F9 functionality from Magic Mouse?

Recently upgraded from a Mighty Mouse to a Magic Mouse. I love it mostly, but I miss the one-handed "side button" equivalent to F9 functionality. Is there a special gesture on the Magic Mouse I could enable to do the same thing?

Drew,
Wow. Good catch on that App. I am downloading now myself!
In the interim, what I've been doing is started using the corner activations again. I have SPACES set to the bottom right corner of the screen. So all I have to do is flick my wrist (and mouse) to the bottom right and SPACES activates. After 10 minutes, I forgot about the "squeeze me" buttons on the old Mighty Mouse.
I used to accidentally activate the squeeze buttons when tracing or doing some tedious motion of the mouse. Very disconcerting.
Can't wait to try Magic Prefs though.

  • Bluetooth Magic Mouse Issues (OS X Yosemite 10.10.3)

Upgrade to 10.10.3 has made Magic Mouse unusable other than for the first few minutes following reboot.  Have tried all suggested fixes including reset of NVRAM, SMC & turn off/on Bluetooth.  Keyboard and track pad don't appear to have the same issues.  Mouse works fine initially and after reset, but once applications (i.e. Mail, Safari, Calendar, etc.) are opened, device loses connection and connection won't re-establish for 10-15 minutes.  Replaced all batteries to new & also deleted and repaired Bluetooth devices to see if that would fix.
USB Mouse works without issue, but lacks functionality of Magic Mouse so looking for a solution.

    Hey. I just fixed it
    Try this
    go to your library/preferences/
    find the folder "SystemConfiguration"
make a back up on your desktop then delete it from library/preferences/
restart computer ( your mac will remake those files)
    viola working bluetooth and wifi

  • Magic Mouse battery only lasts 30 days?

I bought my new 21" iMac back in October and today got a message from Magic Mouse that batteries need to be replaced.
What kind of battery life other folks are getting from MM? Is there anything can be done to increase battery life of MM?

    Hi Kenichi Watanabe:
Would seem some Apple reference reported the Magic Mouse batteries should last four months. I've only found items that report the reference (have not located the reference itself). Clips below are cross posted, but if you search the Internet for the terms ["Magic Mouse" four months] (without the brackets), you'll find a whole series of early reviews and comments containing the same reference to four month battery life.
Perhaps inquire directly of Apple Care. Gizmodo's review (http://gizmodo.com/5386202/apple-magic-mouse-review ) relays a claim about the Magic Mouse battery life saying, "it's powered by two AA batteries, which get up to four months of use per charge, according to Apple."
Engadget's preview (link follows) included the same reference, the related headline read, "Apple's Magic Mouse: one button, multitouch gestures, Bluetooth, four-month battery life."
    http://www.engadget.com/2009/10/20/apples-magic-mouse-multitouch-gestures-blueto oth-four-month/
Finding support for Gizmodo's reference ("according to Apple") and Engadget's headline may be a little more difficult. Perhaps I haven't read the press release carefully enough. Clip below, from that Apple press release:
"Apple Introduces Magic Mouse," press release, 20 Oct 2009, Apple.com (http://www.apple.com/pr/library/2009/10/20magicmouse.html : accessed 24 Nov 2009), in part, "Magic Mouse uses Bluetooth wireless capabilities to create a clean, cable-free desk top and its secure wireless connection works from up to 10 meters away. To extend battery performance, Magic Mouse includes an advanced power management system that works with Mac OS® X to automatically switch to low power modes during periods of inactivity. The wireless Magic Mouse is powered by two AA batteries which are included."
    Hope this helps

  • Magic Charger for the Magic Mouse doesn´t work

    Hi,
I´ve recently did my first purchase on the apple store,
I´ve bought the magic charger from mobee for the Magic Mouse,
which has been working all good with the normal batteries,
but since I´ve install the new magic charger batteries I just can´t make
work the magic mouse, I´ve plug the magic charge into a usb from the iMac 24"
I´ve wait almost a day so tha the Magic Mouse charge the batteries than
when I switch on the Magic Mouse doesn´t work, the green light from Magic Mouse stands off,
so obviously the bluetooth from iMac 24" doesn´t recognize Magic Mouse,
    ¿Any suggestion?
Thank you very much in advance.

    Hi Allan Jones,
I don´t know under with authority you´ve answered this thread,
but and don´t get me wrong, your message was completely worthless.
Since I did a purchase on the apple store, the apple store should answer
for every inconvenient with the product than I did purchase, and as Apple
is a big multinational who cares for his customers, they did so Apple store sended
special transport to my home to get the malfunctional Magic Charger and than
they send me a new one which seems would work fine.
Thank you very much in advance.

  • Magic mouse forward backward swiping does not work from time to time

    Hello...
from time to time the forward/backward swiping functionality of my magic mouse does not work (The scrolling works though). Disconnecting and reconnecting does not do the trick. So I guess it might be a software problem. Restarting the iMac does not always help at once. After a couple of times it will work though again.
    Can anyone help?

  • Loss of Magic Mouse function after downloading Mountain Lion

I have lost the "two-finger swipe" back to previous screen function of my Magic Mouse after downloading Mountain Lion. The vertical scroll function still works, only in the opposite direction. Weird! Any ideas?

You must have upgraded from Snow Leopard. The scroll direction has changed to "natural" where you push content in the direction you want it to go, as thought you had you finger on the screen.   You can change it back the other direction In System Preferences > Mouse > uncheck Scroll direction: natural.
The swipe back a page is now a one finger swipe.  You can change that as well in System Preferences > Mouse > More gestures tab.   Click the disclouse triangle for the choices.

  • Fake Magic Mouse from Apple Premium Reseller

I have a problem with my Apple(?) Magic Mouse.
Clicking buttons doesn't always result in the expected action. Most of the time i need to click the mousebutton two three or even more times for a button to respond. The same thing happens with the trackpad sometimes. I use the Magic Mouse with a 13-inch mid 2009 Macbook Pro.
Since i didn't get a response from the community before, i tried to contact Apple Support. A strange thing happened, the serialnumber of the Magic Mouse wasn't recognized by the system.
Does this mean i have a fake Magic Mouse? I purchased it at an Apple Premium Reseller, so they must have some guts to sell fake products. Anyone who knows what to do about this? Do i need to contact the authorities, is there a normal e-mail address to contact Apple?
    Cheers

Apple can be contacted through: http://www.apple.com/contact they list locations outside the US in addition to all of the US-based functions.

  • Magic Mouse lost scrolling function-no evidence of USB overdrive installed

My magic mouse lost its scolling function after my son's friend used his own USB mouse for gaming on my iMac. I've read the discussion forums and thought the problem could be a conflict w/USB overdrive but there's no evidence of it in my utilities folder:
Here are the current system preferences for the mouse, which appear to me to be in working order (am I missing something?):
    and
And info from my system profiler:
Have restarted ad infinitum after making minor adjustments: changing batteries, re-paring the mouse, and running software update. Any other suggestions would be welcome--- other than throtteling the little reprobate who plugged his usb mouse into my imac w/o asking Let me know if you need additional system information, too, and I'll post it ASAP.
    Thanks-Andrew

Thanks Captfred, but unfortunately the problem still persists. It was checked so I tried it a few different ways, too.

  • In Yosemite, Magic Mouse double-click function doesn't work

On my iMac running Yosemite 10.10.2, the double-click function on the Magic Mouse no longer works. So to open a folder, or anything for that matter, I must always do click-control ---and that doesn't work for everything. For example, I can't double click on a character in Glyphs, so this renders Glyphs useless. And so on... I have gone into preferences to see if anything was amiss in the settings, but everything checked out fine. Is there a fix for this, or do I have to wait for the next upgrade for Yosemite? Help! Thanks... --Royce

What's the answer to this mouse problem, please? Why does my double-click no longer work on my magic mouse since downloading Yosemite 10.10.2 to my iMac?
    What's up Apple?
