Extra line space appearing - Help!

Hiya,
Can anyone help.  When in Contribute, I have edited and have deleted a line space using 'shift+enter', it shows as having no line space in Contribute, but when it publishes - lo and behold - a line space appears.
Can anyone help me resolve this please?
Thanks,
Ali

Try this:  After your edit, hit F5 to redraw the page and be sure that things are as you wanted.  You may discover that there is still an extra line that you have to deal with....

  • Please help: Extra Line Space after bolded word

I am in the process of editing a book manuscript in MS Word 2010, and there is an annoying problem that I cannot solve. I have tampered with all the line spacing options, but I'm at a loss.
When I bold a word, it introduces an extra little line space before the proceeding line. When I unbold the word, the space goes away. Has anyone encountered a similar issue? And is there an easy fix?
    Thanks very much,
    Jon

Are you saying that the line spacing changes when you apply bold formatting? Try a different font. Or you could specify a fixed value for line spacing (choose the "Exactly" option in the Paragraph dialog box).

  • Extra Line Items Appearing in Invoice

    Dear Experts,
For certain Invoices extra line items are appearing which is not part of our product.
Example I have created an invoice for OPCBULK
but in invoice it is appearing as
    OPCBULK -
    OPC (BULK)H.2
    OPC (BULK)H2
    OPC (BULK)H
What can be the issue here. Please help. Thanks.

    Hi,
I think you are creating invoice with reference to delivery document and in delivery document you have maintain batch split so batch split items are appearing in invoice.

  • Outlook New email extra line space

When composing a New email under Outlook 2007 the line spacing between sentences is too large, as shown in the screenshot below. Can this spacing be changed?
I have checked the paragraph line space settings (single) and the style (Normal). I have tried HTML and Rich Text formats.
When replying to emails the line spacing between sentences is fine.

In Outlook check the following settings:
Tools -> Options, open "Mail Format" tab and click "Stationary and Fonts". In the
New Mail Messages section click the "Font" button and in the new windows click "Character Spacing". Check your settings there.
    Hope it helps you.

  • Transparent captions and extra line spacing

When I use transparent captions, the published version
sometimes shows some extra line space between the first and second
lines. The remaining lines are spaced evenly, but the first one has
too much space, which looks strange. How do I make that go away?
    lae

I just had this same issue. Did you, by chance, do a copy
& paste into the text caption? That's what I did with exactly
the result you're experiencing. For marketing/flow purposes I
couldn't change my font, so for me that wasn't the issue. I did,
however, retype the entire caption and that solved my issue. Maybe
this will work for you as well.

  • How to extract ALL text on a line, including extra white space, from PDF?

I have written my first scripts to parse thru PDF files and successfully locate the beginning and ending of text portions that I wish to copy/extract.  For example, one of the scripts reads thru PDF files and locates patterns that allow me to copy/extract a lengthy Title that spans several lines on the page.  My remaining problem is that sometimes the text I wish to copy/extract has tabs or lots of white space between the words, and I need to retain ALL the "white space" between words.  Basically, I am successful at using getPageNthWord(j, i, false) along with "Quad coordinate sets" to get a word-at-a-time for all the words on the multiple lines but it seems to be skipping over the tabs and extra white spacing beetween the words.   Another way to say this is that I need to extract/copy a full line at a time, including all white space, instead of being limited to just a word at a time.
Can anyone help me with an algorithm to extract/copy text, not just the words but also including tabs and other extra white space characters? Is there some type of Regular Expression I should be using, or maybe some additional parameter used for getPageNthWord that would retain all the extra white space?
    Thanks in advance,
    Ted L

Did you try setting the bStrip parameter of getPageNthWord to false? It will
preserve some of the whitespace, but not all of it.
As far as I know, that's the only way to do it via a script.

  • Spaces/line breaks appear in Contribute

I'm seeing extra line breaks/line feeds when browsing and
editing a table filled with addresses and phone numbers in
Contribute. The page appears fine in my web browsers (IE, FF &
Opera). The page shows the line breaks in my clients Contribute and
her web browser as well. I tried tweaking the style sheet to see if
that would help - had no effect. Anyone else see this?

I am seeing the same thing. My client uses Contribute 3 to
edit/update pages. When I view source there are huge numbers of
line breaks/line feeds in his tables. He uses WinXP, and the FTP
function in Contribute 3. I'm browsing this forum to see if anyone

  • !!!Help!!! Cells have extra bottom space

My site has a header. This header is a table formed by 1 row
and 2 cells. One of the cells has only one image, but the other has
a nested table with two other cells, having, each one, one image.
Anyway, this is what my header is looking like:
    See
    this image.
I've set the background color of the nested table's upper
cell to yellow, and the bottom cell's background color to blue (as
you can see in the image).
NOTE: These colors are only for understanding better the
    problem.
As you can see, the images have a 3 pixel extra (bottom)
space. I've tried everything to eliminate it (messing with the
height attributes), but still haven't figured what could it be...
Does anyone know what the problem could be?
EDIT: This only happens with Firefox. With Dreamweaver and
IExplorer, the extra (bottom) space, doesn't appear.
This is the table code (it isn't important, since the error
probably doesn't come from here) and the code of the CSS tags that
apply (probably the source of the problem is here)...:

  • New line break and extra blank space characters disappear after submit form?

    Hello,
I have a PDF form with a Submit button that is dynamically created in my code to send the form data to the server in HTML format.
After the form data is received on the server side, all strings with new line break and extra blank spaces are gone.
For example, if I enter string in a text field as shown below on the form:
    Hello   ,
    this is
        just a
    test
After the form data is sent to the server, this string would become:
Hello , this is just a test
New line breaks are gone. Also, if there is more than 1 blank space character between 2 characters, the extra blank space characters would be removed as well.
It does not only happen to multi-line text field, even with single-line text field. If I have a string like this in a single-line text field:
Hello         this is just              a         test
After the form data is sent to the server, it would become:
Hello this is just a test
The form is created in OpenOffice then converted to PDF. The Submit button is created in my program using iText.  I have no idea it is iText that trims my string or PDF itself does it.
Can anyone give me any possible explanation? Thanks.

That is not what I get. Since it's URL-encoded, spaces are represented by the "+" character and carriage returns are represented by the "%0d%0a" (cr/lf) sequence.
Are you looking at the actual data that getting sent to the server or the output from the server after it processes it?

  • Please Help Xml output with extra lines after removeNodeChild

Hi guys. I'm having trouble googling this out.
Here is the problem. Given an xml document. I read it on my app and manipulate it, then save it when I am done.
When I remove a child, the output files shows all the extra lines from the formatting and indent. So it looks like a big hole in the xml file after the node is removed. Here is an example

    Node parentNode = jonStewartNode.getParentNode();
parentNode.removeChild (jonStewartNode); The result of this is the following xml.

How can I output the xml without this extra lines?

I have an rtf template which is used to print output in pdf format. I have a table which has many rows which displays data for each record. In order to avoid breaking the page in between the rows of a record , i have added an outer table with single row and column and pasted the data table inside it and changed the row property of outer table to 'Allow Rows to Break Across Pages' to unchecked. It works fine only if the first record set length does not exceed a full page. IF the first record expanded to more than one page, it leaves a blank page at the very first and start the record at the second page. Can you please advise how to solve this issue. Its very URGENT please..

  • Please reply:how to avoid extra trailing spaces while using cursor sharing

i am using cursor sharing with FORCE or SIMILAR.
what is the solution to avoid extra trailing spaces without any java code change.
do we have any option in oracle to avoid extra trailing spaces during the query processing ?
    I am using Oracle 10g
CURSOR SHARING is a feature in which multiple sql statements
which are same will have a shared cursor (in the library cache) for an oracle session,
i.e, the first three steps of the sql processing (hard parse, soft parse, optimization)
will be done only the first time that kind of statement is executed.
There are two ways in which similar SQL statements with different condition values can be made to "SHARE" cursor during execution:
    1. Writing SQLs with Bind Variables: SQLs having no hard coded literals in them
    For e.g., the query below
    SELECT node.emp_name AS configid
    FROM emp node
    WHERE emp_no = :1
    AND dept_no =
    DECODE (SUBSTR (:2, 1, 3),
    :3, :4,
    (SELECT MAX (dept_no)
    FROM emp
    WHERE emp_no = :5 AND dept_no <= :6)
    AND node.dept_type = :7
    ORDER BY node.emp_name
Here all the variables are dynamically bound during the execution. The ":X" represents BIND Variable and the actual values are bound to the SQL only at the 4th step of the execution of the SQL.
In applications: The queries written with "?" as bind variables will be converted into ":X" and are sqls with Bind Variables.
    2. The CURSOR_SHARING parameter: Only Useful for SQL statements containing literals:
    For eg., the query below:
    SELECT node.emp_name AS configid
    FROM emp node
    WHERE emp_no = 'H200'
    AND dept_no =
    DECODE (SUBSTR (:1, 1, 3),
    'PLN', :2,
    (SELECT MAX (dept_no)
    FROM emp
    WHERE emp_no = :3 AND dept_no <= :4)
    AND node.dept_type = :5
    ORDER BY node.emp_name
In the query above, there are two hard coded literals H200 , PLN. In this case when the same SQL executed with different values like (H2003 , PLN), oracle will create a new cursor for this statement and all the first three steps ( hard & soft parse and optimization plan) needs to be done again.
This can be avoided by changing the CURSOR_SHARING parameter which can be set to any of three values:
    1. EXACT: Causes the mechanism not be used, i.e. no cursor sharing for statements with different literals. This is the default value.
    2. FORCE: Causes unconditional sharing of SQL statements that only differ in literals.
    3. SIMILAR: Causes cursor sharing to take place when this is known not to have any impact on optimization.
So, FORCE and SIMILAR values of the parameter will be helping in cursor sharing and improve the performance of the SQLs having literals.
But here the problem arises if we use the FORCE and SIMILAR other than EXACT.
    alter session set cursor_sharing ='EXACT'
    select 1 from dual;
    '1'
    1
    alter session set curson_sharing='FORCE'
    select 2 from dual;
    '2'
    2
    alter session set curson_sharing='SIMILAR'
    select 3 from dual;
    '3'
    3
So, this will give extra trailing spaces in when we retrieve from java method and any
further java processing based on the hardcoded literal values will fail. this needs lot of
effort in remodifying the existing millions of lines of code.
My question is i have to use cursor sharing with FORCE or SIMILAR and can't we do the trimming
from the oracle query processing level ?
please help me on this ?

Thank You Very Much for enlightening me to the "-s" flag, that solved the problem...

    45.xxx.46.204
( 1 ) Sure enough I was missing the "-s" flag, I kept thinking it was something to do with the pipes because if I just entered

    <html><head><title>Current IP Check</title></head><body>Current IP Address: 45.xxx.46.204</body></html>
( 2 ) It did not add the extra lines. They only appeared when I added a pipe. How bizarre...
( 3 ) Once I looked at the man pages the "-s" became more obvious. It is still odd...
    [2007.15.05](06:21PM) -> [username] ~ $ man curl
    -s/--silent
Silent mode. Don't show progress meter or error messages. Makes Curl mute.
If this option is used twice, the second will again disable mute.

  • How do you get Mail to single vs double line space?

I'm new to Mail and finding it frustrating.
Sometimes I hit carriage return and get a single line space like
this and at other times I get a double
line space like that. I've tried Rich Text, Plain text settings and neither seem to have a predictable effect.
What is this. It is so unintuitive and well... wrong. If I want double spacing, I'll hit my Return key twice. I don't want line spacing forced on me.
    Thanks,
    Steven

I could not find any way to add to my previous question so I replied to it.  I'm having trouble selecting, copying and pasteing text.  It comes in without formatting to the font in use where it is pasted.  It comes in underlined and the underline cannot be removed.  It comes with extra blank line before and after.  If I do underline text there is no way to remove the underline.  When I try to paste my serial number to get apple help it doesn't work any more so I have to type it in.  OSX knows what the serial number is so why doesn't just put it in there?
Many thing I try to do in OSX seems to be so restricted that I can hardly do anything I'm use to doing in Windows.  icloud is a joke for storage with all the restrictions on it.  Can't even look to see what is in it.
