Extract Filter for Photoshop cs6 Mac

Hi
I still use the extract filter with Photoshop cs6 and I rely on it for my pet portraits. I currently use it on a PC but am considering changing it to a Mac. Will I still be able to use the Extract filter on the Mac? I really can't get on with Refine Edges, it doesn't give me the smae quality results.

I just ran an update on Adone Application Manager and received the folloc error:
Extension Manager 6.0.5 Update
Installation failed. Error Code: U44M1P7
I changed the permissions of "Adobe Extension Manager CS6" to read and write.
Noticed an Adobe folder in Applications. Changed the name to Adobe old, thinking perhaps it was an older version from CS4. But no luck.
Any assistance, much appreciated.

Resize brush in the liquify filter, photoshop cs6 Mac (13.0.4)

Hello,
I just update to photoshop cs6 (Mac 13.0.4). Unfortunately, it's not possible anymore to resize brush in the liquify filter by "CTRL-Option-drag" like I did before in former CS6 version.
Has anyone encountered the same problem ?

its ctrl+option+shift and launch your ps, delete the
setting file when prompted.

Cannot find "Plug-ins" folder for Photoshop CS6 on my Mac.

I cannot find ”Plug-ins" folder for Photoshop CS6 on my Mac. Path suppose to be Macintosh HD > Applications  > Adobe Photoshop CS6 > Plug-Ins but that folder is missing. Any suggestion on how to find it?

If I understand it correctly, way to install extensions/plugins on Mac is
following
"Quit Photoshop, then copy the desired plug-ins (or extensions) to the
following locations:
Mac OS:
   - Applications/Adobe Photoshop CC/Plug-ins folder
   - Applications/Adobe Photoshop CS6/Plug-ins folder"
In my case it would be the last path, as I have CS6.
However, my problem is that Plug-ins folder is missing

Adobe won't validate serial numbers that I was given for Photoshop CS6 Extended on Mac. What should I do? Calling won't work as I am deaf and I could not find any solution on internet to this. I tried offline option and also reinstalling program but both of these would not still validate serial numbers that Adobe give me. Any ideas?

How to fix Adobe App Manager error code -60 Download appears corrupt but only for Photoshop CS6 Creative Suite Cloud App. Many attempts were made to install Photoshop CS6 with Adobe Application Manager without success. Every other Creative Suite Application was successfully downloaded. I keep getting Installation Failed when attempting the Photoshop install. How does one correct this?

Thanks Jeff! So, it totally appears as if it was a network issue. The corporate network where I work is quite likely the culprit. Where I was thrown off is that since I have admin rights on my computer, I can install software. But using Adobe Application Manager to install Adobe software wasn't working. And to make matters worse, there didn't appear to be any way to install Acrobat Pro for Mac without using AAM. The workaround that I used previously was to install the trial versions of Adobe software, and then just register them using my username and password. But the workaround for being able to install everything using AAM was to bring my computer home and download from my home network.

No local help files for Photoshop CS6 extended

I wish to use local help files for Photoshop CS6 but only online support is available. Local files are not listed under the Adobe Help preferences. The option to search only local rather than online help is greyed out. I found and downloaded a PDF with of the help files but don't know where to install it or if this is possible. I have CS 5 Creative Suite and this works fine giving the option of local or online help when accessed.
Is there a way to install and use local help files in photoshop CS6?

Hi and thanks for directing me to that article, it should have done the trick. I am using mac mountain lion 10.8.5.
The help system has always operated oddly - I have Photoshop cs6 but also the cs5 master suite installed. CS5 works fine but Photoshop cs6 only gives the option for online help and then directs me to the CC site. There is no simple listing for just Photoshop help in the help menu - presumably as it is not seeing it installed
I tried various configurations in the article, having to set up the folders they suggested. In my case, in a variety of alternative places as I have a boot up volume with the documents folder moved onto a RAID array so the Shared folder is not in the documents folder but in Users on the boot drive. So - confusing - but tried all the likely candidates and folder configurations/locations while following the instructions as closely as possible. Even tried an documents folder alias to redirect the program to the alternative path way.
At least now I have the PDFs and can look through them outside the adobe interface. The problem with the community site being questions regarding photoshop alone, yield answers for all sort of other issues and programs.

Serial numnbers are platform specific so you will not be able to use it for the Mac if it was initially designated for a PC. YOu will need to perform a platform swap. See the following for information:

The update for Photoshop CS6 Creative Cloud (64bit) downloads but failsto extractand install

The Adobe Application Manager reports an update for Photoshop CS6 Extended but when I tell it to update, it goes through a download and reports "Unable to extract downloaded files. Press retryto download again. U44M11210"
Repeated attempts to download and install have failed.

Photoshop CS5 can be run as a 64-bit application on Mac OS, 10.5.7 and higher. Because of the changes that were made to the application, some plug-ins are not available when you run Photoshop CS5 either as a 32-bit or a 64-bit application. To work with these plug-ins, run Photoshop CS5 as a 32-bit application, then when you are done using these plug-ins, return to working in Photoshop CS5 as a 64-bit application.
If you copy old plug-ins from previous versions of Photoshop, or third-party plug-ins that are not compatible with Photoshop CS5, into Photoshop CS5's Plug-in folder, you may see different problems, such as errors or crashes.
If you have set the Additional Plug-Ins Folder in the Plug-Ins preferences to a folder, deselect this option, or make sure all the plug-ins in this folder are compatible with Photoshop CS5.
The easiest way to determine if third-party, old plug-ins, or plug-ins from previous versions of Photoshop are causing problems is to move them all into a new folder called "3rd Party plug-ins."
If this folder is outside the Photoshop/Plug-Ins folder, you can use the Additional Plug-Ins Folder Plug-In preference to allow Photoshop to access or not access the plug-ins in this folder.

To run Photoshop CS5 on Mac OS as a 32-bit application, select the Adobe Photoshop CS5 application file, installed by default in the Applications/Adobe Photoshop CS5 folder. Choose File > Get Info, and select Open in 32 Bit Mode. Deselect this option to run Photoshop CS5 in 64-bit mode.
To determine if a plug-in causes an error or crash, remove all old or third-party plug-ins from the Adobe Photoshop CS5 > Plug-Ins folder, and deselect Additional Plug-ins Folder in the Photoshop > Preferences > Plug-Ins preference.

Will the raw filter ever become available for CS6 either as a filter download or a product update or will it only be available with CC?

In Photoshop CC ACR works as a smart filter only on smart object layers otherwise its a destructive filter for it changes the layer contents pixels and there are no associated raw settings. I would bet that CS6 will not get ACR as a filter. However a script was developed before CC that basically give you ACR as a smart filter for Photoshop before Photoshop CC. It may be a little less capable and does involve more processing. The way the script works is it saves the layer's layer masks and makes a tiff file of the layers contents then places that tiff file into the document through ACR replacing the original layer that the script has deleted finally the script add back the saved layer masks. ACR does not show as a smart filter but the layer has become a smart layer "a placed tiff image" opening its embedded object will reopen ACR.
