Extra songs on my ITouch from ICloud

Hello All-
When I recently synced my ITouch with ITunes, I noticed a difference between the number of songs.   My OCD kicked in and I began to investigate.   I noticed there were around 30 extra songs on my ITouch, all with the little ICloud icon next to them.  The songs consisted of the following - a few were doubles of songs I had recently purchased, a few were songs that I had purchased but then deleted from my ITunes and the rest were from a U2 album that I never would have downloaded and scarily feel that it was forced upon me by Apple.
My question - what is the easy way to get rid of this stuff and make it so my ITouch has the same songs that are in my ITunes?
Thanks in advance!

To only show songs downloaded tot he iPod (no cloud icon), go to Settings.iTunes and App Store and turn off Show All.
If yo want to permently remove the U2 songs see:

  • I cannot load more photos onto my iPad as I'm being told there is not enough storage. I have bought an extra 20 GB storage plan from iCloud so how can I now load more photos onto my iPad. Surely there is enough space!  Do I need to delete previous photos?

I cannot load more photos onto my iPad even though I have bought an extra 20 GB storage plan from iCloud. As I am on holidays and taking loads of photos I thought  a good plan was to load them onto my iPad and then regularly back them up to iCloud. If I do this, do I then delete those photos from the iPad that I have backed up to iCloud and if I delete them from the iPad are they gone forever or can I somehow get them back from iCloud? I'm only new at all of this so I hope someone can assist me. I'd hate to lose all of my photos(I know they are still on my memory stick) but I would like to have them safe and secure and able to retrieved whenever I wish.

You cannot backup photos to iCloud.
You can enable Photo Stream (in Settings > iCloud) but only for 30 days and only a max of 1000 photos.
Then what does this mean? It was copied from the kb article that I posted above.
Reducing the size of your Camera Roll backup
If you take lots of photos and videos with your iOS device, you may notice your Camera Roll takes up most of your iCloud Storage backup. To check the size of the Camera Roll backup on your device:
On your Home Screen, tap Settings.
    Tap iCloud.
    Tap Storage & Backup.
    Tap Manage Storage.
In the Backups section, tap your device.
In the Backup Options section, the backup size is displayed under Camera Roll.
To reduce the size of your Camera Roll backup, save your photos and videos locally to your computer with iTunes, and then manually back up your iOS device. If you want to keep your photos and videos on your iOS device, you can turn off Camera Roll in Backup (see the "Deleting backups and turning off Backup for your Device" section above) orpurchase additional storage.

  • HT204406 some of the songs i have downloaded from iclouds cut out after about 50 seconds? Has anyone else had this problem?

Some of the songs I have downloaded from iclouds cut out after about 50 seconds when i play them? Has anyone else had this problem and if so did you manage to fix it.
    Thanks

I've had this happen several times... I suspect the download was interrupted for some unreported reason so it only has a partial file or has a corrupt byte in the file it failed to catch.
Just delete the local copy and re-download from the cloud and they play fine.

  • I cant bring my songs through my Itouch from my other computer

I have songs on my itouch from my orignal computer downstairs. I have recently gotten a laptop with itunes and have put songs onto that. But when i want to bring those old songs onto my laptop im not allowed or it wont let me. When i say transfer purcheses it doesnt have the songs i want. And for some od reason i got a song i have never purchased.

    The transfer purchases:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to a computer
only transfer iTunes purchases to the computer.
To transfer music not purchased from iTunes to the coomputer you need a third-party program like one of those discussed here:
Copy music from Ipod to new computer...: Apple Support Communities
Note that you can only sync with one iTunes library.  To manage music among different computers see:

  • Songs skip when streaming from iCloud

This problem occurs consistently. The track will skip as soon as it is fully loaded.
    To explain clearly:
When you start a track which is not stored locally it "streams" from iCloud. (More like it is downloaded and stored temporarily than actual streaming.) As it starts it plays and downloads simultaneously. The progress bar fills light grey as the track downloads. It also fills dark grey as the track plays (also marked by a small diamond). As soon as the progress bar fills light grey indicating it is fully downloaded it skips to the next track where the process repeats.
This not happen with all tracks but it occurs with the majority of tracks.

    Hello, Calandria
Is error correction enabled? (iTunes Preferences/Importing/Use Error Correction ... on my machine)
Another possibility, of course, would be that the CD was produced with a Windows-capable scheme to prevent copying the songs. Can't really help you if that's the case, though.
    Good luck

  • My ipod touch is unable to download songs off itunes or from icloud ...what do I do?

ever since I got the new update (which actually restored my Ipod losing all my pictures)  I have not been able to sync my songs from itunes or even purchased songs from icloud. If I cannot fix my Ipod  I dont know what I'm going to do with all the songs I have purchased from itunes.

A restore has nothing to do with pressing or holding any buttons on the device.
A reset is holding the home and power buttons for 15-20 seconds until the white Apple logo appears.
If the backup completed successfully, a restore will put it back exactly as it was.
Although, any semi-intelligent person would be regularly importing the pictures from their device to their computer.  Relying on a single device like a phone that can easily be lost, stolen, or damaged beyond repair is extremely unintelligent.

  • How do I return to iCLoud a playlist of 80 songs that I downloaded from iCloud to my MacBook? I only need the songs downloaded temporarily due to no WiFi. I want to keep the playlist in iCloud; just don't want them downloaded

How do I return (to iCloud from MacBook Pro) a playlist of 80 songs that I downloaded? I only needed the songs downloaded temporarily due to no WiFi. I want to keep the playlist in iCloud; just don't want them downloaded. I know how to delete songs, but is there  a way to just "undo" and return songs to iCloud and maintain existing playlist on MacBook?

Use Flash Media Server to stream the files.......set up a timer and have all three of them play at once....and have a button switch the streams depending upon which stream you want to play.....and wallah......
you can also capture the stream.time from the video playing and resume from that point on the other videos as well....havent done this theoretically so I dont know how smooth the transistion between streams will be....but it can be done....
plus u may have to use double buffering techniques to make sure it starts up right away......

  • Why can't I buy songs off my Itouch from itunes?

when i log into itunes from my itouch i can't but any songs. it works and i can view songs, but the button with the price where you click to but doesn't show up. I even have part of a gift card left on my itunes. This started when i recently downloaded a bunch of cds to my itouch.

If you haven't already tried, you have to plug your iPod into the computer and open iTunes. Then it can get confusing, but when you're in iTunes you have click on your device and then sync your music. This will take all the music already in your iTunes library and put it on your iPod. It will also take all the purchased music on your iPod and move it to iTunes.
However, if you have downloaded songs from cds or anyother program, they will not sync into iTunes and will be deleted from your iPod. But this will only happen if they are not already in iTunes. You also need to be careful of one other thing when you are syncing your iPod. The iTunes library already comes with a default of songs that apple provides you with, and these may also sync onto your iPod if you're not careful. I know because I had to do the same thing with my iPod and all this happened to me.

  • Duplicate songs in iTunes (not from iCloud!!!)

    Hello!
Just I have solved one problem (some songs from iTunes won't sync with my iPhone)
Sudenly have appeared another one: hundreds of my songs are duplicated.
I was surfing in internet with an idea to find a solution, one solution that I found it was to "Show iTunes in the iCloud  purcheses" it ok, theres was not any tick. But songs are always duplicated.
Could anyone help me to decide this problem, please.

You can't read one part and ignore what followed.  "went back into the purchased tab in itunes and the songs are still there."
He was only seeing the songs he had purchased on his account, which could be redownloaded.
If that's what you're talking about, you're just as foolish.

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.

  • Playing a song through Music Match from iCloud on my iPhone does not update number of times played

I noticed that when I play a song on my iPhone using Music Match / iCloud, the number of times played counter on in iTunes my Mac is not increased, nor is date last played etc. As this is still one user, using one music collection I had expected this to happen.
Now my "good but forgotten" clever playlist (>=4 stars, date last played over a year ago) is not kept current anymore.
Is this a bug or a "feature". Like most things iCloud it seems to work "sort of, but not quite there yet..."

I am experiencing the same problem. I have uninstalled and re-installed ALL Apple software. Restored phone. Didn't work. Got a new phone and set up as a new phone. Same problem. Cannot play music. I select the song and the screen switches back to the previous screen and never plays. Artwork is all jacked up. Please help.

  • I want a SmartPlaylist that shows only songs I have downloaded from iCloud Match

is there a way to create a playlist on iTunes(desktop) that will show all the tracks that are locally stored on my computer??

All my music is in the cloud, i dont want the majority of it stored locally, so at the moment when i put my music on shuffle iTunes (desktop and even more of a problem on iPhone) will on occasion pick a cloud track and begin to download it (slowly on my connection) - I want it to only pick local tracks to avoid this problem. Also the tracks I have downloaded from my cloud are obviously my favourite ones and therefore the ones I want to play most often - i realise i could create other playlists for this but the simplest way to do it would be to have a smart list of my local tracks.
I'll try not to be judgemental about your musical choices.
Seriously, though, your extra information is very helpful. I didn't completely understand what to do previously. So try this Smart Playlist:
All my music is "on my computer" so this, of course, doesn't exclude anything for me. But let us know if it works for you.

  • HT204406 How to download songs to my ipad from icloud after I signed up for itunes match???

I signed up for itunes match on the promise that I would have access to all my music and could download to my devices.  But now that they've hooked me for the $24.99, there doesn't seem to be a way to download the music to my ipad (IOS 6).  What am I missing?
