F4 help is not opening in some PCs

Hi Gurus,
Web Reports are working fine in most of the workstations. But we are
facing this issue in some of the PCs. We are opening the Intranet
site. From Intranet Site we are logging in to BW role menu page using
user credentials. We are clicking on the required link. It is working
fine. Variable entry page is opening in separate window. Data Input
help is working properly. When we are trying to open input help for
plant or material after a minute it is showing u2018Page can not be
displayedu2019. Our session time out is set to 10 minutes.
Please suggest if there is any machine or browser specific setting
needs to maintained.
We are using IE 6/7.

Hi kirthi,
If the fields have F4 help assigned to it, it will come automatically. Check it once again. If not you can assign F4 help manually or you can use OVS. If you click on the attribute field in context, under properties you can see F4 help.

I am using the RIDC GET_FILE service to display the pdf in the WebCenter portal page. When the method is called the pdf document opens in Chrome browser in some machines but not in Firefox or other browsers. The file is returned as "application/octet-stream" and hence does not open as a pdf document.

And the call to the servlet is made on click of a link.
Why doesn't the documents() open in some browsers while it does in some.Similarly i want to open docx and rtf files from UCM also using the same code without downloading.

Try following sample code:
Include cmfn tag library in your page

Use next EL Expression to get a Node url's (are the same methods as a Node in CP):

Telnet not working i need help : Could not open connection to the host !!

hello all im back today with big problem with telnet i dont know why !!
i have to computers one of them in my home and the other one in my office both of them use windows 7 so
home PC internet IP : 82.205.100.161
office PC internet IP : 82.102.237.175
so i go to control panel and then to windows features and i check Telnet Client and Telnet server
then i turn off my firewall
then i start telnet service
then i execute netstat -ab to know telnet port :
[tlntsvr.exe]
TCP [::]:135 Hacker-HP:0 LISTENING
is there anythink i need to do to get that damn connection over internet NOT LAN !! pleaze help me i still get this sucks error : Could not open connection to the host

Hi,
Telnet server use TCP port 23 by default.
Here is a screenshot of my lab server,
To verify if the TCP port 23 has been opened, we can use the portqry tool.

HELP-Applications not opening.

Hi, I have an iMac 5,1 running the lastest Tiger OS.
My problem seemed to start yesterday evening while installing the Safari 3 beta.
As it was installing I deleted the package it was installing from causing it to be unsuccessful.
Then I tried re-installing it and it told me I didn't have enough memory.
After restarting i find the the installer won't open. (you see the dock expanding to fit the installer icon but then it dispands again).
Now today I find that Aperture, iTunes, Software updater and Dashboard will not open.
(Aperture and iTunes bounce once in the dock and then do not open).
Hope all that makes sense.
Please help me!

Mac - help files not opening

Somehow, the help files are not opening anymore. It opens the
help viewer, but it is blank. I see the help files in the DW8
folder. How to reconnect? (The Flash, FW, and Contribute help
works)

Adobe Encore Help does not open

Help/Adobe Encore Help in Encore 2.0 does not open.
Where is the help file located, and how to access it from the Help button?

The first time you try to open it, it could take a minute or so, but if you have waited 10 minutes and gotten nothing, then there is a problem.
Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the application?

LAF and Java Plugin not opening in some machines

Hi all,
I have strange problem in my forms 10g application. We have implemented LAF in our Forms 10g application that requires to use Sun Java Plugin.
In formsweb.cfg, the sun java plugin version that would be downloaded is - 1.4.2. For most of my users they have version 1.5.0_13 installed already. All users are able to run the application without any problems.
Only in one machine, it does not open up the form applet and instead opens a blank form on IE version 7.
I have other machines with same config Windows XP and IE 7 and they work fine. They too have the Javaplugin version 1.5.0_13 installed and it does not prompt the user to download 1.4.2 version.
Can anyone help me to fix this problem?

Thanks. But It is not solely about LAF. It is just that my form applet is not getting dowloaded as soon as user opens application on browser. It is the whole applet nothing about LAf. But still I would send the email.

Help will not open

I know I was able to fix this once before, but I cannot find the info now to fix it again. I have Photoshop Elements 3.0 and I cannot get the Help file to open. If I remember correctly, it was something simple, but my memory fails me now.

You could download the latest help files to your local machine.
PDF file for Organizer.
PDF file for Editor.

Links sent via mail will not open on some PC'sr

Whether they are embedded in text or if I drag and drop from a webpage or Flickr my PC respondents cannot open links I send to them. The links also look funny, like a rectangle rather than the usual line of http stuff.
Typical response from a PC user is 'I am using MOS 10.4.10/.
Cannot open docs with extension "dot mim".
Never had this trouble with earlier OS 10 ??? Do I need to use a different mail program or web browser.???

PDF document not openeing on some PC's

Hello,
In my BSP application a PDF document opens on a button click. However, the PDF seems to work on some machines and not on others. This is mainly in production.
Can you please provide any suggestion for why it is behaving as such?

My initial thought would be that the pdf extension (I hope that you provide the pdf extension, MIE needs it) isn't linked to AR.
Check http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/windows/xp/all/proddocs/en-us/win_fcab_reg_filetype.mspx for this.
If you have eg Mozilla, check this http://www.mozilla.org/docs/end-user/helper-applications.html
If that's not the case, I would add this in your BSP page that generates the PDF:

        runtime->server->response->delete_header_field( name = 'Cache-Control' ).
        runtime->server->response->delete_header_field( name = 'Expires' ).

IWeb not opening after some issues with an existing site...

Hi there~
I’m a relatively new Mac user and a former PC/Dreamweaver user. I’m having a bit of an issue with iWeb. I’ll do my best to keep what happened relatively brief:
1. I had created and published a site a couple of months ago, but the page that contained photo albums seemed to have become corrupted. Every time I tried to open that page, iWeb would crash.
2. I recreated that page but then was not able to delete the corrupted version. So I recreated the whole site.
3. I published the new site, and everything seemed to be working well in the live version.
4. To avoid confusion in the future, I wanted to get rid of the old site. When I deleted that site, I saw that it said something about deleting it from the Web as well. I realized that this may cause problems because most of the pages would have the same names, but I was hopeful that since the new site had all of the pages I could just republish.
5. The new site did indeed get messed up after I deleted the old site. So I set the new site to republish, and then I got an error message.
6. I figured just for safety’s sake I would undo the deletion of the old site and just leave it for a while in the hopes that the new site would then work again.
7. After I did this, the old files reappeared, but then iWeb froze. (I think... My memory is a little fuzzy here...)
8. I closed and reopened iWeb, but all that appeared was that little right-hand box that lets you see the properties of certain things (Page, Photos, Text, etc). I also restarted the computer, and now when I open iWeb, that little box is still all that I’m getting.
I grabbed what I could from the live version and my history files so that I can recreate the site from scratch if I need to, so I’m not terribly worried about getting my files back. I did have another site created in iWeb that seemed to be fine, it would be nice to not have to start over with that one, but obviously I can if needed. Maybe those files can be found elsewhere on my computer?
So will I be able to get iWeb back? Do I need to reinstall it? If so, how do I do that? (Maybe that’s a question for another forum. iLife was installed on the Mac when we got it, I looked briefly for the files on the Applications CD but got a little scared off when I saw something about bundled applications...)

I’ll spend some time looking around to see if anyone has addressed this elsewhere, I just wanted to get things down while it was all relatively fresh in my head.

Javascript links not working on some pcs???

I have designed this site for a friend and i'm at a stage of real frustration as some of the links on the flash site work fine on Mac but not on PC. To relay her fears, I have asked a PC friend of mine to test the links on his PC and he came back saying they all worked fine. I even tested it myself in an internet Café and they worked but strangely all my friends, friends come back to her saying they don't.
Would one of you guys on the forum mind testing this out for me as I really don't know why this works for some and not others.

Thanks for coming back to me. It's great to know that it finally seems to be working. I actually rewrote all the code for the links. I used to have code that allowed me to open a window without address bars etc but it was causing alot of problems on certain platforms and browsers so i replaced the code in flash with a simple get url.
