F 3.6.10 is loading too slow, also it's slow changing webpages. Is there a fix?

It takes about a minute to load, and about 30 sec to change websites. this happens on all websites all the time. This happened with previous version before upgrading to 3.6.10, but now its worse.

i hate so say it, but the more add-ons you install on your Firefox, the more bloated it becomes, and the slower it starts...
i have to say that Firefox desperately needs to reach the speeds of Opera or Maxthon or Chrome, its really frustrating to wait for 5+ seconds for your Firefox to start, by that time i can view all i need with Chrome
so i suggest you guys try working this problem out, its the one first thing holding me back, second is the amount of space the interface takes (3.x)

  • Video loading too slow

    Hi,
I've added some video to my Captivate7 module. The video loads too slow, so by the time it comes on the timeline has already past all the vital parts.
The module was generated in SWF, which is what is required by my customer.
    Any advice?
    Thanks,
    Jake

Reduce the size of the video, or increase the size of your end user's bandwidth.

  • Iwork documents loading too slow local wifi without internet

Our school has a few ssid for local wifi and I am using my ipad for mirroring with apple tv and my ssid has no internet connection. When I try to open any iwork document it is loading too slow. If I turn off wifi or if I connect internet, it is faster.

It is perfectly normal on wifi networks that have smart content filtering. School network, while not slow by itself, has special filtering programs that check your downloads for specific words, sites, images and slow down your connection by doing that.

  • Flash website I created is loading too slow and don't know how to put in preloader.

I have 4 swf files.  The index.html page is a flash swf that I renamed to index.html in order for it to the be first page to come out.
I have googled how to add a preloader but it's all too confusing, and I'm not sure if I should add it to the first swf that I renamed index.html.
The website that I created for the company is loading way too slow.
    I've deleted unused files.
I've compressed the images the best way I could.
I cannot change the images, because it's the whole purpose of the design.
Any other options of loading this website any faster other than changing the design, and putting it into Dreamweaver?
And where do I add the preloader after I made it? The first fla file?
    Thanks.

If by "converted" you mean that you've converted the trailer to a normal project using the menu option File>Convert to Project, then YES it is still possible to edit the Credits Title.
In the converted project, double-click on the blue Title bar that sits above the background clip. In the Viewer, double-click on the text you wish to change (or highlight text by dragging over it). Now you can replace the highlighted text by typing in the new text. You can also change fonts and font colours.
It's always good practice to duplicate the Trailer before converting it. To do this, while in Project Library view, click on the Trailer name in the Library then select File>Duplicate Project. A copy will appear in the Library with the same name as the Trailer, but with the number 1 appended. You can rename this copy as desired. Now, convert the duplicate to a standard project and continue with your editing as required. You now have the original Trailer in template form (which can be further edited), and can duplicate it again if required.

EDIT: Regarding my first sentence - just noticed that you did mention "converting it to a project" in you topic header. Sorry!

  • Slow file drag: is there a fix?

Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum, but use Macs since 2008. I recently updated from OSX Snow Leopard to Lion, and dragging files became unbearably slow. I always moved large files and folders with several files without any problems in SL, but in Lion this is really painful. Just to make it clear, I'm doing things the same way I always did; the only thing that changed is the OS. File dragging became slow in all situations, including from folder to folder, and from my Mac to an external HDD (both via firewire and USB). Why did file dragging become so slow? Is there a fix to this bug? Thank you very much.

Resetting the SMC will likely not have much effect here. If your memory is running low then try quitting some applications until the green component of the pie chart in that window gets larger. A good way to do this is just restart and keep your applications closed, and then see if the slow dragging behavior still occurs.
A couple of options that may help besides freeing memory (or getting more RAM to accommodate your increased memory use), is to use Disk Utility to test the disk for errors. Run a disk verification routine when you have selected the boot volume, and then repeat this when you have selected the boot drive (the device above the boot volume name). If you see any errors then reboot to the Lion recovery partition (restart with Command-R pressed), and perform the fix routines.

  • Wordpress site loading too slow

    Hi,
We're having trouble getting our site to load quickly. We’re still in the design process, but have been experiencing slow loads from the start. Our site is http://boltontechnology.com/newsite/
We've installed the W3 Total Cache plugin and configured it as directed. This did speed up cached pages but initial loads are still way too long.
In speaking to our themes support team, the load issue seems to be coming from our hosting environment.
Also, through further investigation, it’s been suggested to ask if Minify will help. Can it be used on our site?
Finally, we’re pretty new to this and would benefit greatly if we could have someone from Azure walk us through this process. Is that possible?
    Thank you

  • Website is loading too slow

I recently published a site to mac and it is working fine on my computer when i view it. However, when i try to load my site on other computers, it takes 20-30 seconds to load. We have already gone in and downsized all of our pictures. they are on the smallest settings that they can be. What can i do to make my page load faster?

Its difficult to tell what the problem is without you sending in the URL of a page that is giving you problems. If you have a lot of photos on a page it will take time to download. What I think is a lot, some think is little.
iWeb also converts text into images in certain situations. This also effects download speed.
The .Mac server can be slow and unresponsive.
The one thing you can do is to optimize your files before uploading. This will produce a noticeable difference but you have to publish to a folder first, run the optimizer and then upload your files to .Mac or your server by FTP.
The application that I use for this optimizes and uploads. It also optimizes JPEGS. Look here...
    http://www.tonbrand.nl/
Although I do use .Mac for testing, I then upload to a commercial hosting service for speed and reliability. I use this hosting service...
    http://www.hostexcellence.com/index.php/v2/pages.dspmain
I have just rebuilt my personal site in iWeb '08 and it is at.....
    http://web.mac.com/roddymckay/RoddyMcKay/PlanetRoddy.html on .Mac and...
    http://roddymckay.com/PlanetRoddy.html on Host Excellence.
This will give you a comparison of an unoptimized versus optimized site - and the chance to spot all my mistakes!

  • Java applet loads too slow.

I was wondering if there is anyway to remedy this situation:
I am using TextPad to write my java code/html code. when i send my HTML code to Internet Explorer to view my applet, it takes several seconds to load. Even while looking at other java applets, it takes a while. Is there anything I can do to speed that up?

    Yeah....thats not much help.
I have a slower comp that can run java applets with no lag.
    Anyone else have a solution?

  • Page Loads Too Slow

The login page 1 in my application branches to page 2, which is the front page for the portal. The front page presents the user with a choice of links to different sub level front pages in the application e.g Data p100, Analysis p200, Reporting p300. The link to the page required would be something like Analysis
The problem I have is that the page load time is too long .. over 4 minutes.
Any ideas on how I could tweak this please?

    Scott,
    Thanks for your reply.
I have recreated my application in my OTN HTMLDB workspace and I don't experience this issue. The page links load in under 1 second.
I can thus assume that the issue is specific to my environment.
What further steps to further narrow down my problem could you suggest?
Is this issue for instance, more likely to be with the front end HTMLDB environ, or the back end database where it is installed?
    Thanks
    Kezie

  • TS3408 Safari, loading too slow or partially only

Its becoming very frustrating, since it's ALL the time, that either it's only a partial loading of the page.
Also I've noticed that even when I type, the text is delayed on the screen.
    Anyone experiencing the same?
Or any suggestions on how to fix it??
    Thanks!!

Make sure you have the latest version of the operating system. I had the same miss you once I upgraded to Mac OS XSafari work like a charm.

  • Slow loading and slow scrolling webpages.

The pages in safari and Firefox are loading and scrolling down and up very slow, this was not like this yesterday or ever before, why is this?

Check Activity Monitor (located in Applications -> Utilities) to see what other processes are using up the cpu. If both browsers are slow, it sounds like something else is using the cpu.

  • IPhone 4 keyboard freeze, runs slow and crashes - is there a fix?

Not been able to use my iPhone 4 for over a week now originally due to the screen freezing on "enter passcode" page. The probelm has escalated to keyboard and generally unable to use the handset in any reliable way. Please point me in the right direction to fixing this.
    Symptoms and log of activities in chronological order;
    - the arrow freezes when "slide to unlock". This would persist over a period of time (a day to 7-8 days), first incident around April. After many manual resets, able to access without the arrow freezing. Observed that this kept happening after the iPhone has been switched off.
    - the above problem returned last week after the device was switched off then back on. This time, the arrow freezed for 15-30 seconds then "enter passcode" page appeared. The keyboard that appears is unresponsive so nothing happens when you press the buttons. The text entry cursor does not blink. iPhone eventually crashes with a spinning loading sign on freeze.
    - cannot switch off phone, unless with hard reset by holding the home + on/off buttons. - the same issue returns immediately.
    - restoring iPhone (first time) - required to update to IOS 5.1.1. Still the problem persists
    - appointment with Genius bar - explained the problem. Does not take a look at the handset once but offers a replacement at a cost.
    - Suspect it might be a glitch rather than a hardware damage (it's only under 8 months old) so attempts another restore. This time, set up/configure screen comes up on the device. Chooses not to set passcode. Screen is responsive, able to choose launguage, country etc... Hope returns, it actually seems to be working. Slide to unlock, takes 15-30 seconds but does unlock. Able to open and delete emails and SMS texts. Apps such as facebook seems to be working although generally everything is slow.
    - HOWEVER, keyboard across all apps unresponsive and text entry cursor does not blink. The apps crashes then returns to home screen.
    - Deleted emoji international keyboard in the hope that the keyboard problem would go away.
    - After a number of crashes, the screen is black. The Backlight of the screen is on but unable to switch off or do hard reset.
From deduction, the problem seems to be with the keyboard across all apps.
Has anyone had similar problems and did you find any fixes?
I really don't want to have to pay for another replacement so please please, do share your knowledge. Thank you

    Hi linkslice,
Funny you say that... the iPhone's audio out was playing up, not recognising the headphone. I switched the iPhone off to shine some light down it to see if something had gone down it and that's how the problem of rebooting itself started.
I took it into Apple store yesterday to the Genius bar and they carried out a few tests. They suspected it to be a software issue but the diagnostic returned clean so uploaded new firmware. The problem still persisted so they had to look inside. He returned 10 mins later with the following results; all looked fine on the inside, once put back together, the screen was not responsive and rebooting continuously. They couldn't figure out what was wrong with it so I've now got a replacement handset which is working fine after a restore from backup.
I suggest you take it into the store to have it looked at. Let us know if there was a solution to yours.
    Thanks all for your help.

  • Really slow performance ..Is there a fix?

I'm running Vista Ultimate SP2 32 bit on a very clean, well maintained machine where I run PC tools Registry Mechanic weekly and with every install. I have a Dell desktop with:
    1. Intel (R) Pentium (R) 4 CPU 3.00 Ghz
    2. 4 GB RAM
    3. ATA disk drive with 55GB free space
I am very disappointed at how long this program takes to load with an average 2-3 minutes to get it into edit mode with a very small project. The rendering process , that seems to take place all the time,  is also agonizingly slow. Are there preference settings that might make it run more quickly? I downloaded and installed Elements from Adobe 3 days ago so I'm assuming that I have all of the latest updates.

Running Vista on a Pentium 4 is a bit of stretch anyway -- particularly if you haven't optimized Vista for editing, per the FAQs to the right of this forum.
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/415316?tstart=0
You also should ensure you have all of the updates to Vista SP2, including non-critical ones. You may even want to do a repair/install of Vista. Believe it or not, with all of the updates this past year, a repair can greatly improve performance.
There is also a tweak to ensure Vista makes more efficient use of your RAM, again from the FAQS to the right of this forum.
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/446316?tstart=0
55 gigs of hard drive space is also a bit tight for video editing, depending on your video source files (unless you're editing to a second hard drive or to an external drive). I recommend you always keep at least 30 gigabytes of clean, defragmented space on your C drive when operating an intensive program like Premiere Elements -- and that doesn't give you much room for your video clips and scratch disks.
But the real core issue is likely your source files -- particularly since you mention rendering issues. What type of camcorder are you editing video from and how are you getting the video into your computer?
With your limited power, I'd recommend you stick to video from a miniDV camcorder. Hi-def video -- particularly AVCHD video -- is going to choke the life out of your machine.

  • HT4922 Downloaded 5.1.1. to my iphone. Now, Safari will not connect to my server.  Can not download web pages and many of my apps. Running very slow sluggish! Is there a fix? Sound like other users are experiencing same problems.  Anyone have a solution?

Downloaded 5.1.1 to my iphone. Now, Safari will not connect to my server. Can not download web pages and many of my apps. Email seems to be ok. iphone running slow and sluggish.  I have read several other users have experienced the same problem. Any solutions?

Basic troubleshooting steps oultlined in the User Guide are restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as new device.
You need to go through all steps in succession until your problem is solved.  If going through ALL these steps fails to resolve your issue, then you'll need to bring your phone into Apple for evaluation and possible replacement.

  • No safari access after message read error loading send to apple. reload page or press ok Is there a fix?

I was browsing a bass pro website clicked on a drop down and safari closed, went to an error page reading.
Safari has quit unexpectedly. sending erro to apple option to click ok or reload page. when i click either nothing happens mostly. sometimes it closes out and if i can load safari again the message just comes back up... however, i can shutdown and open in safe mode and browse.  is there a quick fix?

You may have installed the "Genieo" or "InstallMac" ad-injection malware. Follow the instructions on this Apple Support page to remove it.
Back up all data before making any changes.
Besides the files listed in the linked support article, you may also need to remove this file in the same way:
    ~/Library/LaunchAgents/com.genieo.completer.ltvbit.plist
If there are other items with a name that includes "Genieo" or "genieo" alongside any of those you find, remove them as well.
One of the steps in the article is to remove malicious Safari extensions. Do the equivalent in the Chrome and Firefox browsers, if you use either of those. If Safari crashes on launch, skip that step and come back to it after you've done everything else.
If you don't find any of the files or extensions listed, or if removing them doesn't stop the ad injection, then you may have one of the other kinds of adware covered by the support article. Follow the rest of the instructions in the article.
Make sure you don't repeat the mistake that led you to install the malware. Chances are you got it from an Internet cesspit such as "Softonic" or "CNET Download." Never visit either of those sites again. You might also have downloaded it from an ad in a page on some other site. The ad would probably have included a large green button labeled "Download" or "Download Now" in white letters. The button is designed to confuse people who intend to download something else on the same page. If you ever download a file that isn't obviously what you expected, delete it immediately.
In the Security & Privacy pane of System Preferences, select the General tab. The radio button marked Anywhere  should not be selected. If it is, click the lock icon to unlock the settings, then select one of the other buttons. After that, don't ignore a warning that you are about to run or install an application from an unknown developer.
Still in System Preferences, open the App Store or Software Update pane and check the box marked
Install system data files and security updates
    if it's not already checked.
