F-58: Restrict the selection of no. of open items

Is it possible to restrict the number of selected open items (to a max of 10 items at a time) in F-58 transaction?

Foreign Currency Valuation - GL at the time of clearing of open items

Hi experts,
We valuate the open items (Balance sheet items) in Company Code Currency without checking the reversal option.
At the time of clearing of these open items, the GL used for reversal of the valuation difference is been different.
GL mapped in OBA1:
Exch.rate diff realized
Loss/Gain: 716000
Valuation: Loss/Gain - 716001
Bal.Adj 1: 101699
Translation:
Loss/Gain: 716000
Bal.sheet adj -Loss/Gain: 716001
At the time of clearing of open items:
The entry which is getting passed for the reversal of the valuation difference is some time posted to GL: 101699 and sometime to GL 716000. The off-setting GL been Clearing GL(which is been valuated).
Could someone kindly through some light as to why the system behaving in such a way. We expect the GL at the time of reversal to be 101699.

The principle of foreign currency revaluation works as follows for the open items like AR, AP and Bank Balances:
At the period end the system revaluates the open items (or balances, as the case may be) with the period end exchange rate and thus posts the difference between the original exchange rate (at the time the open item was created) and the period end rate. This could be loss or gain due to revaluation. One side of the entry is P&L (7...account) and the other side is the balance sheet (the balance sheet account typically comes from AR, AP or Bank/Cash range).
This loss or gain is not realized since at the period end the open item is still out there. When you clear the open item, the loss or gain due to the latest exchange rate is realized immediately and is posted to realized loss or gain, with an offset to the original balance sheet account.

We have tried using the t-code FPBW (how you would run it manually), and we have also tried using the mass activity scheduler - rfkk_ma_scheduler. We can't get it so the key date updates each week. Can anyone provide some guidance on how to get this automated?

How to restrict the selection of other nodes when we minimize previous node

Hi ,
I have requirement where i am displaying the data in tree view as result list.
Here in the tree view i have i base under that iobject and under that contract
when i expand ibase node and select some iobjects and when i minimize the ibase now automatically next level ibase nodes are selected based on number of iobject selected in previous ibase node what i have selected.
Any inputs plz help me.

Hi,
The selection is based on table row index. When you minimize a node in a tree, the selection will change as another node will come under that index number. You should redefine the select and prepare_output to
1. Make note of selected nodes and store them in a table type attribute using either the "BO" if it's unique or the "node-key" as the key field. Also, remove deselected nodes from this table.
2. During each round-trip, you shoud validate available rows against the previously said table and if they are available, show them as marked.

I am using Struts Upload Bean. I am also using html:file tag in the JSP. Now when i click on the browse button, A file dialogue window appears. The problem id the i want to show only text and xml files in the dialog box. Now the files of type combo box in the dialogue box is showing *.*, *.html, *.pictures (jpg/gif) options. In place of this i need to show only txt and xml files. How can i restrict the file type to XML and TXT

Hi,
the demo doesn't keep track of this. If you want then this feature isn't implemented. You will also see that the document is uploaded in a directory without changing the file name (e.g. adding the SR number). This however can be done and would be the way to do it

Lockbox User Exit Selection Fields and Matching Open Items in CustomerAccts

Dear SAP Gurus,
I have an issue with lockbox process. The problem is selecting the customer open item for clearing. Our Client uses standard SAP USER EXIT (FEBLB001).
Our billing document number does not equal to the financial accounting document number all the time. We store our billing document number in the Assignment field some times, and so this is the number the customer will reference when remitting payment. I have not been able to find a way to make the SAP system to use the customer's reference number (e.g. Assignment field) to clear the open item.
I m not sure how to resolve this issue. As far as my knowledge, we have to add selection field ZUONR to USER EXIT apart from XBLNR, BELNR. Please help me with this problem by providing me some basic knowledge. I would greatly appreciate for help.

How to ensure that an accrual (FBS1) that was cleared and reversed/reset (FBRA) does not affect the books while being in open items (FAGLB03)?

At first the user created an accrual using FBS1 for reversal on 5/1/2015.
This created a clearing document.
Then it was mistakenly reversed by the user for 5/1/2015 by using F.81
This also created a clearing document.
Based on advice in the following thread: Delete reverse accrual/defferal documents | SCN ,
the user used FBRA to reset and reverse the document. We are unsure if the reset and reverse command was used or just the reset choice.
Now the accrual value is in the respective accounts with an open status (i.e. red button). Does this mean that the entry has already been discarded and it won't affect the accounts? Or does one then use FB50 to reverse the effects of the accrual in the current and next month?

I guess that the user has not reverse the transaction as its still shows as open item in 30 /4 .. so I belive that you need to use fb50 or simply use FBR2 and enter the original entry no and the choose (generate reversal posting option )..

Changing logical database DDF select order, and restricting the selection

HI all,
I am using logical database DDF for a report. I would like to do two things:
1) Change the sort order of records so that when my GET statements are processing, they are bringing the data back in sorted by a field of my choice (such as KNA1-REGIO, or KNB1-BUSAB).
2) I would like to add KNA1-REGIO and KNB1-BUSAB as fields for selection during the LDB's initial selection, instead of filtering out records during the GET statements.
FYI, I did find the field DD_BUSAB in the LDB selection structure which I can use to restrict KNB1-BUSAB. I am still not sure how to restrict by KNA1-REGIO though.
Any thoughts?

Thanks for the reply Shiba. For that particular problem, the business wants to not have to use the dynamic selection, and just have KNA1-REGIO and KNB1-BUSAB as regular select options. Like I said as well, I did find DD_BUSAB which I can use for KNB1-BUSAB, but KNA1-REGIO is still a problem.
Right now I just use a CHECK statement and filter kna1-regio after the GET kna1 statement.

Restricting the Select-options by using the FM   "SELECT_OPTIONS_RESTRICT"

My requirement is, I need to display 3 select-option fields on my selection screen.
1) Field1 is S_periods which is to populate the Numbers.For this field I need to provide the options single and ranges (First 2 options).
2) Field 2 is S_RECIPIENTS which should contain user IDs.For this field I need to give first option which is single values.
3) Field 3 is S_TRANSACTIONS which should contain 3 options (Select singles, ranges and Exclude singles).
So by calling the FM "SELECT_OPTIONS_RESTRICT' only once, Can i provide all these options or I need to call this FM 3 times for 3 fields .
Can any one help me on this.
If possible plz provide me some pseudo code on this.I have gone through so many forum points on this but I havenot seen this kind of requirement.

I have a MAC, when I click on a picture tile in google the selected image will not open, Why?

When I do a Google search for a product or person on the right side of the page is a little bit of specific information and if available a a little square with a prompt for more images. Clicking on that prompt brings you to a full page of related pictures. On all my computers when you click on a specific picture tile it becomes large then you can close the picture and go back to the tile page. On the computer I'm having trouble with when I click on a specific tile on the tile page nothing happens, the screen stays on the tile page.
This is not a computer problem because when I follow the same procedure in Safari everything works just like it is supposed to, so this has to be a problem with the Firefox setting on this particular computer. This is a fairly new issue, with in the last few months.

Thank you for your question. I understand that websites, such as the google image search, are not displaying the same way in another browser. In order to make sure that this is not caused by an add on please see if it happens in [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode]]
It could also be that you need to select the option to open the image in a new page. The new image search has the block bock appear when you select one of the images. Make sure that javascript is enabled for this animation to work correctly on the page.

Can you remove the new CS4 "docking" of open items?

CS4 has a way of automatically docking every file you open which I HATE. Is there a way to have things open in their own windows that can be individually like CS3 and every other one before it would do?

I have the restriction that at one time only one cell could be selected.
Now i want the cell seletion like this,
I want only those dates to be selected if that date is after 'today'.

This addition thus allows you to generate a simplified display on the selection screen. This is particularly useful if you are not making any range selections for this selection option.
Notes
On the "Multiple Selection" screen, you can also enter ranges for selection options with "NO INTERVALS".
By combining this addition with "NO-EXTENSION", you can restrict the user to entry of a single value for the selection option, but with the possibility of also choosing single value options like 'Greater than' or 'Less than or equal'.
By using the addition " NO INTERVALS" with SELECTION-SCREEN BEGIN OF BLOCK, you can activate the simplified display for all selection options in a block.
The function module SELECT_OPTIONS_RESTRICT allows you to restrict the set of selection options available for a SELECT-OPTION (for example, only single values and patterns, i.e. 'EQ' and 'CP' are allowed). You can also forbid the leading sign 'E' (= 'Exclude from selection'). This means that you can considerably restrict the selections which can be entered on the selection screen.
Just now tried it out to limit the search help u have to use NO-EXTENSION.
Try this simple code.
Tables: mara.
SELECT-OPTIONS: s_matnr FOR MARA-matnr NO-EXTENSION.

Hi - I am trying to restrict user SELECT statemnet time on a particular view.There is a user called ABC and he is accessing many objects in database.All SELECT statments are fine execept when he query a particular VIEW.That view SELECT causing performance problem.So I am trying to restrict the SELECT query time on a VIEW.
Can you please help me to achive this task through some SQL command like ALTER USER etc...

Thanks for your help.It sounds like you are really trying to solve a performance problem with the view. I agree with Justin that the solution to restrict access to the view dynamically sounds unwieldy.
Consider tuning the view, or perhaps the query using the view. Post the view and see if anyone can help you tune it.

2 way restriction of select lists

Hello all,
I have a requirement in my application in which I need to restrict the select lists in both ways unlike the cascading select lists.
I have Select lists for Department and Application. If a user selects Department first, I need to restrict the options for Applications. Or if the user select Application first, I need to restrict the options for Department.
Is there any way to do this? I have worked on cascading select lists before using Denes Kubicek's example and they worked pretty well. But the only problem implementing the same logic here is initially I need both the lists to be populated unlike cascading where the user is forced to select from the first select list and then following select lists are populated.
Can someone please help me with this.

As long as you have some default null value in both lists set to return -1, it should work just by setting the restriction in the SQL of the lists, like:
