 ur assists m8

  • How do I remove duplicate iCloud calendar entries in iTunes

Hello Everyone and thanks in advance for any help on this issue!
The main issue is that in iTunes>Devices>Info>Sync Calendars, I see of Local calendars listed and also iCloud calendars listed (they show a portion of the address (CalDAV?) that they use to sync), and the issue is that I have DUPLICATE iCloud calendar entries here and I would love to remove them.
    Here is my setup:
MBP with Lion and iPhone 3G with all updates.
All of my calendars sync with iCloud (I also have an iPad, but not issue with it.) and there are no duplicate calendars or events in iCloud on the web, so this is fine.
I sync my iCloud/iCal calendars to my iPhone 3G (iOS 4.2.1) via iTunes and this is going well, so no problems here, either.
I would just like to remove the duplicate iCloud calendars from iTunes under the Info pane so as to simplify life and my understanding. Also, there are other apps (like TimeTable) that go and read the master list of calendars. So, on this app, I see ALL of the calendars by name without being able to distinguish them any other way.
Any ideas as to how I can climb inside of iTunes and remove the duplicate iCloud calendar entries?
    Thanks!
    Blessings,
    Justin

I can confirm that there are no duplicate contacts. Currently, because I use an iPhone 3G, my contacts are only being synced via iTunes, not via iCloud.
My question relates not to duplicate calendar events, but to duplicate calendar addresses (in iCloud) in iTunes' Info pane.
    Here is a pic:
So, you can see that there are 2 entries for 'Personal', each with the iCloud address (CalDAV?) attached to it. Note that one entry says, 'Personal iCld' instead of just 'Personal'. This is because I renamed all of my iCloud calendars in iCal to see if that would help me distinguish the 'working' calendars from the duplicate entries.
I would love to be able to get rid of the extra calendars in iTunes to avoid confusion. I do not have any duplicate calendar entries on any devices at this point. I think part of this is because I have deslected the duplicate calendar references in iTunes.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Justin

  • Share calendar from a specific date

I am spending three months in the US visiting family. While I am here, I'd like to share certain calendars with my family members (doctor's appointments, social engagements, etc.), but don't want them to be able to see every such appointment I've had going back several years. When I start sharing a calendar, is it possible to only show it starting from a particular date? Or for a specific date range? I know I could create an extra calendar to use just for this, but I'd rather not have to do that if possible.
    Thanks!

    Hi,
The SearchQuery parameter specifies a search string or a query formatted. You can limit your search to specific types of files, such as "kind:email".

  • HT1414 appointments made on iphone are not syncing to the gmail calendar on my pc

When I put appointments on my Iphone, they do not sync to my calendar in gmail.  This was not a problem, until my gmail was hacked, and I had to change my password.  I changed the password on my phone also, but it seems this problem arose after this occurred.  I have rebooted the phone, tried deleting the account and reinstalling, updating my software.............and it still is a problem.  Any ideas?

I had the same problem you're having.  I recently changed my password on my Apple account and likely messed up my iCloud from syncing.  In exploring my Calendar on my Mac I seemed to have solved this problem.  I opened File and clicked on New Calendar. This gives you more options, such as iCloud, on my Mac, or Gmail.  I chose iCloud and my calendar synced immediately.  I now have an extra calendar on my Calendar, but it's working.

  • Deleting "on my phone" calendars

I sync my calendars via my MobileMe account. I used to sync from iCal via iTunes. There are several calendars on my phone listed as "on my phone" that I no longer need. I have gone to MobileMe and deleted the calendars, and I've gone to my iCal and deleted the unwanted calendars, but these old calendars still appear in the "on my iPhone" portion of the calendar feature. All I need to see are the MobileMe calendars. I have also gone into iTunes and deselected all the info boxes, as I do not want to sync directly from the Mac.
How do I get rid of the "on my iPhone" calendars in the phone?

I dont know if this helps you, but I found out how to get rid of one of the calendars.
You can't directly "get rid" of the calendar called "Calendar" that comes with the iPhone by default (though it says it's "From My Mac", it will appear even if you have no such calendar on your Mac), but you CAN get rid of it in a way, by tricking it.
SITUATION: You have an annoying, useless, empty default calendar on your iPhone called "Calendar" that you cannot rename or delete. You don't want extra calendars you don't use, because you like to keep things simple and streamlined between your iPhone and Mac.
STEPS (back up your calendars just in case. This worked for me, but crap happens!):
    1. Rename your calendar on your Mac to "Calendar" (make a backup first! I have not tried this with CalDav Calendars, but it works with a regular one that's just on your Mac).
    2. Sync with your iPhone.
    3. The "Calendar" calendar on your iPhone should now contain all the events from the "Calendar" calendar on your Mac (iPhone seems to be smart that way and match them up instead of making a duplicate).
    4. On your Mac, rename "Calendar" to whatever name you want (e.g. whatever you had it named as before).
    5. Sync with your iPhone again.
    6. The original "Calendar" calendar on the iPhone should be gone, leaving your iPhone with your custom named calendar, and no random empty default iPhone calendar called Calendar. You should be able to add events on your iPhone that sync to your Mac when you sync your iPhone and vice versa (I was able to). In reality, the calendar isn't deleted, just tricked into having a different name.
I hope that helps and is not too confusing!

  • Can't get shared Gmail calendars to work (Exchange)

Long time Android user bought an iPhone 5 last night. Having serious trouble getting shared Google calendars to display.
I have my Google account set up as Exchange. That seemed to go through smoothly and my main Google calendar shows up just fine. I then went to https://www.google.com/calendar/iphoneselect and all of my calendars appear. I put checkboxes in the ones I wanted to sync to my iPhone, but they did not show up in my iPhone Calendar app. Waited and waited, never showed up.
I even deleted my Exchange account completely and re-added it. Still, only the primary calendar shows up in Exchange.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I've been to that iphoneselect website from both my iPhone using the Safari browser, and from my computer using Chrome browser, and both browsers show the calendars I want to sync as having check marks in the boxes. Those calendars simply do not sync. Is there possibly some issue with Google not being aware that I have an iPhone since I had an Android for so long?
If I go to m.google.com/sync from my iPhone browser, it does not show up with a device select page. It just shows up with a generic Google sync page, where I can click a "Calendar" icon, then choose "Sync with a mobile device," then choose "Apple device" and it takes me to a settings page that ultimately leads me to the same check box webpage ashttps://www.google.com/calendar/iphoneselect. Which, as I said, already shows check marks in the calendars that I want.
I read this entire thread: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4310898?start=45&tstart=0.  It seems to suggest that Google or Apple is making it so you cannot get shared calendars using Exchange any more, and that you have to do it by setting up a new account for calendars as just a regular "Gmail" account (instead of Exchange).
Anybody know how to fix this?  Is it not possible to view multiple calendars using Exchange anymore??

I was able to get my shared calendars to show up in my iPhone Calendar list only after visiting https://m.google.com/sync/settings/iconfig/ in the iPhone Safari browser.  That page lets me manage the Google Sync devices (e.g. iPhone, iPad), each has its own Settings page where I must click the checkbox to sync each shared calendar.  Once I saved those device-specific settings, I was able to see the extra calendars on the iPhone.

  • IPhone5 IOS 6.0.1 shared google calendar does not show

    Anyone solution for this?

  • How do I remove duplicate calendars from my iPod Touch?

I just synced iCal with my iPod after removing mobile me and now I have duplicate calendars on my iPod Touch. How can I remove these calendars? My iPod has one set of calendars that is called "On my iPod Touch" and another set (exactly the same) called "untitled account". I'd like to remove the untitled account and I would like to know if there's something I should change to avoid the duplication in the future. Thanks.

If the calendar still exists in iCal, delete it there and then sync your iPod. That should eliminate the extra calendar(s).
If that doesn't do it, make sure iCal is setup the way you want it and then do the following:
    1. With your iPod recognized by iTunes, click on the Info tab in iTunes.
    2. Scroll to the bottom of the page
    3. Check the box on the application that you want to overwrite data on the iPod
    4. Sync your iPod
That box will not stay checked so you don't need to worry about accidently doing it again.

  • Lost Events and Calendars

I was having problems with deleted events that kept reappearing so I went to Home then Library then Preferences and dragged these to desktop:
    com.apple.iCal.helper.plist
    com.apple.iCal.sources.plist
    com.apple.iCal.alarmsCache.plist
    com.apple.iCal.plistcom.apple.iCal.AlarmScheduler.plist
This didn't help and all my events and extra calendars have disappeared. The Home and Work calendars are listed, but all the events are gone. I moved the above out of the desktop and put them back into the Preferences folder, but that didn't help. Still no events. I tried checking this out in a different user, but the events are still gone. I did a restart and that didn't help either. I'm not syncing. How can I get all my events and calendars back? I'm running OS 10.3.9.

I've had the exact same issue -- I had calendars last week, now nothing (and I can't add any calendars, even though it's my home computer and I have the admin password, of course.) I thought it might have been caused by Yahoo!, Google, or my 3rd-party software (Missing Sync) but I think you have at least allowed me to narrow it down to Google.
Did you ever get your issue resolved?
