Extreme trouble transfering video files to ZEN MX

I'm having trouble putting videos on my Zen MX. I've tried a multitude of ways to transfer the file(s);
. Using Centrale with a normal avi. file - convert unsuccessful.
2. Using Format Factory to change the avi. file using the preset conditions for Zen MX and then using Centrale with the new file - convert unsuccessful.
3. Using Format Factory to change the avi. file to WMA. format and then using Centrale with the new file - convert unsuccessful.
I just cannot understand why this isn't working. Any suggestions welcome, because if this doesn't work I'm going to have to buy an iPod and I can't be dealing with that shi.

please creative. Scrap the useless fileformat and start support the ones we actually use!

• Trouble Transferring Videos Files from computer to ipad in ios 8

Hello -
I'm a bit confused about the "sharing" aspect of what used to be the "home videos" section in itunes for transferring video files to my ipad. It appears I can only access these files when my itunes is open and able to be accessed via wifi. What am I missing? I would like to have the files themselves on the ipad so that I can watch videos when not connected to the internet, and not near my computer.
Apologies, this is probably an easy fix - I haven't been able to find an answer,
Elizabeth

• Trouble Transferring Data Files From Zen Xtra to Computer...HELP

Hello to all technical-savvy people out there in computer land, I'm hoping you can help me somehow, as I am frustrated beyond belief.
I have a Creative Nomad Jukebox, Zen Xtra, 30 GB. I used it for, obviously, listening to MP3's while I was out of the country in Australia, and I also used it to store data...all of my digital pictures and videos. When I got back to Chicago, I was able to download all the drivers and software onto my dad's computer from online, and was able to successfully transfer everything from my Zen Xtra onto the computer.
I am now at my mom's, and trying to do the exact same thing to her PC and to her laptop....neither of them want to cooperate with me. The computer recognizes the device, and can recognize the data, but it is unable to transfer the information from the device to the computer. I have done the following:
Downloaded the drivers/software
Restarted the computer (plenty of times)
Rebooted the Zen Xtra
Firmware upgrade
And I still can't transfer. I want to show my mom the pictures desperately, and it's realllly frustrating me. If anyone can help me out, my email is [email protected]][email protected]
Thank you,
Sheryl

If it worked with the exact same drivers/software on one PC but not another, this suggests a USB incompatibility (especially as you've tried a firmware upgrade). It's not clear whether this is Creative's drivers and/or certain USB chipsets, but issues do seem to exist for some people with certain combinations of hardware.
Out of interest, have you tried a disk cleanup? To access the Rescue Mode hold down the play button and KEEP it held down, press the tiny reset switch once, and KEEP the play button held down until the player boots into the Rescue Mode. Choose Disk Cleanup from the menu. Note: Disk cleanup should not remove your tracks. It searches through the disk for files and rebuilds the index, and can be useful for correcting any strange behaviour.

• Converting video files for zen

}Hello,
I recently sold my old desktop and purchased a laptop. I need to obtain software that will convert my video files to suitable files for my creative zen. I will be putting them on the external memory card thats in my zen, so what program can I use to convert the video files on my laptop first before putting onto the memory card?
Thanks!

• Problem transferring JVC Everio HD Camcorder Video files to ZEN 1

I can't seem to succesfully transfer video files recorded by my JVC Everio hard dri've camcorder to my ZEN. The files as originally downloaded from camcorder to PC are?.MOD format which is not visible to ZEN Explorer as a videofile and will not convert at all. I?changed the file extension to .AVI?and these are now visible and will convert and transfer, but?cannot be played by my ZEN.
Has anybody else had similar problems, or?does anybody have any suggestions?p.s. I have succesfully transfered other video files including AVI files?recorded using my Fuji stills camera.

welcome batman to the  board ...
well... the iApps iMovie and iDVD are meant to work
with firewire connected miniDV camcorders...
you lose the convenience of the iApps... anyhow:
Streamclip
(free) is the weapon of choice, in case, your
HDcorder stores as mpeg1...
for mpeg2 conversion, you need additionally the Apple
mpeg2 plugin (20$) ...
helpful?
Thanks for the quick response!
Well, I think they are in mpeg2 format, but not positive. Anyway, I did away with miniDV camcorders because they transfer much slower to the computer than the HD camcorder...but now I get this issue! lol I guess that's what I get for switching to a Mac!
Is there any other way besides the $20 plugin to convert the file? Will the plugin lose any quality in the conversion process?

• Trouble transferring videos purchased in iTunes to video iPod

I found this to be a bit curious. I just purchased the White Stripes' "Hardest Button to Button" video in iTunes (along with 4 other music videos from other bands), and I was unable to transfer the file to my video iPod (the other four videos transferred without problem). The message said that it could not be played on this iPod. Is this a widespread or unique problem? I thought all videos purchased on iTunes were compatible with the video iPod, if not, is there a way to determine this before purchasing? Is there a way to solve this problem without purchasing additional software?

Unhelpful boilerplate response from the iTunes customer service team below. I have all of the updates (for iTunes & video iPod) and still no luck. I've even done the restore to factory settings thing, and also, no luck.
Has anybody else encountered this quirk (see my original question) and managed to work around it without purchasing any additional software?

• How to recover hidden video files on Zen X-Fi

Hi all,
The screen cracked on my Zen X-Fi, so nothing is visible. I think it also may somehow be out of power and not rechargable.
What I need to do is recover some of the videos I had on there, but I had them as "hidden" video files.
Is there some way to hook the X-Fi up to my computer, use it as an external disk, find the hidden files, and copy them? I can't even get it to look like an external disk in Windows Explorer.
Any ideas? I'd be grateful. Thank you.

How long do you have it plugged in to charge? Leave it plugged in for an hour to see if there is any response.
If it's completely dead then I am afraid you won't be able to transfer the files back to your computer. There are third-party vendors that offer data recovery services for a fee, you might want to do a google search for them.

• Trouble getting video files into iPod Video

I am having trouble getting some video files onto my Video iPod.
Some videos will sync onto my iPod, some won't.
But, they are formatted the same way. And have the same extension.
The format for the files are:
Frame size: 320x240
Video: H.264
Audio: AAC
I see nothing in Quicktime's movie properties that is different between the videos that will, and will not transfer onto my iPod.
What do I need to change to make these files update onto my iPod?
thanks a mill!

Frame rate?

• Trouble adding video files to library

I am unable to add most video files to my video library, the only files i have been able to add so far are quicktime files, also, when i try to open other video files into quicktime it says:
Error -2048: The file is not a movie file
Im not sure if this has anything to do with adding files to itunes library, just thought id mention it. I've tried to convert some of these files to quicktime with Xilisoft Video Converter 3 but when i do it, it says that it failed. If anyone knows of any good reliable video converters (if this would solve my problem) that would be cool. Also, this doesnt have anything to so with my problem, but i cant find any movies or tv shows in my Itunes store, and yes i do have the latest itunes version: 7, i can buy games, music videos, and pixar short films but i cannot find tv shows or movies.
any help would be greatly appreciated.

Also, the videos which connot be moved into iTunes cannot be played using iTunes. Any way to fix this problem?

• Having trouble importing video files

hi, look Im kind of new on this program so I have been importing video files to the project but when I watch them they appear without sound. If I open them in quicktime or any other player they do have sound but its like final cut does not recognize the sound on them. Do anyone know about this? it happens in different types of video files, even when I open the "item property" thing and I look at the format there is a list there but sound issues do not appaer. please let me know if you know something.

Importing from...where? What format are these files? FCP doesn't work with just any QT file...they have to be editable codecs. Not all QT codecs are editable.

• Transferring Video Files without Losing Project Links

I know this issue must have been addressed in the archives, but I can't seem to find the specific issue.  Hope someone can help.  The online manual is no help.
My C: HDD is filling up with video files, and I'd like to move all video files (and future files) to a new 2TB disk that I have installed dedicated for that purpose.  I intend to leave Premiere Elements 4.0 and my .prel projects in my existinng C: drive.
How do I do this safely, without losing the links between the raw video files and clips inserted in my project??  Thanks.

the Archiver seems straightforward, but I will then have my .prel project on a drive different from the Premiere program.  Somewhere I read that this is possibly unstable.  Any opinions?
Actually, this is preferred. On a two, physical HDD setup, allocation like this is best: Not sure where you saw a rec. to have the Project on the same drive as the program.
C:\ OS, program files, and maybe the Windows Virtual Memory (Page File)*
D:\ Project, Assets and Scratch Disks
If one has a 3 HDD I/O, this would be the best
C:\ OS, program files, and maybe the Windows Virtual Memory (Page File)
D:\ Project, and Scratch Disks
E:\ Assets
* A bit of experimentation might indicate that the Page File does better on another HDD, as far as ultimate performance is concerned. I have two different Page File locations, on two different machines. On one, splitting the statically managed Page File over C:\ and D:\ yielded the best performance, while on another computer, locating it fully on E:\ was best. Just depends, though locating on C:\ will usually be pretty good. For video-editing, I do like to statically manage the Page File, as is explained in this ARTICLE.
Good luck,
Hunt

• Trouble exporting video files HELP!

I have a few Flash animation projects that I want to put on
my demo reel, but I can't get the animations in a usable format.
The bulk of the animation is a walk cycle in a movie clip. Of
course, when I hit play in flash, I see frame one of the movie clip
standing there for 16 frames, then it skips forward and stands over
there for 16 frames, then it skips forward, but the whole animation
plays smoothly when I export the .swf file.
However, whenever I try to export a video file all I get is
this useless frame one skip that you see when you hit play in
Flash. Anyone know how I can fix this? Are there video editing
programs that will take .swf files?
So far I've tried exporting into .avi and .gif.
Whenever I try exporting to .mov, I get this message.
"The installed version of Quicktime does not have a handler
for this type of flash movie. Please consult the documentation for
further information."

There are a couple of things you can try. None great but most
will do. First, make sure you have the latest version of Quicktime
installed. If you can afford it buy the Pro version. Its pretty
cheap and you won't regret it. It makes converting all sorts of
files simple.
Second. I'm not sure what version of Flash you are using. The
older versions of Flash were pretty crappy at exporting video.
Flash CS3 Professional is little better but its something. Anyway,
if you don't have this download the 30day demo and give exporting
.mov from Flash CS3 a shot (after you install the latest version of
Quicktime)
Another thing you can try do is use a screen capture software
such as SnagIt or CaptureWiz. They will allow you to capture your
Flash movie as video and both have demos you can try before you
buy.
And one other thing I have done to capture my Flash files,
which works great, is to capture my screen to video. If you have
the capability to export your monitor to video or better yet a
firewire videocam and then someway to edit it your Flash to video
life will be easy as pie.
Good luck

• Can't Upload video files onto Zen Visio

Well the title pretty much explains it... i've followed the guide in the intructions book and i still can't get it to work. do i have to download some sort of codec's for it or something?Message Edited by Oshapash on 2-02-20070: PM

I have had this same problem I believe. If you find the video file on your computer and right click on it, go to properties, click on the details tab, and find the Audio title. If the quality is above 28 kbps it will not be able to be put on your player.
The video converter does not reduce the audio quality so that it will work, it only converts the video....stupid Yes! If you can find a solution to this problem, please let me know!
