F1 help layout prob

Hi there,
Can anybody tell me how to maintain the layout of F1 help screen.
In any places when we press F1 in sap system, there will be screen pop-up. In some systems, we can see function buttons(application help, technical information, etc...) in the header of screen. And in some other systems, we can see those buttons in the footer of the screen.my question is how can we maintain the layout of this help screen? ( open/close some function, or change the order, or modify the position).
Any responses will be awarded!

Can you have two 15 page docs for Horz and Vert formats marry them in folio, so that article 1 has a Horz and Vert orientation,article 2 the same and so on and so on right up to article 15?
Right now it seems like I would have to break the two docs into 15 individual docs each to accomplish the Horz and Vert orientation.

Hi there
You do that by editing the Window defintion. Click View > Pods > Project Set-up.
Expand the Windows folder and double-click the CHM Window definition.
Then DE-select the Glossary option.

Help - fsb probs??

hope you guys can help
my system to begin with!!
msi kt4 ultra bsr
amd t/bred 2400+ (version "b" i believe)
512meg of 333mhz ddr (cl2.5)
msi ge4 ti4200 128meg
now to my problem - it is my understanding that 333mhz ddr ram should optimise when running at a fsb of 166mhz
unfortunatelyas i slowly up my fsb it crashes out at about 142-4 mhz fsb - even when i use the fuzzy logic it crashes at 144mhz!
i am not sure but as the multiplier seems to be locked on this mobo - is it overclocking the proc too much???
or are there any settings available to allow me to set 166mhz fsb??? with my amd 2400+
please help guys!!!!!

Newbie help: Layout Managers

Hi,
as a newbie in Swing I have difficulties with the Layout Managers... I have read the Swing tutorial but it's still a little bit complicated:
I have a JPanel, I would like to add a JMenuBar, a JToolbar and then 2 additional JPanels at the top and on the left representing rulers like in the "How a Scroll Pane Works" example at
http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/uiswing/components/scrollpane.html as well as a JTable on the right.
How can I do this... BorderLayout containing my main JPanel at CENTER and the two JPanels representing the rulers at PAGE_START and LINE_START and the JTable at LINE_END? Where can I place then my menu- and toolbar? Can I add a BoxLayout to PAGE_START for that?
In a posting here at the forum I read that the MenuBar should be added to the root Pane. How do I do this? When do I use Content Pane, Layered Pane and Glass Pane?
Do you know a simple example or good tutorials at the web?

PLz help xsl prob

this problem has been annoying me for a while now.
I cant see logically what im doing wrong.im trying to select all child nodes of a root node and print the current node

HELP email probs

I am trying to use my existing sky email address. If I try to set up an email account I go to set up, email icon, internet email account, then I get told that "your device had a problem connecting to the server" ? I do not understand, who's server?. I have also tried to set up a Blackberry ID but I keep getting told " the Blackberry ID user account service is not reachable please try later" I have several times with no luck.
All I want is to view my emails ..................................

Help ipod prob

i need help i got a new ipod 30 gig video ipod.
I can fully charge it and unhook it turn it off and the next day the battery will be dead.
When listening to it i get standard listing time so i don't know what is wrong.

For any unexpected battery drain the first thing to check is that an alarm is not set that would cause the iPod to start up and play whilst unattended.
To check go to extras/clock/alarm and set it to off. Check the calendar also, extras/calendar/alarm.

Help! Prob with CSS display

I created 3 different local sites for possible web pages
using CSS. I can still view the sites in browsers - have headings
with logos, horizontal naviation bars etc - but in display view
they revert to writing( eg the original unordered list). I cannot
even remake them. What did I do? How can I correct?

IE 7 layout probs (clearfix? )

Hi,
I've just started learning CSS after years of the dreaded
tables.
I've 99% completed re-doing my site. However, when I checked
it in IE 7 on Windows I have a clearfix problem (I think). FF,
Opera and Safari seem fine, at least in OSX.
I have 2 columns nested in a content div, but in IE7 the
content does not stretch with the columns, and the footer jump to
the right.
In another forum i learned about haslayout, but it does not
seem to solve the problem.
I DO notice that DW8 design view displays the site the same
way, but I ignored this at the time.
I've validated the CSS and HTML and they pass (apart from a
java error).

Zen micro help, serious prob

After accidnetly removing my battery while music was still playing my zen micro is not allowing me to go any further then a screen that says "hardware problem". I cant turn my player off, everytime i take the battery out all that comes up when i put it back in is the same screen sayin hardware problem. My computer now does not recognise my player. What shall i do ?

How do I get the Function bar to appear in my responsive layout?

Running 11.0.3.268, with the latest hotfix.
When I customize my layout, I see options for a Function bar. (Home button, Print button, Back and Next buttons, etc.) When I generate my output, however, I do not see any of these items. What do I need to do to make these button appear?

Is it possible to adjust screen dimension break points for the Responsive HTML5 Help layouts? I see the Screen Profiles on the Project Set-up tab, but they seem to be only for Multiscreen HTML5 output.

Help getting worse and worse

When CS5 went out, i spend a lot of time here trying to undertand what happened to the online help.
I even stopped adding comment and being part of the community help because metric driven design is,
as far as the help layout is concerned, a very very bad idea.
My hopes were limited for CS5.5 and I really wanted Adobe to correct this in CS6...
I wonder what happened with the online help part of Adobe apps in general, and AE specifically.
I wanted to check some stuff on it, and it’s a complete disaster (at least in french).
All the links in the "what’s new in cs6" are pointing to Todd’s blog home page, not even to the related post, and it even links to it when the topic is not disscussed at all on the blog. Hopefully, they all comes with another link to the home page of video brain, not even to the correct course or anything.
I’ll be more specific; For a tutorial I’m recording, I wanted to check some info on the new material properties, because I’m not a 3D guy and wanted to use the correct french words and be sure not to mess-up.
So I went to the online help home page, got in the what’s new in cs6 page, then scrolled down to new material option where it linked me to Todd’s blog and video brain. Both on the home page. Because I didn’t care about watching a video, and needed to read some stuff in french to get the correct words, I went to the Layer & properties part of the help.
What a joy, 6 of the 7 topics wheren’t updated since january 1st (meaning no info about new stuff in CS6) and the only part updated is about 3D layers, yay ! So let’s open that page.
I got 8 topics, none with info about the materials, old or new, only basics info about rotating,moving, 2d/3d layers, intersecting... and, on this "Product affected: Adobe After Effects CS6" page, info about Photoshop 3D layers, a feature removed from the product.
That’s when I used that handy "search box", because that’s what I was told when I complained about how lame was the CS5 docs navigation compared to the CS4 one: the paradigm shifted from topic related discovery to keyword search related discovery.
Let’s try to find out some info for the "Options Surface" category.

If I select the "only adobe content" radio button, it’s worse. Less AE links, less relevant.
If I click "support" instead of Community help, it’s not better, still more links pointing to Illustrator or Photoshop than After Effects. At least, 1 link is related to 3D layers in raytraced environment, but not what I’m looking for.
Oh yes, now there's a topic browsing page. Let's have a try with that. Guess what ? Couldn’t find the info I was looking for.
Removing the breadcrumb navigation in CS5 help was an ugly move, but this new help system is just... I don’t know how to say it politely. I haven’t been satisfied with the help system since CS5, when you removed the very usefull, always on context and organised bredcrumb navigation on the left hand side of the screen. I wished you stoped the "search" paradigm and went back to the "organised" one. I know your metrics shows people love searching. But how many search does they have to go through before getting the correct result ? How many unsuccessfull search before they don't bother anymore ? Honestly I’ve never seen such a messy help, and it really is confusing. It even feels like Adobe doesn’t bother about it anymore, and that it’s now relying only on external content, giving the feeling that the only thing up-to-date are the links to videobrain/creativecow/whatever rather than the official content itself. Hopefully, the curators for these links only points to very good tutorials.
The other thing that is bothering me, is that we get more and more video content instead of text content. Don’t get me wrong, I love watching videos. But I also love to read the docs. It’s much more effective that trying to seek in the video for that special piece of info you are looking for (and there no way to know if the info you’re looking for is indeed in the video or not, or to "search" it's content).
And don't get me started on the Help App, I never understood why you did it in the first place. Not as inconvenient as the website, but nearly.
Not having an efficiant documentation is bad. I’ve been asking for an help redesign since CS5, complained in a blog post and on the community help forums. With this new non-sensical online help, where nothing is to be found easily, this will soon become mendatory. If Adobe doesn’t care for help anymore, they should remove it completly instead of making it less and less relevant, and more and more messy. If you have an email address where I can send this rant I’d be glad to let the right people know.

i'll probably send you a mail with more thoughts, but what I feel from your answer is that you didn't get the major issue I have with the online doc since CS5.
Sure it's nice to know that you'll fix your broken search engine and that you'll add some filters back (reference only). But the major issue here is your paradigm shift from indexed content to searched only content. Nothing can be found easily. Absolutely nothing. Either in localised versions or in the english version. The layout is nerve breaking, and the search results are really bad (but this is what you are going to fix someday soon).
For an online help to be efficient we need properly organised and Indexed content first, and then a powerfull search engine to find it if we don't know where to look. Right now, you've wipped out the index & organisation and just piled stuff here and there leaving us the only way you think we want to browse the help: search. And that's the problem. We are not able to browse the help anymore; We can only search it, and we even cannot rely on that.
Sincerly, go browse the CS4 online help. it was clear, and working like a breath with the always handy, and always displayed breadcrumb navigation. It also featured search. Now, go back to CS6, and tell me where is the improvment. No way to properly separate official docs, from adobe official blog posts, from 3rd party sites/blogs. Everything is mixed-up and unbrowsable. Even some of the "topic pages" makes no sens, as I demoed in my previous post. No way to keep on context. No way to explore more without returning back to the search results. Having more great content from 3rd party is really interesting, but it's poor integration with the official docs makes it an experience breaker.
When I'm in my app and need help, I need to first and foremost go to the official help, I need it clearly organised and with an understandable and clean layout. And when I'm on my topic and feel I need more info/ in depth knowledge, a link to 3rd party tutorials, free or paying. And it's not the experience I'm getting. And it's the experience I need. I don't understand how it became so messy, but honestly, I've never seen something like that.
Also, you've increased focus on video content. Yeah watching tutorial is cool. But video is not searchable. Video is not immediate. When I need help, I need to read the answer first to fix my issue, and then, if I feel I need to learn more, go to AdobeTV, Videocopilot, Videobrain & such to learn more stuff. Your enphasis on 3rd party and video content have shrank the volume of quickly available info. We need more text content, and more text content from within the official documentation, not from partners. Because once again, each time i'm redirected to a partner site, I loose context...
So please, stop focusing on search only, and bring back the much stronger breadcrumb navigation, bring back in front the official documentation, so the info precise, findable, and not dilluted.

Please fix the Robohelp bug related to supporting underscores (_) in the help files (*.chm)

There are 10 module specific projects. Further map IDs are assigned in all the 10 module projects to have context sensitivity. These are merged into a single project to generate the entire help file. The output for the project is html help (.chm).
Initially, we generated the html help and integrated with the application. When tested (pressed F1) the correct topic is displayed but with the ToC for that module and not the entire help.
Solution: I followed the steps mentioned in the following thread that I came across on Adobe forum.

But the solution didn’t work as expected, Further investigation showed that since the output file name had underscore (Module1_EN.chm to denote the language), the solution didn’t work. Hence I removed the ‘underscore (_)’ from the output file name and generated the output again. This time the solution worked.
Please refer below the steps for generating the output.
Steps:
Generated output (chm) for all the modules. I had to make sure that the output file name does not contain any ‘underscore (_)’ as this caused the problem when generated the help file.
In the main help project (which is an empty container), merged all the projects using Robohelp’s Merged Project functionality. While merging, I first created empty Book and then merged the project within that book.
For example, Book1 will contain Module1.chm, Book2 will contain Module2.chm and so on.
Added window definitions using Project Setup -> New Window. Also added reference to main ToC here by clicking Advanced Properties. (Table of Contents: Main.hhc)
Selected the above created window while generating the output (Single source layouts -> html help Layout -> Properties).
Generated the html output for the entire project (Main.chm).
Decompile the ‘Main.chm’ and extracted the ToC file ‘Main.hhc’.
For each module project, imported ‘Main.hhc’ as a Baggage File, created window definitions same as the Main project and with reference to ‘Main.hhc’.
Again generated html output for all the modules.
Tested CSH for the project. The correct topic displayed with the entire ToC.

Not sure but I believe it may be a bug in the Microsoft Help Compiler over which Adobe have no control. Microsoft last updated in 2004. Good luck!
