  • Preview in Browser button is gon

I'm not sure what happened, but the globe symbol for the
preview in browser button is gone from the document toolbar in
Dreamweaver 8. I haven't really seen this on the forum.
Please understand, preview in browser works fine if I go to
it through the File menu. But the button is missing from the
toolbar, and really, that's where I spend the most time.
    Thanks!

Have you installed any extensions recently?

  • My LR previews data file has just gone over 50GB, how can I shrink it as I really need the space on my laptop?

My LR previews data file has just gone over 50GB, how can I shrink it as I really need the space on my laptop?

Or if you don't want to delete all of it, you can just discard 1:1 previews using Library->Previews menu - that may or may not buy you the space you need.
If you do opt for deleting the whole thing, here is an idea to keep it from going back to 50G: change the size/quality of standard previews and/or the policy for auto-removing 1:1 previews (Lr Preferences -> Catalog Settings -> File Handling).

  • Why does f12(preview in browser mode) not render the page correctly?

Why does f12(preview in browser mode) not render the page correctly? Instead when i go to the main or original file, it renders properly? It is drriving me nuts! HAHA! Can anyone help? mainly CSS problem, div overlapping but when viewing from original file on browser not through F12, it renders correctly. CS5.5 DW. Thanks!

just that one of it is a f12 (preview in browser) while the other one is going to the directory and clicking the html page by itself.
F12 is simply a hot key that launches your browser.
The only thing I can think of to explain this is that you have a local site folder someplace in addition to a testing server site.
When you hit preview, your testing server on the localhost/ is being called up in the browser.
When you open the HTML page directly, you're seeing the local site file with unparsed data.
Try disabling your Testing Server in Sites > Manage sites > Edit...

  • Preview in browser has no css!?

Ok so i swear I'm not stupid!
I have been working with this site keeping it updated for months now with no issue at all. Today I go to up date it, I preview in the browser and it works fine... I do some more work on it and preview it and now some error pops up and with the big thumbs I have I hit ok before seeing what the error said (ok maybe a little stupid). Now when I preview I get no CSS.
1 Yes I have googled is and done an adobe forum search.
2 Yes I have checked the prefs and I have tried it with "Preview with temp files" and without.
3 Yes my CSS file is still in my root folder and yes all the code is intact.
4 When I upload it to my server yes it shows up fine.
5 I have downloaded my CSS file off my server thinking that the file on my HD had been screwed up somehow but its the same.
    6 I have restarted DW.
    <link rel="stylesheet" href="../metromain.css" type="text/css" />
    Thanks
Come on Nancy O. you go this haha.

Did you validate your code for errors?
A missing semi-colon can ruin your whole day & make your CSS blink out.

  • RAW has (almost) gone! CS3/ Windows

A problem has arisen on my PhotoShop CS3 and Bridge. My setup used to work perfectly. Suddenly the option to open any RAW or JPEGS in ACR either on the right click menu or on File> open has vanished. I have tried some of the fixes on other threads to no avail. ACR exists, as I can opt under prefs to open JPEGS in ACR and if I then open a jpeg it opens in RAW but it will not open a RAW file from bridge.
    Any ideas would be appreciated.
    John

Thanks and sorry fort he lack of info...
    Points in PEC's Post:
tell us what raw file is problematic: *.cwr (Canon)
what is the version of Bridge: 2.1.0.100
    ACR: 4.2
if you purged the folder: yes
where is ACR installed: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-ins\CS3\File Formats
if you are sure that there is only one version:yes
what change you made recently on your machine. Only added a usb external hard drive and installed Norton Ghost (a backup prog)
I trashed and rebuilt the Pref file but no change

  • Dreamweaver CC: Preview in Browser Not Working

I am new to Dreamweaver CC, but I've used other versions of Dreamweaver extensively.
Since I've installed CC, by Preview in Browser has not worked. When I click it, and choose my browser (this issue occurs with ANY browser I choose), it opens my chosen browser and then tells me the page cannot be found. I know the issue is where DW is pointing my browser. For example, if i'm working in my contact.php file in DW and tell it to preview in broswer, the address that shows up in my search bar is "contact.php/"
Now obviously, that won't point my browser to any usable address. So how do I fix the issue? I've tried looking through all kinds of settings but have found nothing.
    Someone please help me!

You realize you must have a local testing server installed and defined in your Site settings in order to preview PHP pages, right?
Which Local Testing Server are you  using?
    Is it running?
Do you have it pointing to your localhost?  See screenshots:

  • Preview in Browser gone

Adobe went and changed on me in mid-project. It is much more difficult to switch from code to design, I can't find where to enter Titles on a page, and my Preview in Browser totally went away. Anyone know where it is located now?

Found it! Sorry, guys. It is under File.

  • YouTube widget not working in F12 preview

    Hi all,
I am having some issues with the YouTube widget. Where previously it has worked in the F12 preview, it now does not. It works after publishing, but this is frustrating because I need to do a lot of fine tuning.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks
    Mike

The best way to test You Tube (and Web Object) interactions are from a web server. I use XAMPP, it is very easy to set up. During testng, I just publish to that webserver's folder directly and check it on the browser.

  • Can not add Google in Preview in Browser Window

    Hi
I have just started usning DW 13.2 CC on win7.  In Preferences>Preview in Browser> Help, OK, Cancel Buttons are missing. Only + - Buttons are visible. I followed to next window and added Name and pointed to .exe file it took me back to <Preview in Browser> Help, OK, Cancel Buttons are missing. So how do I add Google?

Not sure what the OK and Cancel buttons are, but by using the following procedure, you will be able to add your favourite browser.
To add a browser to the list, click the Plus button, complete the Add Browser dialog box, and then click OK.
To delete a browser from the list, select the browser, and then click the Minus button.
To change settings for a selected browser, click the Edit button, make changes in the Edit Browser dialog box, and then click OK.
Select the Primary Browser or the Secondary Browser option to specify whether the selected browser is the primary or secondary browser.  F12 (Windows) or Option+F12 (Macintosh) opens the primary browser; Control+F12 (Windows) or Command+F12 (Macintosh) opens the secondary browser.
    Select Preview Usin
Select File > Preview In Browser > Edit Browser List.
Select Preview Using Temporary File to create a temporary copy for previewing and server debugging. (Deselect this option if you want to update the document directly.)
Please ignore the images of the plus and minus buttons, these are courtesy of this forum and has zilch to do with DW

  • This browser no longer exists at the location specified in the preview in browser preferences

I am creating a new website using Adobe Dreamweaver CC 2014. I tried to preview it in Chrome and I received an error message saying, "This browser no longer exists at the location specified in the Preview in Browser preferences." It previews fine in IE. I use Chrome as my default, but I personally have not gone in and reset anything so I don't understand why this is happening since I created my last Dreamweaver site. Any ideas how I can fix this?
    Jennifer

Okay, thank you. Inside Dreamweaver, I selected Edit Browser List and then it opened to show Chrome F12 and Internet Explorer. I chose Chrome F12 and I got the following responses in the screenshots below. I don't know what to do about the final image error message.

  • Preview in Browser, One Server, Multiple Domains

I work for a company that provides both web design and hosting services. All of our clients' sites are in sub directories of our /web/ directory on the server but their web addresses are set up as subdomains (clientname.mycompany.com). How can I make "Preview in Browser" work with this setup?
Right now, it tries to take me to the Web URL that I have set in "Servers" in DW, followed by the internal server path of the file.
    What I need, is to have "Preview in Browser" open up something like;
    clientname.mycompany.com:port
    instead of;
    dw_web_url/serverpath/file.php
    Is that possible?
Also, is it possible to "Preview in Browser" while working on a CSS file? For example, if I am working on /root/css/style.css and I press F12, Firefox would open up clientname.mycompany.com:port/index.php instead of dw_web_url/root/css/style.css

Also, is it possible to "Preview in Browser" while working on a CSS file? For example, if I am working on /root/css/style.css and I press F12, Firefox would open up clientname.mycompany.com:port/index.php instead of dw_web_url/root/css/style.css
I'm puzzled by what you expect this would show?  A CSS file has no display.
I have no sense for how to make your first issue work.  Sorry.

  • Preview in Browser Save/Put Options?

    Hi folks,
I have what seems like a simple problem - new in this second
website I am started in my Dreamweaver. I used to be able to hit
the F12 button, be asked if I wanted to save, and said yes - no
message about "putting" and no blue arrows happily streaming across
in small box...Now, it seems I cannot escape the "Putting" function
if I want to preview? I have gone to Preferences, and checked and
unchecked the box about about that (I think) with no difference, it
just seems faster if the box is checked!
Wondering how I can just preview an ordinary HTML file in
browser locally? It is unnerving to experiment on your page, and go
to preview it, if it is going to be "put' and the "experiment" is
    now out on the web?
    Thanks for any ideas!
    Carol

    Try setting Access to None.
Now, please tell me again the details of your symptoms? You
    preview, and DW
tries to connect to a remote site? (this is the problem with
    hijacking a
thread - it's best to start a new thread).

My macbook pro's screen display has suddenly gone into a strange colour setting where everything appears in a kind of infrared colour palette an I can;t seem to change it back.  It's the same for all icon and websites, does anyone know how to restore?

Wow!  I think I had this same issue just last night.
I was cleaning my macbook pro retina on the outside.  Then I opened it up and was wiping dust off the monitor and I can't pinpoint exactly when, but the colors changed suddenly.  It looked super strange, it was like green halo's and it looked worse when looking at it at an angle.  Of course I took no pictures!!!  I was freaking out that my 2 grand laptop was busted and I somehow removed a protective film or something.
But I digress...  The image looked very green and spacey, it was almost a neat effect.  After about 5 minutes it started to look a little more digital though.  There were straight lines of this halo effect on the edges and top.  After about 10 minutes it turned into a predominate issue with the blacks on screen.  I could open a web browser and it was unnoticable on a white background.  After about 15 minutes, you could only barely see the green cloud effect if you looked at the monitor from an extreme angle.  After about 20 minutes, it was completely back to normal, I almost feel paranoid like I see a halo or something strange.  But I believe that might be all in my head now.
So yerp, lemme know what you guys figure out.

  • When previewed in browser or on the server the path of my web site repeats folders. However the "href" in the html code does not show the repetition in the path.

If someone could help me on this one, this would be great. I am creating a web site that has several departments. I have categorized and saved each department in a main folder called "departments" and a subfolder for each one. In the Dreamweaver code view the pop-up menu links seem to show up properly, but when I preview in browser or upload to server "page not found" comes up because for some reason the address changes. Some parts of the address seem to be appearing twice, sometimes the entire path will appear twice as shown below:
    http://www.graphicmechanic.com/DEKALBCOUNTY/departments/parks-and-recreation/departments/p arks-and-recreation/pr-arabiamtn-map.html
that is incorrect and it takes me to "web page cannot be found".
It is obviously repeating the folders (hence the "departments/parks-and-recreation" twice. The correct link is:
    http://www.graphicmechanic.com/DEKALBCOUNTY/departments/parks-and-recreation/pr-arabiamtn- map.html
The link issues are happening in the pop-up menu. For example if you go to http://www.graphicmechanic.com/DEKALBCOUNTY/departments/parks-and-recreation/pr-arabiamtn. html and rollover the link called "Arabia Mountain" in the links to the left side of the page, then click the pop-up menu link entitled "Arabia Mountain Map" that's where the problem occurs.
Can anyone tell me how I can fix this problem. I don't know what I should do with the code since it already appears correct in html view.
    Please help if you can...
Thanks in advance for any possible help you can provide...

This problem usually happens when the menu is either a server-side include or a library item using links relative to the document. When you reference a page at a different level of the folder hierarchy, the document-relative links no longer point to the correct destination.
Change the links in the menu to be relative to the site root.
A document-relative link usually looks like this:
    <a href="../products/index.html">Products</a>
A link relative to the site root begins with a forward slash like this:
    <a href="/products/index.html">Products</a>
