Extremely slow when clicking the Specified Order - New button.

I often use the specified order option on charts to group pieces of information together. When I click the New button for a new specitied order or if I try to edit an existing specified order, it takes forever for the dialog to come up. I have experienced this problem in both Crystal 9 and 10 installed on different machines. Is there some sort of option I am missing? Maybe something that tells it to query the database. I have no idea why it would do a query at that point, it is not like I am using a select list of options from a drop down where it would need to retrieve the values. The reason this is a problem is that it takes me forever to run reports when I am asked to an add hoc report that requires this sort of customization. VERY frustrating....TIA for all help.

I'm having the exact same problem. I think what's most infuriating about this is after waiting several minutes for the "Specified Order" Tab to display, I have to wait several more minutes after I click on the New button. This happens everytime I click the New button, and I have eight groups to create.
I'm using Crystal Report XI Release 2 on Vista with 2 GB of RAM trying to access a Progress database using an ODBC connection.
Is there ANYTHING I can do to speed this up? Is it possible to use the "Formula Editor" to essentially write out the information the Group Options window is creating?

My macbook runs extremely slow when logging in after waking up from sleep, locking up and I am unable to use the keyboard. Furthermore, when just using safari to watch streaming television, my computer gets really slow, and locks up, and the dock appears blank and I sit here frustrated. Anytime i wake up my computer, my keys don't respond and I've waited at most 3 minutes untill i can type in my password. Even sometimes when i type in my password and hit enter, it takes forever to open up my mac. I have barely used any storage in my macbook, since i only use it for college, and I have run clamscan wiht no viruses showing... Any ideas?

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, or by a peripheral device.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output andWi-Fi on certain iMacs. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin. Test while in safe mode. Same problem? After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test. -

Another way of opening the home page in a new tab is to middle click on the home button in the navigation toolbar. -
Hi there. I'm having a problem with my external hard drive. Actually with only one of them (others seem to be ok...). The problem is that when clicking the right mouse button (or using other ways to do the same), in the drop-down list there isn't an option for "create new folder". Please, can anyone help with this issue?
The drive is NTFS formated. Most probably that's the reason, but there is some info on the drive which I wouldn't like to loose. If there is a way to re-format the drive and save the files, that would be great. If there isn't such a way, then please, tell me how to re-format it. But bear in mind as well that I'm using Parellels and the drive is to be used in Mac and Win modes, both. Just to add some more info: my other drive is FAT32 formated and all seems to go well with it.

0Zen X-Fi2 extremely slow when loading playlists!?I recently purchased a Zen X-Fi2 64gb. I'd been waiting for a player of this size for a few years now but Creative was behind the power curve so I temporarily switched to an Archos 80gb. After the Archos began to annoy me I ended up just going with the Zen 32gb flash based player. It works/ed great. This new Zen X-Fi2 however is unbearably slow! I don't mind quite sometime to rebuild the library once the initial sync is done but when it takes 5 minutes to load a playlist (3000+ songs) then I get upset. It takes so long to load said playlist that the player shuts off before it has time to load all the songs. I can't even just click play right away like I could on the Zen. The only way I've been able to get around it is to tap the screen twice. Once to load the playlist (which takes forever if it's more than 00 songs) and again to play once the lengthy loading process is over with. However even then it doesn't load all the songs. I've been communicating with tech support about this with no resolution in sight. All they keep telling me is how 'normal' it is for a player to load a large number of songs. My Zen which is an MTP player syncs and plays music much faster! Is there anyway to possibly upgrade this to an MTP player?

Almost 2 months on from your original post I see that you have received no reply from an administrator. Are these problems still persisting with your player? I have an X-Fi Style too and am experiencing the same problems. Like you I was hoping that firmware updates would address the problem. I don't think that the Style is a priority for Creative and unfortunately I don't see them bothering to solve these issues. Hope I'm wrong cos otherwise I love the X-Fi Style. -
I have an ipad 2 and just recently am not able to connect to home wireless wifi, the hour glass just spins when clicking the network to connect, other devices work fine and can connect. Was able to connect at school, but not here at home all of a sudden, help?

Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration. Since this feature was added to Firefox, it has gradually improved, but there still are a few glitches.
You might need to restart Firefox in order for this to take effect, so save all work first (e.g., mail you are composing, online documents you're editing, etc.).
Then perform these steps:
*Click the orange Firefox button at the top left, then select the "Options" button, or, if there is no Firefox button at the top, go to Tools > Options.
*In the Firefox options window click the ''Advanced'' tab, then select "General".
*In the settings list, you should find the ''Use hardware acceleration when available'' checkbox. Uncheck this checkbox.
*Now, restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.
Additionally, please check for updates for your graphics driver by following the steps mentioned in the following Knowledge base articles:

Encore CS5 very slow when selecting the File tab
Good morning.
This is the first I have ever experienced this. Encore CS5 is extremely slow when I try to select the file Tab. All other tabs like Edit are fine. It is also takes forever to Save anytime. I usually just use Encore for short no menu DVD's I'm building a DVD with a few sideshows and an hour of video. I haven't started the menu yet. I updated the latest from Adobe yesterday and I am current with the Window 7 64 bit updates. All other applications in the Master Suite work fine. I think my system should be enough to run Encore without any problems. Any suggestions? I'm all ears!...

Try clearing history and the cache...
From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Reset Safari
Select: Clear History (also empties the cache)
Deselect the remaning boxes then click Reset.
Quit and relaunch Safari.
See if that made a difference. -

The "bookmarks" menu is at the top of the page.
The "bookmarks" menu used to work fine.
Now when clicked, the "bookmarks" menu says, "Sign in to access your Google bookmarks."
After signing in to Google, the "bookmarks" menu still does not work, and continues to repeat the "Sign in to access your Google bookmarks."Looks like Google changed the domain for Google accounts. You'll need to edit the Google Toolbar extension to have the new URL. The alternative id for Google to update their Google Toolbar program for Firefox, but I doubt of that will happen - they have recently dropped support for Firefox. I found these instructions in another support forum.
Open up toolbar.js with a decent editor.
Find:
www.google.com/accounts
and replace ALL with:
accounts.google.com
Restart FF.
Login through the toolbar. Enjoy.
My advice is to get your bookmarks from Google and import them into Firefox itself. If you want a backup service for your bookmarks, use Firefox Sync or Xmarks instead of Google Bookmarks. -
recently bought a samsung NX30 camera which came with lightroom 5, after several hours of googling i got it setup properly with the correct camera raw to be able to access my raw images. I found my old laptop was very slow when processing the hundreds of images I usually take on a weekly basis. I bought a new faster laptop but when I looked for the cd with the software and serial I could not find it in the Xmas clutter. I downloaded a trial version of lightroom and got it working on my new laptop. Is there a way to access the serial number from my previously installed version and insert it into the trail version to make it work for me?

While i registered all my cs2 thru 6 versions and my lightroom 2 thru 4 versions and recorded the serials and saved the adobe registration emails. Since this came as a freebee with the camera i neglected this vital step. I have the instslled version on my old laptop but want to install it on my new one. Thanks to Jim Hess I got the serial so all is well in my world and I will register it with ADOBE

When trying to download an APP, it's requesting setup for answers to 3 security questions and it hangs up the iPad when clicking the drop down for the questions...any ideas?
Had to do a hard reboot on the iPad and we were able to get the questions to pop up. Now it's just slow downloading the apps.

When click the email icon on my iphone, it opens on one email only. I can not go to the next or previous email, a different email or anything. It only gives me the option to move that email! How can I stop this. Its been working perfectly well before!
Now as you may know there is some icons at the bottom of the mail app, at the top left conner you should have the inbox button and on the upper right conner you should have two arrows to shift between emails. If any of those options works try :
Settings>General>Reset>Reset all Settings
If that does not work try to re add the account
Last but not least, restore as new.
