Extracting individual drivers from BC 2.1 update ?

I am trying to sync a Windows PDA (Vista OS w/Parallels),,and don't want to do a total update for fear of getting problems that many of you are having trouble with.So, I am wondering whether I for example,get the bluetooth drivers (or any other separate drivers)directly out of the .exe process?By the way,I downloaded the 228mb update,placed it on my Parallels (Vista Desktop),clicked on the update to see what would happen, and absolutely nothing happened,not even a setup menu? I keep seeing mention that I should put my Leopard CD in to my drive to get drivers for BC,,but aren't those drivers already installed as part of the Leopard? From what I understand, my Parallels setup is not using BC (no separate partition setup), but still the Vista OS goes to get BC drivers I guess, and that is why I am thinking that I should be needing those drivers, but without the whole update.

The bootcamp drivers on the Leopard DVD are not installed anywhere by default. The Bootcamp assistant is, but not the drivers. The drivers are on the DVD in a separate partition... when you put the DVD into the computer with Windows running, you will see just the Bootcamp driver installer (not the Leopard installer.)
The BC 2.1 update is a .msp file embedded into a self extracting archive. I have tried a few tools to take apart the .msp with no luck.

is there a possibility to obtain drivers from the MS Server and the "other" updates from the WSUS-Server?
We have workstations with Win7 and XP and pluged in devices (USB) should obtain the drivers (if available) automatically from MS-Server.
Obtaining drivers through WSUS is not an option.
The Group Policy "Computer Configuration\...\Windows Update" is set to obtain updates from "intranet Microsoft update service location".
Should there be no possibility to distinguish between driver and update obtaining locations,
then is it possible to set WSUS as primary obtaining location and as secondary the MS-Serve?

I ask, because this is exactly the setting that has to be changed so that everything works the way I want.
(at least for the Win7 PCs. I don't care much about the XP-PCs because they will be replaced in the near future)
Well one option is to change this setting manually on every PC, but this would be a huge PITA.
Can this be done in a policy or with a script (registry?)?

Used Drivers From Disc - Should I update? - Z77A - G45

So, I bought a Z77A-G45 to swap out with a dead ECS board, and used the disc to install the drivers. My question is, should I update the drivers from the msi site, and if so, which ones. I noticed there are about 7 different updates for various things on the board. I'm worried about driver updates crashing, and creating problems.

As the disc drivers are usually quite old try downloading from product site and install latest. just try all available for your OS

I have finally got everything working (more or less) properly by installing from the Installation CD.
Now i would like to update the drivers.
Please tell me whether I can simply install over the existing files, or do I need to uninstall everything again, before updating to the latest drivers available on the Creative website?

Extracting nvidia drivers from 10.4.2

Does anyone know how to extract the nvidia driver from 10.4.2 for use in 10.4.5?
Crash report refers to a com.apple.GeForce but I can't find anything on my system with that name. Hidden?

There's a few files that appear to be part of the video driver. They are: GeForce, NVDANV40Hal, and NVDAResman. They all have the same version and modified date and time. Below is what System Profiler reports for each of them (they're listed under Software->Extensions):

Obviously, if you choose to try and replace them with earlier versions, make a bootable backup/clone of your startup disk before the replacement. Replacing these files may cause more problems than it will solve. I hope it helps, though.

How to extract individual projects from an Aperture 3 vault file in Finder?

I want to extract a single (or multiple) projects from a vault on an external HD. My main library resides on my imac and sometimes I want to take my Macbook and the external HD with the vault and just work in on a single project. I have gone into package contents in Finder but I'm not sure how to get a project with all the folders/albums out of it as everything is broken up into "masters" "previews" etc. Is there an easy way? Also is the process of doing this any faster than just exporting the project to a new library on my imac and then copying that to the external drive?

I would personally avoid playing with the vault as it is a vault. I'd instead export the relevant projects to your external then import them into a unique library on your mac book. When you're done you would then reverse the procedure and backup to your vault.

How to extract individual files from a time machine back up'

Hi! I have a problem... So two months ago my mac's internal hard disk had a problem, as the folks at genius bar would say, it was "ejecting" itself by itself. It was frozen. Problem: I was gonna do a backup the day it happened, so I didn't have a back up. I went to a centre of data recuperation. They managed to get a lot out of the internal hard disk and put it in a new external hard drive. Apple then replaced my SSD, and I restored (from the external hard drive) what had been recuperated back on my computer with a new SSD. Now I realise that a lot of things are missing - especially pictures- which is quite annoying. I do have a very old back up that I did with Time Machine on another external hard drive. My question is: how can I restore only the pictures from that back up? I can't go back on time machine because this is a new SSD, and I don't wanna restore everything from that back up as I have more data on my computer as it is now... Help?

go into the backups.backupsdb of the old time machine and find your picture folder wherever you saved them and drag the files over to your Mac.
then, NEVER again only have ONE backup of your data, always 2 minimum.

Can you update Video Drivers from Nvidia?

I have an iMac 27-inch, late 2012 model with a built in Nvidia GTX - 660M 512 MB video card. Is it possible to use the Nvidia driver update for this build in card or should I only use Apple's video driver update? I'm sure there have been updates from Nvidia, but I haven't had a Apple update for at lease six months. I'm not having any problems, but like to keep current on drivers.

In OS X, Apple provides GPU driver updates with every OS X update, so you don't have to worry about the driver. If you have Windows installed with Boot Camp, then you can install the most recent NVIDIA driver from the NVIDIA site > http://www.nvidia.com
Note that GPU drivers don't come as individual drivers, but they come with OS X updates. For example, updates like 10.8.5 or Mavericks may come with updated drivers

When you connect the printer and if the message continues to say "Waiting for Connection", please try the below step..
Go to Device Manager, ( to do so , Right click on Computer icon, Select Manage, from the left pance m click on Device Manager , which would display the Device Manager on right pane.)
There should be Yellow bang entries ( Yellow ! mark ) with printer name on it.
Right Click on each of them and select Update Driver.
Select "Browse my Computer for driver software "
Click on Browse button to point to the CD ( if you are using the CD to run the installation ) else copy the path where the drivers have been extracted if you had downloaded it. Usually it will be in folder with name starting 7z... under TEMP folder .
Then Click Next button .

Perhaps I owe you an apology. Having re-read that downloading from HP was unsuccessful I feel uncomfortable. Can I suggest you update your 10.6 system (as noted in your profile) to 10.6.8 (if it is not already there) by using the
Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1 combo update plus any software updates that then apply.

Battlefield 3 nags you about having 11.1 and needing to update.
However this game proceeds to load using these drivers (11.1 )
I recently bought NFS THE RUN.

You are doing all that you cn do right now other than to update the apps in iTunes on your computer and sync them to the iPad.
There has been a problem with the App Store updates tab for a few days now and we are all waiting for Apple to fix it.
Look at all of the discussions on the iPad forum that are talking about this right now.

i downloaded the latest drivers from msi's website, driver version 2.29, unzipped it and updated my drivers. the readme file says video driver = 29.20, but when i checked it under desktop properties/settings/advanced/geforce2integrated...its still 2832, is this right?
