Extra notes folder size limit?

i tried to put some notes on the notes folder, no problems with the transfer, but not all my notes were there...actually it doesn't look like a note, it look more like a book, although it's a note, but i think the size overcame the specified limit which by the way i dunno what that is...any suggestions? can i increaze the size of notes folder?

Notes can be 4kB max, plain text, 1000 notes max.
(Actually, the notes can be larger but only the 1st 4kB will be displayed).

  • Is there a way to put more apps (increase the folder size limit) in iOS 5.0.1 on iPad2

    I read on some site that there is an app that allows one to increase the desktop folder size limit in iOS 5.0.1 on an iPad2 does anyone have any info please?
    Thanks for any thoughts in advance.....
    Dave

    Firstly, Thanks for taking the time to reply :-)
    It's not that I want gazillions of apps, I just wanted to put more in each folder so I don't have to have multiple folders with similar names....Weather1, 2, 3,etc.... but I see your point and appreciate the thoughts.

  • Share Point folder size limit - File Services

    I created a new folder inside a share point using Server Admin. Is there a way to set a folder size limit (quota) for that folder.
    P.S. I am NOT talking about user accounts quotas for home folders created using Workgroup Manager! ...Just any new folder created, to be used on any volume, is there a way to set a mamimum size?
    For example I have a 1TB volume on my Xserve RAID. I create a new folder but want to set its maximum capacity to 200GB. Is that possible?
    Thank you very much in advance for any feedback.

    There's no direct way to set a limit on a folder size.
    The 'simplest' method I can think of is to create partitions on your disk of the appropriate sizes and share these - they will have inherent size limits based on the size of the partition. It's a little messier but should solve your issue.
    :: thinking :: you might be able to use disk images rather than partitions, although I've never tried sharing a mounted disk image, and you'd need to address automounting the disk images when the server starts, so it might not be viable.

  • Folder size limit

    Hi;
    How can i limit size of the folder.
    Thanks in advance;
    Bojan

    Most solaris discussions will use the term "directory", not folder.
    You can't easily limit at the directory level. If you use ZFS, you can create a filesystem instead of a directory, and then you can assign a quota to that filesystem.
    (you can do similar things without ZFS, but it's a much more heavyweight process to do so).

  • Notes' file size limit

    I'm use Project 2010 , and i have a question
    I can insert my file when size  less than 12mb,but i can't insert my file when file is over 20mb,
    Is there a limit when insert a file to a note?

    TecLoder --
    I looked at the Help article on the limits for Microsoft Project 2010, but the Help article did not list any limits on the size of a file that you can insert in the Notes field.  My guess is that there is some kind of internal file size limit that Microsoft
    has not documented, and I would suspect you have hit that file size limit.  Instead of inserting documents in your project, why don't you use the Hyperlink table instead and insert hyperlinks to the files for tasks that need the files?  That would
    be an alternate approach, but the limit would be one hyperlink per task, unless of course, you would to simply list the hyperlinks in the Notes field instead.  Hope this helps.

  • Is there a size limit to Notes on iPhone 5?

    Hi,
    My wife makes long notes on her iPhone 5, but some of her notes just disappear. Is there a size limit on Notes on iPhone 5?
    I cannot see any other reason for them disappearing.
    cheers Parisferra

    Hi,
    We don't get any error messages - basically we have converted an XML structure to a std::wstring which we then convert to PMString and store as persistent data on the document.  Somewhere along the way the string has been truncated which means that when we try to read it back into an XML structure it fails.  It sounds like this isn't an issue with storage in the document, it must be being truncated before it gets into the document.
    I just wanted to check what the limit was in the document (I haven't been able to find that in any documentation) so that I could trap any strings that were too big before they were written into it.
    Thanks,

  • Note size limit and slight work-around in Lyrics

    I tried to reply to a older post, but since it's archived I wasn't able to so I'll simply reference it.
    I followed the suggestions from the following post in order to fit more continuous viewable text on my iPod:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=3412651#3412651
    According to the post, since you can fit appx. 256 MB into ID3 tags (and only 4K in Notes), that you could create a short song only for the purpose of storing text in the Lyrics tab. I followed the suggestions and while I was able to fit a little more than twice as much text in the Lyric as I could the note, only a portion of the lyrics was actually viewable on the iPod.
    Let me clarify. I could fit the ENTIRE text that I wanted (a text file 200K) into the Lyrics tab and could view all of it in iTunes, only a small portion was viewable on the iPod itself.
    So, I was able to slightly work-around the note size limit, I wasn't able to expand it by as much as was suggested in the original post/thread.
    Does anyone have any ideas? Obviously, I can't get back to the original posters personally (Chris CA, b noir, and chanyiwai), so hopefully some of them will see this thread.
    Has anyone else found a better work-around?

    The ID3 tag can be 256MB but how that tag is implemented by Apple in iTunes, I don't know.
    Haven't heard of any other workarounds for more text.
    Really though, the iPod is not designed for documents/texts.

  • Sccm Client Cache folder size growing instead of limit set

    Hi Everyone.
    Greetings.
    We have noticed that in our sccm environment, the cache folder size (under CCM path) in clients keeps increasing but however it should not as i believe the older contents automatically to be removed while downloading new contents.
    The cache folder to download the contents as by default set to 5GB and we haven't modified anything on that.
    Please suggest us on this as it would be much appreciated.
    Thanks in advance
    Regards,
    Thangaraj

    Hi Jason,
    Yes. However we are using software distribution as well.
    We noticed recently this large size CCM folder (19GB) in one of our server as C drive is running out of space.
    But when i looked at the contents inside that CCMCache folder, below are the findings.
    The content size of all the advertisements are around 18GB.
    The content size of software updates are around 1GB.
    MS KB patches, Service packs are pushed through software advertisement(present inside folder named as package ID. So it cannot be considered as software updates deployment right?
    Please suggest. Thanks.

  • Folder size showing for some, not all folders

    I am Mountain Lion 10.8.5.
    This is a common problem, but couldn't find any answers specific to Mountain Lion or my exact problem.
    I wanted to see folder sizes in Finder, which is turned off by default. I went into "Show View Options" and then checked "Calculate All Sizes". I then click on "Use as Defaults" button, which goes from black to gray when I click it.
    I would assume "Use As Defaults" would apply for the entire hard drive. But it seems to be applied randomly. Some folders have sizes, some don't. Sometimes folders will not have the size shown but subfolders will.
    Any ideas?

    Thanks to everyone for their replies - I thought that it was just me with this issue but clearly not. Also thank you to Mil_Prep and S2Linda's suggestions, unfortunately all three of my email accounts do not have a "Mail Days To Sync" option - I believe that this option only appears in Mail settings if the account is an exchange email account. Even if I was able to adjust the time period of emails to sync, I don't think that it would help because the email(s) that are going missing can be as recent as one day old, leaving all my earlier emails in the same folder intact - some of which can go back to the year 2002 for instance. I am still convinced that it is a bug with headers in iOS5. Last week I even had a related problem where I had a new email merge with an old email. The senders email address, subject title and date remained the same but the body of the text was replaced with an old email from 2006! Very odd....

  • Received error message that message could not be sent due to domain's size limit

    Sent messages come back saying the domain's size limit causes messages to be undeliverable. How can I fix this?

    Folling your instructions, settings same as ISP's, I did manage to send and receive One test message yesterday.
    Trying this morning all attempts are complete failures; with requests to "enter new password". A password which has not been changed.
    Just now attempted to send a test message three times; receiving the same request for a new password then some how forcing the issue I received the following:
    "An error occurred sending mail: The mail server sent an incorrect greeting: pacmmta54.windstream.net pacmmta54 4.7.1 - Connection Refused - 72.168.134.151 - Too many connections."
    By the way, I've (using the package manager) have completely un-installed and then then reinstall "Thunderbird".
    An interesting note; I should have had NO orginal settings or have retained any incoming email messages, correct?, but I did and infact click on the link of your original reply. This message is not being sent from in side Thunderbird, but from Mozilla support web page. Thank you for your assistance.

  • Another Question about the "Notes" Folder from Kevin_Ahab

    Okay, thanks to [I forget my helper last time], for his help getting my TEXT (you can not use non-Microsoft Word Documents) Documents to the "Notes" Folder in the Extras Menu of my iPod Nano White 4GB English.
    Is there a limit to the size of the notes? My documents were ~8 KILObytes each, and the whole did not show up. If there is some sort of limit, tell me, or maybe I just screwed something up. Because some people have text documents over the 1 megabyte mark (I believe I have some), and if that can not be stored by iPod Nano, that is un-good.
    Unless, and tell me if this hunch is correct, it is only for a "to-do" list, not for long, drawn-out documents.
    Anyways, any help is GREATLY appreciated, thank-you in advanced.
    ~Kevin_Ahab

    you can not use non-Microsoft Word Documents
    You HAVE to use non-Microsoft Word documents.
    They cannot be a .DOC file. They must be plain text.
    Is there a limit to the size of the notes?
    Yes. 4K file size. Anything over will not be displayed.
    if that can not be stored by iPod Nano, that is un-good.
    It can be stored on the Nano but it cannot be displayed on the Nano.

  • S1000 Data file size limit is reached in statement

    I am new to Java and was given the task to trouble shoot a java application that was written a few years ago and no longer supported. The java application creates database files the user's directory: diwdb.properties, diwdb.data, diwdb.lproperties, diwdb.script. The purpose of the application is to open a zip file and insert the files into a table in the database.
    The values that are populated in the diwdb.properties file are as follows:
    #HSQL Database Engine
    #Wed Jan 30 08:55:05 GMT 2013
    hsqldb.script_format=0
    runtime.gc_interval=0
    sql.enforce_strict_size=false
    hsqldb.cache_size_scale=8
    readonly=false
    hsqldb.nio_data_file=true
    hsqldb.cache_scale=14
    version=1.8.0
    hsqldb.default_table_type=memory
    hsqldb.cache_file_scale=1
    hsqldb.log_size=200
    modified=yes
    hsqldb.cache_version=1.7.0
    hsqldb.original_version=1.8.0
    hsqldb.compatible_version=1.8.0
    Once the databsae file gets to 2GB it brings up the error meessage 'S1000 Data file size limit is reached in statement (Insert into <tablename>......
    From searching on the itnernet it appeared that the parameter hsqldb.cache_file_scale needed to be increased & 8 was a suggested value.
    I have the distribution files (.jar & .jnlp) that are used to run the application. And I have a source directory that was found that contains java files. But I do not see any properties files to set any parameters. I was able to load both directories into NetBeans but really don't know if the files can be rebuilt for distribution as I'm not clear on what I'm doing and NetBeans shows errors in some of the directories.
    I have also tried to add parameters to the startup url: http://uknt117.uk.infores.com/DIW/DIW.jnlp?hsqldb.large_data=true?hsqldb.cache_file_scale=8 but that does not affect the application.
    I have been struggling with this for quite some time. Would greatly appreciate any assistance to help resolve this.
    Thanks!

    Thanks! But where would I run the sql statement. When anyone launches the application it creates the database files in their user directory. How would I connect to the database after that to execute the statement?
    I see the create table statements in the files I have pulled into NetBeans in both the source folder and the distribution folder. Could I add the statement there before the table is created in the jar file in the distribution folder and then re-compile it for distribution? OR would I need to add it to the file in source directory and recompile those to create a new distribution?
    Thanks!

  • Size limit of access database with image files stored outside database

    I have read 2GB limit on size of Access database.  We are using Access 2013 database with fields that are data type attachment and storing attached images outside the database.  Does the size of the folder that is holding these images count
    in any way toward 2GB size limit?

    Hi,
    As far as I know, Access database limit size 2GB based on itself, not related to the folder size.  Attachment data
    type is similar to attaching files to e-mail messages. We need to control the Access database size is smaller then 2GB.
    When a field is defined with the attachment data type, you can store one or more files for each record in it.
    Attachments can dramatically increase the size of the database, but since the attached file is stored as a part of the dabatbase, you are not dependent on network drives being available as you would be if you inculded a hyperlink to the file. As a matter of
    fact, feel free to backup the origainal file to other disk after you attach it to the database.

  • Is there a size limit on internal HD? iBook G4 1Ghz

    Recently bought a used 12" iBook G4. Of course no installation discs came with it.
    When received it had a 30 Gb hard drive, 528 mb RAM, and 10.3.9.
    I wanted to max out RAM, increase HD size, and move to 10.4.x.
    (Additional background - I have various other Macs and can use Fire Wire Target Mode from any of them to the "new" iBook.)
    RAM upgrade successful. I borrowed install discs from a friend with a similar though not identical machine; his is a 1.33 Ghz. When I removed the old HD and replaced with a new 160 Gb drive, the Install discs did not see the HD. So I took the iBook apart again, put the new drive in an OWC external enclosure connected to my Powerbook G4. Saw that the drive needed formatting, duh, I did so. Put it back in the iBook. Started up from the install disc, it still did not see the HD. Started the iBook in Fire Wire Target mode; could not see the newly installed HD from the other machine either; all I could see on the iBook end of the Firewire was the CD/DVD. I have looked through various threads here related both to iBook HD replacement and to system upgrade concerns - nothing I find matches my issue.
    I have since reinstalled the original 30 Gb HD, have used the borrowed installation discs to do a clean install of 10.3.x (so the similar but not identical was close enough) and a retail 10.4 Install to upgrade the system. So, 2 out of 3; I have my expanded memory, a clean upgraded system. But I hate to give up on a bigger internal HD!!!
    1. Is there a size limit on the internal HD on the iBook? Is 160 Gb too large, and should I try again with a less aggressive increase? I do have a 60 Gb I could pull out of a PB G4 I will probably sell...
    2. If size is not the problem, it seems that maybe it would help if I somehow pre-install the system onto the 160Gb before I physically put it into the iBook. But I do not understand the whole process of making bootable backups etc. Is there a way I can copy my current installation, or do a reinstallation of 10.3.x or 10.4.x on the 160 Gb while is is external, connected via Firewire, and then swap the 160 Gb into the iBook and have it just boot up? I see hard drives for sale in eBay "with OS X 10.x.x already installed..."? I tried, both from my Powerbook and from the iBook to do an Install onto the 160 Gb while it was attached via Firewire. The PB didn't want to have anything to do with those iBook Install discs. The iBook wouldn't allow me the option of doing an Installation onto the External drive. And I assume that a simple Select-All-and-Copy isn't going to do it for me. So how do I install onto the drive while it is external, and will it work once I move it into the iBook?
    3. Probably not important, but out of curiosity... if I could use my Powerbook G4 Installation discs to burn a new system onto my 160 Gb drive (when it was connected as an external to the PB), and then put that drive into the iBook, would that work? Or would iBook vs. Powerbook differences throw off the installation?
    Thanks!
    Stan

    Shiftless:
    Is there a size limit on the internal HD on the iBook?
    The only limitation of HDD size is due to availability. The largest capacity ATA/IDE HDD available is 250 GB. Theoretically there is no limit to the capacity your computer will support, if larger capacity HDDs were available.
    If size is not the problem, it seems that maybe it would help if I somehow pre-install the system onto the 160Gb before I physically put it into the iBook.
    This is not necessary, although you could do it this way. I note in your later responses that you have already attempted this process and have some difficulties. Here is the procedure I would recommend, after the HDD is installed.
    • Clone the old internal HDD to an external firewire HDD. I gather you have done this.
    • Format and erase the newly installed HDD (directions follow).
    • Install new OS from disk or clone back from external HDD. (Post back for directions if you choose to install from this and then restore from backup).
    Formatting, Partitioning Erasing a Hard Disk Drive
    Warning! This procedure will destroy all data on your Hard Disk Drive. Be sure you have an up-to-date, tested backup of at least your Users folder and any third party applications you do not want to re-install before attempting this procedure.
    • With computer shut down insert install disk in optical drive.
    • Hit Power button and immediately after chime hold down the "C" key.
    • Select language
    • Go to the Utilities menu (Tiger) Installer menu (Panther & earlier) and launch Disk Utility.
    • Select your HDD (manufacturer ID) in left side bar.
    • Select Partition tab in main panel. (You are about to create a single partition volume.)
    • Click on Options button
    • Select Apple Partition Map (PPC Macs) or GUID Partition Table (Intel Macs)
    • Click OK
    • Select number of partition in pull-down menu above Volume diagram.
    (Note 1: One partition is normally preferable for an internal HDD.)
    • Type in name in Name field (usually Macintosh HD)
    • Select Volume Format as Mac OS Extended (Journaled)
    • Click Partition button at bottom of panel.
    • Select Erase tab
    • Select the sub-volume (indented) under Manufacturer ID (usually Macintosh HD).
    • Check to be sure your Volume Name and Volume Format are correct.
    • Click Erase button
    • Quit Disk Utility.

  • Folio file size limit

    In the past their were file size limits for folios and folio resources. I believe folios and their resources could not go over 100MB.
    Is their a file size limit to a folio and its resources? What is the limit?
    What happens if the limit is exceeded?

    Article size is currently capped at 2GB. We've seen individual articles of up to 750MB in size but as mentioned previously you do start bumping into timeout issues uploading content of that size. We're currently looking at implementing a maximum article size based on the practical limitations of upload and download times and timeout values being hit.
    This check will be applied at article creation time and you will not be allowed to create articles larger than our maximum size. Please note that we are working on architecture changes that will allow the creation of larger content but that will take some time to implement.
    Currently to get the best performance you should have all your content on your local machine (Not on a network drive), shut down any extra applications, get the fastest machine you can, with the most memory. The size of article is direclty proportional to the speed at which you can bundle an article and get it uploaded to the server.
