F4 help in data element.

I have a fileld in table that has the structure of eban.
There is a field pstyp and it has input help in it's data element.
I want to suppress the f4 help and attach customized f4 help without implementing Badi.
Please help how to suppree the data elements f4 help.

make your own structure, use own data element. Assign own search help to data element. Or assign own search help in your own structure. Then you dont even need an own data element, just copy structure EBAN and change search help assign in structure..
Thats when you need it generally.
If you just need to overwrite the search help for e.G. a certain Dynpro, then just assign your own search help to the dynpro field.

Search help for date field in Editable ALV

Hello Friends,
I am using editable alv using 'reuse_* '.
I have used date as input field. While creating fieldcatlog also i have declared dat as a mkpf-budat.
But i am not getting serach help for date in output.
Is it possible with reuse or i have to go by object oriented ?

Search help for date in VC

Hi,
I have created an iview in Visual Composer for a query. it contains date field on selection variable fomr. i tried entering date in various format, but it gives an error : variable expects interval value ; enter an interval".
can we provide search help for date field in VC?

Help regarding data element

I need some help regarding data element ZEXPDT. I used it in an infoquery that was transported to QAS and it does not exist in QAS. I thought it might be locked in a transport, but the below screen clip says it is not locked. It was created in 3/2014. Thanks.

Either trick the system, SE11, add a space at end of text desciption and save,
Or call transport workbench (SE01, SE10) create a transport request or use an existing one, then double-click on a task, switch to modify mode, add a line with R3TR DTEL name of the data element, save, then object list, lock in request/task menu.
Or SE80, contextual menu of data element. (other functions, write transport entry)

Problems with F4 help for dates

Hi all.
In a redesign project we use a new structure for the bsp pages. Since the redesign every F4 help for dates is giving us a java script error.

In the first version it was a view with some page fragments included containing the F4 helps.
The new application is a main view containing a changing view over command <bsp:call comp_id="...
Does the difference in place used matter?
I also removed the attribute themeRoot from <htmlb:content ...

F4 help for date field in ITS

hi all;
I was working on ESS Leave Request, i am using the standard program SAPMWS20000081H and the service template WS20000081.
Now in the EP view i am unable to get the F4 help for the date field 'Absence From' & 'Absence To'. i have checked the data element used it is 'DATS'.
How to get the F4 help in the view, please help me its of high priority.

Hi, I can tell you what we have done. I can see that the original template displays the "Absence from" field this way :

We modified the template to display it like this :

We did the same for ABSENCETO040150. So you can play around with the template to generate the F4 button. ( Note that we also added the ~webgui parameter in the service file and set it to 1, this in order to generate the calendar ). Good luck !

Calendar help for Date i/p field in SRM 5.0 shopping cart

I am working on SRM 5.0..I have a requirement for the addition of custom field ie. lease termination date field on SRM shopping cart screen and having a calendar help for this date input field.
Has anyone tried to add calendar help for an input date field in the ITS service??What all additions have to be done for this(style,images etc)...Does any one has any idea?Please help.

Howto limit options in search help for DDIC element LANGU (language)?

Hi all,
in my application I have an input field for a language parameter. Of course the standard search help (F4) opens a popup with all possible languages (registered in system). Now I want to limit these languages in the popup to only a few I want.
Is it possible to programmatically do this in ABAP, or do I have to copy the DDIC element and create an EXIT for the search help?

You can do search help in 2 ways.
1.
You can copy existing one and make changes to that and add that to the field for which u want to.
2.
check the search help which tables are being used.if you know the tables , u can write search help using ABAP.

Initialising F4-Value-Help for date

I want the F4-Help for a date field to show a month different from the current one.
By default the month containing sy-datum is displayed.
I want the popup to start in another month.
I tried already to create a search help and setting the startdate in a function module of it's group.
This worked in SAPGui, but did not in Web Dynpro.
Does anybody have an idea, how to implement this.

You would have to create Freely Programmed Value Help and within the layout of the Value Help create your own Data Picker using the DataNavigator UI element. With the Freely Programmed Value Help approach, you can ignore the current value in the bound context and start with any values you want. The downside will be that it won't be quite a user friendly. Instead of the quick calendar pop in place, you will get the full value help popup window.

Problem when define Value range for data element

Dear
When I define a new data element in ABAP Dictionary, for example, ZDATA_ELEMENT_TEST.
I use domain ZDOMAIN_TEST.
(Data type is DEC, the length is 10, and decimals is 2 with sign.)
Now, I want to restrict that, user can ONLY input the value from 10 to 100.
From ABAP course and the Internet, I switch to "Value Range" tab, and define 10 for Lower Limit, 100 for Upper Limit in Intervals section.
And write the simple program.
PARAMETERS test TYPE ZDATA_ELEMENT_TEST.
WRITE: test.
And run it.
Line: -
But, there is a problem.
When I input 200 for test, the program still run and display 200 to screen without any error report or notification. The ABAP runtime system doesn't check the input value.
I want to config for the domain that can satisfies, if the user input the wrong value (e.g: 200 in the previous case), the program will auto raise the error report, or exception, or sth like that.
Any help is welcome.

Welcome to forum.
Try to attach key word VALUE CHECK to your PARAMETER statement.
I.e:
PARAMETERS test TYPE ZDATA_ELEMENT_TEST VALUE CHECK.
Note: The addition VALUE CHECK cannot be used together with the additions AS CHECKBOX, RADIOBUTTON, or NO-DISPLAY.

Help for date field not working after upgrade

In our BSP application for a page we had an inputfield (date).
Onvaluehelp for input field we were calling the saphelpdate function.
however after upgrade this functionality is not working properly as no pop up comes after clicking on the icon.
we have upgraded to SPS 16 recently.
please help me.
