Extremely Frustrated with lack of pre sales support

A friend will be moving to Mexico but was looking at buying G550 MFG#: 2958A4U laptop in Canada but needs to make sure that it is serviceable in Mexico. I phoned Lenovo web sales but they could not help since that p/n is not sold on the website. Is this model serviceable in Mexico and if so is it only by mail within Mexico ie no on site service??

    For the wifi problem:
    Does the iOS device connect to other networks?
    Does the iOS device see the network?
    Any error messages?
    Do other devices now connect?
    Did the iOS device connect OK before?
    Try the following to rule out a software problem:                 
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
    Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
    least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Power off and then back on your router

  • Frustrated with lack of help!

    I up graded my phone to an iphone 5c.  I received it yesterday and call the 800# to activate my phone.  During the phone call I was transferred to customer service because my phone was unable to activated.  I was on hold for 30 mins and the customer service rep told me there was nothing she could do manually I would have to call the 800#.  I did this 3 times, each time told the same thing!   Finally the 4th time I told the rep I needed to speak to a manager and he informed me the manager wasn't available and to call tech support.  So my 5th phone call to Verizon I spoke to a girl in tech support who was able to tell why my phone wasn't unable to be activated.  the SIM card that was preinstalled was never registered and I would have to go to a Verizon store to get one.  Here's my problem again, I leave in a rural western pa.  I called my local store and they told me I would have to buy a SIM card because they are not a corporate store!  The closets corporate store is 1 hour away.  I am so frustrated with verizons lack of system checks that I just want to send the phone back!!  I have never had this many problems with Verizon and I have been a customer for 15 years.

  • Extreme Frustration with Blurry Text Export in CS6

    Two related problems that are extremely frustrating. I'm hoping someone who has grappled with this issue in the past, will take pity on my wretched soul and help me out.
    1) So I have this Premiere Pro CS6 project with a dynamically linked After Effects composition that contains a 3D Text title.
    The preview of the composition looks perfect within Premiere Pro (and obviously, After Effects). Nice and crisp.
    However...
    When I try to a) render the sequence preview or b) export the sequence in Premiere Pro -- I can't get the text to display crisply. It's all blurry. I've tried all of the different encoders and only one of them works. The problem is that the only export setting that works creates a monster file (and a bit rate of 500,000+Kbps -- 100 times what the original video quality was):
    - Format: AVI
    - Video Codec: None
    - Depth: 24 Bit
    All of the other export settings are the same as the original media (except that the original media is quicktime format -- .mov). I've also made sure that the composition settings are correct for the media (by having dragged the media to the new composition window). I'm also not sampling up or down. It's 1280 x 720.
    2) Here's the real brain scratcher, if I don't export using this very high 24 bit depth, or if I use another encoder, I get really crappy video -- beyond just the 3D text. This blows my mind, because the original footage (is only rendered at 5,000 Kbps) yet looks pristine.
    I've attached a couple of images to show what I'm talking about. Anyone have any ideas?
    I understand that I can expect some degradation, but come on, this is ridiculous. I've seen 3D text at 480p look better than this. What am I missing? If I were getting paid for this assignment, I'd either be fired or have to commit ritual seppuku for my shame and dishonor.

    Okay, I've posted a screenshot of the export tab that I'd like to use (that doesn't work), below. It's just one of dozens of different configurations I tried, that didn't work.
    This second image is a screenshot of the only export setting that I was able to get to work (which generated the ginormous file).
    This third image is an export screen with the "Match Sequence Settings" checkbox selected. Thought that it might be revealing.
    Steven, to answer your question -- yes, the original media is 1280 x 720, and that is also what I'm exporting. The only reason the screenshots look so small is because I cropped them. When I went to post an image on this forum, there was a message that says the maximum image width that can be posted is 405 pixels and that larger images would be scaled down. So I simply cropped the images to that size so as to provide a non-altered version. Maybe that message was just referring to the thumbnail size? I've posted larger images this time.
    Sorry for the delay -- I'm still figuring out how to post the individual AE comp... Is there a preferred method?

    This LR CC launch freeze issue is frustrating and the inability to get support is unsatisfactory.
    The two Adobe solutions do not work.
    Numerous uninstall/reinstall do not work.
    Impossible to get support on the chat line.
    Losing faith in the product.
    Just join the long and growing queue I suppose.

    When is Apple going to support Flash Player on IPad? 
    The majority of sites that have multimedia content rely on Flash. Safari users are missing out on tons and tons of content that depends on Flash.  I have and love my IPad 2. I should be able to use this awesome thing to get at anything I need to on the Internet. Yet when I need to access Flash sites, I am forced back to my windows PC.
    Please Apple Make it happen! I'm tired of being ragged by android users on this. You need to fix it.

Well even 3 years after Steve Jobs claims it's still using 5x more resources than Flash.

  • Extremely Frustrated with Purchase and Lack of Customer Service

    I purchased an LG TV on 10/10 for $679.99 10/10, a week later I saw that Dell had the same television for $479. I called to Best Buy customer service and tried to price match. The man that I spoke with said no problem and that he would forward this request to the appropriate department and that I would see the difference refunded in 7-10 business days. Well 3 weeks went by and I had not received any type of refund. I then had to switch banks due to other unforseen circumstances. I have been trying to get the refund to either my new account or in the form of a gift card. I went to the physical store I purchased the TV at and after about an hour they told me that I just had to call 1800BESTBUY. Well I have been on the phone with them 4 separate times all being told different things. The first lady was actually very helpful, was on the phone for about 45 minutes and then the call dropped after we were finally getting somewhere and I never received a call back. So I called you guys back and after a ridiculous hold time someone just told me that I would have to wait 72 hours for some sort of resolution and I have no idea what the hell is going on now. I am currently talking with someone right now and she just keeps putting me back on hold trying to figure out what the hell is going on. I am just fed up listening to the holiday hold music and need something done about this immediately. Whether it be a refund to my new bank account or a refund in the form of a gift card, I do not care because it will just be spent on Christmas gifts from Best Buy either way. I am just so sick of wasting my time being on hold on 4 separate phone calls, each long with no resolution whatsoever.   • Frustrated with lack of service

    I want to express my frustrations and disappointment with Verizon personnel. Back in October I requested to have my services transferred because I was moving. I was only able to request my phone service and Internet since the new area did not provide verizon cable. A new box for the phone needed to be installed and when it was I was told I should call mt phone company because according to the test u had no phone service. This brought me back to the fact that I was having phone issues where I used to live and even had to purchase a new fax machine thinking that was the reason I was unable to fax. I called Verizon in October only to have to call back because they could not assist me and I had to speak to the financial dept. I called back and I was informed that the phone number I wax providing was assigned to a different provider. I was te to call back again during normal business hours as they could not help me. Again I call and speak to someone named Elliot who informed me "Rock ticket" would need to be submitted so my two account could be consolidated and they would try to get the phone number back as well. At this moment I have two separate accounts. Instead of just having the services transferred, I was given a whole new account number for the new place and I am still incurring charges on the original account for phone services I have not had nor been able to use for the past several months. I called verizon once again yesterday to follow up since I received a text my phone services were going to be suspended for non-payment. Instead of getting a resolution to this headache I need up having to pay do I wouldn't be sent to collection. The original account at this to time accumulated to $273 but the rep was kind enough to give me $100 credit. As you can see I am extremely upset because I'm paying for services I don't have. The rep informed me that obviously I don't have phone service because if my non-payment but the would be restored once I paid. I have checked again this morning and there's still is NO phone service. The recording states the number is terminated or not in service. My frustration is that during my last phone call to Verizon I was told pretty much I am responsible for amount since the gave no record of me calling that I have an issue with my phone service. He also advised me not to keep calling because there is a lot of confusion. Now if I wasn't following up there next step would have been collection. I have been calling and following up since October and I'm still incurring charges for a service I don't have. What else can I do since they're not willing to transfer me to a supervisor nor are they resolving this in a timely manner?

    I have landline, DSL Internet and then a separate mobile and data plan with you. I cam home yesterday and it seemed Fios was being installed or serviced next door or two doors down. I can not connect to the Internet via my DSL. My data plan is 75% used up. I tried calling customer service numerous times and was default routed to something automated in Spanish, which I do not speak.It not seem to be saying anything about unavailability due to time, and your web page does not seem to conspicuously sayt anything as to that either. I have a cordless phone. It was using up battery possibly on the way to nowhere even though I stayed on a good while. I tried another option at one point, you had someone with what seemed an Indian or Pakistani accident who was available to SELL me something.He spoke fast. I was asking him to be connected to customer service and he was telling me to call the number but not listening to what I was saying about the language problem. Eventually he LAUGHED at me and apparently hung up. I don't feel Verizon really cares about its customers. You care about SELLING more poor service to us. YOUR home page and a lot else looks like that. I need help. You are acting Too Big To Serve. The problem with my connection seems to be your line to me or, possibly, my modem that came with service many years ago needs to be replaced. But there is no one to communicate with, even though you are supposedly about communication.

    Your issue has been escalated to a Verizon agent. Before the agent can begin assisting you, they will need to collect further information from you.

  • E4200 - Disappointed with lack of external HD support

    I purchased this router to replace a Cisco router (don't remember the model number anymore). I purchased the E4200 back when it was first released. First problem I ran into was it would not recognize the external HD I plugged into it. Yet the same external HD was running on the previous Cisco router with no issues. We could no longer back up over the network to the HD drive. Now, several months later, and even with the latest .04 firmware the router still does not see the external HD. Now I don't know if I should purchase another external HD and take a chance for find a different router. Very disappointed that a feature that worked just fine in the previous model version doesn't work on the E4200.
    Otherwise range seems okay compared to my previous router. No better, no worse.

  • Perhaps I'll have to take it back...was: Frustrated with lack of Creative Supp

    Going nuts trying to get the X-Fi Fatality FSP card to work with my system. I've posted my woes and troubleshooting in this forum. I've called the Creative Support line and got a generic "try another PCI slot" suggestion. Also tried the email support, got a very prompt response along with "if this doesn't solve the problem reply" note.
    Well so far nothing works. I've completed all the suggested "fixes" and have replied 4 times to the email with the results of their suggested approach and additional info/troubleshooting actions taken. Going on 2 weeks now and no reply, no additional hints.

    Detailed problem description:? Sometimes the system hangs during install of the X-Fi driver. In this case I'll boot into Safe Mode, clean up the driver residue, reboot into Vista and try again. Once I can get the driver to install the system will then hang as Vista tries to start?(during the GUI screen after the bars pass 8-9 times). With the driver installed the system will boot into Safe Mode. I will then disable the X-Fi, boot into Vista, and then re-enable the X-Fi. The system will then hang as the X-Fi tries enable.
    Thinking the X-Fi was bad I? installed it in an old DELL XP system. Works perfectly.
    I've attempted various configurations, with all of them the X-Fi behaves EXACTLY the same as described above:
    With the Realtek drivers installed, with/without the onboard audio enabled in BIOS<

  • HT1451 I am extremely frustrated with iTunes. Can you help?

    Hi. I've been a casual user of iTunes for several years. Now I'm moving and downsizing; I have to reduce a 4,000 CD collection to 1,000, and I want to put a lot of the material onto iTunes. But I'm so frustrated that I'm ready to walk away - or invest in a better alternative.
    I've looked for advice online; it refers to an edit button that I cannot find inthe version of iTunes that I downloaded the other day.
    My library is virtually all classical music and opera. I want to preserve the superior bitrate of the CDs, because sound quality is of primary importance for me. But how do I do that? Where's the edit button?
    Equally frustrating is the fact that iTunes breaks material with multiple artists into multiple "albums". What is up with that? It makes it impossible to listen to. I just transferred a three-disc opera, and ended up with a dozen different files. This is insane - but, again, there doesn't seem to be an edit button to fix it.
    Can someone help me figure this out, please? It scares the cats when I shriek at my computer, but it's getting harder to avoid losing it when all this work turns out to be a waste of time.

    The main differences between iTunes 11 and earlier versions are the loss of coverflow and ability to have multiple windows open. Other familiar features have been hidden but can be revealed...
    You can restore much of the look & feel of iTunes 10.7 with these shortcuts:
    ALT to temporarily display the menu bar
    CTRL+B to show or hide the menu bar
    CTRL+S to show or hide the sidebar
    CTRL+/ to show or hide the status bar (won't hide for me on Win XP)
    Click the magnifying glass top right and untick Search Entire Library to restore the old search behaviour
    Use View > Hide <Media Kind> in the cloud or Edit > Preferences > Store and untick Show iTunes in the cloud purchases to hide the cloud items. The second method eliminates the cloud status column (and may let iTunes start up more quickly)
    If you don't like having different coloured background & text in the Album (Grid) view use Edit > Preferences > General and untick Use custom colours for open albums, movies, etc.
    Use Edit > Preferences > Show list views for all media to do just that
    From iTunes 11.0.3 you can enable artwork in the Songs view from View > Show View Options (CTRL+J) making it more like the old Album List view
    View > Show View Options (CTRL+J) also contains options to change the sorting of grid based views

  • Is anyone else extremely frustrated with the way that Lion handles external monitors now? My internet speed is ridiculously slow as a result.

    I use only an external monitor as my set up will not allow me to use both my Macbook Pro monitor and external monitor efficiently at the same time. In the past, I would plug my MBP into into my external monitor with the lid closed, wake it up and then open the lid with no issues. It was kind of a pain in the rear but at least it worked. Now, opening the lid activates both the MBP and external monitors automatically instead of leaving the MBP monitor off.
    This is an issue because, well, look at the speed test that results from simply closing my MBP lid:
    Look at that MASSIVE drop in speed. I need to use just one monitor. Upon googling my problem, it seems to be widespread problem. At least there was a way to get around it before the screens autmatically changed...

    Support today quoted Apple's engineers as saying it is "expected behaviour" in Lion for the MBP's internal display to reactivate upon opening the lid, even if you want to use only your external display. A new version of the clamshell mode-related knowledgebase article (replacing HT3131) is due shortly confirming this.
    This is despite:
    - obvious temperature-related benefits that were achievable (under Snow Leopard) by opening your MBP lid whilst continuing to output solely to, say, a 27" cinema display
    - wifi connectivity benefits of having the lid open
    - the waste of energy and inefficient use of graphics processing power in needlessly running two active screens (ie if running your MBP in clamshell mode would otherwise make it too hot and/or noisy or you need it open for wifi)
    - negative longer-term impact on the battery and components from running the MBP hotter than it needs to be.
    For any chance of getting the previous behaviour back, we need to ask Apple to change how Lion handles clamshell mode. Options may include changing Lion's expected behaviour or adding a user-selectable option within System Preferences. Now the situation has been clarified as intentional, user feedback on this issue has become all the more important.

    In the meantime, a low strength fridge magnet placed on the inside surface along the right hand edge (perhaps above the Kensington lock slot) may serve to convince a MBP that the lid is still closed. It's not something I'd recommend or do personally, but some others are reportedly finding this helpful in the immediate short term.

  • Very frustrated with lack of customer service on rebate offer

    Back in August I upgraded my cable service with Comcast and became a new Verizon customer. I was informed of a rebate that paid back $50 on each smartphone purchased. Since I ordered the phones (iPhone 4) directly from the website and did not deal directcly with a salesman I had to call customer care to cash in on the offer. All was good and was told I would get Visa gift cards in 4-6 weeks. When I called last week to let them know nothing had been recieved, and after being on hold for 20 minutes, I was told I had to deal with Comcast. I explained it was through Veizon as it was related to the phones, they chuckled (have the customer rep's name and ID number and  I won't post it) and told me he was not aware of that offer and nothing could be done. I asked to speak to a supervisor, he said he was a supervisor. I asked to speak to his manger, he told me that is agaist policy. I asked to leave my number and the manager call me, he told me they were too busy for that.
    So for the fun of it I Goolge the rebate and guess what, first thing that pops up. When I call Verizon they tell me that offer is no longer available. So even though I met every condition listed on Verizon's own website, they won't honor the rebate because THEY had a glitch in their customer service and the cards were never sent. Been a customer for 2 months and I've already officially been *******

  • TS1368 Extremely frustrated with error message when trying to download apps and updates. HELP please!

    I have been trying to download a couple of apps and keep getting the message "cannot connect to iTunes." This is nonsense because I can access both the app store and iTunes directly. I've downloaded other items today with no problem. Now all of a sudden I'm getting this error whenever I try to download an app or update an existing one. And it doesn't help that that it practically takes an act of congress to access a human being to ask a simple question. I would very much appreciate any help I can get in resolving this issue. I have already tried rebooting my iPad and my software is up to date. Haven't tried it with my iPhone yet. Thanks.

    You can't use Safari to download iPad apps. Only use iTunes/App Store.
