Hi
What extraction method should be used to extract data from HR module.
Is there any site which can guide us to start a project from scratch.
For eg want to start with pulling up HR data and create reports. So how do i start with it.

I am facing a problem with jump query.
When i open a BW report in portal, and when i try to jump to the detail of a record to source system, it is asking me the login detail for source system. where as it should not aks for the login deatils at protal site.

How to find the extraction method of a datasource?

Hi,
On a review of some documents on SDN, regarding how to track where data is coming from to BW, there was this helpful quote.
Just knowing what is the extraction method of a datasource and our search of the origins achieves a vast improvement!
So, through se11, ROOSOURCE gave some details including the include ROEXTRACT.
from here, I am getting stuck, se16 and se11 are not helping.
How do I move from the information on this screen to see, for example, the extraction method for a datasource 2LIS_11_VAITM

I followed the instruction i.e. in ROOSURCE then Contents...
but when I enter the datasource 2LIS_11_VAITM in hoipes to see the corresponding Delta Process for this datasource, I get a message
"... No table entries found for specified key"
what does this mean, knowing that thie datasource exists.

Dear Lokesh and all other of the community,
I have now my solution for delta extraction of a generic data source. FM RSAX_BIW_GET_DATA_SIMPLE and as well RSAX_BIW_GET_DATA is not working for me, as they are not including delta function. My solution is based on FM RSVD_BW_GET_DELTA_DATA. Here are the steps:
1) Copy RSVD_BW_GET_DELTA_DATA and change to your purpose the ranges, the extract strukture, the z-extract-table (including field TSTMP) and the z-extract-view (not including field TSTMP).
2) Create a new generic datasource with RSO2. Choose extraction via FM and enter FM ZRSVD_BW_GET_DELTA_DATA and z-extract-table.
3) Change in table ROOSOURCE the EXMETHOD from F2 to F1, DELTA the from AIM to CUBE and the EXTRACTOR to the z-extract-view.
NOTE: You will now get the error message "Table is not existing" RJ403 in Transaction RSO2. - this has no effect. Use transaction RSA2 to check your settings.
This solution is working to:
first: do the initial load of all data -> after this the delta queue is created in RSA7
second: do the delta load of all new data -> based on the timestamp, means all data with timestamp after the last load, also changed and new data -> you see the last timestamp of delta transfer in tabel ROBWQTSTAT

I'm new to BI
Can anyone please explain me the different datasource extraction methods ( like F1, F2... ) and tell me its significance.
I read some threads which tells the difference about the simple and complete interface.
I'm not getting a clear picture on it.

Extract method tool deletes my comments

I have Jdeveloper 9.0.3, now I'm trying to use the extract method tool and works fine but some of the code that I shade to use with the tool contains several comments, and when the tool finish the execution my comments was deleted, Why? any ideas?, maybe some configuration???

Extract Method KILLS comments!

The built-in refactoring tool "Extract Method" kills the comments of the extracted code.
It kills "//" as well as "/*" type comments.
What a nasty bug!
The JDev version is 9.0.3.1035 (the production release).

DataSource with Extraction Method F1

Hi Lutz,
You can create it from RSO2 -> transactional datasource> Here you need to give the Extract structure and name of the Function module...
Before above process you need to Build up a structure (It contains all the fields of your extraction called as extract structue),Byusing this structure in Function module you can code(Use template RSAX_BIW_GET_DATA_SIMPLE)....
Don't forget to assign points,If it is useful..

Extraction method for purchasing info

as you can see the document says you can choose one of two methods of extraction. Could you tel me the more important differences between them?. Why Purchasing Groups (2LIS_02_S011) isn't included in LBWE? Which one do you recomend?

Doesn't "Purchasing BI Content" take into account any info on Purchasing Requisition? The user needs to analyze times between the creation of Purchasing Requisition and the creation of the related Purchase Order... Am I clear?
We've seen that all queries, cube's and ods's are meaningful once the Purchase Order have been created, are we right?.

Hi all!
I need some help about using Purchasing BI Content. I'm prety new in SAP and I'm a bit confused. If you look the help info you'll see that cube 0pur_c01 can be conected to source system using one of two methods.
The first one, the old one, uses 2LIS_02_S012 extractor wich fills every InfoObject on target. The new one uses 2LIS_02_ITM and 2LIS_02_SCL directly to the cube. The thing is that in the InfoCube are some InfoObjects wich I cant find neither in 2LIS_02_ITM nor in 2LIS_02_SCL. And if I take a look in some demo systems I find that InfoCube conected to the three extractors... Am I clear?
Can you give some tips about using this BI model please?
I'm not so sure about the way it works when there are two datasources going directly to the same Cube...

Extraction method and mapping

Hi experts
I am new to SEM module.
Data from different tables are consolidated in GLT 3 table, from that table data will be extract to BW.
What are the methods i can choose to extract the data, General Extraction or FI-SL?
Where the mapping will be take place in R/3 side or BW side? If it is BW side how and where can I map?

This is a BW topic:
You have to create a generic datasource based on your table in R/3 with trans.code RSO2. You should replicate this new datasource in Bw ( with replicate datasource function) After this you should create a infosource (extractor) in Bw with relevant infobject to map your generic datasource.
After this you should create a ODS or Infocube with all relevant infobjects and load it by infopackage .

API Help -- Extract method results in Catstrophic failure!

We're trying to implement the HFM api to pull data out into a CSV. When we run HsvData.Extract, the call returns an exception:
Catastrophic failure (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8000FFFF (E_UNEXPECTED))
I'm not sure what this means and I can't find any help on the 'net. Our extract call looks like:

Extracting method names from JNI probes

Hello.
I would like to use the Call* probes from the hotspot_jni provider. These probes provide as argument a "method id". My question is how I can extract, for instance, the method name from this ID. I saw that JNI provides a method "GetMethodName" but being a dtrace novice, I am unsure how to obtain a handle to the JNI api from within dtrace.
Any hint would be greatly appreciated.

Actually, it can be done. Otherwise, how do you think debugger shows variables and formal parameters?
You should compile your aplication with debuginng information (for details see tools doc). Then you have 3 options:
1) run application under debugger and use JVMDI to get everything you want;
2) use bytecode libraries (BCEL, CGLib etc) to read class file and fetch required information through their API
3) write your own class file parser based on class file format described in Java Virtual Machine Specification
First way is quite complex and is definitely not for "production use".
Second way is the best in case you have time limitations, but size of your application will be increased because of thrid-party libraries.
Thrid way is the best if you have application size restrictions and have enough time to write simple class file parser to fetch that specific information (1-2 days depending on your experience).

Xrefactory cannot extract method?

When i use Xrefactory with GNU Emacs to extract some piece of java code to another method, it tells me to enter a name for the new method. After i do so, a error comes up:

The project was created using defaults, and there was nothing wrong with the method name i typed.
Could some one see what's wrong?

XMLType extract method does not work if namespace attribute values are included

In the example below, only the second row returns an ID from the extract function. The presence of an xmlns attribute appears to be the cause.

Thanks for looking into my issue.
When I started writing the dynamic custom approver group, I did not use FND_NUMBER and it didnt work. After that I checked it in the AME Implementation Guide which says
"Queries for number and currency attributes must select the number or currency
amount converted to a varchar2 by:
fnd_number.number_to_canonical"
So that should not be a problem.
Please correct me if I am wrong but Now I see two different possibilities :
1. The seeded variable :transactionId which is being passed to the query is not able to get the value. In other words, the transactionId is not being passed.
2. I am using wrong Attributes to identify the transaction which is being used in the Condition and that condition is used in a Rule. In this case, I am trying to identify that the Basic Person details are changed and I am using seeded attribute HR_IS_PERSON_BASIC_DETAILS_CHANGE_SS in condition.
Any feedback?
