Extra playlists show up after sync

I have only 4 playlists in itunes. When I sync any songs at all with my iphone, about 20 playlists show up only on my iphone; all old playlists I had deleted long ago. This problem didn't show up until I updated to itunes 11, anyone know how to fix this?
i delete them on my phone but they show up again after i sync, even though they're not on my itunes.

You may want to try recreating your iTunes Library and playlists, as there may be some data in the iTunes database that is displaying correctly in iTunes, but causing problems through the sync process.

I have my ipod classic for many years, but recently encountered problems after sync. Itunes changes the order of tracks in my playlists. I want them be ordered by album, but itunes ordered it by "ticked". I tried to change it before sync. First this seem to be work, but now the order is again wrong. I find this really annoying, because "ticked" seemed to mean to be similar to "by name" of tracks. This does not make any sense for my music.
Any ideas, what I can do?

I have synced my Ipod with my itunes account and it shows that is syncing and also uses up the space in the Nano however the music does not show up on the ipod. I have gone back to the apple store and gotten a new ipod and the same thing is happening.

Check out the troubleshooting assistant in the first article below. It will walk you through a few simple steps like restarting your iPod nano and changing ports on your Mac. Another troubleshooting option is to put your iPod nano into disk mode and then plug it in and see if iTunes recognizes it to be restored.

Voice memos not showing up in voice memos playlist on itunes after sync

I have synced my iPod Touch many times to iTunes, and usually find the Voice Memos right in the Voice Memos playlist where they should be. I have recently had to replace my hard drive on my MacBook Pro, and reinstall using Time Machine, which means many apps have to be re-introduced to the system. But I don't see how this could affect a sync between Touch and itunes. I still have many many voice memos to upload, but do not see evidence of them anywhere. Any ideas?

I have tried every solution listed in this topic - unfortunately none of them worked I have a 46 minute voice memo of an interview which I needed to transfer to my computer. In the end, I found this software, PhoneView, which offers a free 7-day trial (no credit card needed or anything) and lets you transfer up to 10 voice memos. Not really a long term solution, but if, like me, you are desperate to get one big file to your Mac quickly, then this is perfect.

ITunes renaming 'Favourites' playlist to 'Favourites1' after sync? + 2 iPhone's on 1 iTunes?

2 questions here ...
1) I created a Playlist on my iPhone called 'Favourites' comprising of, wait for it ... my favourites! But yet when I then sync to iTunes it splits the Playlist into two on my iPhone - ones is titled as I made it 'Favourites' and then there is another one called 'Favouries 1'.
All of the tunes I originally selected on the device are now split between the two playlists so what I have been doing is deleting both after the sync and then having to manually re-add the Playlist on the device but I'm getting a little bored of this - any advice?!?
2) My GF is expecting her 4S today - we have one laptop, and of course 1 iTunes. I dont want to set two different user areas on it really, and am hoping we can share the 1 iTunes just with two difefrent Apple ID's.
What are peoples thoughts on this?
We will have different contacts/music etc so I'm hoping that the two ID's will be enough.

The backup for each iPhone should be different, but having a different name for each iPhone ensures this. Go to iTunes > Preferences. Under the Devices tab you can view the backup for each device. You can delete the backup for each device from there also.
The backup for an iPhone stores data such as most iPhone settings, email account settings, contact info, SMS messages, notes, recent calls, call favorites, photos in the camera roll, and 3rd party app settings and data created and stored by a 3rd party app.
The operating system is included with the firmware update that is downloaded when you choose to download a firmware update when notified a firmware update is available for your iPhone. When restoring an iPhone with iTunes, the iPhone is completely erased followed by re-installing the current firmware version from the firmware download that remains on your computer.

Odd pics of a game showing up after sync

Has anybody else had 4 or 5 pics of what looks to be pics of a hangman, tic tac toe game in sketch form show up in pictures after a sync? Wierd. Twice now.

Ipad3 with new iMail does not show mailboxes. Have tried swithcing SSL on and making port same number 993 as imac; then telling imail in imac to synchronise but to no avail still no mailboxes appearing on ipad mail. My husbands new ipad air worked straight away same OS?

I'm sorry. I probably wasn't clear enough in my response. What I am saying is that one can create mailboxes in the Mac mail app and those mailboxes can be for local storage only - the "on my Mac" mailboxes. Those do sync to any other device. The ability to creat those mailboxes is a feature of the Mac mail app.
You cannot create additional mailboxes on the iPad unless your email account is an IMAP account. I am not familiar with BT internet at all so I don't know if you have IMAP or not. I assume that your husband has the same email provider and if his mailboxes did sync to the iPad, then yours should as well.
You can check to be sure if you don't know if your email account is an IMAP account. If you go to your email account in the iPad Mail app and look at the window where your inbox, trash folder and sent folder are - if there is an Edit button at the top of the window - tap that and then tap Add Mailbox at the bottom. If an new mailbox appears, you have IMAP.
If the Edit button is not there - you cannot create folders on the iPad. Your email account is not IMAP. Only IMAP email accounts can create folders on the iPad. Any folders that you would already have in an IMAP account would sync to the device as well.

LR 5 Raw images and some jpegs not showing even after Sync.

I have LR 5 (latest update). When I was trying to edit a photo from 12/2013 I noticed that only the jpeg images were previewing. I ran a sync of the folder which showed no files to import. The files are there; I've used them, I can see them. Looks like it's all the files in folder 2013 pics, but not 2014 pics. Any ideas on how to fix? Thanks!

Videos don't show up after syncing

When syncing videos to my iPad and iPhone, occasionally one or more videos will not sync properly. They're all in the same file format, and will play just fine in iTunes. When I look at the files on my iPhone or iPad (from the settings view for the device, under the "Movies" tab) the videos show up as having synced properly, but they do not show up when I look at the videos available for watching on my device (either on the device itself, or under the menu for the device in iTunes).
In iTunes, when I'm looking at the settings for my device, under "sync movies," all my movies are there.
When I look for some of these movies either on my device or on the menu in iTunes, the videos are not all there.
Any help is much appreciated.

I have the same problem. Great update. Apple *****. They screwed everything up. My iPod and iPhone are all screwed up. Support did not have a solution to this problem. They're excuse was, engineers didn't think of this, or there's a glitch. She will submit the problem to the proper department. Who knows how long that will take to fix. I told her I could be dead by then.

TS4062 iPod Touch not showing content after sync

iTunes says it is transferring over podcasts, but the latest podcasts don't show up on my iTouch. This just started this past week, and my iTouch is not full. I saw there was an operating system update yesterday (7.1.1), so I did that, hoping that would help, but no such luck. iTunes told me it was transferring another podcast over this morning, but still nothing new is showing up in my podcast area on my iTouch.

I am having a similar issue. I have a 1st-generation iPod touch, and a MacBook running Snow Leopard (OS 10.6.3) and iTunes 9.1.1. It's a bit old now and the WiFi isn't very good, but my iPod touch still works perfectly, except that it doesn't show up in iTunes, which I discovered yesterday when I tried to sync some new music. I got my iTouch G1 the first week they came out and it worked perfectly with my iBook G4 running Tiger, and also worked perfectly with my new MacBook running Leopard which replaced the iBook when its logic board bit the dust. I recently updated to Snow Leopard (about a month ago now), and now my iTouch doesn't show up in my iTunes sidebar, but a volume shows up in Disk Utility that could only be this iPod and things do happen when I plug in the iPod (the first time I connected it since I added some Snow to my Leopard, iPhoto opened and prompted a download of a screenshot I'd taken with the iPod). I'm mostly writing this right now because the support page pertinent to this issue is down due to some sort of Apple web maintenance and I'm tired of getting the same error message. I actually have everything on my Mac backed up, and when I installed Snow Leopard I just did a basic installation but have been thinking of going back and doing a clean wipe and install and then getting the iTunes and iPhoto libraries et cetera off of my external HD. Would this fix my problem? I figure that since my iPod touch's files and system have been constant throughout this, it must be some issue with Snow Leopard, however before I wipe everything and have to set my system up again from scratch, I would like to know if this problem would be fixed by doing that or if there is some problem inherent in Snow Leopard that needs to be manually fixed.

Having the same problem. I have an 8gig Nano touch my wife just bought. When I add a playlist it doesn't show up after sync. I have it set up to manual sync, so I should be able to drag & drop like all my other devices.
It shows that it is on there when connected to the MacBook Pro, but does not show up on the iPod after eject.

Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing with syncing music to your iPod. For issues like this, I recommend resyncing the music to your iPod.
If you are syncing automatically, resync content to the iPod by unchecking "Sync Music" and clicking "Apply," then checking "Sync Music" and clicking "Apply" again.

Yes, you can sync podcasts. Except in this case it's KEXP.org's song-a-day podcast that are just songs. I want them to work the same way as any song in my library from any other source. I do not want to manage them as podcasts. And for whatever reason it won't send them to my iphone as songs unless I right click and convert to mp3. And yes, they already are mp3s. Before I convert them, they don't ever show up in iTunes DJ or in Music either. I don't know... ask Apple.

So, your iPhone (and new shuffle) still work properly with iTunes, correct?
Your 1st gen shuffle... It's the white one with USB plug, that looks like a USB flash drive...?
Are you able to see it in Windows, and maybe change the drive letter back to E:?
