Eyedropper tool isnt available in CC, where did it go?

I cant seem to find the eyedropper tool in my toolbar, how do i get it back?

You probably have the Measure tool showing instead. Click and hold on that for a moment to reveal the eyedropper.

  • Where did my hard drive available space go?

I partitioned my hard drive to for bootcamp last week (100GB) and then decided that I didn't want it anymore, so I attempted to remove the partition.  Now, whenever I start my computer it seems boot to an empty partition - I just get a black screen that tells me to insert a disk (or something of that sort).  For some reason that is the default - I have to hold the "option" key to be able to boot up to my Mac side.  It looks like I need to change the defaulty boot disk - I could do this on a PC, but don't know how to on a Mac.
My biggest problem, however, is that even though I got rid of the second partition, I haven't seemed to get back the 100GB.  When I go into the Disk Utility it shows that I have 499.76GB Capacity, but only 359.3GB Available and 39.7GB Used.  (I am assuming that Capacity = Available + Used, other at least close to) Where did the other 100GB go and how can I get it back?
    Thanks in advance,
    Mike

    Hi entresoft,
I am not sure how to do this. I am not a very literate computer person but have a vague idea of what you are suggesting.
If I do manage to figure out how to do what you have suggested will this restore my iPhoto Library and I assume maybe other files?
    Thanks!

  • The eyedropper tool does not work with a hue saturation adjustment layer

I am using PS CC 2014, and the problem I am having is that when I want to use the eyedropper tool to adjust the colour range affected by a Hue/Saturation adjustment layer, rather than selecting the colour in the Properties window for the adjustment layer, use of the eyedropper closes the properties window and changes the foreground colour in my palette.
Here's the real hitch... the same thing happened to me at school last night where a) the Mac's are older and b) CS6 is still used.
It's something with my user settings, to be sure, because the prof logged into his account on the Mac I was using in class to test it out, and it worked for him; we logged back into my account and it still did not work for mine.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks for any insights.

Indeed Trevor, that did solve the problem. Clearly it was something I changed... wish I knew what. But, I have a list of all the settings changes I made before, so I can figure it out by making one at a time then checking...

  • Eyedropper tool for Defringe?

While searching for instructions on how to use the new Defringe controls, I came across mention of a an eyedropper tool in this Lightoom Journal blog - New Color Fringe Correction Controls http://blogs.adobe.com/lightroomjournal/2012/04/new-color-fringe-correction-controls.html
I cannot find an eyedropper tool on the panel. The blog is dated April 25 - so I assume the eyedropper tool did not make into ACR 7.1. Is that correct?
The blog does explain the Defringe controls - but the image examples provided show the results of using the controls, not the actual settings used to achieve the results. Would like to find more instructions.
    The eyedropper sounds useful
    Description of Eyedropper Tool
The 4 global Defringe controls above are powerful, but new users may find them tricky to learn. For this reason, there is an “eyedropper”tool so that users can click directly on the image to help set the appropriate parameters.
Using the eyedropper for Defringe is similar to using the eyedropper to using the White Balance selection eyedropper: when you’re in the LensCorrections -> Color tab (so that the Defringe controls are visible), select the eyedropper and click on a fringe in the image. It helps to be zoomed in (e.g., 200% or even 400%) to facilitate accurate color picking.
Clicking on a pixel will cause the Defringe system to perform a local analysis of the pixels in the neighborhood, resulting in one of the following 3 outcomes:
It determines that you clicked on a purple fringe, and it automatically adjusts both the Purple Amount and Purple Hue sliders.
It determines that you clicked on a green fringe, and it automatically adjusts both the Green Amount and Green Hue sliders.
It determines that you clicked on an area that was too neutral or outside the supported color range (e.g., all white or gray area or an orange color) and reports an error message.
While moving the eyedropper tool over the image, you will see the eyedropper icon change to purple or green and the Purple Hue or Green Hue slider highlighting. This shows approximately what hue you’re currently targeting, and which of the two fringe colors (purple or green) would be adjusted if you were to click.

Thank you CameraAnn. I could not find this solution - where did you find it?  Not an obvious solution. BTW you do not have to be in PV 2012 - the eyedropper trick works in PV 2010.
Eric Chan described this in some notes which he posted earlier. I don't remember exactly where but possibly in either the Lightroom or Photoshop CS6 Public Beta Forums.
I do agree with you about the Missing Manuals and am a little surprised that at least a set of preliminary PDFs could not have been posted on the day that the CS6 Suites shipped. Having to wait a month for the CS6 Manuals when so much is new in this version is not making things very easy for Adobe's customers.

  • My illustrator cs5 eyedropper tool will not pick up any color! help!

I have been scrolling through this forum and google, and have not found an answer.
My Illustrator CS5 has been working all day, and I went away from it momentarily to pack some boxes for moving and the eye dropper tool started picking up colors that didn't exist in the placed image i'm grabbing from.
(clearly not black within that circle...)
I "found" a solution on this site where you go into your eyedropper options and make sure your appearance boxes are checked, and they weren't so I did that, and now the eyedropper tool won't pick up any color at all.
I have a project deadlines that require this program, and i've tried just about everything but re-installing.
    Anybody have ANY solutions?
Here are the way my settings are now:
P.s. I'm not crazy tech saavy, so go explanation crazy if you'd like.

It's not live traced just vectored with the pencil tool!
I was trying to grab the individual pixel color from a jpeg, cmyk image to apply to the shapes drawn with the pencil tool.
I'm not sure what the problem was with the tool/program, but it seems to have fixed itself!
However, I appreciate your response anyways!

  • Why you gave my trial period of creative Cloud ,  if isnt available for my country?

i am on trial period of creative cloud service, and today i decided to subscribe but the surprise was that isnt available for my country,  why you offered me this trial if i cant subscribe with it,  i tried to change my address, but also not available, and also created new account but again another frustrations you did accept my visa and paypal isnt acceptable,  am very frustrated,  i want this service and i am willing to pay for it,
    FIND US A SOLUTION..

Adobe has heavily pirated products and to detect and combat this, Adobe ties a particular user login and registrations to a country and probably requires payment from that country as well.
I suspect the reason that PayPal is only accepted in the US is because PayPal doesn't provide country information for Adobe to validate where the payments are from so Adobe has to assume PayPal is from US customers, and if you're not a US customer you can't use PayPal.
As far as a particular credit card (CC) not being accepted or freelancers not having credit cards, I would think some CCs would be accepted by whatever payments servicer Adobe uses in particular markets but not all CCs because of the fraud rating of their network or particular rules the CC requires merchants to follow, and while free-lancers may not have a credit rating that allows them to hold a credit card, they likely have a bank account, and banks issue debit cards that are accepted in place of credit cards.
Furthermore, there are ways to buy a CC pre-paid subscription for a single payment for 3 months or a year at a time, from third-party resellers, though I'm not sure what countries they are for, but Amazon is one of those resellers:

  • Where did the Stream 7 drivers go?

The support page for downloading drivers for the HP Stream 7 tablet (any model) has disappeared from the HP website.
Navigating to the HP Stream 7 support page, Selecting "Software and Drivers", then "Go directly to software and drivers page", Operating System "Windows", then Version "Windows 8.1" (the only choices), then clicking the Update button, gives a message "No software or drivers are available for this product with the selected operating system. Please make a different selection, or visit the product homepage. " This happens using Firefox, IE 11, or Chrome.
These drivers have been missing for at least a few weeks, and multiple forum users have also had no luck finding them. Before that time the drivers seemed to come and go randomly, but they've stayed missing now for weeks.  One dorum user has posted direct FTP links to the drivers, and they might be the latest version, but not really sure.
Where did the drivers go, HP?

This is for the 5701 as of a few days ago.

  • I can no longer find Software Update on my laptop.  Running 10.10.1.  What happened to it?  Where did it go?

I am running 10.10.1 MacBook Pro (Retina,15-inch, Late 2013) w/ 2 GHz Intel Core i7, and can no longer find Software Update on my laptop.  It is not in the menu under the Apple logo.  It canot be found in the applications list through Preferences.
Can someone please explain what happened to it?
    Where did it go?
    Why?
    Thank you!
    Storm Petrol

The Software Update item in the Apple menu has been REPLACED by the App Store. It is still present in the system if you go to About This Mac, where you will see "Software Update..." as one of the buttons in the Overview section of the information window that appears. The difference here is that the App Store menu option will only launch the App Store's main landing page, whereas the Software Update button will launch the store and then check for any system and other updates available.

  • Where did the recent history dropdown go??

The very convenient recent history drop-down, you know next to the forward/back arrows upper left, is nowhere to be found in the newer Firefox versions. Can I get it back? Can I go back to 3.5 and use it??

yup me too, where did it go and how do i get it back, i have been very unimpressed with the recent update to make things 'better' or to see how many people actually use the tool's where you put them. your latest update seems more like a survey to see how many people venture beyond the mouse and see the qwerty thing. c'mon firefox be all that you can be!! its not hard to be better than microsoft just look and apple.

  • Where did the simple CSS view go?

Until recently I could hit OPTION+SHIFT+Y in Firefox (desktop for Mac) and I'd be able to quickly view a webpage's CSS rules. I can't any longer. I'm not sure but I think this was a built-in tool from Firefox. Did this get dropped? Or moved? Where did this go?

Unfortunately, that doesn't match any of the shortcuts for the built-in developer tools on this page, but maybe you can find an updated shortcut: https://developer.mozilla.org/docs/Tools/Keyboard_shortcuts
If not, could it have been a feature of Firebug (or another add-on)?

  • Where did my note go?

I had a note on my iPhone 4S. After I did a sync with iTunes, one note disappeared. Originally I had 3 notes, now there are only 2. I am not using iCloud simply because I don't know how. On my iPhone the iCloud says that for notes, it's on. I am using Windows 7 and Windows Mail. When i go to iCloud in the Windows control panel, it says that I have 1.4Gigs in a backup, but I have no idea how to access it. When I go to iCloud.com, there is nothing there, I have 5 Gigs available to me.
Where did my note go and how can I retrieve it?

i think i did. i'm totally new to the iphone so i'm probably doing something wrong (and not the phone's fault)
hmmm, i just plugged my iphone into my imac to charge/sync it, and saw my current note vanish into the top left hand corner. so if syncing deletes the note - where does it go?
and how can i stop this from happening? surely must be a way...
    thanks!

  • Red eye tool not available

I'm using iPhoto 4.0.3 on my G5. When I open iPhoto the enhance tool and retouch tool are available, but the red eye tool is grey and is not able to be activated by clicking on it. How can I make the red eye tool work?

Have you tried making a selection of the area that needs the red-eye correction? iPhoto is good, but it really has no way to tell where (or even, whether) eyes are depicted in an image, Slap a marquis around the carnation in a photo depicting nothing but a flower arrangement, and it will gladly remove the red.

    Hello there,
After the 6.1.3 download, my iphone 4s has no itunes and a new hard-of-hearing blue screen SIRI after the 6.1.3 download. Where did the itunes app go? How do i get it back? And how can i switch back to the old gray SIRI?

    lost and confused

    Hello there, tonjay82.
There are some great sources of information in the following article that might help you in resolving the issue at hand:
    iOS: Understanding Restrictions
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4213
Particularly of note is the following:
You can enable and adjust Restrictions, or Parental Controls, on your device to prevent access to specific features or content on the device. Locate these settings by tapping Settings > General > Restrictions.
            and
    Additional Information
If your iOS device is missing a particular application or if a certain feature is not available, ensure that Restrictions are not enabled. Symptoms can include:
App missing from the Home screen (Safari, Camera, or YouTube for example)
Feature or service unavailable (Siri, Location Services, and so on)
Setting missing or grayed out (such as Mail, Contacts, and Calendar; iCloud; Twitter; FaceTime)
Important: Restrictions can also be enabled or enforced using a profile (typically installed when using the device for business or education purposes). You can check for installed profiles in Settings > General > Profiles.
Thank you for reaching out to us at Apple Communities on this issue.
    Cheers,
    Pedro D.

  • No longer have my photos in iCloud. Where did they go? From iphone5--checked and photo stream

No longer have my photos in iCloud. Where did they go? From iphone5--checked and photo stream is turned on.

    goa1889 wrote:
In icloud? Didn't realize there was a time limit for my icloud storage.
Photostream is separate from iCloud backups.  Were the photos part of the backup, or only part of Photostream?
If they were part of the backup, then restore your device from the iCloud backup.
If they were only part of Photostream, then that is, again, temporary storage, for up to 30 days.  After 30 days, the photos may or may not be available.
