  • Oracle B2B 11g question about pulling data from remote TP sftp server

    Hi,
We would like replace our custom b2b solution with oracle b2b, but without resulting much changes in remote TP side. To do that the following issues are to be resolved.
    1) in the existing custom b2b, host tp is pulling data from remote TP location. How does oracle b2b pull data from remote location using sftp(AS1 1.1)? Oracle document says that by using global listening channel, we can make oracle b2b listen to the sftp server? Is that correct? Is there any sample about how to configure and test it.
    2) For outbound file we would like to preserve the file name. If you use sftp for sending the file out, is it possible to preserve the filename?
    3) Some incoming files which are datafiles , does not have any identification pattern. Is there any other way to identify the document type? For example from which location we are pulling the file can tell us the document type.

Oracle document says that by using global listening channel, we can make oracle b2b listen to the sftp server? Is that correct? Is there any sample about how to configure and test it. I am not sure what do you mean by AS1 1.1 but yes, SFTP is supported in Oracle B2B and if you want to poll a SFTP location, then you need to create a listening channel in Oracle B2B. For creating a listening channel, please refer -
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14571_01/integration.1111/e10229/bb_listen_chan.htm#BAJJICJJ
    2) For outbound file we would like to preserve the file name. If you use sftp for sending the file out, is it possible to preserve the filename?Yes, it is possible. There is a setting "Preserve Filename" in transport protocol parameter of a SFTP channel which should be enabled for this purpose.
    3) Some incoming files which are datafiles , does not have any identification pattern. Is there any other way to identify the document type? For example from which location we are pulling the file can tell us the document type. In case of FTP/FILE/SFTP, file name can be used to pass document type and revision information to Oracle B2B. Please refer "Filename format" setting on the above mentioned link.
I figured it out from another thread about how to pull the file. I configured the listening channel so that it reads from a remote server using sftpo protocol. And I have given the filename format as %FROM_PARTY%.dat. I am putting a file like TESTBC.dat. TESTBC is the name of the remote TP. B2B is reading the file but, recognizes the document tupe, but says that FromTP null. What is the solution?
Make sure that TP name is same as what you are giving in filename (cross-check for spelling). You may also try with default naming convention (do not mention anything in Filename format in listening channel configuration) - %FROM_PARTY%_%TIMESTAMP%.dat
    for eg -
    Acme_12345.dat

  • Extracting data from Express to SQL Server

is there a way to extract data from a Personal Express (v5)
database into MS SQL Server (2000) using a DTS package ? I
haven't found any references to an Express ODBC driver so I
doubt it's possible and I may have to use SNAPI from VB.

    Hi
i am looking after a set of schemas and reports. One report is based on data in an sql server that is periodically extracted from oracle.
How might this be done? I am struggling finding the object that does thisThere could be any number of ways. It could be SQL Server connecting to the oracle database and querying the data directly. It could be a script on the SQL Server server that connects to Oracle and extracts the data. It could be a script on the Oracle server that extracts the data and then pushes it across to the SQL Server server. It could be a completely different script sitting on an unrelated server connecting to both databases. It could be a scheduled job running on the Oracle database that extracts the data and moves it across..... and so the list goes on.
It's unlikely we'll be able to tell you anything as you are the one with access to your servers.

  • How to extract data from the fields present in two or three tables

    Hi Experts,
I have a scenario where i have to extract data from the fields of different tables. e.g. let there 2 tables which have some number of fields . I want the data of 3 fields each from these 2 tables. How can i get that??
    Sam

    Hi
You can create view in tcode se11..
here you include all tables from which you want to fetch the data..
you need to give selection condition here
    eg..
say select empname from table A, select empadd from table B.. where empno(from A)=empno(from B)
(note that you dont need to write queries like this.. i have just given u the example)
After creating the view you can create datasource in RSO2..

  • Read Data from a different presentation server using IP address

    Hi Experts,
I have a excel file on a system with ip a.b.c.d...I want to upload data from that excel into SAP.
I am able to achieve it by using gui_upload function module by specifying file path in the format as
    a.b.c.d\Shared\abc.xls.
But, i am able to read the data only after i am logging into the remote system thru their user id and password using the RUN->... operation once....after i am doing this only, i am able to read the data....i want to read the data thru SAP, i will provide user id and password if required...only thru SAP...no other medium of interaction should be there.
    Please suggest me a approach.
    Regards,
    Lakshman.

Unfortunately, there is not a lot of documenation on how to use DDE in Forms. I would recommend you keep googling for examples. I know there are some demo's out there that show the "basics" of how to use DDE, but then you are pretty much on your own to "Trail and Error" your way through making it work.
I haven't actually worked with DDE in Forms 6i, but I have used OLE with WebUtil's Client_OLE to interact with MS-Office so I don't have any DDE examples I could give you. Sorry. I have seen some DDE examples here in the Forum so you could try searching here as well.

  • Extracting data from a SQL Server to BW

    Hi Experts,
Can somebody let me know how to extract data from a NON SAP
        SQL Server I mean
        1. Creating a Source System
        2. Connecting to the SQL server
        3. Creating datasources and extraction
        Kindly help me its urgent
        thank you
        arshad.

    Hi Ingo,
What I suggest is instead of extracting it to a file, can you use the function module which replicates this data to the mobile clients and use this function module to call the select statement. If a mobile client is able to access this info, then it must be doing a RFC call to some system whose logical system would have been in SAP as well. This is an assumption.
May be if you could call the same function to derive the required data instead of extracting it to a file and then uploading it.

  • Extract data from Flat file CSV to SQL Server 2008 using SSIS 2008 (Data gets corrupted when extraction)

    Hi,
I am trying to extract data from multiple CSV files to SQL into a single table. The data type of all the columns in SQL table is nvarchar(MAX).  I am able to extract the data from the flat files but some of the data(on extraction) is
corrupt including question marks(?) and other invalid special characters. Also I tried selecting the UTF-8, 65001(Unicode) format but the problem still persists. Also I tried using data converter but no use.
I checked with the data in the flat file but there is no data with question mark(?) or any other special characters.
The separator in the flat file is Comma(,)
    Please help.
    Thanks in advace.

The source system and application determines the code page and encoding. Is it Windows, Unix, Mainframe or some other type?
Unicode files sometimes begin with a byte order mark (2 bytes) to indicate little or big endian.  If you open the file in notepad and then select save as, the encoding in the dialog will show the encoding notepad detected based on the BOM.  If
that is ANSI instead of Unicode or UTF-8, you will need to know the code page the source system used when the file was created.

  • Using SQL Server 2012 SSIS to Extract Data From SAP

    Hi
What is the current best practice for using SQL Server 2012 SSIS to extract data from SAP R3? Please note we are looking for a solution that does not use SAP BW or SAP OHS.
Ideally we would like to build our ETL SSIS process to make a .NET call to an SAP RFC procedure and avoid using web services.
With SS2012 can we use any of these without using SAP BW:
    - SAP .NET Connector
    - MS ADO .NET
    - BizTalk .NET 3.0 Adapter
    Thanks and take care,
    Shayne

    Hi Shayne,
You can use the .NET Framework Data Provider for mySAP Business Suite along with SQL Server Integration Service (SSIS) to import data from an SAP system into SQL Server database tables, flat files, or other compatible destination types. You can create an SSIS
package that can be executed to import data from an SAP system.
You must use the SQL Server Import and Export wizard to import data into the SQL Server database. You must provide a select query to specify data to be imported. The query must confirm to the semantics supported by the Data Provider for SAP. You can start the
SQL Server Import Export Wizard either from the SQL Server Management Studio or from an Integration Service project in Visual Studio. Detail steps please see:

  • Extract Data from SAP BW

    Hello Experts,
We plan to extract data from SAP BW and load it to SQL server. I went through the guide 'xi32_ds_sap_en' which talks about  a few functions that need to be installed in SAP server, these functions are present in 'C:\Program Files\Business Objects\BusinessObjects Data Services\Admin\R3_Functions\transport'
    1. Do we need to install all 4 scripts in this directory? to extract data from SAP BW
    2. our objective is to Extract data from SAP BW using the open hub destination service, is this the best way to read huge volume of data?  or are there any good alternative ways.
    Thanks

    Hi Ranjit,
To read data from BW Open Hub Destination is only available option at present.

  • How to issue a self-signed certificate to match Remote Desktop Gateway server address requested

I have an RDG server named gw.domain.local with port 3389/tcp forwarded from
    gw.example.com.
    Using RDGM snap-in I created a self-signed SSL certigicate with FQDN gw.example.com.
But when I connect over RDP from outside the local network I'm getting an error:
Your computer can't connect to the computer because the Remote Desktop Gateway server address requested and the certificate name do not match
Because certificate subject name is gw.domain.local indeed.
So there question is: how to issue a certificate properly, or how to assign an existing one the name to match?

    Hi,
Thanks for your post in Windows Server Forum.
The certificate error which you are facing seems like certificate mismatch error, something like the security certificate name presented by the TS Gateway server does not match the TS Gateway name. You can try reconnecting using the FQDN name of the TS Gateway
server. You can refer below article for more troubleshooting.
TS Gateway Certificates Part III: Connection Time Issues related to TS Gateway Certificates
And for creating a SSL certificate for RD gateway, you can refer beneath articles.
    1.  Create a Self-Signed Certificate for the Remote Desktop Gateway Server
    2.  Obtain a Certificate for the Remote Desktop Gateway Server
    Hope it helps!
