F2105

I have an f2105 monitor.  The power light is on, the drivers are up to date, and the VGA cord has been tested.  The monitor comes on and the blue light stays on however, i only get a display for about 1 second and then the screen goes black yet the power light stays on.   Any suggestions?

  • F2105 HP Monitor Will NOT Stay Awake

Failed to awaken when W8 computer did.
Have tried the monitor on W7, XP, another W8 computer and a Mac OsX - on all of which the monitor had previously worked.
When the monitor is first hooked up (VGA, DVI) or turned on the monitor shows the expected display for about 3 seconds and then announces that it is going to sleep due to no input.
The menu button does nada. Nor does holding down either the power button or the menu button for 2 minutes.
I see reports of this on the forum going back to 2010, but no one seems to have solved the issue that I can see.
To me it seems that it might well be a firmware issue on the monitor's board. Does anyone know how the firmware can be rebooted or replaced?

    Hello @PanzerFaust,
I understand that your HP f2105 21 inch LCD Monitor will not stay awake and you are looking for a resolution to this issue. I am providing you with some steps you can try below:
Step 1. Unplug the power cord from the back of the monitor and the wall
Step 2. Hold the power button down for at least one minute
Step 3. Plug the power cord back into the monitor and then into the wall outlet (not a power bar or surge protector)
Step 4. Press the Menu button on the monitor
Step 5. Navigate to the Factory Reset option and select it
If the above steps did not resolve your issue you can try the monitor on a computer or other device to see if the issue persists. If it does I think it would be best if you contact HP Technical Support for repair options.

  • Sleeping monitor HP F2105

My monitor going to sleep and dont wake up again before i get the desktop screen.. if  i turn off & turn it on again , it stays 3 seconds and sleep again..!! the menu buttons on the monitor dont work on the screen.. how can i solve this?

I also have a HP f2105 attached to an HP a1630n running Windows XP and another PC running Windows 7.  These are connected using a KVA switch. I tried disconnecting from the KVA switch and connecting the monitor directly to each PC but did not solve the problem.  The problem seems to be getting worse as I will be on the computer for a few minutes then the monitor goes to sleep but can be woken up by pressing the blue on/off button and then right clicking mouse.  It will then stay awake for a few minutes then go to sleep again.
I tried resetting to factory reset, pressing and holding the on/off button for 70 seconds to no avail.  The setting when comes back are:
VGA Input:  No Signal    (is connected to the video card though)
    DVI Input:    Active
    Mode H=64kHZ, V=59kHZ
The resolution is set to  1680 X 1050

  • HP f2105 monitor NVIDIA

HP f2105 wide flat panel monitor on NVIDIA GeForce 7500 LE
Volume Box on screen will not close. Cannot increase or decrease volume using keyboard. Front panel Menu buttons do not work either on monitor. Was able to increase volume before and hit Menu button to close (on front panel). That no longer works. Also none of the buttons on the front panel of the monitor work, including the power button. Power is always on on the monitor. Please help.

Hi JRitIf the buttons on the monitor do not physically work, the troubleshooting step is to unplug it and plug it back in. If the buttons are still not responsive you will need to contact support for more options.

  • Text/image dithering on HP f2105 monitor?

Help! I connected an HP f2105 21" widescreen lcd monitor to my G4 and noticed that text and images don't appear smooth—they contain jagged edges, much like low-res graphics dithering. I'm in graphics as a profession so this is unacceptable. Any ideas to correct this? I have colors set to 'millions' and resolution at 1680x1050. The monitor's 'scaling' is set to 1-to-1. My graphics card is an ATI Radeon 9000 Pro with DVI connection.
I may exchange this monitor for a Dell 2007wfp, but wonder if I'm going to have the same problem? Is it a dot pitch issue? The HP f2105 has a .278 pitch, while Apple Cinema displays (and Dells?) are about .25.
Thank you in advance for any help!

  • HP f2105 Monitor Problem

The message "OSD LOCK OUT" pops up on the monitor every 2 or 3 seconds and stays for 2 or three seconds. The Monitor MENU will also pop up from time to time and I can not make any changes to the settings.  No matter what I am doing (Internet, gaming, working) these things pop up. Anybody know of any solutions?

You need to unplug the monitor then hold down the monitor's power button for 30-60 seconds to do a monitor reset.  It's not a cure all problems.

  • HP F2105 Monitor Electronic Hum in Speakers

This monitor works well, but the built-in speakers have started to have a noticeable hum whenever the computer and monitor are on.  This never was a problem in the past.  It does not do this when in sleep mode.  I've tried adjusting the green-to-green cable, and it does nothing to solve the problem.  Any suggestions?

That is strange. Have you tried connecting a different audio cable or perhaps connecting the monitor to another PC?
Sounds kind of like static build up.

  • My new ipod's tint is off balance

We have 2 other ipod touchs and today my moms came and everyone noticed that the tint was different. It looked slightly yellowish.

Apple has used multiple manufactures to supply them with LCD screens that are used in the iPod Touch and iPhone, and those manufacturers have also used different polarizer filters in the LCD.
I have owned four, yes 4, different 8GB 2G iPod Touches and all four had screens with distinguishable characteristics.
1st 2G Touch (Near Perfect Screen):
    =======================================
    Purchased in November.
Light leaked out at 2 small gaps on the left side of the screen, 3 hot 'green' pixels.
It had a near perfect screen with extremely wide viewing angles in any orientation. There was no screen inversion/negative blacks, or blacks turning blue/purple at any angle. Color hues/warmth was somewhat similar to that of my HP f2105 S-PVA monitor.
Though certain light shades of gray appeared pink, and it had minor scanlines, but the screen in this iPod Touch was very desirable. The volume up button broke, so to my dismay I ended up with a replacement.
2nd 2G Touch (Washed Out Screen, Blue Tint):
    =======================================
Received as a replacement in March.
Light leaked out at 3 small gaps on the left side of the screen, 1 hot 'green' pixel.
The screen was somewhat washed out (lower contrast ratio) than the previous 2G, narrower viewing angles.
Colours that should appear light gray no longer looked pink as with the other 2G, however certain shades of purple now looked blue or blueish green. Another downside to the screen in this particular iPod Touch was that there was a distinct 'gradient tint' , where when held in portrait mode and looking at a white screen (like the settings screen), the top half of the display would appear to have a blue tint (like the 1G Touch) while the bottom half of the screen would have a yellow tint.
All in all, I am not pleased with the screen on this iPod Touch...planned on selling it, since Apple's technicians didn't find anything wrong with the screen.
3rd 2G Touch (Overly Saturated Screen, Yellowish Green Tint):
    =======================================
Purchased in the last week of April.
Still had the above iPod Touch to compare it to.
No light leaks, no dead/hot pixels.
The screen was overly saturated, and had even narrower viewing angles than the washed out 2G screen. Two major problems with this screen was:
Pretty much every shade of gray had a very very ugly yellow-green tint to them. So much so, that I really couldn't stand it. It also had the worse degree of scanlines/interlacing that I have ever seen on an iPod Touch.
Scrolling from one page of the home screen to another page would result in horizontal lines through every icon and a ghosting-like icon.
I Decided to keep the previous iPod Touch, and give the this one to the person i hated the most as a gift .
4th 2G Touch (Near Perfect Screen):
    =======================================
    Purchased a week ago.
No light leaks, no dead pixels.
Still had the 2nd 2G Touch to compare it to.
The characteristics of this screen is VERY similar to that of 1st 2G iPod Touch that I purchased in November: Perfect warmth and good color rendering, but light shades of gray look pink.
Viewing angles are not as wide as the 1st 2G iPod Touch. No scanlines/interlacing whatsoever.
All in all, I hope that nothing ever goes wrong with this iPod Touch, because I love I am very pleased with the screen.
Yikes this is a long post...

  • Please help me with external monitor resolution! Now!!

So i just bought a 22' Acer monitor to use via a VGA adapter with my xbox 360 (to get weak HD in time for Halo 3). I also own a MacBook Pro (the latest Sata Rosa one) which has an Nvidia GeForce 8600M graphics card with 128 VRAM. To my dismay however when i plug the monitor into the MacBook Pro via the DVI to VGA adapter that came with it i find the screen resolution to being very low, almost standard definition. I have fiddled with the settings and everything and found the best resolution is to have the MBP on 1440x900 and the Acer monitor on 1680x1050at 60Hz but its still shoddy resolution. Please could anyone shed some light on the subject? The funny thing is though, when i boot into Windows via Bootcamp, the monitor looks alot better (but still not good enough) and i have far more settings to adjust via the Nvidia control panel. Please help me with this because i only have a few days to decide wether or not I should take it back. Thankyou.
Here's the monitor with some specs: http://www.pcworld.co.uk:80/martprd/store/pcwpage.jsp?BV_SessionID=@@@@0884756254.1190642998@@@@&BV_EngineID=ccggaddmdfmkflmc flgceggdhhmdgmi.0&categoryoid=-27763&sku=774215&page=Product&fm=null&sm=null&tm=null

I have a similar problem. New Macbok Pro with an Nvidia card and an external monitor (HP f2105) 21 inches max resolution of 1680x1050.
My issue only happens via Boot Camp on Windows Vista (it's fine in OS X and Paralells).
I previously owned a Macbook and the external display was at max resolution, now, I only get a non-modifiable 1024x768 option on the HP display...
Don't know what to do, no info on Nvidia or HP forums... I assume it's a driver issue. COuld it be that a HP driver for the display itself help? Do drivers for displays actually exist?
Sad that the Macbook Pro does not comply as well as a normal Macbook.

  • Everything looks good except videos (AVI files)

    Hi,
Everything looks great on my macbook pro except videos which look horrible. The worst is videos I take with FlipMino or Kodak Zi8. They look fantastic on my destkop PC, but on my macbook pro, they look abismal.
The colors are ugly, the video is grainy, the greens have terrible color noise. It looks worst in Quicktime (with Perian and/or Divx installed) than in VLC, but VLC looks bad too.
Flash videos on the web are much better. Not as good as my desktop LCD (HP f2105 monitor).
    Any ideas? Pictures look AWESOME...
Also, in bootcamp, win7 installed, all colors are somewhat off.
    Any ideas?
    Many thanks.

Well i cant tell you exactly why the AVI movies are like that for you, but i would suggest that if every other Movie format looks good, i would suggest converting it to a different format. If you have QT Pro you can do that easily as well as iMovie.
