Extractor upgrade BW 3.5 - CRM 5.0

Hello
Last year we upgraded from CRM 3.0 to CRM 5.0 but due to time constraints we didn't upgrade the CRM BCT extractors. Today we´re having general problems with extraction from the CRM systems and we know for a fact that some of our extractors runs on unsupported codebases. Is there any way to find out what extractors that have changed from CRM 3 to CRM 5 and what extractors that perhaps has been replaced by others? I can't seem to find that information anywhere.
We're running current running BW 3.5 and plan to upgrade to BI 7.0 in 6 months or so....

Hi Sharon,

  • Upgrade from CIC0 to CRM IC Web - is NetWeaver XI required?

    Hi,
I have a customer who is looking to move their processes from the customer interaction centre (CIC0) in the SAP GUI to the CRM 2007 IC WebClient. They have upgraded to ECC 6.0, but do not have NetWeaver in place today, so they have asked whether this is required for the implementation of CRM. Do I correctly assume that the CRM middleware concept has not changed (ie it still uses BDocs) with CRM 2007? Also, can you please confirm whether XI required for them to move to the CRM 2007 IC WebClient?
    Thanks
    Janine

    Hi Janine,
Yes. There is no change in the CRM Middleware concepts in CRM 2007. There is no need for an XI for using the CRM Webclient.

    Rahul,
The functional differences between CRM 50 and CRM 2007 have been discussed in this forum several times, please do a search.  In addition the information you are seeking is covered in the release notes for CRM 7.0 which are located here:
    https://service.sap.com/~sapdownload/011000358700001910282008E/RN_CRM_70_01_EN.pdf
    Or under

It is a several hundred page document with all the details you need.
If you have a more specific question please post it after doing a search here.  I'm going to lock this thread due to the vague nature of your question.

  • How to find extractor of a field in CRM

    Hi Everyone,
I need your help with this one.
In a CRM screen I see the fields and with F1 help I can see it is being stored in a table through a structure. How do I find which extractor the field is being extracted into BW.
This one is a custom development related with CRM activities but I am not able to find out which extractor is extracting this field and where in BW is it being stored.
The developers named of fields differently in CRM and BW. Ofcourse this doesnt matter unless they mapped right.
But how do I find where they are being mapped. It must be in BADI, but is there a way to find where this field is being called for extraction in BADI.
    Thanks
    Your help will be appreciated.
    Kumar.

in BWSE16-- table name 'ROOSOURCE'..then for APPLNM put 0CRM and execute...
This will display all CRM datasources in BW. Note down all datasource technical names.
Again in BW-- SE16 -- table name RSOSFIELDMAP
For OLTPSOURCE -- enter one datasource technical name
For FIELDNM -- enter field name u want to find out
like this check all datasources one by one

  • Standard extractors for pricing conditons in CRM

    HI Guys,
I would like to extract pricing conditions from CRM and wondering if there is a standard extractor for that.
    thanks

    Hi Bhat,
There is no standard CRM datasource to extract pricing information. I have attached a document to this message with a suggestion on how you might create your own extractor to load the pricing information, see the document pricingconditionssuggestion.DOC. Please note that this is only a suggestion and there is no guarantee that it will work
or meet your requirements. If you implement the suggestion though please let us know the results.

  • Upgrade - Installation CRM 7.0 with W2K3 and J2EE AddIn

    Hi all,
Because of the end of maintance I have to upgrade CRM 4.0 to CRM 7.0.
During the upgrade phase Iu2019ve detected changes within the CRM System installation and architecture.
First thing I discover was that itu2019s not possible to install CRM 7.0 with the W2K3 64bit OS.
You have to install the system with Windows 2008 Standard 64bit Edition.
All our SAP Systems running with W2K3 64bit OS with very good performance and that is why itu2019s our standard OS.
The different between W2K3 and W2K8 is enormous. (Everyone who changed from WinXP to Win Vista knows what I mean.)
Even the change of the SAP Kernel causes yet unknown problems
But I thought so what, thatu2019s IT and upgraded the ABAP stack to 7.0
The upgrade was fine and finished.
After that I would like to install the missing J2EE Components and TREX.
But the next catch Iu2019ve discovered was that it isnu2019t possible to install the J2EE Engine as an AddIn Installation into the upgraded ABAP Engine.
    Wow, thatu2019s a thing!!!!
Our company IT strategy is System consolidating and now I should make 9 out-of 3 systems.
    (DEV-QS-PROD Landscape)
Not to mention the administrative complexityu2026.
Now Iu2019m searching for solutions to avoiding this problems.
For the J2EE AddIn installation I want to try a intermediate upgrade to a former CRM Release where a AdIn Inst is possible (e.g. CRM 5.0 or something) and than upgrade to CRM 7.0
But whatu2019s about the prescribed OS W2K8?
As far as I know there is no SAPinst for a CRM 7.0 Upgrade/Installation under W2K3.
Ok, for a company with a huge webshop it makes sense, but our webshop isnu2019t so big that there could be same performance problems.
As noted before, all our SAP Systems running with a W2K3 64bit OS and we donu2019t have performance problems.
Does anyone have an idea how I can solve my CRM 7.0 Inst/Upgrade Problems?
    Best regards
    Mario Fischer

    Hi Mario,
We installed CRM 7.0 a couple of months back with DVD- 51035700 (Master) on a Win 2003 server.
NW 7.01 (base for CRM 7.0) is supported on Win 2K3...but PAM does mention 2008 exclusively for CRM 7.0
As far as the Java Add In is concerned, ABAP & JAVA stacks have been seperated in order to simplify things.
The dual stack was difficult to administer & manage; hence, now you need to install 2 different systems & connect them via JCO.
We had a 16 GB server for CRM 7.0, which instead of hosting one "ABAP+JAVA" system, now has 2 systems (a seperate ABAP system & a seperate JAVA one)..n so far we havn't faced any issues as such.
In fact it's a good thing that since the 2 stacks have been seperated, the dependancy factor's been minimized.
    Thanks,
    Have a nice day,
    S

    Hi experts!
Can anyone of you tell me about risks and scope (what must be done) regarding upgrading from CRM 3.1 to 5.0? Do you have any links to good documentation?

  • Upgrade CRM 3.0 to CRM 5.0 -Is solution manager by SAP required?

    Hello CRM gurus,
We are currently running on CRM version 3.0 and planning an upgrade to CRM 5.0.
Is solution manager absolutely required for this upgrade. I know that SAP heighly recommends it but is it absoutely required.
Also, could you please give me few inputs if you did the upgrade with/without the solution manager?
    Thanks for your inputs,
    Prasoon

    Hi Prasoon,
    in the <a href="http://service.sap.com/~sapidb/011000358700005413872005E">CRM 5.0 Upgrade Master Guide</a> I found this:
"Use of SAP Solution Manager is mandatory for mySAP CRM 2005. When you install SAP CRM 5.0 ABAP server or upgrade to this release, you are asked to enter a key generated by the Solution Manager. For more information, see the installation or upgrade guide for SAP CRM 5.0."

  • Web AS 620 - upgrade to  640 kernel & J2EE 640 - CRM 4.0

    Hi
We are running CRM 4.0 (SP6) with 620 kernel (1902) and  J2EE 6.20. This is running on Web AS 6.20. We implemented I.C Web Client and Mobile Sales functionaility with CRM.
We are planning to upgrade to 640 Kernel (ABAP). Any prerequisites or known problems with direct upgrade to 640 kernel in Web AS 6.20  and also any dependencies with J2EE engine since we are using IC Web Client?
Or do we also have to uprade to J2EE 640 Engine?
Your inputs on this would be highly appreciated.
    Regards
    Chandu

    Hi Chandu,
in our schenario when we want to use CRM SAF we raise the message to SAP they told me that both kernel is to be same.
but in one of the CRM server we upgrade the kernel of CRM server from 6.20 to 6.40 and J2EE server is 6.20 our application is run without any error.
if u want to upgrde ur Kernel, upgrade it, but make sure to backup the old kernel,
than after test the application. i'm sure it's works, in some case error than revert back.
if ur problem is solved close this forum

  • Upgrade from CRM 4.0 sp6 to CRM 2007

We are in the process of upgrading our sandpit from CRM 4.0 sp 6 to CRM 2007 as part of an overall CRM upgrade project.  The technical upgrade phase went fine we now have the sandpit running some of the standard delieved business roles etc.  My question is with respect to my original customizing:
    - what customizing/configuration needs to be redone
    - what needs to be adjusted.
    - what is no longer relevant
Is there any documentation out there that deals with addressing this topic.  Can anyone share their experiences.
We have a number of different Web based interaction centers some dealing with order taking in place in our original installation.
    Thanks in advance
    Eddie

    Eddie,
The rule of thumb is the following:
    - All UI based modifications/configurations/enhancements done in the lower release, must be redone in the new release.  Classic example is you removed fields from a screen or added new fields.  You also lose all your UI work done in CRM 40.
    - All non-UI based config/development that is in the business layer of the system should be fine, and may need some minor adjustments, but you should be able to keep this.  You probably though will have to redo some of your IC config as there were functional changes between releases.  I don't think however you will find that the configuration adjustments to take a lot of time
    - The old PCUI/IC webclient and SAP GUI applications(for data entry) are no longer relevant.
    Take care,
    Stephen

  • Upgrade CRM Sales -- Professional

A client originally purchased 10 Professional seats and 10 CRM-Sales seats.  There is only one system defined for this installation.  Needing more transaction capabilities, the client recently upgraded one of the CRM-Sales seats to Professional.  Effectively, the goal is to reduce the CRM-Sales to 9 and increase Professional to 11.
After purchasing the upgrade, the Contractual Information in the License Key Request section of the portal shows:
    User Type                          Licensed Requested
    AddOn Access License               110      4
    Professional User                  10       10
CRM Sales User (Standalone)        10       10
CRM Service User (Standalone)      2        2
    Upgrade CRM Sales --> Professional 1        0
In order to deploy the additional professional seat, I've requested a new license with 9 CRM-Sales and 11 Professional.  However, I get a "number of licenses users exceeded" message and only a temporary license is issued.
I have searched the Notes and the licensing documentation, but cannot determine how to claim the "Upgrade CRM Sales --> Professional" contract category so as to enable the additional Professional seat.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Dave

Peter & M, thanks to both of you for your responses.
M, I don't believe you need to delete the production system in order to generate a permanent license.  When I first generated the license with the additional user, and then found that it was only a temporary license, I was able to regenerate a permanent license by simply reducing the professional seats back to the original value.
Peter, yes, I confirmed that the license was indeed a temporary one.  We're now pursuing it as an administrative issue with SAP.
    Thanks,
    Dave
