Here is a document for Using Keyboard Shortcuts and Special Keys with a section for F1 - F12 key functions.

  • Missing keys from Mini 210-1155DX

I just bought a Mini 210-1155DX. So where are the Home, End, Pg Up and Pg Dn keys? The specs say it has a 102 key standard keyboard.

Folks, Mini 210-1000 Series supports Home, End, PgUp and PgDn, it is just not been labeled...If it not working I would suggest Updating the BIOS to F.11 from here and check...

  • Clean Install W7 Starter on Mini 210 - Microsoft says Manufacturer is Blocking Install Key

I recently did a clean W7 Starter install on my HP Mini 210-2145DX. I used a Belarc key finder to retrieve the operating system key before doing the clean install with a W7 disc that I own. But the W7 Starter will not verify with Microsoft and gives an error code. I called Microsoft and read them the error code and the W7 Key. The woman asked me to find the certificate of authenticity that is attached to the computer. I told her that there was none. She said the manufacturer was blocking my W7 key. She would not help me any further.
Does anyone know a way around this?
    Thanks,
    Mike

Also, I installed W7 Starter version. When I initially tried to install using my W7 Home Premium Disc, the key from the Belarc key finder program did not work, because it said "wrong version" of windows 7. So i had to delete the ei.cfg file from the W7 installation disc and when I did this, and burned a new iso onto a dvd, the installation asked me to select what version I wanted to install. During the install process for W7 Starter, the key that I previously retrieved from my Mini 210 using the Belarc program worked. But Microsoft told me that Microsoft won't verify the operating system as authentic because the manufacture has the key "blocked."

  • WIN 7 Home Premium and a HP mini 210-1000!

Have mini 210-1000, refurb, came with a WIN 7 Starter, never did check and record the product key that came with...ERROR!
    1.  Went on line 12 days ago and purchased WIN 7 Home premium.  Have spend HOURS on line with MS techs trying to get it to install.  Came here before I waste any more time.
This machine has 1G RAM - CAN it install WIN 7 Home premium?
    2.  Since the last attempted install (MS using PowerISO Virtual Drive Manager (free download ver.), and which was UNsuccessful, my HP and MS now tell me that my WIN 7 Starter is 'not genuine' and they give me several options to obtain the product key.
The product key in control panel/status is not EVEN in the correct format and starts with 2 (unacceptable) zeros...
IF this machine was refurbed by HP or Contractor, does HP have a usable product key to return me to normal operation?  Am having trouble re-reaching the MS tech, I believe HE's out of ideas...
ANYone know a guru ?  Am not quite ready to invest  $$$ to fix a mess that MS started - and it's a long, long story...which takes me back to the original question:  am I asking my Notebook to install WIN 7 Home Premium when it's not able??
Thank you for any help you can provide!

    Hi Darkfirepr,
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have read your thread on your HP Mini 210-1010NR and start up issues. Here is a link to troubleshoot the HP Mini. Before starting please disconnect all connected devices and cables such as Personal Media Drives, USB drives, printers, and faxes. • Brightness doesn't work in Windows 7 on Mini 210 HD

    Hi,
I've bought a Mini 210 HD a month or two ago, and i promptly removed XP to put Windows 7 Ultimate (32-bit) on it. This has worked more or less OK, but ever since upgrading i have been unable to use the brightness functions of the lap-top in any way. Not only can i not adjust the brightness with the hot keys, Windows will not dim the screen when i remove it from the mains or leave it to idle, and although i can move the brightness slider in the Power Options control panel, it has no effect. (Currently it is on the lowest setting in Windows, but the hardware is still on maximum brightness.)
I have re-installed the Intel chip-set drivers and the HP keyboard drivers a half-dozen times, these don't seem to be the problem. There is also nothing relevant listed in Windows Update, and there are no problem devices listed in Device Manager.
Is there anything i can do about this?
    configuration:
    HP Mini 210 HD
    Windows 7 Ultimate (32-bit)
    Intel GMA 3150 driver 8.14.10.1972
    Microsoft x86 ACPI driver 6.1.7600.16385

Alrighty, Here ya go! I had this problem also. Got my HP mini 210HD and put Windows 7 on it right away. Brightness wouldn't change, function keys didn't work, brightness slider did nothing.
    Solution:
Make sure you download the graphics drivers from HP's website, not Intel's. The brightness setting won't work with the Intel graphics drivers.
Get "Intel Mobile Graphics Driver for Microsoft Windows 7" from HP's website.
    I have Windows 7 32bit, so I downloaded this: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-78614-1&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&...
This should work for you Ohkine.

  • Install windows on my HP Mini 210-400, dont work because no driver?

    Hello,
I tried to install a new Windows on my (titel) HP mini 210-4000, so if I start the installation and come to the Harddriver selection, pick a driver, windows said, that AHCI-driver are missing.
In the BIOS of this Netbook I can't change the Harddrivermode tho IDE, because I don't have this option......-.-
What have I to do now?

    Try it again.
BTW..What is the complete product name and product number of your mini. At the end of what you posted there are characters missing. It helps us when we know the exact hardware configuration and we can get that from the product number.
This time use the installer to delete the existing partition create a new partition and format it as NTFS.
Download the Intel Rapid  Storage software on another PC and extract the SATA AHCI drivers. You can use either Winrar or WinZip to do that.  If you do this ,then you can install the AHCI drivers that you wanted to install before at the F6 install drivers stage of the installation. You will have to go into the registry and check a specific key later on after the install.
You may have to do this a couple of times til it works. Sometimes it takes practice. It is actually pretty simple to run a dual boot of Windows 7 (32-bit) and Linux (Ubuntu)
    Best regards,

  • HP Mini 210 - No Recovery Disk

    Hello All,
Hope someone can advise what to do.  I had bought two HP Mini 210's.  I had not made any recovery disks.  The hard disk on one of the netbooks failed and I have had a new one installed.
I made a recovery disk onto USB from the other working netbook hoping that I would be able to use this to restore the OS using the license keys from the failed one but when it boots off of the USB it says there is a mismatch or something and will not let me continue.
Does anyone know of a way around this please?  If there isn't one, can anyone advise what the best step forward is?
    Thanks in advance

  • HP Mini 210-1094NR recovery

    Hello, I need help now.
Trying to fix an HP Mini 210-1094NR running Windows 7 Starter.  Boots up to the Windows Error Recovery screen which gives me two options.
    1.  Launch Startup Repair
    2.  Start Windows Normally
Well you can guess which one(s) don't work.
The repair option got stuck in a loop, hard disk light flashing once every 3 seconds.   Left it for over 36 hours and it said it was repairing.
So it is hammered.  Is there a recovery partition to access?   I have the manual and it said to hit F11 or the Window button to access a possible recovery partition.  However, these just bring me back to the Recovery screen with the same options that don't work.
    Any help for this unit???
    Thanks.

  • Keyboard fault on HP Mini 210 1004

The Managing Director of our company recently bought himself a Mini 210 1004 which has developed a strange keyboard fault (or at least I assume it's a hardware fault).  Two keys are playing up and give the following results when pressed.
p displays p but moves the insertion point in front of the letter
shift p (P) displays P but highlights the letter so the next letter typed overwrites it.
[ displays [ but moves the insertion point to the beginning of the line
    shift [ ({) displays { but highlights all characters from the start of the line up to {
    All other keys work fine.
Should he be taking it back under warranty?

  • Mini 210-2080nr touchpad help

    Hello,
I recently bought a HP Mini 210-2080NR and I'm having difficulties with the touchpad. The right and left key is connected to the touchpad. When using the touchpad, I'm able to navigate with the entire touchpad including the keys and that is causing a huge inconvenience.
Is there a way to lock the right and left click keys on the touchpad, so I'm able to navigate smoothly? Thanks in advance.

Check if you have Accidental Contact Mitigation (ACM) feature in the Synaptics Properties Windows, that will help you set restrict the tap and pointer movement zone...So outside that zone, you can have more control over tap and pointer movement, To Activate the function, Click on Filter Activation Time, and set the Filter Activation Time to Zero Seconds and check.......Check below screenshot...

  • Mini 210 Ethernet Port Cover

I just received my Mini 210 yesterday, and have a problem.
The cover for the ethernet port is very loose. Basically, if you pick up the netbook, it falls out. I spent over an hour on the phone with tech support, who finally told me they could not help me. They gave me a ticket number and a number to call today (800-728-9665 - Starbucks, as it turns out).
It seems to me that I may just be missing a small part. Nothing seems broken. Have other Mini 210 owners noticed this issue?
    EDIT:
I just found a part number:
589680-001: Rubber Kit (not illustrated, includes 4 rubber feet and RJ-45 cover)
There are no rubber parts in or around the port. Could this be the problem

  • HP Mini 210

    Hi,
I recently got the HP Mini 210 which comes with Windows 7Starter.  I'm just curious weather or not I can upgrade that to regular Windows 7?  Will it slow down the netbook or anything?
    Thanks

Yes, you can upgrade to Windows 7 Home, Professional or Ultimate. It's all there already on your machine, just all loked up so you can't use the advanced features. Just go  to Best Buy or Office Depot and ask for a Windows Starter to Home Premium upgrade pack.. It's just a key code on a card that you activate at the register when you buy it. You then take it home, open it up, and it tellls you where to go on microsoft.com to enter that code and then Microsoft emails you back a "real" product key that you entoer into Windows on your netbook and voila, you will get the appropriate features unlocked. No re-install or CD needed.
Or you can just buy a normal upgrade disk and upgrade from scratch if you want. And I would say no, for the most part your netbook won't slow down (much) if at all. Main thing you get is the ability to do full backups, and the media center and full Meedia Player that lets you play DVD's.  I put a trial verion of Windows 7 Ultimate on my Toshiba netbook and it worked great. I didn't buy it though so I'm back to XP again.

  • HP Mini 210-4000 Blue Screen of Death PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA error

I've been up and down the Forums here with no specific luck, unfortunately, so I'm going to ask even if this has been queried and solved in another part of the site which I may have missed.
I am trying to sort out a friend's HP Mini Notebook, model HP Mini 210-4125sa. The machine started up well enough until a week ago, when it suddenly decided to blue screen.
The specific error message text displayed within the BSOD reads as follows:
    PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA
    TECHNICAL INFORMATION:
    *** STOP: 0x00000050 (0x87E40000, 0x00000000, 0x92442B13, 0x00000000)
I can not boot past the Windows 7 loading screen - the load bar makes it two fifths up and that's it.
I had thought to try and recover the operating system, if at all possible, from what is apparently a recovery partition that is created on the HD ( i haven't worked with these machines before unfortunately), although i cannot figure how to get at this partition before the error hits.
Also, having attempted to download a piece of software from the HP USB Recovery Flash Disk Utility, i realise that it seems necessary to actually use this from the notebook itself, which is not possible.
Having started running the various onboard tests from the BIOS menu, the Hard Disk Test has just apparently failed (specifically the Hard Disk Optimized DST portion of the test), with failure ID GGBXXV-66A75U-MFPX0J-61VV03 (i'm not certain if this information is of value but am including it nonetheless).HP have not unfortunately been an awful lot of help as they wil only offer a one-off technician support call for forty quid, or to take the notebook away for repair, the cost of which is practically as much as the original cost of the hardware. I would of course prefer to try and sort this out myself but have hit a bit of a wall at the moment. Any suggestions would be fantastic, at this point.
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

That hardware test for the hard disk is a dead giveaway of a failed item. A failed hard disk  is a show stopper.
Hard Disk Optimized DST portion of the test), with failure ID GGBXXV-66A75U-MFPX0J-61VV03 (i'm not certain if this information is of value but am including it nonetheless) It is important information.
A corrupted NTFS volume (the hard disk) can also generate the " PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA error"  stop message.
