.: Extremly wierd sound settings

? I'm runing Vista Ultimate x86 and a Soundblaster Audigy.
?Ok, i never had a problem untill now, with the sound card, or drivers, i had custom drivers, original disc drivers and updated drivers and i didn't have any issues... Untill now
?I don't know what went wrong, and what's the issue, is it hardware or software based...
?Here i go...
?I only get full 5. sound when i connect only the green (Front Speakers) into my amp...
?If i connect ALL the jacks into my amp, Rear speakers (black) jack or Sub/Center (orange) i get sound only from front speakers
?In Windows Vista Speaker configuration, i get sound when i test the speakers with all jacks connected, but if playback, ANYTHING i only get sound from front speakers, sound from the rest of the speakers is enabled only AFTER I REMOVE ALL JACKS EXCEPT GREEN ONE, i tried other cables, switching them around, cleaned installed drivers, modded drivers, original drivers, same issue! ?
I can't say when this started, but i noticed just yesterday, and since then, i tried anything, except, removing the card form the pc and cleaning it, because it's kind of hard removing my rig from under my desk... ? Am i the only one experiencing this problems?! Please help me...

Basically, it sounds a siren like tone when you dial 911, to let you know that you are dialing an Emergency number. It seems there are advantages and disadvantages, some like it and others find it useless or annoying, even dangerous in some situations.
Just FYI - I checked my settings and I have it off. Thankfully, I've never had to dial 911 on my cell phone....

Firewire ports conflict with sound settings.

Hi, Peculiar problem. My sound suddenly switched to being internal speaker only, even though I have decklink HD Extreme card and was using it as my audio output the night before. Narrowed the problem down to anything being plugged in to the firewire ports - FW400 and FW800 ports and drives or even my Mini DV deck. When I plug anything into the firewire ports, trying to get to the sound settings in system preferences hangs, and all sound will only work on the internal speaker. This is a sudden problem and leaves me only being able to plug in esata external hard drives. There is some sort of conflict going on somewhere. Can anybody help?

Airplay takes over my default sound settings

I have an iMac 27" used primarily as a recording studio source (using Cubase..similar to Logic Pro). Connected to that is an Airport Extreme and a router, My Sound card is a Universal Audio Apollo as the default audio imput and output. My wife has a Macbook Pro with an Airport Express that she uses to Skype with clients two floors down in the basement. She uses the Airport Express because she would have dropouts and disconnections) Lately after upgrading to 10.9 Mavericks, everytime she Skypes all my sound settings in (System Preferences, Audio/Midi, and Cubasesettings) revert to Airplay. How do I make this annoying workflow inhibitor go away? Thanks Donaldjon

I'm marking this as solved; it's a shame that a simple useful program like that has not been made already.
Go check out mime-types and how they're handled in Linux. Its not simple (mainly BECAUSE the big DEs have never settled on one way to do it).

I'll call you on that, that is not true at all. Perhaps if your computer is basically an extended web browser which plays videos/songs. For those of us who do a variety of work on it, the groupings are woefully inadequate.

You probably can't because it looks like your MacBook Pro is too old to carry audio over HDMI. You will need to run a separate audio cable from the audio out port on the MacBook Pro to the audio in port on the TV.

Loading sound settings in ga

I am running Windoes Xp with Audigty 2 zs. When I play games like Halo I don't get all the sound settings like environmental sound. How can I have all the sound settings turned on so I can use the card I have? Is there some settings I need to do from my sound card to turn them on or is it in the game?

Not having that problem but the only thing that comes to mind is that when the Mac is ready to read your old Sound Settings, it could be that for some reason the driver for your external sound device hasn't loaded yet, so your computer can't see it, and defaults to something else.
Now, with that said, I've got a few different M-Audio external audio devices, and have never had this particular problem.
Just out of curiosity, what device do you have? Do you have the latest driver? Past that, I'd create a 2nd user with admin privileges, log into that account, set the sound the your external device, shut down, and re-start and see if the same thing happens.
Is your external device turned ON before you start up your Mac? Could be it takes longer to initialize and isn't being seen by your Mac at the right time during the start up process.....

This might work as well and will allow drag and drop of mp3 files. This is written as if the phone is connected to the computer.
In the sd card, check if there is a folder called media. In the media folder verify or create a folder called audio. Within the audio folder create the following folders: alarms, notifications, and ringtones. These should be typed exactly as written. Copy or move the files into the folder you want them in. Disconnect the phone from the computer and let the remount the sd card. Now go into your notification or ringtones list. The files you put into the individual folders should automatically be there.
I know that this works on the Eris and I got the method back when only the eris and droid 1 was available. I just can't remember exactly where I got it. Hopefully it also works for the Droid 1.

How do i get sound from macbook internal speakers? need sound settings help

i have installed service pack 3 on bootcamp on new macbook.
i cant get any sound with all my audio applications, even windows media player. i can see the levels and audio files playing within the software (soundforge, wavelab, cubase etc) but cant get any sound to come out the macbook internal speakers........
ive tried all the available audio driver settings from within the apps.
ive checked the sound controls menu from my system tray...all the volume faders are full, unmuted.
theres a realteck or something like that, control panel......i think realtek is the internal sound funtion of my windows xp......
anyone help?
(ive updated bootamp to 2.1 with software updater..... ive intalled the bootcamp drivers from my leopard install dvd....)
shall i put the leopard dvd in again? in case the bootcamp drivers never got installed????
i just used the first leopard dvd.........should we also use the 2nd leopard dvd????? bootcamp manual just says put leopard dvd in and install bootcamp drivers.........but it dont say which leopard dvd.........

i understand latency is gonna be an issue with internal sound drivers.....any one recommend third party sound drivers for use with internal macbook?

I can find all the songs in much better quality, even on YouTube ...
I bought two other albums by Anberlin at the same time, on which the sound quality is much much better and perfectly clear.

The internal switch in the audio output port is stuck. Try inserting the earphone plug a few times. If no success, try jiggling a tooth pick inside in order to trip the switch.. If still no success, have the technicians at the Apple store genius bar do it for you.

Issues with loud sound settings over headphones.

My Ipad 2 has been having some issues with the sound settings when I put the volume up loud. When I go past a certain level there is a "popping" sound and the volume cuts out all together. If I reduce the volume this popping sound happens again and the volume comes back on.
This only happens through the headphones, and doesn't happen with the external speaker.
Have I stuffed up one of the settings? Is this an OS update issue or do I need to replace the headphone jack?
I have reset all the settings, but haven't done a complete restore yet.

Why doesn't Twitter & Facebook use the sounds you set in your sound settings?

When Twitter send a notification, its uses the Apple message sound, instead of the "Tweet" sound that is the default sound in your sound settings. For Facebook, it either sends the same Apple sound, or no sound at. Facebook is supposed to use the "Swish" sound. Does anyone know how to fix or configure that correctly? I did log in both apps through my settings instead of just using the apps.

The resource leveling command is not a resource optimization tool. It's only job is to resolve resource overallocations by delaying tasks. It will not:
Change resource assignment units to tasks.
Ensure the resource is "fully" utilized.
For example:
Resource with max units of 100% (the default).
Task A starts on 20 January until 22 January and the resource is assigned at 75%.
Task B starts on 21 January until 23 January and the resource is assigned at 50%
The resource is overallocated on Tuesday (peak = 125%) and Wednesday (peak = 125%).
Leveling produces this result:
Project did not drop the assignment to Task B to 25% to allow it to continue while Task A was going on -- it simply delayed B (at 50%) until A was scheduled to finish.

It is simply not there.

As far as I know the Realtek sound chip supports StereoMix.
But if your notebook has been equipped with the Conexant sound chip then you would not find the StereoMix anywhere.
One of my notebooks supports Realtek sound chip and Vista is running there.
In control panel -> sound -> recording I clicked right and enabled the option called Show hidden devices and Show disabled devices.
Then StereoMix appeared in my sound settings.
But as said above, this is supported only by Realtek sound chip

[Flash CS6] Understanding odd animation disparities relating to sound settings?

Hello. This is related to something that I am currently experiencing whilst working in Flash Pro CS6. I hope this is the right forum for this; it's labelled CC but there does not appear to be a separate discussion space for older versions of flash.
I'm relatively new to the software in terms of experience, and was wondering about some odd behavior I've been seeing, wherein qualities in the animation differ with respect to my sound settings. This isn't a problem that needs fixing, per-se, as it's mostly just down to timing issues, but I would like to understand this behavior so that I know what to expect in the future.
I have a fairly complex flash animation with multiple scenes, some actionscript-controlled objects and musical accompaniment. This music runs throughout the entire animation, and the animation is synchronized loosely with the music. Oddly, I have recently noticed that, depending on the settings which I choose to apply to this music track, the visual component of the animation behaves differently. I should add that, in the flash editor, my music and animation are synchronized perfectly.
If I set the music to "Stream", and render as a flash file, then several sections of the animation lag horribly. The synchronization between music and animation remains exact, but I see horrible jerky movement on screen. If I set the music as an "Event" sound and then render, however, not only is the music (understandably) much better quality but this lag disappears. However, for some reason, on one particular scene of the animation, where the lag during "streaming" is most severe, the sequence of timeline events appears to slow down with respect to the music. You must understand that this scene is contained within it's own movie clip, placed directly onto the timeline with only a few fade transition objects on the layers over it. The content within this movie clip plays entirely lag free and at the correct speed, as does the rest of the flash, but the scene/movie clip remains on the screen for far longer than previously with respect to the music, despite it being synchronized perfectly on the timeline. The fade transition events on the layers above the movie clip also occur later than they are scheduled, as if the "scrolling line" on the timeline were moving more slowly over the movie clip, despite the apparent lack of lag.
Of course, I can solve these problems by setting the sound as an event sound whenever I export to a flash file, and reducing the length of the scene manually until it lines up with the music in the render. However, I would like to better understand how my sound settings are affecting animation lag and timings. Presumably setting the sound as an "event" pre-loads it before the flash - is this also causing the rest of the flash to pre-load, hence removing the lag? Will this increase the time that my exported animation takes to load in it's preloader screen? Why are the timings affected by setting the sound to "Event", especially seeing as there is no visual lag or jerkiness and it only occurs when playing this one movie clip?
Any answers to these questions would be most welcome.
