Extreme audio digital

I connected my amplifier 5. chanels CAT CS-906 to my extreme audio through the coax cable using the digital output of the soundcard. I understand that the Dolby Digital 5. conversion isn't hardware made but still i want at least a software real time Dolby Digita 5. conversion so my amplifier would recognize and enable Dolby Digital not prologi. It sends Dolby Digital 5. signal only when i watch movies or listen to music that has the soudtrack on 5 chanels?
The problem with this is that my amplifier isnt that good at de decoding prologic and it sounds like crap when i listen to stereo music it mixes chanels up and it's just like piece of crap coming out of the speakers. But if the sound card sends Dolby Digital signal the it would sound MUCH MORE better. I know someone that has the exact amplifier and uses it on the computer but his sound card is nforrce 2 onboard and it still does Dolby Digital in real time all the time> The diference betwen us is just to great when it comes to listening to music
I want Dolby Digital 5. decoding in real time everytime why isnt this possible?
I am usinng windows Xp btw?

thank you crati've for helping me out i thought you are good at what you are doing but i found out that dispite your years of experience in this field you cant even design a proper software
you convinced me that you respect your clients by doing what you do
i regret even to this day that i bought that card from creative thank for making me feel this way
at least you could have the decency to reply me even tho you have nothing to help me with like......lets sayy a good software
you have an army of people working on developing new technologies in software and hardware and you cant even do something that is usefull to everyone
daniel_k is just one person comparing to hundreds you companies have and he managed to do something right why cant you do it's

  • X-Fi Extreme audio and FlexiJack with mini-tosl

    Hi.
I was told that you can use a standard mini-toslink to toslink cable instead of the i/o module if you only want optical spdif output from this card.
So i bought me the card and a the cable.
On my gamer pc the optical led of the FlexiJack is glowing all the time even if i dont use the port.
On my HTPC (the one with the Extreme Audio card) the FlexiPort is black as night and ofcourse i dont get any digtal signal to my reci'ver. The decoder tab where you are suposed to be able to set "Dolby Digital/DTS Bitstream Out" is absent..

Anyone? I really need to get this working...

  • X-Fi Extreme Audio not Recognized by Wi

I'm building a new system, using the Asus P5N-D mobo. I've got XP installed and updated to current. Windows recognizes that there is a pci device installed, but the X-fi drivers dont recognize the card.
Any tips or suggestions you have would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.

Hi candleja; I too am having the same issue, I was bought X-FI Extreme Audio PCI-Express and I attempted to install it on my FoxConn m/b running XP Pro SP3, same error showed itself saying device could not be located, it shows up in Device Manager but not as a normal audio device would (normally it states something like "Sound or Multimedia Device") it just states "PCI Device", the drivers on the CD didnt work, the drivers on the site didnt work (only being Vista ones is why but worth a go) and the work arounds to force a driver to install wont work on SP3 due to the "Only show compatible drivers" option not being present on device managers driver wizard anymore so I cant force it to install. I looked up the same card on a few online stores and they all said they support both XP/Vista and both 32Bit/64Bit but it did say "XP Pro SP2" rather than "SP3" or "SP2 or higher" but due to having a slipstreamed SP3 XP Pro install source I cant just uninstall SP3, very annoying >.< so if anyone has a solution that would be much appriciated! Its a shame as well I hear good things of this card and I've got a digital/optical surround kit but have been using stock/on-board SPU's for years now and I finally get around to getting a really hyped card and creative let me down grr! • Creative x-fi extreme audio card quest

I have a new HP Pavilion with the creative x-fi extreme audio card. My question is, when I open up the entertainment mode and look at the tabs I don't have any option button for Dolby. How can I output Dolby surround sound? I have Logitech x-30 5. speakers but no option for Dolby output.

I am using HP DVD player. So I set that within the player at SPDIF? I still don't understand why I dont have the option in the creative dashboard. Doesn't the card support Dolby? I am pretty good at understanding all things video but this sound thing really confuses me. I thought SPDIF is for digital optical output to digital speakers? Can I get dolby with 5. analog speakers?

  • Xfi extreme audio SB0790 Windows Home Premium

I have installed Windows 7 upgrade on an HP desktop that was running XP Pro. Install went fine exept I have an error "No Audio Device Installed"? yet I have installed the Xfi extreme audio card in its slot. The card works fine with XP. I have gone with the windows update installed the current driver with still no luck. Searched the forums again no luck, have done my due diligence via the internet and with beta drivers and still only have the red X everytime I boot. What can I do to get this card working agian?

Re: Xfi extreme audio SB0790 Windows Home Premium0 As I stated in my first post I did my due diligence and after installing beta drivers for the SB0790 then installing the recommended driver dated July 09 it still does not recognize the device (7 Home Premium). I have gone through every forum google points me to we are not alone, taking advice I've installed then deleted these drivers about 0 to 20 times I've tried compatibility mode "Vista" "Vista SP", "Vista SP2", "XP", and so forth with no luck also running the driver as admin. Every time I update driver in 7 it tells me I have the current driver yet I have a red X and no sound.
I can't believe that Creative does not have working drivers for the final release of 7 knowing that they had 6 to 8 months to prepare. Really poor on their part.

  • Audio digital recording

Can I use a audio digital recording with a window format ( it a lot cheaper ) and then transfer the recording into my computer to burn to cd or into my ipod?
    imacG5 ,iMac7,1,2 2Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo
    Austin

Yes, .wav or ,Mp3. with USB connection. I finding the Mac compatibles are about 200.00. The PC is about 60.00. I want to record some of our tele-conference classes, instead of using a cassette recorder, which is what I do now. I would like to place the file on the desktop and burn it to cd or put into my ipod for later listening. Will imac see the recorder? Any suggestion?

  • Audio Digital Analog Converter bit resolution

Hello ! i´m looking if I can use IPHONE to make my investigation project. Someone of you know which is the audio Digital Analog Converter bit resolution for a normal audio conversation? 13bits? thank you very much

MonoPrice.com has a digital to analog converter for around $25 although it looks like it is on back order. I would give them a call anyways. Don't get fooled by their prices, they are fast and cheap but good and the place to buy all your audio and video cables. I wired up my sisters entire home theater for less than a quarter of what I payed for my first HDMI cable which I didn't pay much for either.

  • Cannot install the new update for extreme audio on vi

when i click the .exe and get to the instalation page it tells me i have a unsupported product and exits i have the vista drivers installed from feb. how do i get this to work?

You cant install the new driver, because youre extreme audio is not supported. Extreme Audio is the only "X-FI" card that really isnt a real X-FI. So the Xtreme Audio card has its own set of drivers. You just need to take the right path when selecting files to download. You?ll see what I mean when youre there if you pay a little attention to what youre doing. Sorry mate, you got spoofed by you know who.

  • Purchased XFI extreme audio PCIe for someone and it won't install on vista 32

The hardware isn't detected and thus cannot be installed. I had the same problem with my fatality titanium but at least there was a patch download for windows 7 so the card can be detected. No such patch exists for the extreme audio PCIe which means the card won't install under windows vista or windows 7.
Am I missing something or what? I have read other similar complaints about this particular XFI.

    EUREKA!
Reading the bowls of the post just below, It said to make sure shockwave was enabled. It wasn't!! I enabaled it and tried my web sites and things worked fine.
Thanks to those that post helpful answers

  • "What U Hear" - X-Fi Extreme Audio on Vi

    Hi,
Having Googled on this subject, I think I know what I want. The trouble is I've read so many threads both here and in other forums, I just can't find it! I hope you'll be nice to me as a first-time poster here
I have the X-Fi Extreme Audio Card , am running Vista (32) and need the "What U Hear" function. It appears I need old drivers/software from 2006 to make this work - Can anyone kindly point me to a li've link for these, please?
I have been in contact with Creative Tech Support, but have sort of hit a brick wall
Many thanks in advance for your help.

    Hello,
I have the same problem, I got Windows Vista and as a sound card I have SB X-Fi Xtreme Audio. Everthing was fine until I baught this new headset from SteelSerios. The sound works fine but when I come to the microphone, I cannot record, I cannot be heard in Ventrilo and stuff.
So please Jingleman what have you eqtually done to solve your problem and what driver have you downloaded please.
    Thanks In Advance
    Dajdu,
I can not comment on SteelSerios, but I totally removed all Creative software, which included the driver. Vista then picked-up my 'X-Fi Extreme Audio' sound card as 'new hardware' and automatically found a suitable Creative driver. After this I updated driver allowing it to check the internet and the working driver is Creative 5.2..68 dated 08/05/2007 (that may be 05/08/2007 to you).
If that doesn't work, try temporarily removing any software you installed relating to SteelSerios
    Cheers.

  • X-Fi SB Extreme Audio + Barracuda HP-1 + Game M

Hi,?Windows XP OS (with all service packs) with X-Fi SB Extreme Audio + Barracuda HP - I do not have Game Mode available as an option in the Creative console. As I research this, it seems this is the normal state for this audio card. However, I am unable to get sound from all the speakers in the HP-. When I uninstall the card and revert to the on-board sound card, the HP- appears to be?working properly - it seems that this is likely a driver issue rather than a hardware issue. Assuming I get a good clean reinstall of the X-Fi Extreme Audio card and drivers such that the HP- works, am I going to get positional sound from the HP-s when i play games such as Gothic 3, BioShock, Gears of War, or F.E.A.R.,?or do I need to upgrade the audio card?I'm not really interested in the technical reasons why the sound card and headset may or may not be compatible, I'm mostly interested in knowing if this combo works or not. If this is a driver issue, is there a best driver set to use rather than the most recent drivers at the Creative site?

I never got any help with the above from anyone. I am using the remote control to jack in and out now, but the Zalman mic wont shut off no matter where I go or what I do. HELP

  • X-Fi Extreme Audio PCIe Driver doenst work with Vista - HD Audio Device is installed automati

    Hey,
after trying for hours this forum is my last hope. For about a year my PC worked more or less fine with Vista Business und the Soundblaster Extreme Audio PCIe (if you ignore the not working line in).
But today the driver vanished for no reason. Instead of the Creative Driver an Vista HD Audio Device was installed. I still got sound but the overall sound quality got really bad.
So i tried reinstalling the Soundcard using the Driver CD. There were no error messages but after a reboot there was still the HD
Audio Device. I downloaded the new driver from the creative HP: Same effect. I tried updating the HD Device, i tried deleting the Device. I even tried deleteing the the internal Driverfiles but after that I just got the problem that I had no audio device at all.
I don't think the card is broken because i get sound using the HD Driver.
Has anyone any idea what i can do to fix this

Funny fact: Today, after a reboot, the card worked again... Dunno why... But it does...

  • X fi extreme audio questi

?Hi all?Nooby to PCs, i have vista 32bit and i have downloaded the drivers from creative for my a fi extreme audio BUT there isnt no other features that have been added!?When i had xp i used the x fi CD and had a little icon in my task bar where i could change bass, crystal thingy, graphic eqauliser etc etc. Have i missed something or have i installed it wrong? Thanks

The current drivers offer only the really basic stuff (sound output ).
You'll have to wait for a newer beta or the final driver until you'll have the Audio Console back.
Meanwhile, you could check for a solution using the XP drivers in this thread: http://forums.creative.com/creativelabs/board/message?board.id=Vista&message.id=4560&view=by_dat e_ascending&page=

  • X-fi extreme audio notebook interface specs QUEST

I want to?get one but I only have a PC CARD slot not an Express Card one, and I've seen a USB to Express Card converter BUT it warns that IT WILL NOT DETECT OR WORK WITH CARDS THAT USE THE PCI EXPRESS PORTION OF THE INTERFACE, so my question is, does the x-fi extreme audio notebook use this portion? if it does guess I'm pretty much PWND... • X-Fi Extreme Audio / Line In not functio

Running: Windows Vista RTM?Repro: Clean boot machine. Disable on-board audio chipset.Powerdown, install X-Fi Extreme Audio cardPowerup, cancel autoinstall of windows driverDownload & install most recent driver version from creative websiteReboot, still in cleanboot.Whoopee, Windows sounds work. but.... where the heck is Line In so I can perform the *one thing*?I bought this card for??I'd very much like to listen to my MP3 player!?Help!

Re: -Re: X-FI Xtreme Audio/ Line-IN + Mic Problem? OK Gentleman, the problem is fixed, and this with the original and actuall creative drivers.
Because daniel_k`s unofficial soundpacks didnt work for me, i decided to install the actuall creative drivers and started a support request. In the meanwhile i installed the official updates which are provided in autoupdate function. With driver .4000 there is no possibility to set flexijack to mikro so its not possible to use the mikrophone.
After restart the windows update function shows an creative update, which is not shown with the creative autoupdate tool (ugly i think but thats true). I decided to use the windows update, downloaded it, restarted the pc and now...
    Start Creative systemconfig:
Now everything works fine. EAX is working, Crystalizer is working... The only thing which is not possible... using 2 analog inputs at same time. Because i own a analog tv card, i have to use the onboard realtek analog cd in. With XP and Vista it was possible to watch tv and use teamspeak for example... now i can watch tv or use teamspeak but its not possible to do this at same time.
