Extracting PIR (material prices) Data into BW

Hi Experts,
I am working on a BI Integrated Planning project. Product cost will be calculated in CO-PC. During cost roll-up system can pick material prices from any of 5 fields i.e. Standard price, Future Price and Planned price 1,2,3. I have a requirement to update the current material prices from purchase info records to one of the planned prices fields.
My initial solution was as follows:
1. To rely on the users to download the PIR or contract prices into Excel
2. Apply % uplift to the prices in Excel
3. Then use an ABAP to update the uplifted prices to the material master future or planned price fields.
However my client is not happy with this solution.
Another option I am looking at is:
1. Extract the prices from the PIR's into BW and then download to Excel s
2. Apply % uplift to the prices in Excel
3. Then use an ABAP to update uplifted prices to the material master future or planned price fields.
Is this feasible? If yes, how can I get the prices into BW.

What's the purpose of this data download?
Do you wish to transfer the data from SAP into the new ERP system? Or do you need the download as a backup?
Yes , Transfer the data from SAP to New ERP system, it is not for Backup.
IDOCS/ALE from SAP to New ERP?

I think Payroll results stored in cluster tables, so here we need Abaper to write program. For OM , PA and TM can we extract via Se16/ Se16n .

Copying the sales price data into Condition type

Dear SD Gurus,
Iam in a typical situation. my client is into Electrical Installation and services, so based on the tender documents, they quote the project.
they are doing costing (ie arriving at a supply rate) in quotation. To arrive at a supply rate, they are entering the cost price of the material ie (PR00) in the quotation and adding the profit (for eg : ZPRF condition type) for it. now my problem is i have to add these two condition types into one condition type to arrive at a selling price. how can i achieve this.
And also while creating the sales order with reference to quotation, these two condition types (ie cost price(PR00) and profit (ZPRF) should not get displayed in the sales order.
Is there any solution for this method.

First of all for project quotation the best practice documentation is available in SAP Discrete Manufacturing ,please go through it . that will help.
Secondly for getting costs in quotation level pricing u can use either of 2 conditions EK02 or VPRS that will give cost .
Add Profit condition to it .
U can use different pricing procedure for quotation and sales order and in copy controls give routine to redetermine manually.
Else if u r using the same pricing procedure ,take help of Abap developer for changing table controls in program.
Check whether u can use Transaction SHD0.

Any data source to extract material price or Standard cost history

Hi All,
Currently we are using data source 0CO_PC_ACT_05 for material price extraction.
But it seems this will only extract current period, previous period and previous year last period.
But my requirement is to extract the material price history for any old periods.
Do we have any table from where we can extract this details? or any standard data source through which we can extract this details?

There are different ways of doing this. One way is down load third party data into Flat file and then upload into BW using flat file extraction.

Material Master Data upload approach

Hi,
I have a requirement to upload material master data into D.B
1. Which is the best option to use - BDC/LSMW/BAPI(Program)/Direct upload program!
2. Based on Material types fields to be uploaded will change as per sample sheet,
Can we make use of single sheet With all fields in it(By removing common fields for all Mat.Types)!
Will BAPI - BAPI_MATERIAL_SAVEDATA useful for both MM01/MM02!
What is the better approach for the same!

I have 2 queations in addition to above.
1. If i write a program using above BAPI for material master data. Then will it be better approach than LSMW with BAPI?
In this case user will trigger Z tcode & he will select input file from desktop & execute & report log will be shown in the output with successful & unsuccessful materials.
2. I have to upload material master data. Now i have got sample files for Basic, Plant & Sales organization specific.
If i have single excel file (All fields in one single sheet/line) which covers all unique fields of material master related to diff Basic, Plant & Sales organization specific data & also for all diffrent material types will that be fine (or) it usually required seperate excel sheets for diffrent kinds of data!
Please clarify about above 2 issues!

How do I extract the material class data so that I can load them with LSMW IDOC CLFMAS after the materials are loaded?

Hi,
You have 2 possibilities.
1. If it is 1:1 transfer for source SAP system to target SAP sytem ( without data modification ) you to establish the ALE interface and distriute by using the prg: RBDSECLF
2. If it is a transfer of CLF data between 2 SAP systems where you need to modify the data based on some rules after you extract the data from the source system, you could extrace the data from Legacy by BAPI: BAPI_OBJCL_GETDETAIL. Once you extract the data, you could process as per the reqmt, & load the data by LSMW either by DI or by IDoc method.

Material Prices extraction problem

Hi Experts,
I need to extract the data of the material prices not only the present and previous but all the history data of the Material Prices, so i used the datasource 0CO_PC_ACT_05. The Problem is that when i check the PSA table i see only the last 2 months records i.e(Fiscal Year 11.2007 and 12.2007) and the no of records i am getting is nearly 2 lakhs. Then i checked the datasource 0CO_PC_ACT_05 in the R/3 system with RSA3 and got the same values. But i think this datasource 0CO_PC_ACT_05 extracts the data from the table MBEWH or MBEW and these tables have nearly 35 lakhs records. So Please can anyone help me to extract the all history data of the material prices, am i using the wrong datasource? Is there any problem with the extractor if so how can i solve it? There is no restriction in extracting the data.
Please help me to solve this problem its very urgent.

This is the process:
1.      Go to transaction code RSA3 and see if any data is available related
to your DataSource. If data is there in RSA3 then go to transaction code
LBWG (Delete Setup data) and delete the data by entering the application
name.
2.      Go to transaction SBIW --> Settings for Application Specific
Datasource --> Logistics --> Managing extract structures --> Initialization
--> Filling the Setup table --> Application specific setup of statistical
data --> perform setup (relevant application)
3.      In OLI*** (for example OLI7BW for Statistical setup for old
documents : Orders) give the name of the run and execute. Now all the
available records from R/3 will be loaded to setup tables.
4.      Go to transaction RSA3 and check the data.
5.      Go to transaction LBWE and make sure the update mode for the
corresponding DataSource is serialized V3 update.
6.      Go to BW system and create infopackage and under the update tab
select the initialize delta process. And schedule the package. Now all the
data available in the setup tables are now loaded into the data target.
7.      Now for the delta records go to LBWE in R/3 and change the update
mode for the corresponding DataSource to Direct/Queue delta. By doing this
record will bypass SM13 and directly go to RSA7. Go to transaction code RSA7
there you can see green light # Once the new records are added immediately
you can see the record in RSA7.
8.      Go to BW system and create a new infopackage for delta loads. Double
click on new infopackage. Under update tab you can see the delta update
radio button.
9.      Now you can go to your data target and see the delta record.
Assign points if useful.

Material Classification Data extraction fron ECC

Hello Experts,
We are trying to extract material classification data from ECC 6.0 to MDM 7.1 using mdmgx T-Code. We are using the standard SAP list of tables which is uploaded in MDMGX. On performing 'Start Extraction' it gives us the following errors:
Class and characteristics info returned is blank
Blank XML returned for port LT_ClassAttributes
Class and characteristics info returned is blank
Blank XML returned for port LT_Classes

I think rather than class type there should be Class Name e.g.

</ClassHierarchies>
-<ClassHierarchies>
<Class>Zparent</Class>
<ParentClass />
<Name_English>ZPARENT</Name_English>
</ClassHierarchies>
One of the <ClassHierarchies> should not have ParentClass because there must be one class which is parent of all classes e.g. here ZPARENT
You should check that may be 001 is here also defined as class-name not class type. I would also say check do you have other ParentClass as Class name or not, except 001. Try to import this data in the manner as shown in MDM import Manager Reference Guide page 162 onwards using Create Hierarchy, after import check with business/functional consultant. Please have a look into it,

Can not extract data into BW from SQL SERVER

Dear All,
I meet a problem to extract data from database(MS SQL Server 2000(sp3)) into BW now and can not extract data into BW ODS, even PSA, In the monitor, display yellow light(0 from 0 record), detail message just display message "data request arranged" "confirmed with: confirmation" in requests(message) step; "missing message: request received" in extract (message) step; "no data" in processing(data packet) step and so on. but in fact, there are two records in my database test table and DB connection is OK. Even I can extract data from another test oracle database into BW ODS successfully.
Our BW system has two BW applicaton server and use oracle database. the one application server locates on IBM AIX host. the another one locates on one NT server. the application server on NT server is used for data extration from MS SQL SERVER database into BW oracle database. and MS SQL SERVER and NT platform application server locate on same one host. DBSL was installed on the NT application server already. and DB connector also was created successfully for MS SQL SERVER and datasource also was generated. DBSL type is Kernel640-WIN-IA32bit-unicode. my BW system is ECC5.0/UNICODE/ORACLE. all table/view/field name of MS SQL server is upcase and have not any specific character. for example: ZDEMO etc.

Hi,
Try T.Code: MC.9 and MC.5 etc. These reports will give you total value of the stock but not unit price.
If you are looking at unit price please write a small query using SQVI or append the relevant info structure.
