Extracting single shot from project library

I have just converted a vhs vid. tape onto a dvd using imovie and idvd, all successfully but I wanted to extract a single shot from the project to use for an outside application. I have got as far as extracting the shot and it is now in the project library as an additional frame but I cant figure how to transfer it to another application so that I can use it for other purposes, any help please ?

Colin

for iM11 advice is a lot more complicated, because Apple switched some internal stuff from 09>>11.
you need a (free) 3rd party tool, Mpeg Streamclip
• ctrl-click on the clip, which contains the future freeze
• choose Reveal in Finder
• open that clip with your new tool Mpeg Streamclip
• select your frame, you need solo
• choose 'Export Frame' ...

In a Windows, it is so simple. Winzip, winrar automaticaly discovering that are the parts of a single file and give me that.
My question is simple: How to extract single file from a multipart zip/rar archives ?

First Get Struture name for Transaction CJ40
Goto SE11, and enter your structure name.eg. RKPLN
Goto the field that holds your data (e.g.WKGXXX), and double-click on the element name. Once inside the element, do a where-used list for that element, searching tables only.
Then go into each table, and see if you can find the one holding your data.

  • Restore single image from managed library

How does one restore a single image from a library, either managed or referenced. It seems that in Time Machine one does not have access to the individual files in a managed library as one does from the Finder.
Is my conclusion then, that in order to be able to recover individual file(s) one should use a referenced library?

The Aperture Restore from Vault as you know saves your current library and restores all managed photos from the Vault. Note, previews are not stored on the Vault so they need to be regenerated (at least that was true in Aperture 2 but I have not done a restore in Aperture 3).
Referenced images are not stored on the Aperture Library or Aperture Vault, just the adjustments you make to the image. So if your image is mangled, but you know the external referenced image displays fine, say, in Preview, then something may have gone wrong with the adjustments or raw conversion etc. You can remove all adjustments on the mangled image and see if that corrects the display problem.
If the external image itself is corrupted, then Time Machine will restore it hopefully to a prior 'good' version as you know. The contents of an Aperture Library can be individually referenced via the Finder but it's not something where you can replace any of the contents as I understand that will damage your library integrity.

  • Moving and burning from Project Library to a dvd

I moved a file in Project Library to a blank dvd and then burned it. It replayed satisfactorily once and the second try gave a message: "A necessary data reference could not be resolved." What's going on with this? MAC OSX 10.6 and iMOVIE 09.

Duh.  Thank you kindly Neil.  I sometimes forget about the old 'right click - reveal in finder'.  So strange.  I've used it a thousand times this year in FCP (a particularly complicated film built from countless stills).  Never ever entered my brain to use it with Soundtrack Pro.  Ever.  And I must have exported soundFX out of STP hundreds of times over the last couple of years ... never thinking to ask the right question.
    Very much appreciated N.,

  • Project will not open for Editing from Project Library

Help! I'm a teacher who puts together a 5 minute news show each week. I was almost done last night when imovie crashed. I tried to get into the project library and can see my project with everything done but the titles and sound. I select it and hit the edit button and nothing happens. I double click and nothing happens. In the project file, the project has a turned down right corner. Save me ! This is due first thing in the morning and I still have all the tweaking to do to the sound and titles.
    Thanks!

Open the file with Preview and do a Save As. Either change the format or keep the tiff. That should fix the files so they can be viewed normally in iPhoto. If the problem is due to an alpha channel in the file this will fix the problem.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • Single Images from iPhoto library placed in iMovie - what do I do next?

    Hi there,
I recently purchased/upgraded to iLife 08 from iLife 06 as it is the one that is compatible with my iMac G5 and was experimenting in iMovie 08. I placed some images into the top left pane from my photo library and then I added some music from iTunes library and hit the play button and was amazed at the quality of the playback. Other than delete this is there any way I can save it so I could put it on a DVD later or even burn it now. Where would it be located at if I wanted to find it later on? Can I burn it from where it is?
Sorry for what might seem stupid questions but I know little if anything about iMovie.
Would appreciate any help you may kindly give me.
    Thanks.
    Ian

    Click SHARE/MEDIA BROWSER or SHARE/iTunes.
Then you can watch in iTunes, or create a DVD from iDVD. (In iDVD, open the Media Browser at the bottom right and drag it in.)
Keep in mind that DVDs are a standard definition (640x480) format, so the photos will not look as good as they do on your computer screen.

  • Extract single channel from DAQmx Task

    Hello,
I have created a DAQmx output task, which contains two channels.  Is it possible to extract individual virtual channels from the task to be processed by two parallel processes?  I have tried bringing out the Channels Property using a Task Property Node, but I then get the error that the channel is not part of an active task (see attached snippet)
Could anyone advise on a better approach, or how to acheive this functionality - if it is possible?

Sorry, that VI does not make much sense. You have to use a single DAQmx Write for both channels and for 1 Sample mode, you simply have to build an array of the signals as shown below.

  • IMovie: viewer isn't showing video from project library

My viewer was working fine until I imported a project created on another MacBook. After it was imported, the viewer stopped showing video from the prject library. Audio works fine.

ANSWER: I removed all the imported files completely from my computer. Viewer is working again. Not sure what was wrong with the files - some of them were from a digital camera (Sony Cybershot) and converted to MOV. I'm thinking iMovie no likey?

  • Copied project missing from Project Library

Copied a project from one desktop to an external hard drive than to a different iMac. Can see the project file in the Movies folder, but can't get iMovie to open it. Thoughts?

You can't copy the project from the Finder of OS X, you have to do any moving and copying from within iMovie.
Also you can Consolidate which combines the Project and the associated clips from your Events folders.
The Project itself doesn't contain the actual video but rather references to the clips and clip segments you used from your events.
In iMovie go to Help, type Copy Project in the search and select the first entry. It explains.
Also you should search Consolidate and have a look at that.

  • How do you remove files from a library?

Is there any way to extract individual files from a library?  I downloaded a driver from an equipment manufacturer but the files are all bundled into a library.  The VIs were created with an older version of LabView and I do not need all of them.  I have updated the files I need and now I want to put them together with some other files in a project and create an executable.  Is it worth bothering with or should I just put the whole library in the project?
    Thanks.

Easy way: Convert the .llb to a directory. Then you can simply move the files. Use the LLB Manager (Tools -> LLB Manager).
Hard way: Open each VI and then do a File->Save As.

  • Moving a project from one library to another

I created a new library for my 2013 photos and imported some photos from my camera. In my previous library (last year's photos), is a project for January 2013 PhotoStream pictures, and I'd like that in my new 2013 library. How can I do this? I have the most current version of Aperture.

The size of the library is not critical for the overall performance. You may notice a little reduce in speed, if the projects are gigantic. I would not put thousands of images into one single project.
But it is more important to keep plenty of free disk space on your system drive, and to have the Aperture library on a fast drive with a fast connection. Also fix your Aperture library by repairing it, if you had a crash or you force quit Aperture.
If Aperture is slow, try to find out, what it is doing by looking at the Activity window (Window > Show Activity). There you can see, if Aperture is processing previews, scanning for faces, etc. Sometimes Aperture is processing the same image over and over again. If you see this happen, remove the the image from the library. Probably it is corrupted.

  • Copying a single file from one project to another????

    Hello,
New to Mac from a PC, tried search with no results. I have a single image I would like to display in 2 separate projects in Aperture. (As I will be writing to a disc and print later). How do I copy the image from Project A to Project B, making is available to both??? Thanks in advance!

There are two different ways to do this.
The first way is literally exactly what you are asking for but may not be what you really want. You can copy the image (and corresponding master) by holding down the option key while dragging the image from one project to the other - make sure the drop target is the actual little yellow project box and not something inside the project box. When you do this there will be two completely separate copies that have nothing to do with each other. If you make an adjustment to one the other will not change, if you delete one master the other will still be there.
The second way may be what you actually want - if you create any type of album within or even outside of a project you can drag any images from any project into it - no copies are made but the image will "show up" in that album no matter what project it happens to live in. This is usually a better way to group images together from multiple projects no matter what the purpose.
