Extractor 0EC_PCA_1: incorrect value for BALANCE field for USD currency

Hi Gurus/Experts,
We have a standard extractor in ECC side: 0EC_PCA_1 wherein USD currency (CURRTYPE/Currecny type = 30) is giving out a sum value for Accumulated Balance field of -300,962.66 for Plant A. I checked on its corresponding EUR value (CURRTYPE/Currency type = 10) it is giving out a sum value of +4,060,629.43 as shown below.

Logically thinking, if we sum up all of the accumulated balance and result is +4,060,629.43 in Euro, it should appear also as +USD after summing up the accumulated balance in the corresponding currency. But given this scenario, we are getting a negative result for USD value. I already checked the exractor on how is the Accumulated balance is being populated on ECC side but unfortunately, did not find any luck. I was not able to validate the records of Accumulated balance with the source table GLPTC as I don't have that much experience on the ABAP side.
As for my questions:
1. How is the currency conversion works on this extractor for Accumulated Balance field?
2. How is the value for Accumulated Balance derived?
Please take note also that isue rises at ECC side so I did not include the data flow on BW side.

Issue with Safety Upper limit for CALDAY Field for Generic Data Source

Hi,
I have given Upper limit as 1 for Calday field of one of the Generic Data Sources.
I have got a doubt here.If today's load got failed and I will rerun the load next day.So Will that new run captures all 2 days records.
Can any one advise me on this.

Hi,
A one-day upper safety interval determines that an extraction run today, only fetches records up to yesterday (if the pointer has the day before yesterday date, the extraction comprises from the day before yesterday to yesterday). This is meant to avoid missing records that were about to be persisted in the database when the delta extraction is running but whose date was determined in memory before the delta started.
If pointer has today date value and you want to load data from today and yesterday, you should use a lower safety interval. Take into account that this could reload data previously extracted. Therefore, only InfoProviders with overwritting features (DataStores or InfoObject master data) should be used as targets of this extractions.

Create an elementary serach help using the Table USR01 or USR03
see the steps
1) Elementary search helps describe a search path. The elementary search help must define where the data of the hit list should be read from (selection method), how the exchange of values between the screen template and selection method is implemented (interface of the search help) and how the online input help should be defined (online behavior of the search help).
2) Collective search helps combine several elementary search helps. A collective search help thus can offer several alternative search paths.
3)An elementary search help defines the standard flow of an input help.
4) A collective search help combines several elementary search helps. The user can thus choose one of several alternative search paths with a collective search help.
5)A collective search help comprises several elementary search helps. It combines all the search paths that are meaningful for a field.
6)Both elementary search helps and other search helps can be included in a collective search help. If other collective search helps are contained in a collective search help, they are expanded to the level of the elementary search helps when the input help is called.
CREATION:
Go to SE11 Tcode
select search help
give the 'z' search help name and create
select the selection method ur table name eg : 'mara'
dialog module 'display value immediately'.
add the field whatever u want and lpos = 1 and spos = 1 and check import and export parameter.
where left position when displaying and spos = search position
and then save and activate ..

No possible entries exist for this field for Shipping Point

Hi gurus,
I require the Shipping Point to be automatically determined in the Sales Order. Except this is not happening, I then attempt to manually select a Shipping Point in the line item of the Sales Order and receive the following error (in green)
"No possible entries exist for this field"
The Material Master has the Loading Group assigned.
The Sales Order Type has the Shipping Condition assigned (so does the Customer)
The Plant is assigned to the Customers (no CMIR created)
The combination of the three are entered in the 'Shipping Points Determination" table in SPRO with a Proposed Shipping Point AND a Manual Shipping Point.
Except I can not choose either of them as a Shipping Point in a Sales Order.
Anyone have the knowledge to understand why I can not select a Shipping Point?

Shipping points are independent organizational units that are linked to a plant and represent the point of departure or receipt of materials.
Check if shipping point is defined and assigned to plant or not by going to:

The shipping point is determined based on the shipping conditions, which are either entered manually in the sales order or are copied from the customer master record (shipping screen 01=as soon as possible, 02=standard, 03=collective processing). The shipping point is also determined by the loading group (0001=crane, 0002=forklift, 0003=manual), which is copied from the material master record, and the delivering plant of the line item in the sales order.

Accessing the field values in different fields for calculation

I am creating a report in which I have used breaks for grouping the customers by their category. I have used summary on the amount field to calculate the sum in the individual category and also for total amount.
Now, I also want to add an column which could display the percentages of individual contributions.
So, its like I have to write a query accessing the total percentage, categorized percentage and individual amount.
My question: How can I access the various fields values in the query of some other field specifically sum and total sum( because it shows the sum([Amount]) for category sum and total sum both)

Hmmm, I assume you are talking about WebIntelligence here...
Ok, so let's go: you can access every "object" in the report simply by it's name. Every cell contains either a constant value (e.g. some text) or a formula, the simplest one can be just the value of an "object" from the query.
There is a formula bar on top which you can activate, where you can easily see the content of a specific cell and also copy/paste the formula from the cell, as well as access all the built-in functions.
WebI has a built-in calculator which works very similar to a "micro" olap engine, so you can access every sort of aggregate (of a measure) via a correspondig formula, irrelevant in which cell you are using it.
Nevertheless, there is a "computation context" which depends on the place where you put the formula, e.g. summary row, detail row, etc.

Pulling a value from a field for a SQL statement

How do i pull the value from a Formatted Text Field into a sql query? Im trying to create an interface to allow a user to put the first name in a field then poll the database for anyone of that name. I do not know of how to get the value that is put in the field by the user.

Default value in dropdown field for FPM form in HCM Processes and forms

I am developing HCM Processes and forms using FPM forms and I had a dropdown list contains ten values. So, every time while opening the form first time, my dropdown field should be defaulted with fifth value from the list. How can we achieve this in dropdown field related to FPM Form.

LSMW dump with '/' for PRODPER field for AR load using Batch input.

I am getting an dump saying
Unable to interpret "/" as a number for IF BBSEG-PRODPER(1)
which is last field in the lsmw .
I defaulted to 200810 and also tried with blank and 102008 even though the dump exists.
let me know .any clue

BBSEG is intended for Batch Input, there should be only CHAR fields in it, if the field is a standard one look for OSS notes related, if it belongs to a customer include, correct your include (or CI include like CI_COBL_BI) as suggested in OSS notes mentioned above and use a char field with the length of the external format (e.g. 10 for date, etc.)
The IF BBSEG-PRODPER(1) syntax is presupposing a CHAR field, but when the ABAP executes it first check the whole field BBSEG-PRODPER, and if this is not a CHAR field you got a conversion error. A "patch" solution would be to use CATCH SYSTEM-EXCEPTIONS CONVERSION_ERRORS = 1. / ENDCATCH to catch the runtime error. You could also bypass the problem by redefining the field as char, use OVERLAY of FIELD-SYMBOLS for that.

Special ledger Balance Field incorrectly updated after note 577644

Hi gurus,
We are extracting data from a custom SL datasource we are generated.
Reading documentation, we realized we needed to implement note 577644 for populate balance properly to next periods, and we included the start routine referred in the note.
Now, we are facing a very strange problem, when we upload requests to ODS, a very few documents are getting incorrectly updated. Balance field is getting a "0" when it has value in the period. Checking the modification log of the ODS for this records we see that there are 3 records per period generated for this documents at the same requests. Two of them with the correct values and another one with the "0".
Moreover, if we extract this particular records individually, updated values are OK.
PSA data, etc is OK, it seems it should be a bug of the start-routine proposed in note 577644.
Has anyone encountered with this bad behaviour??

Addition of a Field in EKKO/Data not getting populated for that field

Hi All,
I have added a Z Field in EKKO Table through the Append Structure "CI_EKPODB".
There are around 2000 records in EKKO and for all the records that Z field is Blank.
But, when I write a Select Query in Program to Fetch the Records where that Z Field is BLANK, I get only 50 Records.
The same happens when I Execute SE16 for EKKO by giving condition Z Field = INITIAL. I get only 50 records in the output.
Please help me understand why I dont get all the Records where that Z Field is INITIAL?
Is any customization required or is this a Technical Issue?

hi rohan,
if you are adding a field in a table by append structure then make that field as ZZ instead of Z to differentiate it from normal fields.
now when you have created the field in a append structure then if have not checked the initial flag.thats why u are getting this data inconsistency.
this is because earlier 2000 entries are prestent in the table , now when you add another field in the table then that field will not have value for those 2000 records.
now when you create the fiels select the init flag field,if you select this then new flag field will NOT NULL,so initial values will be filled for that field for existing 2000 records.
Note : NULL and INITIAL are different things, NULL means not defined and initial means which is having its initial value.
check that init flag and u will get those 2000 records, you are getting inconsistent data now becuse value for that field is null ie not defined.
hopr this will solve ur post and u wil get the concept of append structure.

NEW FIELDS FOR PRICE DETERMINATION in MM

Hi all experts,
we have added new field in customizing so that in the purchase order in MM we can use new fields for price determination.
However we do not finde the exit or program were we can set a value for these fields.
for instance, we want to differenciate countries belonging to the EU and not. We create a yes/no field and get its value from table T005 where each country has this info. Everything seems to be ok, but our field is not populated into KOM* tables and therefore we don't go through the condition price...

First you have to ensure that all the values of these fields are in a single field and in a single table
then for that table you can build a elementary search nhelp
and can useuse the values for these 3 fields
in SAP all these fields will not be in single field and in a single table
you can't build and use the same search help for these fields
Already I hope there are std search helps for these 3 fields
see the KNA1,LFA1, and SKA1 tables for these fields
for customer -DEBI
Vendor -KRED_C
GL account - SAKO
are the std search helps
