Extra Channel Catch Up Missing

Catch up for extra channels on BT vision missing from today.
Have turned off and on the Youview Box still not there.
In the absence of not being able to record these channels now no catchup is very disappointing.

No idea never really looked at it much as there is so little content.

Early cut off when recording on extra channels

I have noticed that when recording on the extra BT channels eg Sony etc that they cut off the recording in the closing minutes of the programme. Also they may start slightly late which means missing one end of the programme. Why is this?

According to Youview experts:
The (Freeview) EPG is managed and broadcast by Digital UK who are licensed by Ofcom to provide this service.
Providing EPG data
The EPG/schedule data is collated and a complete set of data to be carried on each of the multiplexes on the platform is published. The result is that whatever multiplex a viewer is watching they always have the latest set of schedules available via the EPG.
Digital UK handles the full suite of event descriptors listed in D-Book from basic details such as the title, synopsis and TX time of each event, to the data for clash management and series recordings for Freeview+ and Freeview+HD products.
Standard offering includes real-time response to schedule data delivery and web-portal for monitoring. Options in terms of connectivity to the collator and enhanced triggering of now/next data are also available.
The EPG can be updated several times a day or more if necessary. If the broadcaster has opted for enhanced triggering (and therefore is permanently connected to Digital UK’s systems) these triggers are updated and broadcast dynamically.
It is not mandatory for broadcasters to provide NOW/NEXT info. If the data isn’t provided then the EPG scheduled time triggers NOW/NEXT.
However ...according to Youview personal
All UK digital terrestrial (aka Freeview) broadcasters supply now and next information using a system called "EIT PF" ("Event Information Table - Present Following"). It's not optional.
And all recordings on YouView are triggered from that data - there's only one system as far as the box is concerned. However, the accuracy of those signals varies between broadcasters (acknowledged by YouView and the broadcasters)
The questions for BT are ...(1) .do all the extra channels that BT transmit use the EIT PF system ?
-(2) do BT's own channels use the EIT PF system ?
- (3) do BT Sport channels utilize enhanced triggering of now/next data?
It has proved very difficult to get a precise answer to such questions ?

Extra Channels - constant "You have lost connectio...

The Extra Channels are now driving me and my Mrs (her more than me) mad. From getting a very rare and occasional "you have lost connection" message and frozen screen, I am now getting this error cropping up almost every 10 minutes.
My setup (now) is:
Infinity 2, 76 down, 17 up. Has been like this and 100% stable since installation in March.
Vision box connected by long ethernet cable (about 20m) to port 1 on the HH3
8-port Gigabit Switch connected to port 4 on the HH3
Wifi not enabled on HH3 - using Apple Airport Extreme/Time Capsule to use 5Ghz
TV/DVD in lounge and TV/WD box in bedroom connected to the Gigabit switch via Netgear Powerline
I originally had my Vision+ box connected to the switch via Powerline, but about 3 weeks ago (when this issue really raised its ugly head) my vision+ box threw up a message saying it was no longer connected to the internet, check connections, blah blah. Checking on the HH3 showed that the box indeed wasn't connected. Power cycling the box, HH3 and the Powerlines wouldn't remedy the situation, even though everything else was working 100% - TV would connect and stream Netflix, BBC iPlayer etc. So in desperation, I laid in a 20m ethernet from the Vision+ to the HH3. Initially, it still wouldn't connect, but after another couple of HH3 and Vision+ reboots, it connected and all was well - well, sort of.
From that point on, the "You've lost connection to this channel (VMC011) errors have been getting worse, until yesterday, you could barely watch a programme without the damned thing dropping out.
So, contacted Vision+ support in India - do all the usual stuff off his script, but it still hasn't resolved, so he said he'd escallate to 2nd line and they'd phone me today. No call (real surprise there).
So, call back, again have to do all the usual - power off the VDSL modem, HH3, Vision+, back on etc. He then claimed he'd 'reset' the service from his end and 99.9% sure that would 'cure' the problem. Well, guess what - it hasn't.
Since my call to India at 2pm, I have had disconnections at 14:26, 14:51, 15:16, 15:34 and now just at 16:06.
No amount of 'force resync' gets it working, nor does changing channel. The only thing I can do is to wait for the stream to restart, and it usually does with lots of pixellated/garbage picture for about 10 seconds or so before it clears and is watchable again. This 'outage' lasts between 2 minutes and 8 minutes.
Whilst this is happening, there is no continual stream of data on the LAN1 led on the VDSL modem - just the occasional short burst of data, which is coming from the Vision+ box as if I unplug it from port 1, this 'polling' stops.
This is going to be a nightmare once the sport starts - but I'm now getting aggro from my Mrs (who is recovering from Cancer treatment so tends to watch quite a bit of 'her' telly) as she quite rightly feels we are paying for a service we are barely getting. Because of the long and unweildy cable, I'm stumping up £120 or whatever to have my master socket/VDSL modem/HH3 moved adjacent to the TV as this was initially suggested as a fix, and BT are coming out Monday (supposedly) to do this work. But I can't believe this will effect a cure as I can happily watch Netflix or iPlayer without any issues whilst the Vision+ box is dropping it's stream.
I cannot believe this is the 'standard' of service that most subscribers are getting - and I believe this is an exchange or equipment issue, but all India seem capable of doing is reading dummy instructions from their script and 'resetting' the service (whatever that means) - it needs an engineer in the exchange with a data monitor to see what is going on.
Problem as I see it is that on our FTTC cab, there are not many subscribers (yet - I was No. 2 and an Openreach engineer was No. 1) and from what I understand, no other Vision+ subscribers, though that will probably change when Sport is activated. So because of this I doubt that BT are getting any other complaints.
The cynic in me thinks that the new HH4 is being released to cater for all the 'new' BT Sport subscribers as there is an issue with the HH3. Wonder if the HH3 is just not up to handling the multicast stream properly?
Anyone got any sure fire methods of escallating this?

Do Extra Channels have subtitles ?

Can anyone tell me whether the extra Channels such as Fox, Alibi, Gold etc have subtitles ?
Cant seem to find any information.

I thinking of ditching sky and taking out bt tv instead - it wiould work out about £30/month cheaper.

iCloud backup automatically saves your pictures, but you only get 5GB. What i'd reccomend is that you put those pics on flickr or Facebook, so you can access them anywhere, and i know at least facebook has auto upload as an option, so that any time you take a picture, it saves it to that.
Goals: Choose FB, Dropbox, Picasa, or Flickr, then enable auto upload.
In settings-icloud-storage and backup, deselect camera roll.
End result: Photos available anywhere, backed up safely, and your phone backs up.

TV extra players catch up question

Just had a look at the TV extra players catch up and I have noticed that there is nonlonger an HD version of the extra TV players catch up. Has BT stopped doing the HD version of the extra TV players catch up.
I do have the TV entertainment pack as well as the HD extra bolt on. I'm sure the extra TV players catch up HD version was there the other week when I looked.

I noticed this too, it appears if you have HD and go into what you want to watch you only get the HD option. They have done this to clear up the interface and not have loads of options.

Extra channels on youview - any news on when ?

Is there any news on when the "extra channels" will be available on youview ?

This is copied and pasted from the email I was sent on 14th June:
"...we wanted to let you know that the Extra Channels on YouView will only be available, along with BT Sport from August.
We want your TV service to be up and running before then so we have given you TV packages that will work now and on 1 August we will swap them over."
Apparently, this means that I am being billed for the "Essentials" package for the time being, but will be transferred to the "Essentials Extra" package on 1st August when the extra channels will be made available.

Channel Strip Settings missing 'Legacy' option

I am missing a large amount of options from my Channel strip settings drop down menu, a normal click gives me the following on a software instrument channel:
When I hold alt and click I get the following:
I am not being given the option 'Legacy' or other options I have seen being used from this menu. Is there a way to customise what options you can have in this menu, and if so where can I edit them?

Why does Quad surround output 2 extra channels?

I'm running Logic Pro X, and when I try to bounce my project as an interleaved quadraphonic surround file, instead of 4 channels, the final file has 6. I know that this is due to the fact that Logic considers the "Center" and "LFE" tracks to be separate from the other surround tracks, but for my purposes I absolutely need the file to be only 4 channels. Is there some way to stop quad from outputting the extra two channels?

The way that the scaling works for DAQmx tasks changed somewhere between DAQmx 7.? and DAQmx 8.8.
At least it did for analog inputs anyway.
Check if any scale is applied to your analog output task. Try changing it.

LPX channel strip presets missing (but L9 Legacy strips are showing!)

Hi Guys,
I would be grateful for any advice on something that seems to have gone a little wrong with my LPX installation...
Prior to installing LPX, I removed Logic Pro 9 completely (using instructions from Eriksimon to ensure that all L9-related folders had been removed). I then went ahead and installed LPX, including the "Legacy" downloads to support L9 settings.
I now have a strange situation where the LPX channel strip presets are not showing up in the "Setting" menu found at the top of each channel. However, they are showing up when I show the Library view!
In both views, the L9 "Legacy" settings ARE showing up!
I've taken some screen shots to better illustrate what I am seeing:
1. Here's what I see when I click on the "settings" button of a channel. I've gone into the subsequent menu levels just to show what comes next.
The concern I have is that in that first menu, I am expecting to see the channel strip "categories" for LPX, but all I am seeing there is a single "Legacy" category (containing all the L9 presets:
2. Here's what I see when I click on a channel and then open the Library. When I do this, it appears that all the LPX channel strip categories do show up...
(This suggests to me that the channel strip content for LPX has downloaded successfully, but for some reason it's only appearing in the library, not the settings menu itself)
3. Out of interest, I also tried clicking OPTION+Settings, which I would usually expect to show all strip presets (rather than limiting to track type)... again, when I do this, each of the categories is only offering the "Legacy" content, not the LPX content:
I'm not quite sure what's going wrong.
I am pretty confident that this is not due to the fact that I completely removed L9 before installing LPX - because all the L9 Legacy content is showing up fine, it's the LPX settings that appear only in the Library, and not the channel strip settings menu itself.
If anyone has any thoughts on what's happenening, or a possible way to resolve this, I'd be very grateful!

Hi all,
I've just had a chance to check out a Friend's installation of LPX - it seems that what I have described above is the way LPX handles presets... rather than showing the categories and sub-categories when you click on the "Settings" button in a channel, this is all now managed within the library.
Hope this is of help to anyone else coming from an earlier version of Logic Pro!

I/O Channel Clock is missing scans

hi everybody,
I am using an external channel to clock an analogue data aquisition. However, I have found that when this external channel frequency increases to above a certain level, the channels that are scanned are not scanned at the same frequency but lower. e.g. if the clock channel were 20Hz there would only be 15 samples logged per second (note this is only an example). Could anyone tell me why this is happening?

Looks like you may have gotten into the wrong category. I think DAQ might be better.

Is my DAQmx channel property node missing RTD?

Should RTD be available in the menu shown? I do not have an RTD hooked up right now; could this be the problem? However, I don't have a thermistor or a thermocouple and those options show up. I am trying to set A, B, C and R0 programmatically.

Thanks, Brad. I'm just using the 6009 for testing because I have it available in-house. Ultimately this code will be used with scxi. But this is very helpful since I am developing using DAQmx without the hardware attached, and. I'm sure this is not the last time I will be doing this. Thanks again!

Qosmio G20-115: TV Tuner is missing 1 or 2 channels

Our qosmio g20 tv tuner is missing 1 or 2 channels, I'd understand if it doesn't get the channel with a bad reception on our normal tv but the channel it's missing is one of the clearest one.
I've done the scan twice and still no luck.
We have an antennae on the roof, and its been checked by a proffesional person and came up in perfect order.
Anyone got any ideas on how to solve this issue?

In this forum,I can see a lot of people that have problem with the G20 tv reception.
I can look all the English channels but the quality is very poor.
If you use the G20 as a desktop computer like me,forget the G20 tv tuner and buy a (£35/40) freeview box.
I receive marvelous images from a satellite/free box with a parabolic antenna, via 'S-Video-in port'
and marvelous images too,from a 'freeview terrestrial digital box' with a very normal antenna, via 'Monitor-in port'
If the antenna work fine with digital transmissions that are notoriously more difficult
to receive, it would must to receive fine the analog transmissions and, in my case, it's true for a normal television,
but it's not true with the G20 TV card!
Is possible that you need a 'Scart to phono' adaptor, depend which exit has your top/box.
I can jump from one top/box to another by using the utility:
"All Programs/TOSHIBA/Utilities/Picture Enhancement Utility"
then I click to: 'Monitor input setting' and I can choose: "Monitor-in" or "S-Video-in".
The G20 is a wonderful machine with a wonderful screen, but in my opinion it has a low tv card.

Communication channels missing

In performing some cache refreshes, all of the communication channels have gone missing from the communication channel monitor. They still show up in the integration directory though. Can someone help me on how to get these channels back into the monitor?

You may please follow below steps and as per i see nothing went wrong.
1. If you have not yet performed full CPACache refresh...you may please perform once again

2. after, please execute below URL to re-initialize your RWB (runtime work bench)
http://<PI system name>:<http port>/rwb/rtc?op=init
3. If still you do not see any change, then my last take would be....in ID, please open all your communication channels one by one and put some dummy entry in the description field and activate the channel. You need to perform this for all channels.
revert back if problem persists.

Channels missing

I installed BT Vision a couple of days ago. Everything is working fine - including getting access to the two sports channels using a viewing card - but I can only receive a few of the other channels. I can't get any of the BBC channels, ITV 1, ITV 2 or C4 etc. - when I type in the relevant channel numbers, a message on the box appears saying 'unavailable'. The only ones I can get are ITV3, ITV4, Film 4 and a handful of shopping channels!
I know my aerial is fine, as it is less than 3 years old and I can get all the channels on my TV's tuner and the tuner on my HDD recorder without any problems. I've tried re-booting and re-scanning a number of times without any change.
Is this a common problem? I'd be grateful for any suggestions! Thanks in advance.

i hope you have more luck than i am having i use to get all the hd channells and the extra channels but mid july they stopped i am now waitng for someone from "level 3" to get in touch but not holding my breath 1 thing you could try next time you phone is ask for the level 2 direct line no AND THE CURRENT PIN NO it will save you ages waiting for someone to talk to,,,, best of luck
