Extracting an R/3 report to BW
I have an R/3 report for PPV (purchase price variance) and my customer wants to be able to get to that report from BW.
Is there an easy way to directly extract R/3 report out to BW?
I do not want to plough through SAP code and figure out the logic and re-write an ABAP program to capture the data and house it in custom tables and then flow it to a BW cube.
If anyone knows of any easy way to extract an R/3 repport to BW please let me know.
Thanks for your help
Fred Gomez
Fred,
Have you considered using the RRI interface and linking this report as a jump target to some of your BW reports?
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/99/08629bd3e41d418530c6849df303c9/content.htm
This way, the user will be taken to the R/3 report from BW.

Extract R/3 Abap Report to BW
Dear Consultants,
I need to extract an abap report result from R/3 into the BW.
Can I call the r/3 abap report in BW?
How can I do this??
Best Regards
MehmetHi Mehmet,
You cannot extract the results from a R/3 report into BW directly. You can however go from a BW report to a R/3 transaction using RRI - Report to Report Interface.
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/99/08629bd3e41d418530c6849df303c9/content.htm
I guess your requirement is to get the same R/3 report in BW. If thats the case then check these posts:

How can I put a file in a directory server extracted by a abap report?
Hi!
I need to extract data from r/3 server by a report and put the output into one file in a directory of the server.
In Abap code someone know how can I do that?
Thanks!Hi,
I post this in the Abap forum but the response are very poor to make this. So, I think to post the message in XI forum because I work with thing of XI and I know that someone know how to put the file in the same server that I take out the data.
Tuhin give me a excellent link to make that!
Thanks! -
Extract Data in sub report to main report
Post Author: Karl1975
CA Forum: Formula
Hi I have written both a main and sub report in V10 that shows grouped data by Name with a total count on each Name:-
EG:-
Name Numbers
Tim Smith 10
John Smith 15
I need to extract the data from the sub report that matches each of the Name into the Main report. So I can calculate a ratio.
EG
Name Numbers (Numbers from Sub Report)
Tim Smith 10 10
John Smith 15 12
Is this possible?
Many thanks.Post Author: sharonmtowler
CA Forum: Formula
you can use shared variables to pass the data from the sub to the main. in the knowledge base you can find instructions on creating these.
make sure you do not surpress the value in the sub or it wont pass through. place the variable in the main below the sub report. -
Problem in Excel after extracting data from SAP Report
Hello,
I have a problem with Excel file after extracting it from one of the SAP report.
When my client extracted data from SAP in to excel he is coming across minus symbol on both sides of the number.
for ex: -447492177-
When i extracted same SAP report in to excel i didnt face any such problem.
Please share your inputs on what could be the problem.1. Make sure your client and you are using the same version of Microsoft Excel
2. Let your client try to OPEN the exported xls file from a existed workbook instead of double-clicking the file directly.

Use ODI to Extract Data from Hyperion Planning & Budgeting report to Excel
Hello
Can someone tell me please how to Extract Data from (Financial Reporting in) Hyperion Planning & Budgeting into Excel Using ODI?
Would the steps be the same as Creating an ODI Project and Interface: Exporting a Flat File to a Flat File? If not, why?
Best Regards.
Edited by: Saturday on May 26, 2012 9:55 PMWhere do you think the financial reports get their data from? Financial Reports pull data from data sources such as Essbase, HFM.

Extract Sql Query with Actual Parameters from Report
Hi
I am able to extract query from Crystal Report using the following code :
ReportDocument.ReportClientDocument.RowSetController.GetSqlStatement(new GroupPath, out tmp);
But the sql query retrieve comes in the following format :
select name , trans_code, account_code from command_query.accounts
where account_code = {?Command_query_Prompt0} and effective_date < '{?Command_query_prompt1 }'
The parameters which I m using in the reports are :
Account_Code and Effective_Date .
Why does my extracted sql translates it into {?Command_query_Prompt0} and '{?Command_query_prompt1 }' .
Is there any way to map this to the actual parameter values ?
OR
Can we extract the query after assigning the values ?
Any help is appreciated ...
Thanks
Sanchethi,
You can create nested sql query with conditional parameters,
For example
Select Code From OITT Where Code IN (Select ItemCode From OITM
Where ItemName LIKE '[%0]' + '%%')

a good thing is to search the BI Content:

If it is a standard szenario you can activate the relevant objects in BI system (BI Content).

Date value in report template Query
Hello - I have a report that is scheduled to run every first day of month. It extracts the data and reports the all orders information for the last month i.e. if the report is running on September 1st 2010 then it will show the data for the August 2010.
My report heading needs to be in format as below:
Total Number of orders Report As of <MON> YYYY
For example;
Total Number of Orders As of AUG 2010
Total Number of Orders As of JULY 2010
Can you guys please tell me how to set this format in RTF template.
BIP verion: 10.1.3.4
I tried this format <?xdoxslt:sysdate('DD-MON-yyyy')?> but apparently I can not subtract from this i.e. <?xdoxslt:sysdate('DD-MON-yyyy') -1?>

Edited by: user12954983 on 31-Aug-2010 12:56using this <?xdoxslt:ora_format_date_offset(xdoxslt:sysdate(),2,’+’)?> is showing me an output of 100831 if i run it now which is the same date as of sysdate.
However i found this and it worked
<?format-date:(xdoxslt:ora_format_date_offset(xdoxslt:sysdate('YYYY-MM-DD'),31,'-'));'MON-YYYY'?>
To be pricise I used:
As of <?format-date:(xdoxslt:ora_format_date_offset(xdoxslt:sysdate('YYYY-MM-DD'),31,'-'));'MON YYYY'?>
In my final template I will have like this:
As of <?format-date:(xdoxslt:ora_format_date_offset(xdoxslt:sysdate('YYYY-MM-DD'),1,'-'));'MON YYYY'?>
Thanks for your help though
