Extra Space After Size Change, Help!

I am trying to create a document in Flash, and I had to resize the dimensions of my document from 1920x1280 to 1920x1080. I have reworked all of my elements to fit into this new document size. However, when I preview and export the video, I have extra white space on the top and bottom of the video that I can't seem to get rid of. I have checked all the ratios in the Publish screen, and they are set up to "match movie". Has anyone gotten this problem before? Help!

Did you check the Flash Forum for info? I don't use Flash so I am not familiar with that program. Here is a link to a thread about "published settings". Don't know if it is relevant or not. http://forums.adobe.com/thread/702931?tstart=60

  • Embedded font has extra space after special characters

I've built a web-based Flash movie for a major client. The SWF uses an embedded font and loads text from an XML document. The client is localizing it for several languages, which of course include special characters. In this case, the å character is giving us problems -- it always renders with an extra space after it. For example, the Danish word spørgsmål is rendered as spørgsmå l.
I might be inclined to think something's wrong with the font, because it doesn't happen with other fonts. However, some Googling turned up several other cases of people with similar problems using different fonts.
When I remove the font embedding, the problem disappears. I can watch it do this right in the IDE. As soon as I embed characters again, the phantom space returns. And it doesn't happen in any other applications.
I've spent many hours trying all kinds workarounds, but I've come up with nothing so far. As I said, I've found several other mentions of this problem but the only solution I've seen is "use a different font." In this case I can't -- it's a corporate identity font that's required for this project!
If it makes any difference, I'm linking the font in the library, then specifying the embedded characters for the text fields. I also have text fields created entirely in Actionscript (AS3) that behave exactly the same way.
Please tell me there's a solution to this! I'm pretty positive this is a Flash bug at this point, though I'd be happy if someone proved me wrong.

    Hi,
I read the following on another discussion in this forum:
it appears that with the shortkey ctrl+shift+Y you can force the pc to work around the system fonts
    Maybe that helps.

  • How do I remove extra space after an image in an ePub created with InDesign?

I've designed more than a dozen ebooks with InDesign and have recently been having problems with the spacing after images, both images that are anchored in the text or stand-alone and exported through the Articles Panel. Following are a few details:
    • In the Object Export Settings, I have the vertical spacing set to 0 both before and after the images and no breaks added.
    • In the Export panel, I do not have any vertical spacing applied to images.
    • I do not have any Object Style settings applied.
    • It doesn't seem to matter if I anchor the image into the text or have it as a stand-alone image in the Articles Panel with the caption after it in a separate text box, also in the Articles Panel.
    • I broke down the ePub into an html file and did not see any div or span classes that were different between images that are showing correctly vs. incorrectly.
    • Extra space appears in both iBooks on my computer, as well as on my iPad.
    • I converted to a mobi file for the Kindle and the space wasn't there.
See attached screen shot. There shouldn't be that big gap between the image and the orange caption.
Any help or suggestions anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated. I feel like I've tried everything I can think of with the same results over and over!

Yes. That is the technique I traditionally use to drop an image into text. I even cut and pasted again as you suggested with the same result. Trust me, this is driving me nuts. I'm not doing anything different than before, but my results are different, even within the same document. I'll attach a few examples, all from this same document.

  • Why the extra space after an h3 title on the page?

I am somewhat a newbie and I am working on a webpage for a
lady. She wants me to remove the extra space below the title and I
have it set as an h3 tag. The title is at the top, "eMarketing -

immediately to the next row is the paragraph tag. How can I remove

  • Broken Links not fixed after being changed-HELP PLEASE!

I am trying to fix a website I created for a friend. I created it in Dreamweaver CS6 on a Mac. Everything was working on the website, the pitures were showing up and now 2 of the pages arent working. On both pages the spry bar is not working and some of the pictures will not show up. I have went to find broken links and redirected it to the correct file but it is not changing anything. I am not sure how to fix this problem, if anyone has any advice that would be great!! The website is www.serenityatthebeach.com.

That line read correctly when I looked at it on the broken page colorcutstyle. I copied the code from the page if that would help. I hope this helps.

    1) Padding is only placed on the top and/or bottom of the div. The elements within this div have padding on their sides. This saves you from any "box model math". • What do I do with all the extra space after TM reformats?

I want to use my current external HD to store files I don't need access to regularly. Without partitioning my HD, because I understand this not recommended, can I still use it as a dumping ground after formatting for TM? to clarify... I have only 100 gig's to back up but a 320 gig external can I use the remaining 220 for other folders or am I committing all that space just for TM?

Time machine could very well exceed the size of your hard drive by a fair margin. Initial backup followed by hourly, daily, weekly.
I am sure you could budget some space for other things. TM will delete files that it controls when it needs to, and will warn you that it is happening.
The more space devoted to Time Machine, the further you can go back at a very granular level.

  • Removing Extra Space after Crop?

I have tried to find a solution for this problem and haven't found an answer so maybe someone can help me.
I am editing some videos and I want to crop out a large section of them. When I use the crop tool it removes the part of the video no problem -- but then I am left with a small section of video and a huge black area (where what I removed used to be). I can resize the video but it doesn't let me actually remove the black area for some reason -- also I can't seem to move the new video at all (its in the upper left hand corner of the cross hairs and the entire rest is black). Is there any way to remove the excess or export my newly cropped video (and not the blank space)?
Thanks for all of your help

Park the playhead in the Timeline at a suitable reference point for your cropping/enlarging.
In the Canvas, select Image + Wireframe in the box at the top center of the window.
Select the clip to load it into the viewer.
Use the crop tool to adjust the image to your liking. You can also drag the copped image around the Canvas window while the cursor displays as four-direction arrows.
Now go to the Motion tab in the Viewer and scale up the image as needed, using the Scale settings in the Basic Motion section.
Be aware that the more you enlarge, the more pixelated the image will become.

  • Footage takes up more space after clipwrap changes the codec

I have mts files that need to be changed to .mov files so that they can be imported into fcp. I put a 32gb sdhc card into my mbp and convert the clips in clipward with a prores422 lt setting and save it to my lacie 1tb external hd and the files take up much more space than 32gb. I done about 4 1/2 cards worth that are all 32gb cards, so about 150 gb of footage and my 1tb lacie hd is full? Anybody have any ideas on this. When I select the clips using clipwrap I select the sd card then the private folder, then the avchd folder, then bdmv folder, then select the stream folder and it brings up all the clips in the stream folder and I convert them. The clips work fine but there taking up way too much space.

When you purchase mo'betta drives, get them in pairs.
One of the lovely things that comes with these "easy" tapeless formats, is now you must archive two copies of the original media as you no longer have a physical item (the tape) to put in a safe place as your backup.
These days I'm using a simple voyager q bare drive adapter for archives. Drop in a drive, back things up, remove drive, drop in second drive, make second back up, remove drive and store pair on shelf, delete old stuff from scratch drive. Start new project. Rinse and repeat.

  • Looping issue and extra space after inserting in DW page

I found an answer to looping an Edge composition, works like a charm in publish preview, still won't loop live on the web. Also when I insert it, it leaves a gap at bottom even though the div is 250 px high and the composition is 250px high... see www.arkaytd.com/dev2, note the gap between the edge composition and the navigation bar. • URGENT -- Printing reports adds extra spaces in between pages

    Hello Experts,
I would like to ask for your help regarding printing from concurrent requests.
I am currently having an issue with printing multiple pages from Oracle reports, both in text format and RTF/PDF formats.
When I generate a multiple page report and print it directly from a concurrent request, print outs generate extra space after each page even though page size is indicated in the reports (all of them are in letter size).
I have already tried editing the printer drivers both the actual driver config file and through the application but the results are still the same.
This is very important since printing is done on continuous paper and continuous pre-printed forms
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

  • Space after Number

The code I used to display carton dimension in Packing List is:
    &<FS_VBPLK>-LAENG(C.0)&X&<FS_VBPLK>-BREIT(C.0)&X&<FS_VBPLK>-HOEHE(C.0)&
The output text is 10 X20 X30 , there's an extra space after each number. How can I get 10X20X30 ?

    Hi
Normally the (C) after the variable to use to compress the variable but looks like it is not working because you have multiple variables that you are printing and because of the size of the variables you might be getting the spaces.
I am not sure if this can be done in the script itself but you can do it using subroutines in script.
In the form you need to call a perform like below:
    /:PERFORM join_fields IN PROGRAM zreport
                /:USING &vari1&
               /:   &vari1&
                /:CHANGING &vari3&
                /:ENDPERFORM
In the program you need to concatenate the variables in one field and compress no-gaps and display the value.
