Extract text data from dbc on the fly

Hi All,
I am currently setting up a testsystem for a CAN based project with LV7.1 and Teststand 4.
I have my PXI8461 CAN card sending and receiving CAN messages fine but I wish to perform some work on all channel ( signal ) information before passing it up to Teststand for analysis.
For my Teststand purposes it is preferable to work with text, for example if the DUT has a button pressed then the appropriate signal gets sent up to Teststand as "On" or "Off" etc rather than 1 and 0. ( CANoe has this feature and the LDF driver kit for LIN in Labview also )
This is very useful for Teststand when checking test conditions rather than trying to equate a test with a number, so tests can be written like if result = "Ignition On" then Pass else Fail.
The dbc file I have contains this text representation of data but is there any VI which can be ran after a Read Channel which will convert Channel data to text ?

Thanks for the post! and I hope your well today.
Im not very familiar with the CAN palette, but Im sure we could use Lower Level VIs to build this functionality.
So, when on the fly, the CAN message is a number (0 or 1) and then convert it using a case structure?
I imagine this issue is more complex then I have caught on so far, so please, maybe some example code etc would help.

    I have just been given five large boxes of documents which are old work orders which include (in the same position on every page) a customer's name, address, tel etc.  I'm pretty adept at scanning stuff to pdf using Adobe Acrobat 9.0 Pro (version 9 5 1 283) but I don't know how (if it's even possible) to batch scan just that part of the page which contains the customer data and save it to Excel or csv or similar.  I know I could highlight the required text on each page and copy and paste it into Excel but is there a more elegant solution?  To create the pdf, I can scan using our office Epson all-in-one (although it's on the other side of the office) or a Neatdesk Scanner I'm trying out.  The latter scans the pages quickly but if I set the Neat software to treat the document as a contact card, it only picks up our company address from the top of the page and ignores everything else ;-)  I'm running Windows 7.

    You may try the following AppleScript script. It will ask you to choose a root folder where to start searching for *.map files and then create a CSV file named "out.csv" on desktop which you may import to Excel.

  • How can I use Automator to extract specific Data from a text file?

    I have several hundred text files that contain a bunch of information. I only need six values from each file and ideally I need them as columns in an excel file.
    How can I use Automator to extract specific Data from the text files and either create a new text file or excel file with the info? I have looked all over but can't find a solution. If anyone could please help I would be eternally grateful!!! If there is another, better solution than automator, please let me know!

    Not able to extract  performance data from .ETL file using xperf commands.
    Xperf Commands:

    Getting following error after executing above command:

    The first DataSource (2LIS_03_BX) is used to extract an opening stock balance on a
    detailed level (material, plant, storage location and so on). At this moment, the opening
    stock is the operative stock in the source system. "At this moment" is the point in time at
    which the statistical setup ran for DataSource 2LIS_03_BX. (This is because no
    documents are to be posted during this run and so the stock does not change during this
    run, as we will see below). It is not possible to choose a key date freely.
    The second DataSource (2LIS_03_BF) is used to extract the material movements into
    the BW system. This DataSource provides the data as material documents (MCMSEG
    structure).
    The third of the above DataSources (2LIS_03_UM) contains data from valuated
    revaluations in Financial Accounting (document BSEG). This data is required to update
    valuated stock changes for the calculated stock balance in the BW. This information is
    not required in many situations as it is often only the quantities that are of importance.
    This DataSource only describes financial accounting processes, not logistical ones. In
    other words, only the stock value is changed here, no changes are made to the
    quantities. Everything that is subsequently mentioned here about the upload sequence
    and compression regarding DataSource 2LIS_03_BF also applies to this DataSource.
    This means a detailed description is not required for the revaluation DataSource.

  • How do I write a vi that will save graph data and text data (related to the graph) so the next time I want to view the graph data the text data is included in the read vi?

    I am new at writing vi's and hope you may be able to help. I would like to create a vi that will graph measurements taken from a daq device. I would like to include text data that a user can choose from (example: machine number, test circuit, load cell type) that will stay with the graph so when the graph is viewed at a later time the text data (explaining parts of the graph) will display with the graph data. I have included a vi I am using to capture and display a force value. Any help would be greatly appreicated.

    What you want is a DATALOG file:
    When you save a file, use the BUNDLE function to bundle your machine number, test circuit, whatever (include a few spare fields), plus your graph data. Get the graph data from the source, or use a local variable of the graph itself.
    Wire the bundle output to the DATALOG TYPE of a NEW FILE function. (I presume you'll use a FILE DIALOG set to SAVE FILE to choose a file path).
    Write the same bundle output to the DATA input of a WRITE FILE function.
    Use a CLOSE FILE function to (ahem) close the file.
    When you want to read a file, use a FILE DIALOG set to EXISTING FILE (or some other means) to specify what file to read. Wire the same cluster type to the DATALOG TYPE of the FILE DIALOG, so that it will only
    offer files of the correct type.
    When you have a file path chosen, wire the bundle to the DATALOG TYPE input of a FILE OPEN operation.
    Use a FILE READ to read a single cluster - the output of FILE READ will be a cluster of the right type.
    Use a CLOSE FILE function to....
    Out of the FILE READ function, you can UNBUNDLE BY NAME the data and send to the graph and the other fields, or, if you're clever, you can use a cluster on the screen, and not unbundle it. That's harder though, since you probably want the text fields to be controls (inputs) and the graph to be an indicator (output).

  • Infoobject change for extracting texts data.

    Hi BW guys,
    Here is my requirement.
    I have one info object 'salesmen', which is already used in some other ODS & Cube's.
    Now I want to extract texts data for the object 'salesmen', for that I will need to change my infoobject (changes are : adding credit control are object under compounding).
    But while i am activating the info object again it is giving errors.
    Error messages:
    1) InfoObject XXXXX (or ref.) is used in data targets with data -> Error:
    2) Characteristic XXXXX: Compound or reference was changed
    3)InfoObject XXXXX being used in InfoCube XXXX (contains data)
    etc....
    But i don't want to delete the data in any data target.
    Is there any way to solve this problem?

    If you have not many cubes and ODSs with this salesman, you can consider another, beter, but more time-consuming way.
    1. Create a new IO for your salesman, add a compounding attribute as you want.
    2. Load master data for the new IO.
    3. Create copies of your infoproviders.
    3. In each of them delete an old salesman IO and insert a new one.
    4. Create export datasourses for old cubes.
    5. Create update rules for new data targets based on old ones.
    6. In URs map your new IO with the old one. All other IOs should be mapped 1:1 (new<-old).
    7. Reload data targets.
    That's all.
    The way I proposed earlier is less preferrable. Because anyway you'll have to change loaded into data targets data. And in this case it's better to change data model as you want.

    I have a doubt reg extracting updated data from SAP to BOBJ DS. For example i am extracting 50000 records from SAP table to BOBJ DS say its taking half an hour, after extracting data 10 more records have added in the same table. Do we need extract the whole record again or do we have some other way to extract only those 10 records from table.
    Please help me.  I have searched in forums but cudnt find the exact solution fyi.

    Apart from stepd 1,2, you need to create a Target Data store and a table to load your MARA data.
    3. Now the MARA data will be available in data store(DS_ERP), say table name as BO_MARA
      Why do you want to change the table name? Are you planning to stage the data anywhere?
    4. Create a dataflow source as BO_MARA, query transform and destination as a table
    Data transport object is required if you are using R/3 Data Flow.
    This would suffice just for a full load, if all your transformations can be incorporated inside the Query transform.
    5. Do Transformation.
    6. Transformed data will be available in target table.
    Only after executing the job that the transformed "data" will be available in the target.
    The above part mentions only about a Source, Query transform, Source Data Store and table.
    Apart from these
    You would require a Script object to write the condition, to SELECT the MAX timestamps. You would require Variables to be created in your job to redirect your job path and to restrict the data extracted.
    Use your DataFlow in a Conditional object. If load type is first, in the then part use the dataflow which you might have already designed. Else part will have a replicated Data Flow with the above mentioned WHERE condtion in Query transform.
    Suggest you to refer Desiger document and DI supplement for SAP as well. Inform if you are stuck.

  • When extracting SD data from R/3, err in tRFC raised that "No service for."

    Hello fellows,
    when I'm extracting SD data from R/3, an error raised about IDOC that "No service for system SAPSB2, client 100 in Integration Directory", and there is no work processing working in the R/3 system, could anybody help?  Thanks!

    Hi,
    You are extracting Data from ECC, so here no way related to XI, I think, the problem is with Parner Profile and IDoc settings, so chek it in WE20.

    take IDoc nos from BW-->RSMO (in the detailed tab bottom you can find OLTP IDoc nos) and then goto ECC, BD87 and give that IDoc and check,
    And also check in WE05 what is the Idoc Statu, this is connection problem only, so check with BAsis team.

  • JSObject returns wrong date. How can I extract correct date from digital signature?

    I'm trying to extract name and date from digital signatures by using JSObject in Excel VBA, but JSObject returns wrong date. Year, month, hour and minute are correct, but only day is incorrect.
    Here is my code. I'm using Acrobat 8.1.3.
    Please tell me what's wrong with this code and how I can extract correct date from digital signatures.

    You can use TDMS file format to save the data. I have attached a reference Vi.
    On button click you can log the data or remove the case structure and continuous log the complete acquisition data.
