Extracting SAP Workflow Reports in BW

Hi Experts,
How to extract an sap workflow reports in BW.
My Scenario is : I have a task in WF. i want to extract the status of the task(by giving from date - To date or by giving user name) as a report in BW.
Can anyone help me or provide me some inputs to solve this problem.
One more thing. I am completely new to BW.

How to Extract data and reports from the SAP BW warehouse

Hi to All Guru's
I am new to SAP BW. Can any one help me to know, How to Extract data and reports from SAP BW. Do we use any tools. After Extracting the data from SAP BW how can we move all the data to Cognos. It would be kind enough to provide me with any documentation or links. Step by step procedure would be very much helpfull to me.

Is SAP BI reporting is possible in ECC 6.0 with same client

Hi all,
                         My requirement is, we need to design SAP BI data flow in ECC 6.0 with same client only. Now I am designing the BI data models as per the requirement of SD sales reports in ECC 6.0.For this, when i was extracting the data from SD datasource(2lis_11_vahdr) in RSA3 its showing 0 records,actually as per VA01 some records are available but its not showing in the RSA3.
                          My doubt is , is it possible to extract the data from ECC 6.0 and load the data to the datatargets and get the SAP BI reports in ECC6.0 with the same client.
                          Please suggest as soon as possible.

It is possible to load the data from the same client. It all depends on the source system and the client which has been connected in the RFC connection.

SAP Workflow: how to integrate html forms

Hello.
I have to built up a workflow, which starts with an ABAP report. This ABAP Report selects a number of persons and then an email is sent to these persons. A hyperlink should be in this email and the person should click at the hyperlink, which opens an html-form. In this html-form some data is filled in and then is sent to our SAP HR system where we start again an apab report.
My questions:
1) is this a typical process for SAP Workflow?
2) What pre-conditions regarding our SAP HR system do we have (do we need ITS)? Where can I find an example for such a workflow with html-form?
3) Is this state of the art? Please tell me some SAP keywords that I can continue my investigation.

SAP workflow not published / not reaching default outbound handler

Hi,
At Velocity event (october) we had a SAP ERP workflow configured for publishing to SharePoint; after triggering workflow instances, an XML payload document was successfully published to SharePoint.
Now, in the same environment; without changes on Duet Enterprise config level, publishing of task changes of that same workflow no longer publishes into SharePoint.
We executed the report jobs OSP_DELTA and OSP_FULL to make sure that the sync from SAP to SharePoint would be done / task changes are notified. The SAP workflows are delivered into the SAP inbox; but not published to SharePoint.
We added a breakpoint (internal + external) in the default outbound handler S_OSP_WF_PAT_DEFAULT_CH_OB; it is not invoked when we reach the workflow decision step that is published.
We inspected the SCL Logs, but didn't find any relevant log entries.
Any clue what can be wrong here; where to start with the problem analysis?

The error 'Users not maintained...' appears to be caused due lack of SAP permissions of the SAP account that is executing the report S_OSP_WF_ITEM_SELECTION; with another account we succesfully pass the 'GetNotifications' calls within that report; and actually now do get into the default outbound handler.
But still no task document published into SharePoint; the default outboundhandler faults on Send Action item; error details:

We want to check the settings of Consumer Proxy for Workflow (page 76 in deployment guide); however we don't see 'Connection Settings' entry in the SCL server.

Control Workflow Report output using Structural Authorization

Is it possible to control output of Workflow Reports using Structural Authorizatins. E.g. Workflow Admins having access to tcode SWi2_FREQ will be able to see project wide data, but i want to restrict the workflow admins at department level from seeing workflow data for other departments. is that possible using Structural authorizations or any other mechanism?
My understanding is that Structural authorizations pretty much control PA/PD, and not other modules. I did a quick test,
1) Created a org structure
2) Created employees, users, and set up structural authorizations
Now when users are granted authorization to PA20, they are restricted to what they should be seeing, but when they are granted authorization for workflow admin reports, structural authorization don't seem to work, they are able to see data for workflow triggered for other departments as well. Is that the standard behavior or i am missing something. I don't have enough experience with Structural auth.
I will appreciate any guidance on this matter.

Arghadip, please explain how this will prevent someone from Norway from looking at the workflow log of a workflow for an employee belonging to the Danish part of the organisation.

To explain a bit more in detail: how does this prevent me (Norwegian) from going into SWI1, SWIA or any other transaction, and looking at data from other parts of the organisation. I don't think it will work.
I think the only way to achieve this is to either modify SAP's standard code and include some structural authorisation checks - or take the standard transactions out from every user role and create your own wrappers or program copies which basically does the same as the modification would have to do.

Workflow report requirement

Dear Experts
I have one problem in ESS.Actually my client wants a report related to the leaves applied through ESS. In that report they want the leave request date, start date and end date of the leaves applied and the type of the leave, with the employee name and number who initiates the workflow. Is their any standard report from which we can take the data?
In which standard table all these entries stored?

To start, you have a fair bit of work ahead of you. The Crystal reports SDK will not do the job. You will have to use the InProc RAS SDK which is included in both CR XI and CR 2008. I'd recommend going with CR 2008 as CR XI R1 (11.0) is out of support now and CR XI R2 (11.5) will be out of support come June of 2011. Next, make sure you have applied SP 3 for CR 2008:

Hi,
I found the purpose.
If work items have the status ERROR for a long time, they are restarted automatically. This task is performed by a report that is controlled by a background job. You can change the period duration of the background job, schedule, delete, or display the background job. You can also start the report manually using Execute work item error monitoring.

Excel Download of a Web SAP BW Report asks userid and password.please help

Dear BW folks,
Issue: When I run a specific SAP BW Report from Web and download the same into excel & csv.
When I open the excel file downloaded, it asks me user name and password to enter. csv file downloaded doesn't ask.
The report has 0cust_sales hierarchy and SBU hierarchy.
Is there any thing to do with these hierarchies that the excel download is asking user name and password?
Please help me out!!!!! This report needs to be downloaded into excel sent to my manager.....

SAP BI reports on mobile devices

Hi experts
We need have some business intelligence (SAP BI) reports and metrics on our mobile devices (BlackBerry, Iphone, Ipad). For example: The mobile'users should enter a product ID and the report show the metrics relate with it availables in SAP BI.
We have BusinessObject products and we know about BOBJ tools to design our solution to mobile devices.
Can we use BO Mobile and BO Explorer simultaneously to show the reports on Blackberry and Mac Devices?
With BOBJ tools can we do a interactive report (to enter product key) ?

Hi Osmy,
With the latest BI4.0, you will be able to use BI Reports on Blackberry (and nokia) devices (this was also available in XI3.x releases) . There is no iphone support yet - which maybe coming shortly in later releases.
As for Explorer, i* apps are already available - but not for blackberry as far as i know
You may already be able to run interactive (prompted) reports on blackberry. Below is a link on design best practices for reports on mobile

SAP QUERY report for vendor line items

I have created a SAP QUERY report for vendor line items with fields vendor no.,vendor name,amount,company code and period.But there is one line item i donot know from wher system is getting it picked with is not in that vedor account,when i compare with fbl1n.I checked the document number too...the same doc number is twice in my query report.One with correct amount and another with wrong one.How do i chk.Where did i go wrong in creating query.I used logical database KDF.
