Extra tabs won't open like before

number# 2 it used to be that right click would let me fill in specific fields but no more....this is NOT BETA-er

I just removed the ask tool bar and it fixes the tab problem!!
Go to the control panel ---- add /remove programs --- uninstall ASK toolbar.
You will have to close firefox

All of a sudden...the tabs won't open a new tab...when firefox is open I can SEE the new tab block with a plus in it but when I click, it doesn't open

I learned to LOVE firefox because of the multiple tab feature. I have the color tab add on and LOVE it!! But all of a sudden, the tabs won't open!!! FI: I have one tab open to HuffPo and then I click the square next to it with the + in the middle. This used to open a new tab but now when I click it doesn't open....I have tried upgrading to the beta...no use....uninstalled the beta and reinstalled 3.6...nothing....It is making me CRAZY!!!!

That can a problem with the Ask.com toolbar (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions)

My new tab doesn't work like before.

Hello, I can't speak English well. Please don't use difficult words.
Before when I clicked on + for open a new tab, a tab opened. On the new tab I could see icons for famous web like Facebook, YouTube, Google , yahoo and ....
But now when I open a new tab I can't see these icons. I want my Firefox becomes like before. Please help me.

I have this problem also. I use Firefox 32.03 on a Windows 7 64-bit machine.
At first i thought it was one of the many add-ons i use that was causing this problem, but after restarting Firefox in safe-mode (without any add-on) it still wasn't working properly.
I also tried the same website in Internet Explorer 11 and it works fine there, so it looks like a Firefox bug to me.
I have this problem since i updated Firefox to version 31 from 28.
If it wasn't for the "Classic Theme Restorer" add-on, i probably would have removed Firefox from my machines after being a Firefox user for about 8 years since version 2. What a mess Mozilla made of the Firefox UI... i hate it.
But back on topic: like the maker of this topic said, it doesn't always open de weblink in the same tab, in most cases it works as intended and opens a new tab when i use <CTRL> + <Mouse Left Click> on a weblink.
I hope you can reproduce this problem when visiting this website from a Dutch theme park:

All links on top of this page work fine, but when you use the links at the bottom-side of the photos (Condor, Excalibur, G-Force, Goliath) the webpage will open in the same tab.
If you need more examples of websites, with links that behave like this, i can find some very easily, but this was the last one where i noticed this behaviour.
Hopefully you can fix this bug.

Win 7 Firefox 3.6.13, new tab won't open when clicked, on desktop or laptop.

I cannot open a new tab in Firefox 3.6.13, running Windows 7. It doesn't work on my desktop, or my laptop. When I click on the "+" to add a tab, or right click on it and choose "New Tab", nothing happens.

I don't have an AskToolbar, nor a Yahoo toolbar. Between updating Firefox to 3.6.13, and MS Patch Tuesday last night, I cannot use right click to open a new window. I can open a link using right click and 'in new Tab' -- but I don't LIKE tabs! Lots of links on various pages won't open at all (it may be all of the links, I haven't tried ALL of them).
I tried reverting to 3.6.12, and the same problem occurred. Does that mean it came from Microsoft? Re-updated to 3.6.13 and it remains broken. So frustrated I want to cry!

When trying to go to Gmail, the tab won't open and just says "loading".

For the past three days, every time I try to go to Gmail, Firefox's tab says "loading" and won't open gmail. Gmail works fine on Internet Explorer on my laptop so I know it's not Gmail. No error appears, it just keeps trying to load for as long as I leave the tab open. Any ideas?? I haven't changed anything on my computer or any Firefox settings. Thanks!

In addition to the above, the first thing I would do is clear the cache and delete cookies for the site, this can sometimes help with accessing a site that previously worked. A new tab won't open since the latest upgrade when I click the + at the top?

new tabs open every other way fine, but nothing happens when I click the "+" in the tab row to open a new tab.

If something works in safe mode but not otherwise, it probably means that an extension is blocking it. Start disabling extensions until you find out which one is the problem.

After clicking for new tab, the tab does not open like it used to open. Pls guide on this.

I am new to Mozilla Firefox. Have been using it since over a month. It was running fantastic and I am very much satisfied. But a problem started recently.
Problem Faced: New TAB has stopped opening in the window. Please guide on this.

Try uninstalling the Ask toolbar and it should work again. There is a compatibility issue with the Ask toolbar and the current version of Firefox.

I have my Kendle app on the iPad. All of a sudden I cannot open my books. I see them, but they won't open like they did before.

I have not had a problem until recently. Could it be the new operating system I up graded too?

Plug it into power, and hold down the home and the sleep/wake button for 30 seconds.
If this doesn't work chances are something is wrong with your iPhone, I'd suggest taking it to an Apple Retail store. www.apple.com/retail (You can change your country at the bottom of the page if need be, that's for the US)
Also, if you look in the headphone jack... or look into the bottom where the dock connector plugs in... and you see a red circle... You've set off the Liquid Contact Indicators in your iPhone by getting liquid in your unit. That would definately be a reason for your iPhone to not be working.

New tab won't open

I have one open tab and a tab to the right with at plus sign. I use to be able to click the unused tab to open it up. For some reason now it will not open. I have settings for it to open when I click link etc and it won't do that either anymore.

Do you have that problem when running in the Firefox SafeMode?

Site Files tab won't open, until assets or Snippets first

Vista 64bit (no choice) CS4 Dreamweaver. I have never figured out when it occurs but when I come back to the code view after searching online or other tasks the Files and Folders tab for the currently loaded site is no longer active. I have to click on Assets or Snippets before Files. It is a just a major inconvenience. The state is being forgotten and none of those three tabs resources show when you return.They are all minimized. I would much rather see the files directory than The CSS Styles tab taking half the space up.
Any ideas how to stop this behavior?

Have you tried saving your preferred way as a custom workspace?
If not just try following -
In DW CS4 open up the panels in the way you want to and then go to Windows > Workspace Layout > New Workspace.
Once created you can select this as your default workspace so that each time you open up DW you see same setting.
Even if somehow it does not open in your custom workspace just go and click it once from the Windows > Workspace Layout (or from the workspace selection icon on the application bar - near top right of screeen.

Tabs won't open in safari on iPad 4

New iPad 4 running iOS 7.0.4 every time I try and open a new tab using the "+" button safari shuts down, even trying to open a new page from a link in a new tab don't appear to do anything. The space it there under my favourites bar but nothing's happening. Any thoughts, ideas? I can't see anything in the setting so may just have to pop in store and visit the Genius Bar!

Clear Safari, close Safari and reboot the iPad.
Go to Settings>Safari>Cookies and Data.
To close Safari - Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the Safari app and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

New Tab won't open a new tab

For the past two days I have not been able to open a new tab after my home pages have loaded. The only way I can get a new tab to open is if I hit F1 for firefox and then go from there or open a link from an email.

Please disable or uninstall the Ask toolbar extension to solve your problem. It has a known incompatibility with Firefox. See [[Uninstalling add-ons]].

Tabs won't open windows and won't change

I have about 10 tabs open from a previous session. None of them work now. The group tag on the far right doesn't work either.
This is the only window that works.

Dos it work if you open a new window?
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

Tabs won't open

After upgrade to the early version 4, I decided that I wanted to go back to my ver 3.5. After installing my older version, my Tabs have not allowed me to open them when clicking on another tab or when I use the drop down menu's. I have to right click on something and tell it to open in a new tab and then type in the correct url. What happened to my tabs?
I'm currently using ver 3.6.23 & still no tabs.

I'm having the same problem and I don't think it has to do with preferences. I didn't change any of my preferences, but now tabs only work sporadically-- I can't open a new tab with the toolbar button, from the dropdown menu, or by using ⌘-T. I'm using Safari 5.0.2. Any ideas?
