F-4480 printer just suddenly stopped responding.

Had been printing a series of letters when pop-up stated printer was low on color.
I replaced the color cartridge and printer hasn't worked since.

Can you provide some additional details?
- When you say the printer hasn't worked since, what does the printer do? Do you get lights coming on, on the printer? Do you get an error message?
- Was it a new HP cartridge or a refill?

Try turning WiFi off on the iPad, then reset it again, turn WiFi on again and join your network again if necessary. Or go to Settings>WiFi>Your network name>Forget this network. Reset your iPad and then join your network again. Or - settings>General>Reset>Reset network settings. Reset the iPad, then try to join your network again.

Printing to AdobePDF stops responding

Hi everyone,
I've searched up and down for some guidance on this problem and have found a lot of questions on the forums, but not a lot of resolutions (for my case in particular).
Our graphics department creates a lot of PDFS based off of Powerpoint and Quark files. About 6 times/day the Adobe PDF printer locks up and stops responding. They need to reboot in order to get it working again.
Their Acrobat Distiller log shows the following error:

I've seen several other forum discussions with this particular error, and everyone says to change the distiller option to Standard as opposed to PDFX4 2008. Well, in our case the Distiller was set to a custom joboptions file that basically set higher resolutions. It was very similar to the "High Quality Printing" setting. I had our users try the High Quality Printing setting, and they still experience the same problem.
I've checked the Windows Event logs and do not see any relevant events that correspond to the times that these jobs are failing.
This is occuring on freshly loaded workstations running Windows 7 (64-bit) with Adobe CS 4.
I'm going to try to repair the Acrobat installation during my lunch hour today, but was hoping someone could provide some alternative guidance as well.

First, I want to thank you for taking the time to reply.
One of my users called me just now to say that she started seeing the lockups again. So I went down to her desk and killed acrotray.exe from Windows Task Mgr & then restarted it.
I tried printing to file, but it locked up on me again.
Should I do the print-to-file after a fresh boot when the AdobePDF printer is working properly? Or was the test to try it after it had experienced a lockup?

V4 Print Drivers suddenly stopped working on Windows 8.1 machine on a Windows 2012 r2 Domain

Today one of our newly setup windows 8.1 machines stop printing to a Toshiba copier that was setup on a domain controller with the printers role installed. The Toshiba copier was setup using Microsoft default Toshiba PLC6 V4 printer driver.
The computer in question was printing to the copier minutes before the user shutdown to go to lunch. When the user returned, printing to the Toshiba copier was not working. However others in the office where printing to the Toshiba copier
just fine. I decide to try and print to other printers and found that the Microsoft XPS printer was not working also. I also found that all the other printers that where not using V4 printer drives printed just fine. The Toshiba copier and
Microsoft XPS printer both use V4 printer drivers. I tried removing the Toshiba copier, but when re-adding the Toshiba copier a error message was given stating that the V4 driver could not be found. This same process was tested
on a known working computer and the printer was removed and added just find. Next I logged onto the system as the administrator and found that the XPS printer was also not working under the admin account. So I did not think this was a user
only related issue and was a system wide issue. So far my only idea is that something is missed up with the V4 driver system, but I have no idea where to start to go about fixing it. Any ideas will be helpfully.

IPod click wheel suddenly stopped responding. Cant click anything.

My iPod recently developed a clicking problem. It first started out days ago that I had to click stuff twice, or hard, for it to respond, but last night, it just stopped responding completely. The scroll still works, I can scroll up and down, but i can't click anything, not the menu button, or the play, or the middle button. Does any one have an idea of what could have caused this??? Is it a hardware or software thing?! Help!

My boss just brought me his iPod and he is having a similar problem, however I cannot fix it so easily.
He has an iPod classic, 160 GB. The scroll wheel works most of the time. Sometimes it's need some love to cooperate, but nothing that is supposed to click works. It makes the clicking noise, but does not do anything. I have tried over and over to reset it in hopes of fixing it, but the center button seems to have stopped working as well.
I've looked all over the site to try and find someone to call to see if we can send it in to get fixed. My boss has not had this iPod very long. I can't seem to find anything helpful.
Any suggestions?

My mac just radomly stopped connecting to the internet last week and i cant get it to reconnect again. All the other devices in my house connect perfectly. i use an O2 home hub and have had no problems for a year with this so im guessing its the mac. my girlfriend recently bought a printer and plugged it in next to the mac but it isnt connected, is there any chance this could be blocking the wireless signal? thanks mike

Try turning off the router for about 5 minutes, then turn it back on then restart the Mac.
If the printer isn't setup for printing with the Mac, I doubt that's the problem.

My ipod classic suddenly stopped responding

Ipod Classic about 5 years old. ipod stopped responding suddenly: screen window is unchanged and shows the display of audiobook page I was listening to. There is absolutely no response to any key I press. I can't even turn it off. Should try synching it as a diagnostic? What else???

Bouncing Ball Just Suddenly Stops Mid Bounce

I have a application where each time you click the add ball button a new randomly colored ball is added to the jpanel. It works fine except that the balls suddenly stop at the same spot. I want them to continue to bounce for a longer period of time instead of like 8 bounces. It was going around withoutstopping prior to my getting the add new ball part working. I cannot seem to figure out what I did wrong. Also curious if anyone new of a tip as to how to get the balls to disappear once a button is clicked or their cycle runs out. Below is my code:

I posted here since it says new to java which I am. I also have posted here before with questions relatedto swing and 2D elements like graphs and no one else had an issue. I have had non-Apple Bluetooth devices simply stop communicating after being paired with a device for a year or longer with no apparent reason. The solution was simply to pair the device again.
An explanation is likely to be elusive, resulting only in manufacturers of the devices blaming each other for deficiencies either real or imagined.

Print Queue suddenly stopped: OS X 10.4.10 and Bonjour via AirPort

I've been using an Intel iMac with no problems for many months: 2 printers attached: 1 inkjet via USB, and 1 HPLJ1200 via Bonjour through Airport/USB.
System Version: Mac OS X 10.4.10 (8R2218),
Kernel Version: Darwin 8.10.1
Suddenly, the Bonjour one has stopped. One minute it's printing, next minute, all jobs go into a queue but never emerge. The printer queue shows in the dock with a red "!" with all jobs in that queue stopped. If I restart the queue, it just tries to restart (green) then reverts to red "!" again. The direct USB printer continues to work fine. Problem is confined to the Bonjour printer.
I've tried:
1. Checking all the cables etc. Turning everything off, then one by one on. Restarting iMac, etc.
And then (after a few experiences of others on the Forums):
2. Verifying and fixing permissions via Disk Utility (there were no problems to fix)
3. Uninstalling the HPLJ, and then reinstalling.
4. Installing a 2nd instance of the HPLJ to bypass the first instance (which has a little grey "!" next to it in the Print dialogue box)
All to no avail.
I've then tried:
5. OnyX, running maintenance scripts, cleaning caches.
Still no good.
6. Finally, I've looked into the CUPS Error Log via OnyX, and I can see a number of Errors (see transcript at end of this email). I have removed the HPLJ from the printer setup, then reinstalled it. The CUPS Error Log for this is shown below, from removal, to reinstallation.
Is there a Unix or OSX expert in the forum who can help please?

Dear All
I have been able to partially solve this problem myself.
I've managed to track the problem down to the Apple Airport Express (which is hosting the USB printer via Bonjour). The problem seems to be that the iMac can't see the printer, even thought it's connected.
It turns out that the problem started at the time of an internet outage, and the iMac can't seem to find the printer since that time (even though Bonjour is working fine).
I've tried resetting the Airport Express, and even upgrading the firmware, but no luck so far.
I'll close this posting, and put a new one in the Airport Express Forum.

Sound just suddenly stopped on my laptop

I am on my laptop and all of a sudden there is no sound. I checked the volume, it is on, I tried turning the laptop on and off and that still didn't help.
I am unsure of what to do, I went into control panel, clicked on system and security, find and fix problems and followed the instructions, that did not work. Said troubleshooting couldn't identify the problem. I have no idea what to do next. It was working while I was listening to a youtube video, then it just stopped.
Any advice for a not-so-savvy computer person.

Keyboard, trackpad & external harddrive suddenly stopped responding but external mouse will work?

I have a 2007 MacBook, but the harddrive was replace begining on 2011. Ealier today mid-email my keyboard suddenly froze and my cursor dissappeared. The power button still worked so I was able to turn off my computer. When I restarted I had about 3 hours of normal functioning before the same thing happened again. The entire keyboard becomes unresponsive (including the caps lock light that does not light up) and the mouse is no longer visible. I tried connecting an external mouse and this seems to work fine, but I still can't type anything in.
I connected my external harddrive to copy over all my files (incase this was the begining of the end). About two minutes in the light started blinking on the harddrive and i was given the message from the computer saying the harddrive was unplugged... which it was not!
I have restarted the computer a few times, the keyboard and trackpad never come back on, the computer can no longer recongnize any external harddrive or thumbdrive but works fine with the external mouse.
Does anyone have any idea what is going on?

Make sure it's not something as simple as the battery bulging up and exerting upward pressure on the trackpad, keyboard, and USB / FW ports.
That's what happened to my Macbook and it showed similar symptoms.
I simply took out the battery and let the MacBook rest for a 48 hours. Then I ran it strictly on the power supply and it ran fine.
At that point I bought a replacement generic battery through Amazon for about $40 including shipping and taxes. I figured why waste money on the Apple original part if it was that very Apple original battery that went bad and bulged up like a toad?
MacBook has been running just fine for months now, maybe a year.
