Extracting Archived Data To BW

Hi all, I created a transparent table and a generic data source for archived data but I couldn't see its values in the rsa3. when I look the archived data from SARJ -> ENVIRONMENT->ARCHIVE EXPLORER, I can see data. but even I created a generic data sorce that based on this archive object's transparant table, I couldn't see data at rsa3. What should I do? I used SARJ -> DISPLAY -> TECHNICAL DATA BUTTON-> "structure table" name as my generic data source's transparent table name like below documant. what is wrong?

  • Extract Archived data to BW

    Hi Experts,
    I am running BI 7.0, have PBS adds on connected to my ECC 6.0. My requirements are to extract some MM, FI as CO archived files to BW. I read the [http://www.pbs software.com/medien/whitepaper/PBS_Archive_Data_Extraction_from_ERP_Guidelines.pdf] but still unclear.
    1/ For MM documents I am thinking to run the pbs extraction reports as /pbs/cmme_export for example
    That report converts the archived files into text files then into Sap AIS format (all that happens behind the scene or should I need to intevene in somewhere?)
    2/ for the FI and CO, I need to enabled the respective extractors datasources to fetch the archived files
    Extracting data to psa in this case would happens in just 1 process(1 extract structure = online data + archived data) or 2 processes (1 extract structure(online data to psa) 1 extract structure(archived data))?
    Does that have to be done sequentially on in parallel?

    Hi,
    Do you got any solution, how to extract R/3 archived data using 0FI_AR_4 in BI. Please Share with us.

  • Extract Archival data and display in report

    Hi All,
    I prepared a report to display the details of GL accounts with vendor details.
    i need to extract archived documents also and display in my report.
    Kindly let me know how to extract the archived FI documents.
    Regards,
    Saravana

    Hi..this is really habit of doing R and D.
    Generally, we do archive the fi documents using the archiving object FI_DOCUMNT in the transaction SARE which archives all the tables related to FI application area.
    Also, we do generally view the archived fi documents in the transaction SARE  ..just you need to pass the object name as FI_DOCUMNT and the info structures if active.
    We do also have the read program to extract the all the archive fi documents...please check this program: RFBELJ00
    you can develop your own program as per the above standard one. But do you think, it is neccessary???
    Please let me know if you need any inputs from me..!
    Please rewards points if sounds helpful/useful.

  • Extracting Data from Archived data files in R/3

    Hi Experts,
    I have a situation here!!!
    I want to extract data from R/3 for BW. In R/3 system, data is present in archived files (which are not in readable format). In R/3 system, the report definitions are ABAP codes which give output. These ABAP codes uses same infostructure, archived files are also same, but the logic is different for every report. I am trying to modify these ABAP codes to get data in a format which can be loaded in BW, but then i have to make different cubes for different report outputs in BW.
    Is there any way in which i can read the structure of these archived files so that i can design a single cube to store data of these files?

    Hi Arindam,
    It is possible to extract archieved data from R/3. Following link contains the 'How to' guide for the same.

  • Extracting R/3 archive-data like DS 2LIS_04_P_ARBPL

    Hi,
    I need an idea how to extract archived R/3 data via Archiving Information System.
    I already read the "How to...extract archived R/3 data via Archiving Information System". But I can't get all the fields like the standart datasource 2LIS_04_P_ARBPL is providing me from R/3.
    The Archive Object pp_order should!? contain the necessary fileds, but with the given Field Catalog
    SAP_PP_ORDER001
    SAP_COBK_PPOR01 and
    SAP_AUAK_PPOR01
    I'm just able to select <b>some</b> of the necesary fields I need for my InfoCube.
    Where can I find the other fields? Are they in an other Archive Object or how can I see the whole structure (and available fields) of pp_order, so that I can extend the Field Catalog SAP_PP_ORDER001 manualy.
    For any ideas or hints, I would be very thankful!!

    can u thro some light on this....

    I want to mention one point here. I have total 4 machines out of these 3 machines above

    Hi,
    I consider that you can try to use xperf to collect the trace etl file and see if it can be extracted on this computer:
    Refer to following articles:

  • URGENT!!!!  - Reading Archived Data from a Report.

    Hi,
    The data, prior to 15 months, of some tables (BSEG, BSAK),
    used in the report YGF11347 has been archived.
    Previously this report YGF11347 was run for vendor payment information for any time frame
    through FBL1N.  So any vendor line items from 2004, 2005, 2006 and current year,
    all data elements were available to be extracted and displayed on the report.
    Recently the Check Amount is missing when executing the report for payments made prior to
    04/01/2006. This is because of archiving the data prior to 15 months.
    My requirement is tht i need to display this archived data also in the report "YGF11347".
    Can anyone please help me on this issue.

  • Archive data of using DART : Job lock problem in table TSP01

    Hi ,
    I'm facing problem while archiving from Production system to UNIX using DART.
    Using TC: FTW1A to data extract, once data has extracted, we need to do verifaction progess through TC. FTWE1(run a BG jobRTXWCHK4) and FTWD(BG Job RTXWCHK2).
    When I am running TC: FTWD(BG Job RTXWCHK2)to verify, it was holding an extensive lock on the TSP01 table for long period of time which blocking others processing with this table, So We need to terminate this job. For the time being solution is to run this job during weekends.But I want solution for this.
    Is any boby can help me in this problem?
    Regards,
    Nupur S Jaipuriyar

    Locking a row that does not exist can be difficult.
    On most database you can lock an entire table through "LOCK TABLE <table>", however this may be extreme. Potentially you could also insert an empty row into the table with the id that you want to lock, then you would have a write lock on the row until you commit the transaction.

  • BW on HANA, Archive data to Hadoop

    Dear All,
    We are planning to start a poc for one of our clients. Below is the scenario.
    use BW on HANA for real time analytics and Hadoop as a cold storage.
    Archive historical data to HAdoop
    report on HANA and Hadoop.
    Access Hadoop data using SDA
    I request you to provide implementation steps if somebody have worked on similar scenario.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Rajeev Bikkani

    Hi Rajeev Bikkani,
                   Currently NLS using HADOOP is not available by default and SAP highly recommends IQ for NLS.If you opt for IQ in longer run it will be easy to maintain and scaling up and also for better query performance.In longer run it will yield you better ROI. Initially HADOOP will be cost efective but amount of time user spends to get this solution will be challenging and later on maintaining it and scaling it up also be very challenging.. So SAP highly recommeds IQ for a NLS. SAP positions Hadoop to handle Big data along with  HANA for mainly handling unstructured data and not for NLS. So please reconsider your option.
    I went  through the link and I dont agree with the point "Archiving was not an option, as they needed to report on all data for trending analysis. NLS required updating the info providers and bex queries to access NLS data. SAP offers Sybase IQ as a NLS option but it doesn't come cheap with a typical cost well over a quarter million dollars."
    Because you can query on the archived data and it doesnt need data to be written back to providers, during runtime data will be picked from NLS and showcased.
    If you still wanted to use HADOOP as NLS , then I can suggest you an process but I have not tried it personnaly.
    1)Extract data selectively from your infoprovider via OHD and keep it in OHD table.
    2)Write the data from the OHD table  to Hbase table .(Check the link below for how to do it.)
    3)Delete the data fron the OHD table.
    4)Whatever data  moved to OHD table should be deleted from the infoprovider by slective deletion.
    5)Now Connect the HANA to HADOPP via SDA and virtualise teh table to which we have written the data.
    6) Then build a view on top of this table and query on it.
    7)HANA view historical data can be combined with BW provider data via open ODS or Composite provider or Transient provider
    Reading and Writing to HADOOP HBASE with HANA XS
    http://scn.sap.com/community/developer-center/hana/blog/2014/06/03/reading-and-writing-to-hadoop-hbase-with-hana-xs
    Hope this helps..

  • Archiving data as XML

    Hi,
    I'm trying to write an archive routine (On Oracle 9.0.1)which can extract account data and store it in an XML file. The file may be reloaded later if required. I've looked at the XML-SQL Utility and which seems to do the job but the file limitations with PL/SQL are causing problems (create dir etc). I could use the Java API although would prefer PL/SQL.
    Also if I had 3 tables emp, address and account and was able to build the required sql for selection for each table could I store these 3 XML blocks within the 1 file and use XSU to parse the file and perform the required DBMS_XMLSave.insertXML on each block or is there a better way the achive a solution to this problem,
    Many Thanks,
    Trev.

    i don't think you could reload this back into the grc system therefore you are stuck with raw text file dumps I think.

  • Reading archived data of different archive objects in Z programs

    Hi,
       I have Z programs which are getting data from various tables. Now i needt to read archived data of those tables in my Z programs also. i.e. i need to modify those programs so that data archived for those tables should also be extracted. Now for exmple if the program is fetching data from MARA, EKKO, LIKP, KONP tables based on certain selection criteria, then how do i fetch archived data for same criteria as each of these tables may belong to different archive objects ? Please help me. Thanks in advance.

    Hie Naganath
    Using transaction SARA you can identify the archive objects for the tables you want to use.
    For material master you can use object MM_MATNR, for Purchasing documents use object MM_EKKO, for conditions use SD_COND and for deliveries use object RV_LIKP.
    Retrieve the archive key and offset from table ZARIXMM5 (for Purchasing documents) for your select options and pass the offset and key to function ARCHIVE_READ_OBJECT to get the handle and then pass the handle to function ARCHIVE_GET_TABLE to read the record.  Have a look at the below code
    select archivekey archiveofs into corresponding fields of table lt_arch_keys
                   from zarixsd1 "SD Index table for billing documents
                  where vbeln in s_docrng
                    and kunrg in s_arc_kn
                    and fkdat in s_arc_dt
                    and fkart in s_arc_rt
                    and vkorg in s_arc_og.
      loop at lt_arch_keys assigning <fs_lt_arch_keys>.
    *Read information from archive
        call function 'ARCHIVE_READ_OBJECT'
          exporting
            object         = 'SD_VBRK'
            archivkey      = <fs_lt_arch_keys>-archivekey
            offset         = <fs_lt_arch_keys>-archiveofs
          importing
            archive_handle = ls_handle
          exceptions
            others         = 1.
    *Get the requested header detail data for billing document
        call function 'ARCHIVE_GET_TABLE'
          exporting
            archive_handle          = ls_handle
            record_structure        = 'VBRK'
            all_records_of_object   = 'X'
            automatic_conversion    = 'X'
          tables
            table                   = lt_vbrk "Header data
          exceptions
            end_of_object           = 1
            internal_error          = 2
            wrong_access_to_archive = 3
            others                  = 4.
    *Get the requested line item detail data for billing document
        call function 'ARCHIVE_GET_TABLE'
          exporting
            archive_handle          = ls_handle
            record_structure        = 'VBRP'
            all_records_of_object   = 'X'
            automatic_conversion    = 'X'
          tables
            table                   = lt_vbrp "Line item data
          exceptions
            end_of_object           = 1
            internal_error          = 2
            wrong_access_to_archive = 3
            others                  = 4.
        clear: ls_vbrk.
        loop at lt_vbrp assigning <fs_lt_vbrp>.
          read table lt_vbrk into ls_vbrk with key vbeln = <fs_lt_vbrp>-vbeln.
          move-corresponding <fs_lt_vbrp> to lt_archive_records.
          move-corresponding ls_vbrk to lt_archive_records.
          append lt_archive_records to gt_archive_records.
        endloop.
      endloop.
    Do the same for your material master and condition records as well.
