Eye One Display 2 + CG241W and Macbook Pro

I have a Macbook Pro C2D and my external display is a EIZO CG241W. On both of these screens, my blues are pretty much purple. Does anyone have this problem? I've tried the Eye One Match software aswell as Colornavigator and I have still have this problem.

this turns purple when opened in safari..purple skies
Anyone know whats goin on?

that's a blue net on mine
when you calibrate, do you have the option in system prefs to "reduce brightness before display sleeep" turned OFF? if not, that can play havoc with profile creation
i've not used the eye one calibrator, what colour temperature and gamma are you selecting? with mine I use the native white point and gamma 2.2
if the generic apple "color lcd" profile is giving better colour than your generated profiles then i'd say you've got a problem with your calibration setup or workflow

the very first density wedge on the 'contrast' page is blue, so if you see purple here you need to start defaulting/reverting settings

  • Pantone eye-one Display 2 monitor calibration software - auto starting

    Hi,
I just calibrated my monitor using Pantone's eye-one Display 2 hardware and software (3.6.1). Now, when I login, the eye-one match software icon appears in the dock, bounces a few times, then disappears.
The software instructions made no mention of this. What is it doing? Can I stop it? Just as a matter of principle, I really don't like programs starting themselves and doing unknown things.
    Thanks!

The x-rite i1 display 2 won't work with any LCD lit panels. I've attended a x-rite training only six weeks ago and the guy explained the issues. So if you want to calibrate any LCD backlit screen, you have to get a more expensive thing -- maybe the Colormunki will do, but for sure the i1Pro will work. It's still a quite expensive upgrade.

  • Spyder pro, spyder elite or eye one display 2

    hello folks,
i have a macbook pro5,3 with the glossy screen and editing with Aperture 3. i'm wondering which brand works best for the macbook pro or the most "mac friendly". i'm willing to spend the $200 for either the spyder elite or the eye one display 2 but don't know which is the most user friendly for the macbook pro. of course if i can get away with the cheaper spyder 3 pro for my needs then so be it.
i'm quite the amateur and most of my editing is on my spare time (which i don't have a lot of) and lots of my pics are experimental like landscapes, macros, etc as well as 1000's of shots of my 6mo old daughter .
but i would like to have at least a good starting point until i get more experience and go for an external monitor. not going for the most precise at the moment but something that will be quick and simple for a newbie so i can have a more truer display than the default settings.
also, does apple do a good job with prints?
    thanks

  • Calibration issues with 23" display and Macbook Pro 13".

    Hi All,
I'm a photographer and link my Macbook Pro to a 23" display in order to edit my work.
I have calibrated both displays with a gretagmacbeth eye-one display 2, however, despite this, when I move images between screens they change considerably, most noticeably the values of reds. I appreciate the laptop display is never going to be as bright as the stand alone, but am I asking too much for the colours to be the same?
I look forward to receiving any suggestions from those who've had similar experience, or those who are experts in the this field.
    Thank you in advance!

    Hi!
Well for me theres 2 types of click,
    1. one when u click and sounds (this one is pressing harder the trackpad)
    2. another is softer when just need to put ur finger over the trackpad.
i use more the second one, thats why i say i rarely use the first one.
    Thanks for answering

  • How do I share a Thunderbolt display between a 2011 MacBook Pro and 2011 MacMini?

I'd like to share a Thunderbolt display with my MacMini and MacBook Pro.  The MacBook would presumably be connected periodically via the Thunderbolt / power cable from the display.  Can I connect the MacMini via the Thunderbolt port on the back of the display?

Noooooo... The statement you have as a correct answer is INCORRECT!!!  I'm not sure where Smudge got that idea originally from, but it is NOT the case.
@ericfromoak ridge:   PLEASE Remove that as correct so that other users don't read and believe that!!!
Basically, if it's a Thunderbolt port... it contains both the PCIe (data) and DisplayPort (video) information.
Just from the Apple website alone it shows otherwise...
    http://www.apple.com/displays/
In their example (from apple page), it shows (1) MBPro connected to the first TB display (via built-in cable... you can see this because it is the combo-cable with both the TB plug and power cable).  Then the 2nd TB display is connected into the back of the 1st display.  There-by "Daisy Chaining" and also showing that TB devices can plug in and work in any order... and that VIDEO (along with data) is still passing thru (bi-directionally) via the backport.  No Difference.

In regards to your original question...
    - Do BOTH of your machines (your MacMini & MBPro) have Thunderbolt capabilities?  If either one or both don't have TB on the computer, you will Not be to run the scenario you are trying.

  • Apple Aluminum Keyboard and 23" cinema Display and MacBook Pro??

    Hello there
I have just purchased an Apple Aluminum Keyboard and have and MacBook Pro with and 23" cinema display, and if i try to connect the keyboard to my cinema display via USB the keyboard don't work.
i have an Apple mighty mouse that works fine wen connected to the USB port on the display...
    why is it not working...

have you tried a different USB port on the ACD? Maybe the one you used was defective? I run a 7-port bus off one of the USB ports for all my hardware. OTOH, I do use bluetooth mouse and keyboard!

  • Sound Switches Between Thunderbolt Display and MacBook Pro

I have an Apple Thunderbolt display and MacBook Pro set-up with dual screens. I have an iPhone plugged into a dock that runs to the display. When I have music playing out of the display and I disconnect my iPhone, it switches the sound to the MacBook Pro.
    1. How do I stop this from happening?
    2. If I can't stop it from happening, how do I move the sound from the MacBook Pro back to the display?
There doesn't seem to be any options within Preferences/Sound to change it back.
    Thank you.

I've a Spyder4Elite that I use on both my Thunderbolt Display and on my MBP - and, while both are calibrated, they don't - and cannot - 'match' one another, no matter how hard I try.
I suspect that you're running up against the same wall? Different technologies in different displays. I doubt that you'll ever get a perfect match: mine are just 'good enough'.

  • FCP 7.0.3 and MacBook Pro Retina Display

I am a videographer, I shoot on DSLR and edit with FCP 7.0.3.
I have recently got a brand new Pro Retina Display Macbook Pro.
I installed my software, including - FCP7 via migration - I had to do this as there is no DVD drive in the macbook pro - it was installed - from my old Mac Book (black 2008)
FCP 7.0.3 is not opening? It gets to the loading page and goes as far as the top tool bar showing up - but will not open so that I can actually use it.
I got this mac to edit on the fly and take my jobs away with me and do not want to use Final Cut X - I am used to and very happy with FCP 7 interface and operating and don't have the time to learn to use other editing software - does anyone know how I can get the my FCP 7 software working on my brand new machine?

  • What can one do with Bluetooth between MacBook Pro and iPhone?

    Hello,
I tried enabling Bluetooth on my MacBook Pro and iPhone, thinking I could file transfer some photographs. It seems not to work; after trying to "browse the device" it effectively 'times out' (as if it's a neverending 'loading' wait icon). I saw some other threads here, "I can't sync/connect my iPhone and iMac!" with various replies, like "you sync [Calendar agenda] via MobileMe, not via Bluetooth."
What does one do with Bluetooth? Can't I send files wirelessly from my phone to my laptop? If not, why not? If so, why is the connection wait interminable? I have enabled File Sharing and Bluetooth Sharing on my laptop, but see no direct means to do so in my phone's settings -- must this be done through iTunes? Do I need to configure something further before I can send files?
I have iPhone 3G Version 4.2.10 (last I checked -- still waiting to install an update) and Macbook Pro Mac OS X (10.6.8).
    Thanks for your time!

"I tried enabling Bluetooth on my MacBook Pro and iPhone, thinking I could file transfer some photographs."
This is not a feature of iphone.  Never has been.
Other than tethering for internet, where provided by the carrier, you cannot connect to a computer/device/phone and do anything.
Bluetooth is for handsfree telephone devices/headsets, stereo speakers/headsets, some keyboards, some peer to peer apps from the app store and tethering where provided by the carrier.

  • My iMac and MacBook Pro have stopped being able to find one another.

I have been sharing files between my iMac and MacBook Pro.  Recently they have stopped being able to detect one another.  When I look in the sidebar of the Finder window, neither computer shows the other.  I have file sharing enabled for both computers.  This is a recent problem, and I'm not sure what has changed.  I may have updated software - but don't remember what or when, as I tend to automatically do so when an update becomes available.  I would appreciate any help that you can give.
    Thanks,
    Linda

    Eric,
Thank you.  I had all my settings right - I had checked and double checked.  The one thing I had failed to do - which is the one thing that often helps - is to shut everything down and restart.  I shut the router and the computers down and restarted them one at a time.  They are once more talking to each other.
    Thank you again,
    Linda

  • AirDrop transfer between Mac mini (late 2012) and MacBook Pro (late 2008) works only one way.

AirDrop transfer between Mac mini (late 2012) and MacBook Pro (late 2008) works only one way.  I see both machines on both airdrop windows. Firewalls on both machines are set exactly the same way, and with Network Browser set to allow.  Can send a file from Mac mini to MacBook, but not the other way.  Never get a window asking to accept on the Mac mini.
Found no useful documentation on AirDrop anywhere in the whole support site.

Maybe this will work. From an Apple support article.
You can also use the Share button to send files to your neighbors via AirDrop. In a Finder window, select the item you want to share, and then click the Share button in the toolbar. For more information about the Share button, see this help topic:

  • IPhone and MacBook Pro but only have one Apple account

Brand new to the MacBook Pro world.  First Apple laptop (or Apple computer at all for that matter) so of course I have some questions. I think I am correct in saying that basically each Apple device has to be separate and apart from another even if they reside in the same household.  Meaning that each one has to be logged on to a separate and unique Apple account and email address for things like Facetime and iMessage to work properly. So, with that said......If I personally own the iPhone and MacBook Pro but only have one Apple account how can I make them both work separately and independent of each other??? The problem I've noticed is that Facetime and iMessage do not work and conflict with each of the two devices.

    Hi BigDisMe,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
Congratulations, and welcome to the Mac World. Actually, you can use an Apple ID, together with iCloud to make your devices work together. Both devices can be connected to the same Apple ID, and use Facetime, Messages, and email together.
As long as both of your devices are updated to the latest OS, OS X 10.9 Mavericks for your MacBook and iOS 7.0.4 for your iPhone, you can:
    On Mac:
         1. Open System Preferences-iCloud
         2. There should be a button somewhere that says, "Add Account".
         3. Use your Apple ID to log in.
         4. Make sure to enable your Messages, Facetime, and email accounts.
         5. There is no Step 5.
    On iPhone:
         1. Open Settings-iCloud.
         2. There should be a button somewhere that says, "Add Account".
         3. Use your Apple ID to log in.
         4. Make sure to enable your Messages, Facetime, and email accounts.
         5. There is no Step 5.
    Good Luck,

  • X-rite eye-one display 2 monitor calibration and new 27' iMac

    Hi,
I have been looking at the new 27" iMac to replace a 24" iMac Intel core 2 duo that I purchased last spring. The main problem being that I am a photographer/graphic designer and found out after I purchased this iMac that my x-rite eye-one display 2 monitor calibration system was rendered useless because the monitor brightness was way out of range (too bright) for the calibration software to work correctly.
My question is: Has anyone tried to use the x-rite eye-one display 2 with the new iMac 27" monitor? I understand that they may have fixed the monitor brightness problem, but now the new screen is lit by LED instead of LCD. Has this just presented a NEW problem that makes this color calibration system still useless or does it work despite the fact that the monitor light source has changed?
Thanks in advance for any info you can provide
