Extracting object

What is the best or easiest way to extract an object from a photo, so that is the only thing you see when you save it? No background. I have Elements 6 and cs4, can't seem to do with either. Thanks for any help. I want to remove just the can with the dogs on it. I can select the can, but I can't save it by itsself

Thanks so much for all your help, I appreciate it very much. Just got cs4 and am trying to learn. Thanks again

Subject: Extracting object
Well, if you have saved your tin with the “visible chequerboard background” as a PSD..etc.
then you have saved this image with an “alpha-channel” - transparent background...
If you open this image again in Photoshop, then you will see the chequerboard...
If you open this image again with any other image displaying application,
the background might appear white, grey or else, but it is still transparent...
Place a few of those alpha-channel-images into one photoshop file and you’ll see they have all an transparent background...
Here are a few links, they might make this issue a little clearer:

Otherwise, type “alpha channels” into the Photoshop Help Menu...

  • Extraction Object for Article Master

    Hi,
    Can anybody tell me if there are any standard Extraction Object name available for Article Master Data?
    or Should I need to create it?
    Pls provide the links related to this...
    Cheers,
    Yash K

    Hi,
    As per my understanding you need to use the same MDM_CLNT_EXTR because in this we have to pass the Extraction Object and there you can select the desired object to be extracted whether it is material, article etc.

  • Unable to select and extract object...

    I am currently attempting to edit a recently converted raster to vector image. I have the file opened and selected after having used the "live trace" function to revise it and save as a vector image. Now I would like to select and extract a portion of the image to work with but I am neither able to select and extract the object of focus from within the general picture. When I attempt to use the pointer selection tool to select the object of focus, the entire image becomes selected with a blue border. If I try to use the magic wand nothing happens. If I try to use the lasso tool I can draw around the object of focus but when I close the lasso it simply disappears leaving nothing selected. I've even tried to "ungroup" the image but option is grayed out (unavailable). Any insights into what I am doing incorrectly? By the way, the live trace function becomes active whenever I click anywhere within the general image.

    RUConscious,
    Expanding the Live Trace should make it accessible and editable just like any other vector artwork where you may Direct Select individual/multiple Anchor Points, Select paths, etc.
    Maybe a closeup of the issue area, with a hint at what exactly you wish to do, would help the helpers, preferably including the relevant part of the Layers panel (which may be moved).
    Apart from that, others may tell you that I am too old, or silly, to apply Live Trace.

  • Extracting object usage from SELECT

    I thought I had a great idea by using "explain plan" to extract the different objects (tables, views, synonyms, stored procedures etc.) that a given SELECT statement is using. However, after some fidling around I've realized that "explain plan" doesn't deal with stored procedures at all.
    Is there a way I can call a parser or something on the RDBMS side to get a list of involved objects? I don't need it nested - ie. I don't need to know that a stored procedure I'm calling calls another stored procedure etc; but I do need to know what tables, views, procedures are used in the SQL.
    Is there a parser available that will allow me to extract this "metadata" ? I need to pass in a "dynamic" SQL - meaning not an existing Oracle object.
    Does anyone have an idea on solving this?

    If the statement is an object in the DB, then you're right on target. But it's not. It's SELECTs from client programs, like Java etc. I'm trying to document. I have the SQLs extracted, but I would like to document the object usage/dependences on external modules.
    I may have to convert the statement into a stored procedure, check the dependencies and then drop the temporary object again. I was trying to avoid DDL though.

  • Error in Extraction - object request is currently locked by BWREMOTE

    Hi All,
    I am facing an error when extracting the data from R/3.
    Error message: Object requested is currently locked by BWREMOTE
    Message no. MC601
    Diagnosis
    A lock requested by calling an ENQUEUE function module cannot be set up because another SAP transaction is using the lock in question.
    Technical Information: The C_ENQUEUE routine returned the following values:
    COLLISION_OBJECT =  ERSENQUEUE
    COLLISION_UNAME = BWREMOTE
    Has any body come across with this error? If so could you please let me know how to resolve this error.
    Thanks beforehand,
    Praveen

    Hi Praveen,
    To make it easier to find what is causing this locking problem, it would be very helpful to enhance the short text of message MC 601 temporally. This should return the object which has caused the locking problem.
    Go to SM30 input table T100 -> message class MC -> message# 601
    Replace: Object requested is currently locked by user &
       with: Object &2 requested is currently locked by user &1
    Please also see SAP Note 673940 which addresses MC601.

  • Extracting object from a picture and erase the background

    Whats the best tool or way to extract an object, or person from a picture and earse the backgroung. Then puting it into illustrator? How do i save it to where theirs no background and only the picture that i selected?

    There is no "best tool". It depends entirely on the image and the talent of the person using the tool (or more likely technique).
    But you may wish to spend some time studying the Pen tool.
    Also, knowing your version of Photoshop would also help those who wish to help you.
    You topic title would also make a great Google search. :)

  • Insert an extracted object on power point.

    I extracted an object from a picture using photoshop elements 5 and am trying to place it on a power point presentation. The problem I'm having is that when the object is inserted on the power point slide it is on a square of diagonal lines. I'm stuck so any help would be appreciated. Thx.

    I think you have save an alpha channel with it. In Elements, you can save an alpha channel selection by using the Selection<Save Selection. You just don't have the capability to view/work with the alpha channel  as there isn't a channel's pallette in Elements. You can, however, Save and Load them.
    Have a look at this tutorial.

  • I would like to clean up edges for an extracted object

    I am using PE 4.0, XP Pro, Dell, 1 gig of RAM and after using magic extraction tool or the magic selection tool I do not know how to take my image and make the edges very smooth and then how to add a shadow effect or a border effect to them.
    Thank you,

    Richard,
    There are several ways to clean up the edges of a selection.
    You can select a the Blur Tool and set a small brush and run around the edges of the cutout image. You can also try making the layer active, Cntrl+Click to select the edges and Selection Feather.
    There is a defringe tool in Elements 4, but I still have Elements 3 so I can not say how well it works.
    Also, Butch Davis has posted a tutorial that works well in defringing selections. I've posted a link below:

    Hope this helps.

  • Error trying to extract data via HFM objects

    I've written a program to extract selected data from HFM (version 11.1.1.3.500) using the API objects. The program (shown at the bottom of this post) is failing on the 2nd of the following 2 lines:
    oOption = oOptions.Item(HSV_DATAEXTRACT_OPT_SCENARIO_SUBSET)
    oOption.CurrentValue = lBudgetScenario
    where oOption is a data load/extract object previously initialized and lBudgetScenario is the long internal ID for our budget scenario.
    The error is usually "COM Exception was unhandled" with a result code of "0x800456c7", but, mysteriously, even with no code changes, it sometimes throws the error "FileNotFoundException was not handled", where it says that it could not load "interop.HSXServerlib or one of its dependencies". The second error occurs even though HSXServer was previously initialized in the program and used in conjunction with the login.
    I've carefully traced through the VB.NET 2010 code and find that all relevant objects are instantiated and variables correctly assigned. It also occurred to me that the data load DLLs might have been updated when the 11.1.1.3.50 and 500 patches were applied. For that reason, I removed the references to those DLLs, deleted the interop files in the debug and release folders and copied the server versions of those DLLs to my PC. I then restored the DLL references in Visual Studio which recreated the interops. However, the error still occurs.
    The ID I'm using (changed to generic names in the code below) has appropriate security and, for example, can be used to manually extract data for the same POV via the HFM client.
    I've removed irrelevant lines from the code and substituted a phony ID, password, server name and application name. The line with the error is preceded by the comment "THE LINE BELOW IS THE ONE THAT FAILS".
    Imports HSVCDATALOADLib.HSV_DATAEXTRACT_OPTION

    oOptions = oDataLoad.ExtractOptions

    lActualScenario = GetMemberID(DIMENSIONSCENARIO, "Actual")
    lBudgetScenario = GetMemberID(DIMENSIONSCENARIO, "Budget")
    'Construct file names for open data.
    strFileName = "c:\Temp\FEWND_BudgetData.dat"
    strLogFileName = "c:\Temp\FEWND_BudgetData.log"
    'Extract data for the current open cycle.
    ExtractData("Budget", BudgetYear, "Dec", strFileName, strLogFileName)
    End Sub
    Sub ExtractData(ByVal strScenario As String, ByVal strYear As String, ByVal strPeriod As String, _
    ByVal strFileName As String, ByVal strLogFileName As String)
    'Populate the Scenario element.
    oOption = oOptions.Item(HSV_DATAEXTRACT_OPT_SCENARIO_SUBSET)
    If strScenario = "Actual" Then
    oOption.CurrentValue = lActualScenario
    Else
    'THE LINE BELOW IS THE ONE THAT FAILS
    oOption.CurrentValue = lBudgetScenario
    End If
    End Sub
    Function GetMemberID(ByVal lDimID As Long, ByVal strMemLabel As String) As Long
    Dim oMetaData As HSVMETADATALib.HsvMetadata
    oMetaData = oSession.Metadata
    oEntityTreeInfo = oMetaData.Dimension(lDimID)
    GetMemberID = oEntityTreeInfo.GetItemID(strMemLabel)
    End Function
    End Module

    I stumbled upon the solution to my problem. The documentation for extracting data via objects defines member ID variables as Longs. In fact, I've always defined such variables as longs in previous object programs and had no problems. It appears that the datal load/extract "option" property of "Currentvalue" is defined as integer. When I changed all of my member ID items (such as the "lBudgetScenario" variable that was the right-side of the failing assignment statement) to be integers, the program worked.

    While I personally still don't have any need for Translucator
    (I must
    admit the name made me laugh badly) so I didn't test it, I
    think
    Background Remover is quite capable. I was unable to achive
    good results
    using it only on a couple of test images out of quite a large
    set, but I
    must admit I wasn't able to do any better with hand masking
    using brush,
    so I can't blame the plugin. Taking into account very basic
    bitmap masking
    capabilities of FW, I think it's a great addon, and
    considering the price
    for most competitors, it's clearly the best.
    That's the end of our scientists report ;-)

  • Extract Classification data from R/3 for XI

    Hi all
    I am currently interning with a corporation and am stuck at a crucial point.
    I tried using MATMAS/MATMAS05 and CLFMAS/CLFMAS02 for extracting the classification data from R/3 systems. i want to primarily generate valid iDoc's and transport them to XI later.
    However, everytime I run the extraction object MATERIAL_EXTRACT from mdm_clnt_extr, the iDoc's generated have no classification data...
    am stuck ppl...  my colleagues say i should try looking for a new extractor for CLFMAS specifically..
    Please help.

    HI,
    Guess I did not state the problem clear enough.
    The T-Table incorporates only the material number. I need to get different classification fields for all relevant materials.
    So I am looking for a way to extract the classification data associated with the material numbers in my Z-table.
    Anybody got an Idea?
    Thanks for your help,

  • Unable to extract Customer Master data from MDC

    Hello,
    We creating an MDM-XI-ERP2005 Customer scenario. We want to work with all bussiness scenarios (not customizing scenario).
    First I'm trying to extract Customer Master Data from EP 2005 using MDM_CLNT_EXTR.
    I have created a New Variant which properties are:
    Variant: CUSTOMER_TOTAL
    Description: Send all customer data to MDM
    Extraction Object: CUSTOMER_EXTRACT.
    Target System: PI7.
    But, the display jobs shows the following error: Could not determine recipients for message type MDMRECEIPT. Job cancelled after system exception.
    We need to focus the problem. We have done the following ALE configuration.
    SALE transaction:
    In Basic Settings -> Logical Systems -> Define Logical System we have add the following logical systems:
                  EUS100
                  MDM: Master Data Management
                  PI7: Process Integration 7.0
    WE21:
    Transactional RFC -> PI7, IDOC record types SAP Release 4.x
    RFC destination: SAPSLDAPI

    New Model -> PFMC
    Add message type: Model iview: PFMC
                                 Sender: EUS100
                                  Receiver: PI7
                                 Message Type: DEBMDM
    WE20 transaction shows:
    Partner profiles -> Partner Type LS (logical system)
                        PI7: Outbound parmtrs. DEBMDM, SYNCH.
    Any idea will be very helpful,
    Thanks in advance
    Marta.
    Edited by: Marta Sánchez on Jul 9, 2008 12:34 PM

    Sorry because I made a mistake in my previous message. ALE seems to be correctly configured. I'll try to update correctly my current situation:
    In WE02 I can see al IDOCs that I'm trying to send to XI. All them have the IDoc Status = 3 (Data Passed to Port OK) instead of 12 Status Dispatch OK :(. So, It seems an tRFC error.
    SM58 shows me more trails: "Basic type 'DEBMDM06' is unknown"
    before that I have done the following steps at SAP ERP:
        1. WE21: I have created a PI7 port with 700PI70CLNT RFC.
        2. SM59: I have checked successfully 700PI70CLNT RFC connection.
        3. WE20: I have created a PI7 Partner Type LS with the following inbound and outbound parameters: DEBMDM and MDMRECEIPT.
        4. BD64: I have created a Distribution Model with DEBMDM and MDMRECEIPT message types.
    and at SAP PI:
         5.IDX: Port: SAPEUS. Client: 111. RFC Destination: PI7.
         6. technical and business system for sender SAP system(System Landscape Directory)...
    - Maybe some of the previous steps is not correct....
    - Is RFC Destination = PI7 is correct in step #5?
    - Is also necessary to configure more steps in PI system like RFC destinations or Transactional port?
    - I have read that is neccessary to check that the option "transfer idoc immediately" in we20. How?
    Please any idea will be very helpful.......
    Thank you!
    Best regards,
    Marta.

  • After Extracting

    Hi all,
    I am so stuck and it will no doubt be something very simple, however my problem is: After extracting an image from it's original background, the background surrounding the image is now transparent I want to then move my extraction onto another page so I've already got that photo I want up and drag my extraction onto the page. Now this is the problem the extraction when dragged to the new photo is not with a transparent background it comes with the same as though it has never been extracted. I have tried saving the extraction first, closing it down and then re opening the new saved extraction then dragging that onto the photo still it shows up with a un-transparent background. I used to use photoshop elements 5 and I never had any such issues. Now I have purchased photoshop elements 6 and am stuck with this problem. I don't know what the heck is going on and why it won't let me place an extracted object into the new photo is it something to do with the new photo as in do I need to click on something to allow it to take extracted pictures? It's driving me insane so please if someone is around please help me sort this out, thanks in advance.
    Wiggywoggy

    OOppss sorry Yes I have the problem solved :) it was a matter of placing two photos side by side in the work edit space and that solved the problem doing it the other way like one used to be able to do in PSE 5 is not the same as in 6, thanks for all your suggestions :)

    I used the extract feature frequently with CS2. Then I upgraded to CS5,
