Extractors in ECC 6.0

Hello,
Is there any diffrence in extraction between ECC 6.0 to BW and R3 4.7 you BW.
We are planning to upgrade R3 4.6 to ECC 6.0 , could some experts put some light on this.
Thank you
Shan

Hi Shan,
There is no change in extraction process as such. Regards

  • Standard extractor for ECC table BFOD_A

    Dear Gurus,
Do we have any standard extractor delivered by sap to extract data from ECC table "BFOD_A".
Also this table does not have any timestamp field..so in case we create generic datasource on this table how to do we extract delta.
    Thanks,
    Sandeep

As far as I know there is no standard extractors for this table. You are trying to get AR by Profit Center information? The FI consultant had tried adding a timestamp field but unfortunately the customized program is not 100% correct (as we have missing data in delta). So we just created a generic extractor on this table and perform weekly full load until the customized program got fix.

  • BW Extractors During ECC Upgrade

All, We are moving from 46B to ECC. One of the open questions we have is what needs to be done during the upgrade prepare phase with the extractors from our BW system.
We are using the downtime minimized approach, so the prepare phase will start several days prior to the start of upgrade downtime. Here is the question: We have 50+ delta extractors running that pull data from the ECC system to BW. SAP has told us that during the prepare phase (this is during system uptime) we will need to turn off the extractors and clear the delta queues prior to the prepare phase running. But they are also telling us that we COULD turn them back on after prepare is complete but before the downtime starts but that they do not recommend it.
Any experience with BW extractors and an ECC upgrade? Since we are starting the ECC prepare phase several days prior to the start of downtime for the upgrade, we are trying to determine whether we will be without BW feeds for that entire time or only during the downtime.
    Thanks!

No - I don't see it. We used that procedure when we went from 4.6 to 4.7 and it worked - we didn't have any data loss.

RSVBCHK doesn't just check for the BI deltas but for cancelled update tasks too and some more things.
You must though make sure that nobody creates any more deltas (thus no more production) after you passed RSVBCHK during UPGRADE OR make sure, someone is around at a later point before you shutdown the system and load the data out of the R/3 system. You must make sure that all deltas are loaded before you enter MODPROF_TRANS, if you still have delta there, it will be lost.

  • SEM-BCS data extractor from ECC general ledger table(s)

We are a utility company working on an SEM-BCS implementation and use the FERC solution.  We do not use the new GL.  We are trying to extract the transaction data from ECC to a BI virtual remote cube.  We cannot use the profit center extractor (0EC_PCA_3) as the profit center tables do not contain any ferc data.  We need to be able to extract the transaction data from a general ledger table.  We have run into several issues with various extractors we have tried because they donu2019t allow direct access (0FI_GL_4) or are at a summary level and we canu2019t extract group account, trading partner, and transaction type detail (0FI_GL_1).  Would you have any suggestions on how to extract general ledger data with the detail information required from ECC to be able to load to a BI virtual remote cube?

We are going forward with getting the natural account detail data using the profit center extractor 0EC_PCA_3, and getting the ferc summary data using the general ledger extractor 0FI_GL_1.  With our testing so far, this combination will provide us the data we need in BCS.

  • Changes in BW Extractors after upgrade (R3 to ECC)

    Hi,
My client is upgrading from R3 4.6c to ECC 6. I want to know what are all the changes in BW extractors in ECC. This will help me understand if our current applcations will be impacted due to these changes. Also, we will know what are the changes we have to make in BW after the upgrade to ECC.
Also, please mention where I can get the list of BW extractors for a given plug-In.
    Thanks
    Rekha

    Hi Rekha,
We are currently doing the R/3 upgrade from 4.6 to ECC 6.0 and I found that there is no significant impact on the extractors. Currently we found that "Assignment" field format has been changed in BSEG table but that field is not getting used in our reports.
In our system we don't have much LO extraction, so I don't know if there is any changes on that front.
You can refer the below thread for more information,

  • ECC to BODS - Standard Extractors

Hi Experts - We are using DS 3.2 SP - 3.
We need to pull the data from ECC system through standard extractors to the Flat File.
Does DS 3.2 supports the Standard extractors from ECC.
    Thanks
    R

You need to call the function via a Schema Out function within a Query transform just like you would call a custom function, i.e. right-click in the Schema Out panel and select 'New Function Call' then in the function wizard you must select your ECC datastore from the 'Function Categories' list and then you should see your imported function on the right, then follow the wizard to define the input parameters and choose which output parameters you want output as colums in the query (and can then write to a flat file).  Just be aware that if one of the output parameters is a table then you will need to unnest the table schema in a second query transform before wrtiting to the file.  Oh and just use a 'Row_Generation' transformation to generate one dummy row as a source.

  • Extractor 0EC_PCA_1: incorrect value for BALANCE field for USD currency

    Hi Gurus/Experts,
We have a standard extractor in ECC side: 0EC_PCA_1 wherein USD currency (CURRTYPE/Currecny type = 30) is giving out a sum value for Accumulated Balance field of -300,962.66 for Plant A. I checked on its corresponding EUR value (CURRTYPE/Currency type = 10) it is giving out a sum value of +4,060,629.43 as shown below.
    Plant
    Fiscal year/period
    Currency Key / Type
    Accumulated Bal(BALANCE)
    Plant A
    2011/005
    EUR / 10
    +4,060,629.43 <--Balance is summation value
    Plant A
    2011/005
    USD / 30
    -300,962.66 <--Balance is summation value
Logically thinking, if we sum up all of the accumulated balance and result is +4,060,629.43 in Euro, it should appear also as +USD after summing up the accumulated balance in the corresponding currency. But given this scenario, we are getting a negative result for USD value. I already checked the exractor on how is the Accumulated balance is being populated on ECC side but unfortunately, did not find any luck. I was not able to validate the records of Accumulated balance with the source table GLPTC as I don't have that much experience on the ABAP side.
    As for my questions:
    1. How is the currency conversion works on this extractor for Accumulated Balance field?
    2. How is the value for Accumulated Balance derived?
Please take note also that isue rises at ECC side so I did not include the data flow on BW side.
    Thanks!

  • Financial Statement hierarchy not extracted correctly from ECC into BW.

Recently, one of my clients modified a FS hierarchy in production environment by moving some nodes from revenue to expenses, but BW is not picking up the change.
In ECC via transaction FSE3, one of our Financial Statement hierarchies shows three nodes - (Group Life_, Vehicle Plan only_, and Cost of Removal_) as Expenses. However, the BW extractor still shows these three nodes as Revenue and loads the hierarchy into BW that way as well.
DataSource is 0GL_ACCOUNT_T011_HIER with field HIENM = AE03. When running RSA3 Extractor Checker in ECC, the displayed data still shows the three nodes in question as Revenue and not correctly as Expenses.
Found SAP note 1061847 - Ind. For reversing plus/minus signs not extracted correctly. Applied note in ECC development environment, tested the extractor, and checked the load into BW, but the error regarding the nodes still exists after applying the fix.
Appreciate any suggestions or thoughts from the community.
    Thanks!
    SAP landscape is as follows:
    SAP_BW     700     0009     SAPKW70009     SAP NetWeaver BI 7.0
    SAP_AP     700     0007     SAPKNA7007     SAP Application Platform
    SAP_BASIS     700     SAPKB70010     SAP Basis Component

Thanks SDNBI. I reviewed the suggested OSS note 1037447, but I am not sure how it applies in my situation. The suggested note seems to address a problem with the display of transfer structure in BW. Our problem seems to be that the extractor on ECC is incorrectly extracting the hierarchy structure. When viewing the data in RSA3 extract checker in ECC, I see the three nodes in question incorrectly positioned in the hierarchy. Thus loaded the same incorrect way into BW. Yet, when I display the hierarchy through transaction FSE2, the three nodes are displayed correctly.

  • Extractor 2LIS_03_BF

    Hi all,
We have recently upgraded our R/3-system to ver ECC 6.0 and are runing BW in version 3.5.
After this upgrade we have discovered differences in our Inventory management in BW in extractor
2LIS_03_BF. Does anyone know if there has been any changes regarding this extractor in version
    ECC 6.0?
    Thanks,
    Ingmarie

    Hi,
There are no changes to the extractor in ECC 6.0 version.
Before the upgrade hove you ensures that the delta queue was emptied ?  was the schedules job to push that data to delta queue disabled / stopped ?
have you re-scheduled the V3 update job  ?

    Hi,
Along with upgradation document you would get pre requisite note and BI content/Plugins information ( from Basis you can get necessary documents ) or you can get it from Service.sap.com.
generally when sourcesystem  upgrade happens :
we have to check the mainly for enhancement part and Includelogic(CMOD)
Datasource content (Eg : R/3 4.6 we dont have RDA concept then now ecc we have RDA enabled DS After upgradation these kind of changes would get effected to the extractors )
we need to follow the upgrade check  notes carefully .
    Hope this would help

  • Extract data from ECC to Oracle using Data Services 4.0

How to extract data from ecc6.0 Business content extractors  to oracle using sap bo data services 4.0

Are you trying to use the SAP BW Business Content to extract data out of ECC and load into Oracle tables with Data Services? If that's the case, then you cannot do that. The SAP BW Business Content was developed to only be used in conjunction with SAP BW. When using Data Services to access the extractors in ECC, it has to have an SAP BW InfoPackage associated with it to execute. In this architecture, Data Services is only a pass through from ECC to BW and allows the ability to do some transformations of data prior to loading into the EDW layer (staging tables basically) on SAP BW.
To connect ECC to Oracle, you're going to have to have all of the SAP BusinessObjects supplied Function Modules loaded onto ECC, along with a non-dialog logon account that has the ability to pass dynamic ABAP programs, generate the programs and schedule them. Depending on how you want to process the output, you may also have to have the ability to write to files on the ECC application servers and have an FTP account created on the application servers that can GET flat files and potentially DELETE them (you're going to need to delete periodically, otherwise your jobs will crash when the file space allocation has been consumed).

  • Possibility of connecting multiple BW systems to single ECC system

    Hi all,
I have a requirement in my company to connect multiple BW systems to single ECC system. Would like to confirm whether this may not be supported by all BW extractors in particular the delta mechanism?
For logistics extractor in ECC side in RSA7 it stores BW System as target which shows they support multiple BW systems as target, but for FI extractors which keeps delta timestamps in BWOM2_TIMEST table, it doesn't store the target system. I'm afraid if we connect multiple BW systems to single ECC system, some of the delta records might go to one BW system and some others go to the other BW system when we execute delta load in both BW systems.
Thank you very much in advance.
    regards,
    arie

    Hi,
You can very well connect multiple BW systems to single ECC system and you will not miss any delta as well. In the source system for each delta data source a delta queue is maintained for each target system.
for e.g. I have two BW systems ABW and BBW connected to AEC system then for 0FI_AP_4 data source we will have DQ1_ABW and DQ2_BBW as two different delta queues (I am not following any naming conventions, actual names will be as per the target system logical name).
The settings maintained in BWOM2_TIMEST table are across the system and they define some global settings e.g. till what time the FI data should be extracted in BW system, for e.g. the time maintained is 2.00 AM then though you do extraction from multiple systems same data will be extracted till next time interval occurs.
In summery you can very well connect multiple BW systems to a single ECC system.

  • BI extractor for longtext

    Hi,
We have done an extractor in ECC. We have created data source and extracted the records from ECC to BI.we have extracted all the fields and records extracting correctly in BI also. But there is a field with 254 characters. For this field after mapping is done in BI they can able to extract only 60 characters. Is there any other option in BI or from ECC side to get all the 254 characters.
    Please clarify on this.

  • ODP Extractor failing in Delta Mode

Hi, We are calling an extractor from ECC (ZBW_DMORDERS_BI) using SAP Data Services. Extractor was working fine for last 1 year but suddenly on 31 Mar it started failing. We checked with SAP BASIS team and nothing changed on that day. When I reimport Extractor and select Query mode then it works fine. When I reimport using CDC ( with out selecting any field as it was previously) then again ift fails. When we execute ABAP program RODPS_REPL_TEST in PROD then it works fine in DELTA and FULL mode.  When we try to connect/run to PROD from QA SAP Data Services then also it fails.
We get below error on failure.

    No reference here either.
my conclusion that without using pseudo deltas,   ie adding a field called delta mode, to the structure
and programming over the simple interface with a extra field
    or
build a full F1 complex datasource definition tool,
there is no good standard solution.
Im still interested if anyone has a good approach to this.

  • Master data extractor vs Transaction data extractor

    Hi all,
I am creating a generic (custom) extractor.
What is the difference between creating it as an transaction data extraction? or master data attributes extractor?

    Hi,
If you are interested in extracting master data like materail, customer then one should go for master data extraction whereas if you are interested in transactional data Purchasing, finance then go for transaction data extractor.
E.g. some of the master datasources are not available in BI content ( z object in ECC ) then go for master data extractor to get attribute as well as text. note you will not have KF values for master data load.
and some of transactional data been stored in some ztable in ECC also data like purchasing request although stored in std. ecc table but there is no datasource provided by SAP BI, so you have to create transaction extractor.
    T. Code to create these extractor in ECC is RSO2.
    Thank-You.

    Vinod
