Google toolbar was working in Firefox 11 and then went away!!

Since the Google toolbar has continued to work on my wife's computer when she upgraded to Firefox 11, I decided to upgrade. It worked for a while and then disappeared. Could the difference be that she is using Windows 7 and I am using Windows XP? Thanks

Unfortunately since Google is not maintaining the extension anymore, it is likely they didn't have it set to be compatible with newer versions. Upon upgrading, the Google toolbar would be disabled. You can try installing this add-on [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/checkcompatibility/ https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/checkcompatibility/], and see if it brings the toolbar back.
Keep in mind however, that continuing to use the Google Toolbar without support means you are open to both security holes and other bugs (ones that could potentially cause you to lose data) as Google won't fix bugs in the future. Firefox 31 compatibility with Norton toolbar

When I start to update to Firefox 31 I get a notice that Norton toolbr is not compatible. This has been a problem for years; Norton never seems to have issued the patch yet when a new version of Firefox first comes out, so I always check with Norton to see if they've patched their app so it will run with a new Firefox before I run the browser update. With well over 200 username/password sets in the Norton ID Safe, I cannot afford to have it disabledeven thouh I keep all their nearly useless security stuff turned off so it doesn't interfere with my ESET. I checked with them several days ago and they claim that it IS now compatible with Firefox 31. But the Fireox update app still warns me that it isn't compatible and will be disabled if I update the browser. And yes, the Norton is current, with all updates and patches. So what is going on here?

Norton issued a patch for their toolbar extension for Firefox 31.0 on the day before Firefox 31.0 was released.

Unlike with most Extensions, since this toolbar works with a separate application it needs to be update for each new major Firefox version .exe

Why is the latest version of Firefox not compatable with the Google toolbar? Will it ever be or do I need to switch back to Internet Explorer?

My Google toolbar was deleted when I downloaded the latest version of Firefox. It will not re-load because it is not compatible. Is this problem with Google or with Firefox? Will it be fixed soon, or will I have to go back to Internet Explorer?

When is Firefox 4.0 going to be compatable with my AVG Antivirus and toolbar????

I upgraded to Firefox 4.0 and it said that my AVG is no longer compatable with this version. When is the new version going to be compatable, as now I do not have my AVG toolbar and dont feel secure using Firefox 4.0.

The best bet would be to contact the add-on developers and let them know you'd like to use their extensions on the new version.

Even with a firefox reset my secure browsing will not turn off

i had other issues with firefox freezing etc so i reset firefox right back to the start with no add ons no nothing then found out for whatever reason im in secure browsing mode.............
i thought this would be easy to fix i popped over to security changed it all clicked ok then shut down firefox and reopened ................i was back where i started :( so i changed it again and nothing changes i still get this

It is possible that your anti-virus software is corrupting the downloaded files or otherwise interfering with downloading files by Firefox. 
You can try to disable the real-time (live) scanning of files in your anti-virus software temporarily to see if that makes downloading work.

It sounds like the iPad wasn't erased to me. If the iPad is totally cleared of content, there should be nothing on it and no backup to create.
Without connecting the iPad to your computer - Launch iTunes on you computer and go to Edit>Prefences>Devices. Do you see an iPad backup in there? If you do see it, delete it.

If you only need Firefox 3.6 for just one thing then you may be better off using a portable version of Firefox as it will not impact your Firefox 6.0.2 install. You can install it on hard disk or on a usb flash drive. Firefox 3.6.22 is the current security update as 3.6.16 is old.

File Vault on Snow Leopard only encrypts home folders you select, and doesn't work well with Time Machine.

Just make sure you are obeying the correct install order - older versions must be installed before newer stuff, i.e. your CS3 must be installed before LR4 and PSE 11. in fact your corruption error could be just that - the CS3 envcountering stuff it doesn't understand because it is newer than itself.

How full is the hard drive that you are trying to save to? Not that it should matter, but have you tried scanning another document?
Is the scanner plugged directly into the Mac? Try it that way.
Disconnect all peripherals except keyboard, monitor, mouse and scanner and see if the problem goes away.
