Extra locations appear in Places

I'm trying to tag some Photos with the "Fifteen London" restaurant. I entered the address (15 Westland Place, London), drop the pin and create the place, but "London Bourough of Hackney" keeps popping up. Can I get rid of this extra entry. It's really annoying.

That's because Westland Place is in Hoxton, which is in Hackney. Other than that, no, you can't leave it out as that's how Google, who supply the locations look up, have set things up.

3. Rename the file to zip and extract the "hr.war".

Reboot the machine holding Command and r keys down, you'll boot into Lion Recovery Partition
In there will be Disk Utility, use that to select your Lion OS X Partition and Repair Permissions.
After that is done reboot the machine and see if you can log in.
If not repeat the above steps to get into Lion Recovery, get online and reinstall Lion again, it will overwrite the installed version and hopefully after that it wil work.
Reboot and try again.
If not follow my steps to create a Snow Leopard Data Recovery drive, then option boot from it and grab a copy of your files off the machine.
Then reinstall all your programs onto the external drive like setting up a new machine, then use Disk Utility to erase the entire internal boot drive (select the drive media on the far left, not the partiton slightly indented) format Option: GUID , 1 partition OS X Extended and then use Carbon Copy Cloner to clone the external to the newly formatted internal drive. Once that is finished reboot and disconnect the external drive.
Once you go that, boot into Snow Leopard and update to 10.6.8, use the AppStore and option click on Purchases and download Lion again and install.
Lots of work, but there is no Lion disks.

When adding a page a extra page appears

I have to Master Pages Portrait Master Page 1 and Landscape Master Page 2
In design view when I insert a page - set it to Page 2 in pagination (landscape page) - an extra page appears (in design view when I click on thepage the heirarchy shows the extra page as the Landscape Master Page 2.
What am I doing wrong?

Check the hight of subform in the Main page.If hight of the subform which is in the main page is more that the Master page height then you will get this issue..

Question mark appearing in place of photo. Happened after upgrading to iPhoto '11.

Question mark suggests a permissions issue. Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Include the option to check and repair Library permissions.

Comma appears in place of space

When I create a sentence, a comma appears in place of the space as I type, especially if I type quickly.
I think this also happens in other iPad apps.
Is there some settings change I can make that can solve this problem?

When importing photos from my iPhone black boxes appear in place of random photos in the iPhoto library and in Photostream. It has no apparent pattern, the photos are just blank. It's not just icons, when I go to edit the photos externally in Photoshop it opens an image filled with nothing but black.
This is more than annoying. It's effectively deleting photos I'm taking on vacation and so forth.

The ! turns up when iPhoto loses the connection between the thumbnail in the iPhoto Window and the file it represents.
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In Library Manager it's the FIle -> Rebuild command)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

Squares appear in place of some letters in Adobe professional

When I open a document in Adobe professioanl, some little squares appeared in place of some of the letters in the docuemnt. It does not replace all the letters just some of the beginning letters on sone words. Why does this happen?

Can't be more specific, different versions have tools scattered everywhere. And I keep the Preflight Icon on the toolbar, with Embed Fonts as a Favorite.

External media: It is always recommended here to open/save from/to own hard disk, and to copy from/to networks and removable media. You may be lucky (for a while), but the chances of file corruption and other unpleasantnesses are immensely greater when you use anything but the harddisk, and it is better to be safe than sorry.
In addition to the (far greater) risk of file corruption, some issues are mentioned here:

If you transfer by external means it is always safest to zip/compress the file to avoid corruption.

In ACR-9 an X appears in place of the zoomed image.

I updated PS 2014 with ACR-9 and and from time to time an X appears in place of the zoomed image. I have never had it before. How to fix it?

TS3276 Mail images disappear and Base64 code appear in-place.

After receiving and viewing a mail with inline images, I close the message and when opening it again, images disappear and Base64 code appear in-place.
How to revert that?
I don't use any plug-in, running Mail 6.6 (1510) and OSX 10.8.5

Why not set up a good system to deal with file check-outs instead? We link directly to all of the graphics across the network, but the actual InDesign files that are going to be edited and saved are all edited locally after check-out.
Just my $.02 on the matter...
EDIT: Oops, I see you tried the INX export already! Were these files perhaps pasted directly into InDesign? If so, you can copy them out and save them as graphics and relink to the graphics, but otherwise they are just a part of the file.

I can't open my computer. When I type in the password an extra arrow appears facing upwards (the other one facing to the RHS) If I press either nothing happens there is a cancel button as well (which i don't need) HELP!?

Check that your Caps lock isn't on. Maybe the light that indicates whether it is or not has stopped working. Anyway, try pressing it see if it helps.

How do I assign a Location from My Places to an Event?

iPhoto 8.1.1
I don't have any GPS data in my photos and am trying to assign it manually, with some difficulty.
I watched the tutorial on the iLife > iPhoto webpage and it appears that when you click on an Event's "i" icon there are supposed to be two tabs in the "Edit My Places" window that results, called "My Places" and "Google Search", respectively. Presumably, one could then click on the "My Places" tab and get your list of places to more rapidly assign known, frequent locations, such as my home, to a given event.
I don't have that. My window, when I click on an Event's "i" and start typing or click in the Places field is called "Add New Place" and there are no tabs so I can scroll through my pre-assigned locations. Additionally, in that field, in the tutorial the popup is called "new place...". In mine it says, "Find on Map". A subtlety, to be sure, but perhaps indicative of the issue? I don't know...
What am I missing? Why don't I have those tabs, and how can I get them? I would really like to expedite the location tagging for my photos and this is really painful at the moment.

Well...okay then!
Next fix...Has you camera had its GPS info turned on? From the video I saw, it takes the GPS info from the camera when/where you took the pic. So my question is, are your pictures showing with a "i" button in the corner? It looks like a picture and event thing.
Next question...since you are adding by hand, and based on no GPS from camera, it would seem that until you have a fair number of places to choose from, you might not have a list to populate with.
