Extract an image which is only on opening screen

A while back I chose an image of my cat to use on the opening screen of my iPhone.
The cat is now dying and I would love to use that image in a multimedia program.
But I no longer have the original image.
Is there somewhere that the image is stored, and can I get to it to extract it?

It is possible to extract this file without jailbreaking. There is an application called mobilesyncbrowser that lets you extract files from your backup - it's going to cost $20 as the extract photos option is only available in the registered "Plus" version.
To extract the lock screen picture using this program it's located in Pictures & Other Files > Library and the file name is Lockbackground.jpg

Adobe Photoshop CS2 opening an image in middle of CS opening screen?

Can anyone please help me with a way of opening images in CS2 where after opening they will appear in the middle
of the CS screen rather then in the top left corner?
I can drag and maximize so they appear in the middle, but on reopening another image they default to the top left again, I would like them to always
open in the middle?

Still having problems? I was struggling to find any documentation for CS2 online, but realised that my bookshelf goes back to Photoshop 6, and I have Martin Evening's Photoshop for Photographers CS2. Unfortunately, I could see nothing in any of the Preferences tabs that would help.
At this stage I don't really know what you have tried? You should try to reset your workspace, and if that does nothing, reset your preferences. The usual way to do that is to hold down Shift Alt Ctrl while opening Photoshop, but I don't know for sure that worked with CS2.

CC is Creative Cloud, and Tabs are those things you see along the top of the screen in your web browser when you have more than one page open.

I am unfamiliar with the lv_vfw.llb, and have not used it before. However, I noticed that you stated that you are able to grab in color, just not snap in color. If this is the case, why not just perform a grab and then extract a single buffer from this grabbed data, which would likely be in color? This seems like a possible solution to the issue that you are seeing.
Other than that, I really don't know enough about the lv_vfw.llb to be of much help on this issue. Hopefully another member of this forum will be able to assist you with this software.

Photoshop cs4 opens images black and only in camera raw

I'm running Photoshop cs4 on a pc. Recently, it began having 2 issues. First, it started opening everything into Bridge Camera Raw instead of just opening the image itself. Next issue is that when I attempt to open an image from Camera Raw, it opens black. I can see the image is there in a layer, but the working screen is black. Every once in a while it will open normally. This is with all images, no matter what size the are.

On a Mac I don't know which directory it should be in.
Camera Raw preferences: Bridge: menu Adobe Bridge/ Camera Raw preferences.
Inhere you can set the wished behavior for tiff. By default it shows tiffs
only in ACR when you choose to do so with right mouse click menu (open in
Camera Raw) or if the Tiff had earlier been altered in ACR, then it opens
automatically in ACR unless you choose not to do so.

Unless you can find an open source ODBC driver for SQL Server that runs on Solaris (and I wouldn't be overly hopeful there) Heterogeneous Services would require that you license something-- a third party ODBC driver, a new Oracle instance, or an Oracle Transparent Gateway.
As I stated below, you could certainly use SQL Server's ETL tool, DTS. Oracle's ETL tools would require additional licensing since you're just on 9.2. You could also write a small application (Java or otherwise) that connected to both databases and transferred the data. If you're particularly enterprising, you could load the SQL Server Type 4 JDBC driver into Oracle's JVM and write a Java stored procedure that connected to the SQL Server database via JDBC, but that's a pretty convoluted approach.

I also have Jolly's problem. I found the iMovie 9.0.9 folder and tried to launch the older version of iMove. It would not launch. I removed all of the iMovie preferences from the Preferences folder, removed iMove 10 from the applications folder, and restarted my Mac. iMove 9.0.9 still won't launch and I can't access my videos created with the older version of iMovie. Is there a way to uninstall iMovie 10 and reinstall iMovie 9.0.9?

Select only those images which are in a Stack

Hi.
Is there any way to filter the Browser view to show only those images which are in a stack?
I often make a few details (cropped versions) of Masters, which I keep stacked with the Master. I would like to filter my Browser view to show either only those Stacks, or, alternatively, only those Versions which are not in a Stack.
Slightly more complicated: I have many whole-Library Smart Albums which pick up the cropped Versions (by Keyword). Some of these cropped Versions have become detached (un-Stacked). I would like to be able to filter these Smart Albums for Versions which are not part of a Stack.
Even more complicated: I would like to filter the same Smart Albums for Versions which have Stack-mates in the same Smart Album -- that is, I would like to identify within the Smart Albums those Versions which share a Master. I've made this slightly easier by Stacking the Versions with the Master, but I don't know how to filter an Album for those Stacks which contain two or more Versions.
In short, I'm looking to access the properties "Is in Stack" (or whatever Aperture calls it), and "Number of Stack-mates in Stack in this view" (or whatever Aperture calls it). Aperture knows this -- it is displayed visually -- but I don't how to access it.

What format are these images?
The health care industry is a bit behind the times, often relying on custom-made programs that read/write custom file formats (even with images or videos, rather than using standard file formats), and often those programs only run on Windows. My guess would be you've gotten a CD that is loaded with software to allow viewing of a custom file format on Windows and that won't work at all on a Mac.

I restarted the iPad, it is okay now! I think it is because I have been using the smart cover for too long, without shutting down the iPad completely! It just works fine with the airplay signal appearing again after restarting the iPad.

Extract Embedded Images-did you know that-

there is actually a feature in Illustrator to do this even though it is not called Extract Images?
Not only that once you extract the image you can update it as well you do not have to lace it again and reposition it.
When I saw this and realize it was there I could not believe it as it has been asked so many times and there have been numerous work arounds.
The reason I think it has passed everyone by is that it is not located in the links panel.
So to the chase.
Edit>Edit Image
and then
Edit>Update Image
The former opens the embedded image in Photoshop
edit it there and then save it
then back in Illustrator go to the latter and it will be updated.
Never noticed this before.
The only draw back is that it seems to only work on one image at a time.
I wonder how many users here knew about this little feature?

Yes you're right about that, and it is the best way if you have the original Illustrator file with the embedded image.
In my defense, I'm mostly having to do this sort of thing with PDFs that are sent to me. Most cases I have to change something in the PDF or pull artwork out for another project we are working on. After opening the PDF in Illustrator, we then just copy the image and even paste it straight into an email (Mac) and request the original file. If the original is not to be had, we then paste the image into a new Photoshop file and relink it. If need be, we'll replace it with another image later.
@rijackson --- you most surely can "Relink"... well that's what the button you choose in Illustrator is called... even if the image is embedded. This will place the image in the exact same place and size as the embedded image, thus "linking" it if you checked the Link box when placing.
Also, you can always choose Link Information and see what transformations the image has went through regarding size and rotation. This is also with a native Illustrator file only. The information can be used to calculate what you need to do to the image to revert to it's original size and rotation. Rather unfortunate, because something intuitive like Freehand used to have, like changing the percentage and angle in the Appearance panel was far better and easier to revert images, embedded or linked.
@rijackson --- considering all of the features and functions that Illustrator still does not have or are incomplete... yes, Illustrator as a whole is pathetic as the only pro vector alternative on the market. Not just this one omission, which is easily worked around. That's what I was trying to say to wazi9909.
* I just thought it should be mentioned again, that Monika's correct answer only applies to a native Illustrator file if you have it, AND if you save with PDF Compatibility or as an Illustrator native PDF. With any and all other PDFs saved with a preset like for prepress... the images have been compressed, and will be as we call them "baked". No matter how you copy, paste, export or open, the resolution, size and quality is "finished".

Loss of thumbnails of RAW images in Photoshop prior to opening them in Camera Raw

I recently purchased and started using a Canon EOS 7D Mark II. I found that with my Photoshop CS6 I was unable to open my RAW files in Camera Raw, so I downloaded an update of Camera Raw, viz. version 8.7.1 from the Adobe website. Now I can open the RAW images from my new camera in Camera Raw. However, I have lost the capacity to display a thumbnail image of a RAW file when using the open function of the file drop down menu in Photoshop. Now when I single-click on an ID number of a RAW image from the list of images, I see only a blank thumbnail. I save lots of time using image thumbnails for selecting images for editing in Camera Raw. Is there some way to restore the ability to see RAW image thumbnails in Photoshop prior to opening images in Camera Raw?

Which operating system are you using?
Are the blank thumbnails only for the files from the canon EOS 7D Mark II camera?
An alternative is to use Bridge CS6 or Mini Bridge to see the photos before you open them in photoshop cs6.

Raw Images still Icons only

After the latest round of updates from Adobe for Windows Bridge (Win7 62 and 34) I have the problem of all raw images showing up as icons in Bridge. The images will open in the converter fortunately but it would be nice to see what the image is before double clicking on it. I have followed all of Adobe's instructions but the problem persists. Deleting and reinstalling the raw plug-in does not fix the problem. I have had every glitch with Adobe Bridge ever reported since the very first version and a few unusual ones that Adobe support, in Microsoft fashion, denied could possibly exist. (Rant about perpetually incompetent Adobe programmers deleted).Apart from a complete program re-install (which is likely pointless as the latest Camera Raw upgrade will still be corrupted) is there a solution for this competely disastrous upgrade from Adobe?

Sadly: deactivate, uninstall, reinstall. If you have many plug-ins, particularly if they have Aobe-like activation restrictions, that must be considered.
When Photoshop does what it is supposed to do it is a wonderful tool.
But.
It is not clear why Adobe has not been able, or has not tried, to correct the many problems with Bridge since version 1. These are the two most bothersome problems I experience regularly. Adobe says the problems are unique to me but I doubt it since I have had the same issues on at least a dozen machines of all types:
Bridge tends to freeze if it has been opened for a long time and many images have been opened through Bridge; only rebooting the computer will solve this.
More often than not after a long sessiion in Bridge/CS-anyversion it is impossible to re-open Bridge, once closed, without rebooting the computer.
Both these issues exist in Windows XP/Vista/7 in both 32 and 64 bit versions of the OS and Photoshop and in every version of Bridge I have been afflicted with.
In CS5 I have not lost custom workspace arrangements, a frequent problem in prior versions, but I have lost the ability to preview raw images: which is worse?
These are not issues with the Windows OS but are specific to Adobe programming of a $600 program for Windows.
If I am going to work on a specific image I frequently open it directly from the desktop in order to avoid Bridge entirely because I never know what I am going to get.
