Extract Data from PeopleSoft to Hyperion Performance Scorecard

Dear All,
We've Installed Hyperion Performance Scorecard 9.3
Now we are looking a way to how do we Integrate our Peoplesoft 8.9 Data (Oracle DB)(like employees performance documents where we record all the achievements,performance,competencies etc. things)?
From the Internet i found some fade information that Oracle Data Integration adapter is required for this(Hyperion Data Integration Management Adapter for Performance Scorecard).
There seems Oracle has not provided proper documentations on Installing and using above things unlike Oracle DB have.
If anybody have some Docs and links for Hyperion Data Integration Management Adapter for Performance Scorecard installation would be helpful.

How to export/import data of hyperion performance scorecard?

I have a Hyperion Performance Scorecard Environment which save data in Oracle database. Now I am trying to setup another scorecard environment which has exact the same set of data and use MS SQL Server as database. What is the best way to dump data from Oracle one to SQL Server one? I tried to use HPS Import/Export Utility to export data from Oracle scorecard environment to .CSV file and then import .CSV file into SQL Server Scorecard environment. The exporting process went well despite of some warning message. However, I keep getting trouble with importing. There are a lot of issues such as inconsistency date format, data dependencies, missing comma in .csv file, etc. Could anyone suggest me some easier way to do this data dumping thing? All what I am trying to achieve is a clone of my HPS environment. Thanks a lot.

Use ODI to Extract Data from Hyperion Planning & Budgeting report to Excel

Can someone tell me please how to Extract Data from (Financial Reporting in) Hyperion Planning & Budgeting into Excel Using ODI?
Would the steps be the same as Creating an ODI Project and Interface: Exporting a Flat File to a Flat File? If not, why?

Where do you think the financial reports get their data from? Financial Reports pull data from data sources such as Essbase, HFM.

Performance issue while extracting data from non-APPS schema tables.

Hi,
I have developed an ODBC application to extract data from Oracle E-Business Suite 12 tables.
e.g. I am trying to extract data from HZ_IMP_PARTIES_INT table of Receivables application(Table is in "AR" database schema) using this ODBC application.
The performance of extraction (i.e. number of rows extracted per second) is very low if the table belongs to non-APPS schema. (e.g. HZ_IMP_PARTIES_INT belongs to "AR" database schema)
Now if I create same table (HZ_IMP_PARTIES_INT) with same data in "APPS" schema, the performance of extraction improves a lot. (i.e. the number of rows extracted per second increases a lot) with the same ODBC application.
The "APPS" user is used to connect to the database in both scenarios.
Also note that my ODBC application creates multiple threads and each thread creates its own connection to the database. Each thread extract different data using SQL filter condition.
So, my question is:
Is APPS schema optimized for any data extraction?
I will really appreciate any pointer on this.

Is APPS schema optimized for any data extraction? I would say NO as data extraction performance should be the same for all schemas. Do you run "Gather Schema Statistics" concurrent program for ALL schemas on regular basis?

Hyperion Performance Scorecard automatic Synch with Planning data

Hello all,
I was wondering if anyone knows how and if it is possible to automate the Data and Metadata Synchronization between Performance Scorecard and a Planning?
I have successfully set up the Planning database as an External data source but need to automate the synch process, as opposed to having an administrator manually click the buttons at set periods.
I'm guessing the automation will involve calling the relevant class from command line, but I don't know which one and what parameters to pass...perhaps there is even an easier way (let's hope!).
Can someone please give me any advise or information on how this can be achieved?

So,how to import technology to have this OR I need something else for this....

Extracting data from Essbase & loading into flat file through ODI

I want to extract data from Essbase and load it into a flat file through ODI(for extraction from essbase I'm using a report script) and I’m using these KM’s:- LKM Hyperion Essbase data to SQL,IKM SQL to FILE Append & for reversing I’m using RKM Hyperion Essbase.All the mappings have been done and the interface has been made. But when I’m executing the interface it is throwing the error below:-

It seems that you are trying to use the file as your staging areas. Hyperion LKM extracts essbase data into a DB staging area which can then be used by your file IKM to load it into file.
You need to use a RDBMS for your staging area.

Query : Hyperion Performance Scorecard Rollup Functionality

Hi All,
Hyperion Performance Scorecard Rollup Functionality in measure and scorecard template.
Query: We are implementing Hyperion performance scorecard for a client using measure template and scorecard templates after build client came up with following new requirements-
Strategy hierarchy as follows-
Level 1- SBU (Parent) Level 2- Groups (Child), 3- Teams( Chilld), 4- Desk ( Child), 5- RM (Child)
1 Along with Existing scorecards functionality they need to roll up 2 KPIs (Credit Quality1,Credit Quality2) explicitly only at RM level ( at lowest level).
2- Need to follow this hierarchy for these scorecards roll up (RMs to Desks to Teams to Groups to SBUs)
3- No of KPIs to be used/modified (credit quality2 means bad assets-non performing loan & Credit quality 1 means good assets-performing loan)
4- Both these KPIs should roll up to all RMs only but KPI bad asset (Credit Quality2) should not roll up to Desk, to Teams, to Groups, To SBUs but KPI1 Good Assets (performing asset) should roll up to all levels.
4.1-Example let’s assume there are 2 RMs (RM1 & RM2) RM1 is having bad asset & RM2 is not having bad asset then only for RM1 both KPI should roll up but at above levels 1st KPI (non-performing assets ) should not roll up but second KPI ( performing assets) should roll up.
5- No of scorecards required means RMs * approx 3000, Desk*Total numbers ,Teams*Total numbers ,Groups*total numbers, finally SBUs*total numbers.
As per my understanding in the existing HPS design we are using Measure Templates & Scorecard Templates in which all KPIs are automatically rolling up to RMs then from RMs to all above hierarchies, now for this new requirement explicitly we need to create another scorecard (secondary scorecard) with 2 KPIs both should roll up to RMs (3000 approx) but should not roll up to above hierarchy (to Desks to Teams to Groups to SBUs) only we need to roll up 1 KPI to all above hierarchies not the other KPI or this new scorecard.
As per my understanding in the current design all KPIs are rolling up to all levels.
Question : In current scenario is there a possibility or solution to restrict a particular KPI to rollup to above levels?*

I'm not sure that the Power Pivot plugin for Excel will be available here. We use Excel 2010. We have restrictions in our environment. Additionally, we have 32bit Office installed and my understanding is that you need 64 bit on both client and
server when working with Power Pivot. So exporting Excel Power Pivots from SharePoint 2010 to a 32 bit client wouldn't work (or vice-vera) wouldn't work.
By robust I mean the ability to utilize different types of data sources (CSV, EXCEL, SQL Server, ORACLE) as well as Data Models, (transactional, analytical, tabular). The ability to handle large datasets, pivot table funcitonality, drill down and drill
through, rich data visualizations.
Currently this data is in Oracle. I will need to export it to SQL and I would like to leave it as OLTP since OLAP technologies are not currently in our skill set. Hopefully these can be added in the next year or so. If Power View loses the bulk
of it's reporting power when moving to OLTP, I will just build these in SSRS UNLESS, I can use Group By, Rollup and CUBE in my queries to give Power View a data set where it's capabiliities can be utilized.

You will be able to test the MDX query in EAS, it is usually best to test the query first before trying to use it in ODI.
Is there any reason you are using MDX to extract the data, have you tried reportscript as I usually find it more efficient to extract the data.

I have to extract data from essbase to an oracle database table incrementally using informatica , can anyone tell me how to do it or give me some tips. I have been thinking about it for a whole day but have no ideas.
I cannot do the delete & insert method because this oracle database table is a interface table that has to deliver the data to Oracle ESB tables.

How to extract data from SAP in FDM 11121

I came across some documents from version 11113, says there is a SAP adapter, however ,when I check 11121 there's no such adapter, does anyone know how to extract data from SAP in FDM 11121?

I download a package from Bristlecone, but I dont see any xml files in it, just a bunch of dll and I didn't find any instructions on how to set up/configure in FDM, it just explained how to register in SAP app server and client.
Hyperion 11113 has readme on sap adapter(Hyperion Readme Template), but I cannot find the same readme file in 11121, all I can find is ERP Integration Adapter document. any idears where I can find at least a readme document?

How to extract data from Chart History?

Dear all, I have read a lot of posts, but still don't understand how to extract data from Chart history.
Suppose you acquired 1024 points of data every time, then use "build array" to build an array, then send to intensity chart to show, then save the history into a .txt file, but how to extact data from the file?
How Labview store the data in the 2D history buffer?
Anybody has any examples?

The simplest would be to save the 2D array as a spreadsheet file, the read it back the same way.
Maybe the attached simple example can give you some ideas (LabVIEW 7.1). Just run it. At any time, press "write to file". At any later time, you can read the save data into the second history chart.
If you are worried about performance, it might be better to use binary files, but it will be a little more complicated. See how far you get.

Error while extracting data from essbase

Hi All,
Now I'm tring to extract data from essbase by ODI, and at the sametime, I need to do some transformations, such as join with other relational tables or flat files to get more information about metadata. But unfortunately, once I add join into the interface, an error occurs. And it works fine if I extract directly (with no joins).
Is there any other way except using staging table? Our data vloume is large, using staging table will waste lots of storages.

Extract the essbase data to a staging area and then do the transformations in another interface.
The adaptor needs to extract the data first.
